  1. What is with those ridiculous bangs???? They are so hideous.

  2. Hip-ster says:

It looks like an Asian boy.

  3. brin says:

Too bad they already cast “Moe” in the 3 Stooges movie.

  4. Rita says:

She looks like she should have an on/off button and it’s obvious Daniel Graig’s mother bought his jeans hoping he’d grow into them.

    • Erinn says:

Hahaha, you don’t know how many times I was told “You’ll grow into them” as a kid. The sum total of my height is 5’2″- I didn’t grow into ANYTHING.

  5. Cam says:

i think she looks awesome. Its a refreshing after all the usual young actress carpet looks. I think it doesn’t work for everyone, but it works for her, yes, even the bangs.

    • Trillion says:

I totally agree. She has a distinct look that is not based on trying to look hot or sexy. She also doesn’t look like Rachel Zoe (or some other hollywood stylist) got her hands on her and made her into some version of herself. I appreciate it when women go for interesting over sex bomb – (Tilda, Bjork, Helena, Joanna Newsom, Allison Mossheart, etc.)

      • Cam says:

Yeah, i love most of those ladies you mentioned. Helena has a crazy-dark-messy style and i love her for it. And here Rooney reminds me a lot of Tilda.

I think her “androgynous” look is a very appealing take on femininity and i think she wears it well. I’d take this over the “america’s sweetheart” or the “sex bomb” look you mentioned any day. But i’m also the kind of person that still thinks Bjork’s “Swan Dress” was one of the best red-carpet looks ever, and the eggs she “laid” on the carpet was pure genius, haha.

Another lady i think does feminine and edgy well is Cate Blanchett. Some of her dresses are straight up sci-fi and i love it.

  6. Tierra says:

Her hair really creeps me out. she looks like she belongs on the Star Trek Enterprise.

  7. lrm says:

yea, i dont think she looks edgy or try hard. she just looks comfortable in what she’s wearing, to me. it suits her. she has a more northern european look to her-and since they are promo-ing the film in europe right now, it works. they want the swedes to see it, right? lol
    just being silly….

    • Nina says:

Comfortable? You must be kidding, everything about her is so forced, it’s annoying. It’s clear that she’s still in character, she’s still playing Lisbeth, that’s not her style. Don’t you remember when she used to be the smiley/sweet girl?

  8. Liz says:

I don’t mind her fringe – she had to cut it for TGWTDT and is clearly growing it out. For that, I have nothing but sympathy. In fact, I think she’s carrying it off rather well.

I get that she’s trying to promote the film and find a distinctive style. Being generic in Hollywood is not good, career wise.

I just wish the effort wasn’t so visible. I feel like telling her to *act* like she’s not trying, godammit. If she’s as wonderful an actress as she thinks she is, then that shouldn’t be a problem.

  9. ruby says:

AAAAArgh Rooney is becoming unbearable. Try hard and plain ugly. I wonder who on earth thought this whole look would work ? And the bandy legs… Once I noticed them, now I keep seeing them. Very unsexy.

  10. GirlyGirl says:

She was born a dude right?

  11. Cidee says:

    D. Craig looks like Dorf on Golf in those jeans.

  12. layla says:

Now that the knock knee issue has been pointed out… I can’t UNSEE it. Ugh.

  13. Rhiley says:

If Coraline and Ruth Bader Ginsburg ever had a baby it would be this chick.

  14. rundee says:

I like her look. Especially the bangs with the non-visible make-up.
Not the usual prom-queen-style, but maybe it´s because I´m northern-european…

  15. layla says:

OK. I just google imaged here… I couldn’t even remember what she looked like in TSN.

Entitled, aloof, bratty, whatever… the girl IS VERY VERY pretty.

  16. ruby says:

That’s subjective… Even with (admittedly) a much better hairstyle, something is still off to me. I’m not impressed by Rooney. There are much prettier and more talented girls out there for sure. Maybe I’m overcritical but hey, I love being bitchy about celebs and I guess this is the right place ?

  17. mln76 says:

Eh right now I’m indifferent to her. Her fanboys are annoying but the buzz’ll fade down once she isn’t nominated for an Oscar( if she is I’ll start hating her big time).

  18. Audrey says:

I LOVE that outfit and I think the haircut suits her.

  19. Jessica says:

Something about her just SCREAMS Demi Moore… her eyes, face, something…

  20. TheOriginalKitten says:

    LMFAO at all the comments.

  21. Artisan says:

Um, please tell me Daniel Craig was called in a middle of his “quickie”, tried to button up his pants but lost the button.

