These are new photos of Mariah Carey in Aspen, Colorado yesterday. I’m surprised Mariah is so covered up! Yes, I know it’s probably freezing in Aspen, but Mariah has her new Jenny Craig body and everything, you’d think that she would have found a warm outfit that showed off her figure. Like, a fur bikini. Flannel-lined booty shorts. Boob mittens. Instead, Mariah wore this poncho that I actually LOVE. It makes her look bigger than she actually is, sure, but it’s a great piece. I like how Mariah isn’t all glamorous too – she’s barely wearing any makeup! WHO ARE YOU?
Mariah Carey had quite the rosy glow about her today as she ventured out into the crisp air of Aspen. But on closer inspection, it appeared the singer’s winter chic was all thanks to some clever make-up application, rather than feeling the chill.
The 41-year-old mother-of-two had apparently dabbed on the blusher to complement her seasonal style as she stepped out trussed up in a stylish cape teamed with black leggings and her suede brown boots.
Mariah was spotted paying a visit to her mother’s jewellery store – and despite it being dark the diva still found the need for shades.
The singer and husband Nick Cannon usually go to Aspen for Christmas but didn’t last year due to fears the high altitude may interfere with her pregnancy.
She still went away because she has to be somewhere with snow at Christmas.
‘It’s got to be snowy,’ she said at the time. ‘I was considering staying in LA because we love it, but it’s not the most seasonal of places. I need snow.’

I get that. I think it’s a little bit depressing when Christmas falls during a heat wave here in Virginia, and I love it when it’s all wintery and grey.

My thoughts EXACTLY. She is the only person who can do all manner of self-absorbed foolishness, play the diva and STILL have my love. Its actually quite baffling my unexplained affection for her, the closest I’ve come is the fact that she doesn’t pretend to not be high-maintenance and like she doesn’t take herself seriously, she does and she doesn’t mind you knowing! I wish this unpretentious diva and her family so much joy and continued happiness!

Welcome to the post childbirth world Mariah……….you can get the weight off, keep the focus for a while because you like your body again, and then boom, you just want to eat and not be hungry and have dinner with you family and then it creeps back up on ya!!!

Why surprisingly pretty? She’s a gorgeous person. A little crazy, yes, but gorgeous nonetheless. It’s not surprising that she looks pretty.
IMO, she is suprisingly pretty because usually her clothing, makeup, and persona is just overkill. Here she looks younger and fresher. Less is more except clothing, where that doesn’t hold true!

I love that Christmas video and song! I like how it feels like an old home movie and her daughter is such a gorgeous baby. I dont know if Mariah is genetically blessed or just had some cosmetic procedure but her face looks very youthful.
She looks GREAT. As she gets older, she should start to back off the super lacquered looks and default to something like this more often.
Finally she’s wearing something appropriate and I actually like her outfit from head to toe.
I subscribe to the less is more philosophy and this is an example of why. Her face is beautiful. With all the eye make up, big hair, and boobie exploding dresses you just get a “Barbie meets high price call girl” look but with this natural look you get to see her pure beauty. I hope she keeps this look.

Her hair and makeup looks great — it’s really casual, and you can see how pretty she is without being distracted. The outfit is not that flattering on her body, but I like the type of outfit it is: fashionable, good-quality, classy, and age-appropriate (which, as many have pointed out, actually makes her look YOUNGER).
I be willing to bet, that under that poncho, is a dark blue skin tight catsuit. With a big deep v-neck.
The kind that has her boobs pushed out the top of it. haha! Mariah does not do classy. Somehow when that poncho comes off, the boobs will be all in your face.

Wow, I’ve never seen her like this. Less makeup looks great on her. Even a little more makeup would still look low-key, nice. About the poncho, not so good. I think it is covering up a still-too-heavy body. She has lost some weight and it’s really great, but there’s more to go. Let’s hope she can do it and not bounce back. I’m sure it’s tough. I’m proud of her for going this far.
She probably got Botox after not having it for 9 months.. noticed this with a lot of people.. after nursing or birth they get Botox they weren’t allowed to use while pregnant/trying to conceive.

Pretty, yes. Young, no. She looks her age, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I will never understand society’s obsession with clinging to youth, especially when it comes to women. A person can look their exact age and still look attractive and healthy.

I can’t hate on Mimi no matter how hard I try. She is one of those Divas that you just laugh WITH. Marriage to Nick has been very good for her (hope the same for him too) as well as pregnancy. I know she is trimmer than she appears but I’m so glad she isn’t one of those who insists on showing the whole world how fast she lost the baby weight by parading in a bikini 2 weeks after delivery.
