Alexander Skarsgard is still shooting What Maisie Knew, which I hope gets a title change, because every time I hear it I think “ugh.” Anyway, Alex is still teaming up with this young child actress, whose name I still don’t know. She’s not identified by the photo agency, and IMDB doesn’t have the actress’s name up yet! I’m assuming the kid is playing “Maisie” – the little girl at the center of a custody battle between her parents, played by Julianne Moore and…? Steve Coogan, maybe. I was just informed that Alex plays Maisie’s step-father, Julianne Moore’s new husband in the film. Which… is still bizarre casting, in my opinion.
Considering he’s probably playing older than his real age, I’m assuming that’s why his styling is kind of gross…? Because his hair looks awful. And his clothes don’t fit. I do think it’s super-cute that he’s so connected to the child actors, though. Skarsgard was a child actor himself, and my guess is that he’s especially in tune to making a film set fun and interesting for kids.
There’s video from the other day, when Skarsgard was playing with the young girl in between takes and set-ups. The girl totally adores him, and she’s quite happy to use him as a jungle gym. HIS ARMS in this video. Hot. Hotter than whatever is happening to his hair.

He’s actually playing Julianne’ character’s new (younger, she is like 15 years older than him after all)husband, so the kid’s stepdad. He’s supposed to be kind of hipster/loserish, hence the hair and dirty shoes.

TB – can’t believe I’m saying this but yea I’m kind of over this new Eric this season. I’m actually finding Bill more attractive at times.
It’s just like why did they have to also erase all the raw sex appeal from Eric and turn him into a skipping through fake snow ‘can we make love forever’ man-child? How about I’m going to ‘f*ck you forever Sookie Stackhouse’ while you scream my name?
The one time you saw a glimpse of his sexy self last episode was when he was biting sookie. Will be interesting to see how they do this blood tie after he gets his memory back. Quite sure they will play it out the next seasons with nothing happening between the real Eric and Sookie. Agh.
And yes, AS is very attractive in spite of his flat ironed hair…. Is it supposed to make him look hip..?

Bill is much more menacing (which is ridiculous) and sexy. in fact, im pretty disappointed with this season as of last episode. they need to fix things or they are going to lose me. make Eric stop bein a puss, and i’ll be back on board. give me some good sex scenes!!

In the novel (it’s Henry James, published in the 1890s), Alex’s character–a self-admitted coward, cad, and weakling–genuinely loves Maisie and is loved in return. He’s scandalously younger than Maisie’s (awful) mother, remarkably handsome, and generally dazzles everyone he meets. He’s also pretty much the main male character. It’s Maisie’s step-parents and governess who have the most interaction with her.
Another thing: This kind of looks like a cute kid/romantic comedy deal, but the book is NOT. The way most of the people in Maisie’s life treat her and use her as a weapon to hurt one another is pretty devastating. I am really curious about how this movie’s gonna turn out….

My friend’s sister met him the other day in NYC and said he was the nicest guy ever. Taking photos with fans, talking with everyone and just generally happy. I love it when actors take the time for their fans.
