This is one of the weirder stories of the day. A few weeks ago, Celebuzz and Just Jared both got “confirmations” that Trace Cyrus had impregnated his girlfriend, Brenda Song. The confirmations didn’t come from Brenda or Trace, that I could tell, nor did it come from their reps. Still, everybody ran with Celebuzz’s story and neither Brenda nor Trace said anything about it publicly. Now Radar has an interview with Brenda’s mom, and mom says that Brenda does NOT have a gut full of goat-boy.

Despite rumors to the contrary, the Disney star’s older brother, Trace, 22, and his longtime girlfriend Brenda Song are not expecting their first child together, her mother exclusively told Star magazine.
“She’s actually not pregnant,” Mai Song said about her 23-year-old daughter, despite the reports that The Suite Life of Zack & Cody actress was having a baby.
“It’s very upsetting to our family because of what I’m going through and it’s not how we raised her,” her mother said, revealing that she has been undergoing cancer treatment.
Brenda Song recently appeared in the Oscar winning film The Social Network.
According to her mother: “She’s very upset.”

WTF? I mean, I understand how a 23-year-old girl might get “upset” if she’s falsely accused of being knocked up by Goat-Boy/Joey Ramone-esque Trace Cyrus. But you know what you do if that happens? You issue a public denial. A simple “No, I’m not pregnant” to People Magazine will suffice. You don’t wait three weeks and get your mom to patronizingly declare that you “weren’t raised that way”. Raised what way? She was raised to never get knocked up out of wedlock by a member of the Cyrus family? Are people still slut-shaming about that?
Of course, there’s totally another option. Brenda could have been pregnant and she just got it taken care of. I’m just saying… if I was 23 and knocked up by Trace Cryus, I would be considering an abortion too.

I don’t necessarily believe Radar stories, but the mom’s comment is bizarre. Maybe she means the girl lied about a pregnancy, not that she terminated it. Why would she announce it if she were going to terminate?

The mother makes it seem like it’s insane that her daughter would ever get knocked up out of wedlock. She has no problem bumping uglies with goat boy, and mistakes do happen, regardless of how you’re raised.
I don’t think they’d been dating long at all before the rumor/news came out, so maybe that’s what the mother meant- we raised her to not fool around without protection so early in a relationship.
Who knows. Maybe she lost the baby. Maybe she had it aborted.

I wasn’t being “flippant” about abortion. I was being honest. Abortion is a legal choice that many American women consider, and if I was in Brenda’s alleged position (being knocked up by Trace Cyrus), it would be an option I would consider.

A few years ago, I was watching Lockup with my brother, and we agreed that anyone with facial tattoos is most likely crazy or inbred. I stand by that assessment.
Maybe she had a miscarriage. That is not something you want to announce to world either.

Even her moms comments aren’t a confirmation either way. The mother is the one saying she’s upset not Brenda. She may very well still be pregnant and just told her mother no to calm her down to get through her cancer treatment. Until Brenda says publicly yes or no or if no baby shows up about 7-9 months from now then we’ll know.
She could have miscarried. It’s never wise to announce a pregnancy too soon.

This is DEFINITELY an abortion story. It’s the Twitter era. Had she been not pregnant, she would have issued a denial the very second it popped up on Perez. She was probably happy about it, overwhelmed and bragging to her friends, and then her parents and management stepped in and convinced her that this would be a career-ender. Good for her, I say.
The mom is obviously stating that Brenda wasn’t raised to be one of those girls getting pregnant out of wedlock and that the family is embarrassed by all of the attention. Maybe she lost it if she was pregnant and really, it is no one’s business so her making a statement isn’t necessary.
With that said, why in the holy hell would she date that freak? Not only is he covered in cheap looking tattoos but he is plain ugly.
Sparing someone an unfit life is better than giving them an unfit life, IMO. Its more caring and wise. 1) There is no “pro-abortion” slant the the story, there is merely a pro-choice statement.
2) This idiot is lucky that he will never have to get a real job. Neck, face & hand tattoos are generally no-nos if you want a job outside the body-modification industry (Bombshit McGee, notwithstanding). He also clearly has no idea what most of those tattoos really mean or the history behind them. I love tattoos (my husband has 25+) & really, more power to him, but to have that many at 22… doesn’t bode well for his long-term planning abilities…

has it ever occoured to some of you that Brenda may have been pregnant and had a miscarriage which about 11 million pregnancies annually end in miscarriage 4.3 million in live birth 1,000,000 in abortion and 330,000 in still birth. and maybe the experience was so traumatic for her and Trace that her mom is saying she was bever pregnant as a cover to give them privacy to grieve
