David & Victoria Beckham might relocate from LA to Paris next year

Here are some newish photos of Victoria Beckham and little Harper, who is adorable, right? Harper is such a sweet-looking baby, and she “softens” her mom a great deal. Victoria no longer looks so miserable all the time – plus, I like the way she’s always carrying Harper around, and Harper looks like a very easy-going baby.

I’ve started to really enjoy the idea of David and Victoria Beckham as ex-patriot Brits happily living in America. Victoria has managed to build a solid clothing line, she finally got her long-awaited daughter, and she and David just seem cooler and more low-key here in America. Unfortunately, there are new reports that Becks might be signing with a French team – and the Family Beckham might be moving from LA to Paris. WTF?!?

The Beckhams have started househunting in Paris – fuelling claims that they are about to leave their Los Angeles base for a new life in France. David, 36, will line up for LA Galaxy today against Houston Dynamo in the MLS cup final, but is said to be on the verge of signing a lucrative deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

He and Victoria have also started looking at schools in the French capital for their three sons. The couple, who will return to their Hertfordshire home for Christmas, are due to announce the decision before Beckham’s five-year deal with LA Galaxy ends on December 31.

‘David is all geared up for the cup final but after that he and Victoria will make the decision over whether or not to accept the Paris deal,’ a source close to the football star says. ‘Once the last match is out of the way, talks will ensue with his management and I suspect they will move very quickly.’

David and Victoria, 37, have ruled out commuting to France from LA, and the whole family is preparing to move to Europe.

‘The deal isn’t sealed but they have made the decision that if they move, they will go as a family,’ added the source.

Fashion designer Victoria is said to be excited about the move. ‘She thinks it will help develop her brand and that Paris will open doors for her.’

The couple already own a chateau in the South of France but have instructed aides to look for an apartment in Paris.

‘David has been worried about the boys having American accents, and he and Victoria miss their families in the UK. This way they will be closer to home,’ added the source.

[From The Mail]

I’ve heard David talk about how the boys have become Americanized, but he’s never sounded “worried” about it – he just thought it was cute, I thought. Just my opinion, but it always seemed to me that David was really happy in LA, and he enjoyed that he could just be with his family without the constant drama that the British press provoked when they lived there. Now, I could see Victoria being thrilled at the idea of moving to Paris, doing the Paris shows, remaking herself into an elegant Parisian, doing covers of Vogue Paris. Do you think Posh is the one behind these rumors? Do you think David would want to stay in LA if the Galaxy offered him a great contract?

Well their arrival in LA was never the big deal they and many thought it would be. They were bigger in the UK.. the USA doesn’t seem to care much about them

    Harper is super cute.

  2. bea says:

Maybe if they move to France he’ll stop dressing in the classic d**che style….

  3. Freckles says:

Football is not as big not to the same standard in America as it is in Europe. Perhaps David just wants to play for a better team again. Not slating LA Galaxy, I’m sure they’re a good team in America, but it’s not the same as playing in Europe.

    • mln76 says:

go ahead and ‘slate’ us 🙂 the team isn’t high profile and no one seems to care about soccer unless its the World Cup or a big final. I bet he’d be happier professionally on a better team.

  4. Lalala says:

He’s gorgeous but the douchiness kind of eclipses it.

I do like the way they always have their kids around them and the kids always look happy.

  5. Gigi says:

“David has been worried about the boys having American accents” is funny coming from someone who sometimes sounds like a cartoon character when he talks. Good thing he’s hot as hell.

    what a cute little princess!!

  7. NM9005 says:

They will lover her skinny ass. They’re shallow like that.

Her baby is so adorable. All of the children are cute and look easy-going. Victoria is really a mom who looks after her children and obviously loves them.

I think that despite Posh’s often ridiculous public persona, and the allegations of his infidelity, both she and David are completely devoted to their family. When they moved to the US and David’s dad passed away, didn’t Posh discontinue her TV series and her grand US arrival? So if they move to Paris, I think it will be a mutual decision.

  9. madpoe says:

Since when did they stop making baby strollers? Or are strollers only for the unfabulous?

She would go to Paris after having a baby girl to use as a doll.

    • NM9005 says:

      They didn’t:

I for one, am happy that not all mothers have strollers. I am a heavy advocate for those carrier bags. A small baby isn’t heavy and it’s easier and handier to carry them in a bag because they are close to you and you can keep a better eye on them.