  22. Delta Juliet says:

As a proud wearer of bangs (yes! and I ADMIT it!) for most of my life, I have to say, these are the worst bangs I have ever seen. The straight-across cut is awful…I know she’s growing them out or something, but couldn’t she break them up a little bit, or brush them to the side? It’s hideous.

    • Erinn says:

I had straight across bangs most of my childhood. I’ve never not had some form of bangs. But they never looked that bad! It’s almost like she has bang extensions clipped in, not for length- but for thickness.

  23. astronomer says:

She looks like a member of the romulan or vulcan tribe from Star Trek. Spocky bangs trauma.

  24. Lindsey says:

UGH. I’m already so sick of this snobby bitch. She made one anticipated movie and suddenly she thinks she’s so holy. I just want to punch her. STFU bitch, you’re not even cute.

  25. NeoCleo says:

    . . . “corpsey, secretarial hell.”

That phrase is pure bitchy genius!

  26. Darla says:

She is so far into that character there is no retrieving her.

  27. SEF says:

Seriously people. . . this chick has not done enough to warrant so much hate. She was really good in a movie most of you didn’t see. The role involved a crazy hairstyle, and she’s likely filming the sequel soon so she has to keep the crazy hair.

Compared to the Kate Hudsons/Cameron Diaz/Aniston types, I’ll take Mara anyday. At least there’s some talent there. Just b/c Kaiser got all holier than thou b/c she gave a couple of bad interviews, doesn’t mean we need to tear her down before her career has barely begun.

    • Erinn says:

She gave a few bad interviews all at once. It’s not like she’s a brand new actress who knows nothing about publicity. Her family is famous. You would think after coming off so badly in the first interview that she would have at least attempted to watch what she says from there on out. But she didn’t. She comes off as an entitled brat who’s ungrateful for the opportunities that she has been given. Maybe she was raised to be an entitled bitch, or maybe she just turned out that way.

Maybe she is a lovely person if you actually know her- but she has done nothing to endear her to me. The multiple negative interviews are just obnoxious. One is forgivable, but what three or four all at the same time- it’s a bit much.

She was a stunning girl before the haircut- I will agree with that. But her styling is awful in these photos.

      • SEF says:

It just seems like most of the negative stuff we’re hearing comes from the small excerpts CB feeds us. I’ve watched full interviews with her and will agree – she’s not the best interview at all. But not nearly as bad as the excerpts indicate.

  28. RachelFan says:

Great links, thanks Kaiser. Did you hear that Lea Michele lost the role of Eponine in the new Les Mis? Also, it looks like they are going for Taylor Swift for that part instead. I do like that Amanda Seyfried got offered Cosette because she is classically trained. However, this movie seems like a potential train wreck (what with Anne Hathaway and all these other crazy castings). Maybe it’s best that Lea lost the part and if Amanda turns it down so be it…we’ll see!

    http://broadwayworld.com/article/Amanda-Seyfried-Taylor-Swift-Complete-LES-MISERABLES-Film-Cast-20120103

What do you think? Have you heard anything about this? Any new scoops?

  29. Hanna says:

I feel bad for her, eating an orange and stuff while looking at these pictures of her… no joke haha

  30. Original Bee says:

Someone needs to check Rooney’s eyes. If they’re glowing it might be time for Harrison Ford to retire her.

  31. Franny says:

the worst part of the work day is when the links page comes up.

  32. LR says:

Finally saw her in GWTDT and I agree with the majority of critics – she was really terrific. I also like her defined style & how well it sets her apart from other actresses in her age group. She’s definitely unique-looking (and God forbid a pale-skinned woman doesn’t bother to slather herself in obvious make-up)

Also, I didn’t care one way or another about this girl before, but the relentless bashing & sniping leveled at her on CB is making me root for her. I hope she keeps getting roles & critical acclaim, and annoying the hell out of the haters.

BTW, all famous people (i.e. people who need to sell an image to the public) are “try-hards”.

    • izzyvalentine says:

True that! Totally agree! She was fabulous in GWTDT- I think here on CB the personal feelings towards her had a huge impact on their criticism of her acting. Didn’t like her as a person from her interviews- but she was awesome as Lisbeth!

    • Cam says:

Word, to all of this. I couldn’t have expressed it any better. I just want to add, that i love her as an actress and that i hope she makes smart choices with her career. Can’t wait to see more from her.

  33. Jenn says:

I hate bullying. I think she looks adorable and she has her own style and she has a unique look – more power to her. Why bash her for it? Besides, while all the negative nellies are insultng her, she is traveling all over the world to movie premiers….GIRL POWER!

