Last night was the premiere of Our Idiot Brother, which… I don’t really want to see, although I do enjoy some Paul Rudd, and he does look kind of funny in it. The film paired Rudd with a group of talented ladies, and so the premiere was heavy on the fashion. Unfortunately for nearly all of the talented ladies, they all looked like hell. Let’s start with Zooey Deschanel, shall we? The Moschino dress was, like, circus-level bad. I think highly of the Deschanel sisters – I find both of them beautiful and interesting – but this dress is unflattering and just flat-out ugly. What’s with all of the bulges and dust ruffles on her neck and biscuits? Gross. I’m totally over Zooey’s hair too – she needs to ditch the hipster-girl bangs. She’s well into her 30s, it’s time for a more adult look. But the absolute worst part was how her makeup looked – like a Kardashian got a hold of her:
Ridiculous. Are those falsies on her bottom lids?!?
Next up… Rashida Jones. She’s another one that needs to stop with the bangs, in my opinion, but at least her makeup job is better than Zooey’s. The dress, however, is just as bad. How unflattering is this? Rashida has a cute figure, but you would never be able to tell. I hate her shoes too.
So, I’m kind of demoralized by the bad fashion, so here’s a photo with the other two girls in the cast, Elizabeth Banks and Kathryn Hahn. Why does everyone look so bad?!?

it almost looks like Zoe is a joke. the last picture with all four literally had me laugh out loud. at least the others, while they look bad, kinda seem understandable. o well. i like bangs though, and rock them myself. go bangs!!!

Why can’t women in Hollywood wear proper fitting heels? I do not have big gaps in my high heels. Why can’t they find shoes that fit them?
I think she was going for the Sad Clown look. And yes, they all look ridiculous.
Do ya think perhaps they all decided to play a gigantic joke on all of us by showing up looking like this as a group? It’s the only plausible explanation.
I like the style of Rashida’s shoes – just not that colour and not with that dress. They would be great in black though. I love me a chunky heel. So much more comfortable to walk in than a stiletto.

I like Zooey’s funky look; I always have. She is pretty in the extreme. But not a cookie cutter like most red carpet ladies are. Could do without the clown eyes, though. She just doesn’t need all that.
Bangs don’t bother me either like they do you, Kaiser. I’ve had to wear them my whole life because of thin hair and receding hairline. Some people just look better with them.
I have never ever liked Zooey Deschanel and not just her style (though her hair has bothered me for a long time…). I hated her in 500 Days of Summer where she played one the most unlikable characters I have ever come across. She, her busted hair, ugly clown dress, and sad face need to go away.

That first dress looks like a cupcake with too much frosting and those eyelashes are freaky – how does someone even get them to look like that?

I don’t understand the too big shoes thing. At least two of them are rocking a huge gap at the heel, how can you even walk like that? Too cheap to buy your own and just borrowing from the stylist? Even I can afford well fitting heels-why make an already painful situation worse?
I think Zooey must be going for an avante guard clown think? The ruffle and the makeup?

Damn. I have those shoes Rashida Jones is wearing, but I tend to put them with jeans not with whatever the heck it is she’s wearIng. In their defense, the are crazy easy to walk in even though they’re pretty high.

But what do you have against bangs? Some people have really high foreheads that look much worse, IMO. Bangs can be a godsend in such cases.
She has the Pierrot clown thing going on. She even looks like she is going to cry in the 3rd picture.

Zooey always has small pupils and thus big blue eyes. I wonder if she has any vision problems.
Kaiser is a little too anti-bangs. Does someone have some post traumatic childhood bangs issues? I don’t associate bangs and not having an “adult” look. Plus they can help those with larger foreheads (compare Rashida and Zooey to Elizabeth in that pic). I know retro is somewhat Zooey’s thing, but the huge Twiggy lashes aren’t working too great.
On another note, does Elizabeth look thirsty in the face to anyone else? It could be bad make-up choices and lighting, but her face looks a little cold and dry.
oh and I forgot to ask: no Emily Mortimer? Did she not make it to the premiere?
Her eye makeup looks very 1960s Twiggy, who was famous for wearing false lashes on top and bottom. But I agree that there is no redeeming that dress.
I think Zooey looks cute. I know why I like her outfit. Years ago, I had a little Pierrot figurine that I bought in Paris. It was really sweet but I lost it. Maybe I can find one on E-bay.lol
Hideous, Unflattering, & ‘Meh’. She reminds me of one of those 1920’s style circus clowns, with the ruffles around her neck… & the eye makeup, which really *does* look like those mimes/clowns… *shudder*
I think that Banks is the only one who looks pretty bad. I’m sorry, but Zoey could wear a potato sack and look absolutely gorgeous. She was truly blessed with her looks. And katherine Hahn looks adorable, in my opinion. Rashida Jones? Meh. But she still looks good. She makes me want to rent The Social Network again.

Does anyone else think that Zooey looks kind of baked in the first few pictures? It would be more understandable to wear that dress if she’d smoked a few joints before getting ready, her eye’s are so red!
I have no idea what she’s thinking saying Zooey should get rid of her bangs. She’s so pretty with them. Even without them, she’s almost flawless. But the bangs are her. They complete her and top her off, definitely.
And eccentricity is her thing, so yeah, I can see the dress. I don’t necessarily like it, but I definitely don’t hate it.