When I’m on the bus and they are two people with strollers, it blocks everything. What with those people in a wheelchair who actually NEED something inconvenient like that? It’s not even babies sometimes but three or four year old who refuse to walk or mothers who find it easier to strap them in a stroller so they won’t run away because they are a pain in the ass when let loose. Strollers are so annoying in general and it’s not easy for going out and definitely not agile enough. I only concur defeat when it’s about twins. One baby is difficult to travel with but manageable but two requires a stroller.

Totally agree, and for some reason in London theres an epidemic that eclipses class – yummy mummies and chavs alike use their pushchairs as weapons.

Remember France has some of the strictest paps laws on record. They would not be harassed like they are in the US or UK. They could actually relax. Of course one wonders if being out of the spot light is what Posh really wants. She lives to be in the press.

    • Ron says:

They really are not harassed here in LA. Here’s the thing, there are plenty of paps around, but LA very spread out and people here are used to seeing celebs and generally don’t bother them. Stars that are harassed by paps generally court that kind of thing and go to places where they are or have their people call the paps and tell them where they are going to be. Unless they are camping outside of your house for some reason, it’s pretty easy to go about LA and not be bothered.

  11. dorothy says:

    Good to know she’s moving….yawn.

  12. Papaya says:

Why do people always think she’s the one who makes decisions? Remember him leaving his family and going to Milan for few months – twice? That was all him. And if they go to Paris it will probably be all him again, because he wants to play for an European club and GB team at the Olympics.

  13. CG says:

I remember when they were talking about moving here permanently they said a good part of the reason was because of their kids — they have American accents, go to American schools, have American friends, love L.A. … I never heard them complain about their kids being Americanized. But then, I guess they can’t exactly bitch about that in the American press and expect the American public not to turn on them.

    • Ambergesa says:

I don’t have a stroller I used a carrier when my baby was under a year and a back pack now. I loved snuggling his little body, but I also carried my older boy regularly til he was four, good exercise. I’d let him run and play but if we were walking it was easier. To me there is nothing sweeter than my child arms around my neck. And it really does give me the perfect arm definition with 0 gym time. So a win win

  14. Denise says:

Great! I hope they do move. 2011 was full of them.; on to something new!

  15. Melissa says:

Harper is really cute, and I love that Victoria isn’t putting her in pink all the time. LOL about David being worried about the kids having American accents – I’d be more worried that they were going to grow up and all get sleeved – worry about that, David!

  16. Obvious says:

Look at that baby! Oh so freakin adorable!!!!

  17. Sophie says:

I think David’s probablt the one who wants to get back into European football. Victoria meanwhile seams like she loves the glamour of hollywood.

  18. Bella says:

This is a long time rumor that even my hubby says it’s old. David will go wherever the moolah takes him.

  19. MW says:

Wow, the baby’s getting big! And so cute. At least whatever they do and have done, it’s been as a family. And they do seem happy. She’s managed to build her clothing line, he’s still doing what he loves. See Kim K? That’s how you make it work when you’re devoted to a husband/wife/family.

  20. The Original Mia says:

    Harper is adorable. Those cheeks!

I doubt they are going anywhere. They seem very happy in LA and the Galaxy just won the championship. They probably will bring David back. Victoria’s line sells everywhere, so she doesn’t have to move to Paris to improve its standing.

  21. Sabrina says:

This has been talked about for ages in the UK, but everywhere says that he wants to move – he’s been in talks with some high-profile football clubs because he know he’s more likely to play in the olympics/european cup next year if he plays the european football season (which has basically just started) rather than the american season (which has just finished?)…
The British press is mostly reporting that she doesn’t want to move.

  22. Kelly says:

So what if they move to Paris? Do people in the US actually care? I think they are somewhat obnoxious either way.

  23. LuckyLilGem says:

What a gorgeous baby girl. Congrats to the happy family, Paris is not a bad place to relocate to.

  24. Laughing Librarian says:

Whoa-wait a sec-David is worrying about his sons having American accents? Don’t let the door hit you on the a– when you go back to Europe, Becks.

Think of how enjoyable it will be for your boys in Paris–transitioning as ‘tweens and teens to an entirely different culture where they speak French-not an alternate form of English (as awful as American English must sound to you, Man of Math-see previous post). While Americans are always suckers for British accents, the French will not be so kind. Parlez-vous francais?
At least Harper will get to grow into a French schoolgirl-she’ll be a very pretty and stylish one.

    Good luck!