  34. Beth says:

She looked nice in that Facebook movie. Now she just looks androgynous and boring. Her look would have been totally awesome in 1998.

  35. anahata says:

I think she looks great. Very model-y. Absolutely beautiful. So tired of the over makeuped, blond tan bs.

  36. CeeCee says:

the fringe is a lil severe but I like her style. Far better than the fake-tanned, fake t*ts, fake hair, short-sparkly-dress-wearing slags out there.

  37. Afsoneh says:

It’s RoN Paul. I absolutely love the posts concerning celebrities, though!

  38. Meadowlark says:

I am so turned off by her personality and how she comes off in interviews, but I like her androgynous style a lot. And I like this weird coat thing. /shrug

  39. Hm says:

She’s staying somewhat in character for the promotion tour. I think she’ll loosen up afterward, unless she’s permanently damaged by her role in the movie.

  40. JaneWonderfalls says:

Please tell me she is not becoming Hollywood’s new weird goth girl. It’s the New Year so I will not throw to many darts at this girl yet, But I fear she is treading thin with me and her word vomit!

  41. Koa says:

    She’s not even remotely attractive…

  42. CatJ says:

    Kaiser,
Found this on our local news entertainment page, and thought you might like it, if you haven’t seen it already.here’s a certain amount of public scrutiny and speculation that comes with being a celebrity but, apparently, LeAnn Rimes doesn’t believe it should extend to her reproductive intentions (or getting caught playing the role of mistress?)

Related: Photo Gallery – Country Stars’ Jobs that came B4 the Fame

The prolific tweeter was steamed the other day (Monday), after reading someone’s ponderings over her possible infertility, and let her following have it…

…”I have never even tried (to conceive a child). Please stop discussing my ovaries.” tweeted LeAnn, who later added, “unfortunately it’s beyond not true & not something I feel people should throw around cause it takes some couples a long time to conceive & some never can. You didn’t offend me, I just think it’s crazy that people make articles out of nonsense, so when it comes to me and all the speculation I have to laugh :)”
Hmm…didn’t sound much like she was laughing to me. What do you think?

Do you think celebrities like LeAnn Rimes should get miffed about personal questions?
Suck it up buttercup…that’s the price of fame
Don’t blame her. Some things should remain sacred. Even for celebs
If she doesn’t want people asking about her personal life, she shouldn’t be tweeting details all day

  43. Heather says:

So Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are together? Didn’t know that but that is one HOT couple!

  44. NotaBitterBetty says:

What’s with all the accusations of bullying and relentless bashing? There are several celebrities who are criticised on here on a near daily basis, but I suppose Rooney doesn’t deserve it but they do? Please. The chick might be a good actress but so what? She comes across as entitled and pretentious and that’s on her. You can be original and opinionated without being ungrateful or snooty. You can be as talented as all get out (and frankly I don’t think she’s that great of an actress) but if you’re an unpleasant personality, nobody has to like you, especially on a gossip website.

    • ruby says:

Word. No one defends Gwyneth Paltrow. Double standard much ?
Just read the name of the site – it’s celebitchy. This is somewhere we can rant and bitch about celebrities without worrying about people going all politically correct on us.

I dislike Rooney Mara and would prefer other more deserving actresses to get the opportunities she’s getting. So sue me.

      • MST says:

I agree, Ruby. She can’t help being born into a wealthy, famous family, but the attitude is a turn-off. Also, without all that makeup, she looks like your Generic Pale-Skinned,Kinda Short, Flat-Chested Irish Girl.

  45. erin says:

Ugh. Star Trek trauma. Rooney isn’t growing those bangs out yet because she keeps cutting them this way. If she were growing them out they’d look way better by now. She needs to at least fringe them out and go for more of a pixi cut to fight the fug. And she comes across as a bit of a bitch. Just sayin’.

  46. Maya says:

Don’t know which one is worse to look at, her or him.

    • MST says:

I never thought Daniel Craig was attractive, either. If his head was a little rounder, he’d look like Alfred E. Newman’s distant cousin.

  47. Dee Cee says:

The iconoclastic gifts of the visually striking and fiercely talented Scottish actress Tilda Swinton, can not be duplicated in dark tones.. forget it Rooney, your taste for the unique and bizarre, are not her genuinely interesting gender-mind bending roles.. personal quote. I don’t work the future – I don’t want to know what’s coming. I don’t feel I need any guarantees.

  48. A Man says:

As probably the only guy commenting here I want to say Rooney Mara looks adorable. All the commentators are mostly ugly women, personality-wise at least.

  49. stock images says:

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Kudos
