Demi Moore “smoked something” the night of her seizure, probably “k2 spice”

The 911 call for Demi Moore’s medical emergency has been released. I hate listening to 911 calls because they freak me out, but I made sure to listen to this one. The exact name of the drugs the caller admits Demi was on have been redacted due to privacy laws. Two different women and a man speak to the 911 operator. They say that Demi is convulsing, that she’s burning up, and that she’s unable to speak until towards the end of the call, when she stopped convulsing and was able to say something. As for what she’s been on they state two different things, the first of which is redacted and the second they say she smoked. Here’s more:

“She smoked something, it’s not marijuana, it’s similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions.”

The caller describes what Demi took. “Some form of [edited out] and then she smoked something.”

She’s been having some issues lately with some other stuff so I don’t know what she’s been taking or not.”

911 Operator: “Has she done this before?

“I don’t know, there’s been some stuff recently that we’re all just finding out.”

[From Radar and 911 call]

In the quoted text above I included the two statements that were the most telling to me about this call: that Demi has been “having some issues lately with some other stuff,” and that “there’s been some stuff recently.” That points to other ongoing drug use, possibly Adderall as we’ve heard.

The first drug that is redacted could be nitrous oxide, aka whip-its, as was previously reported. Radar has more information on what Demi could possibly have smoked. They say that it’s probably something called K2 Spice, which they state is a “currently legal herbal incense product spiked with powerful designer drugs.” It sounds nasty and dangerous. Here’s more, from Radar:

According to Hunterdon Drug Awareness Program, “The terms Spice and K2 refer to commercially available products that have been sprayed with research chemicals called synthetic cannabinoids but do not contain any cannabis (marijuana) components.

“These synthetic cannabinoids have been associated with impaired driving incidents, attempted suicides, and emergency department visits, and have been linked to such adverse effects as increased anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations, respiratory complications, aggression, mood swings, altered perception, and paranoia.”

Dr. Dembo said Demi’s convulsions could have been a result of smoking the substance.

“One of the things whenever you smoke not a grown substance, you are at the mercy of whatever chemicals are in there. It could be laced with something that could have the opposite effect of what you think it will.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Moore was rushed by an ambulance to the hospital following her seizure and is planning to seek help for her health, and will focus on her anorexia problem as well.

[From Radar Online]

I’ve been hearing a lot about the dangers of these new chemical type “over the counter” drugs, like “bath salts” and now “k2 spice.” They’re technically legal in some states as they’re sold for other uses, but they can cause serious medical problems including psychosis and death as they’re full of chemicals of unknown origin.

Demi is home now and I hope for her sake that she enters in patient rehab, starts to wean off the stuff she’s addicted to and gets treatment for her anorexia. Yesterday we heard that she’s been drinking Red Bull constantly along with taking the ADHD stimulant drug Adderall. Energy drink addiction is serious and combined with a prescription stimulant it must have really done a number on her body. I hope she can pull out of this, get sober and get some perspective.

    B|tch is dumb.

    • Camille says:

She is stupid hoe if she has done this because of ashton. Ashton for God sake. No sympathy.

      • sandra says:

LOL but you’re right. It’s Dumb and Dumber – but we always knew that about these two idiots. I’m picturing Demi with her big girl glasses on when she tries to look serious LOLLL.

    • Mimi says:

      Addiction is a b|tch.

  2. poppy says:

has demi filmed her show’s GOOP segment yet?
would love to see them talk about how ‘normal’ women deal with today’s ‘problems’. both of these ‘strong’ ladies have so much to offer in the way of life advice.

to write a cookbook when one doesn’t normally eat solid food will be one of my all time favorite celebrity brain farts.

    • laura says:

soooo agree with you. Tired of hearing celebs touting their health / youthful appearance / vigor to their organic, whole food diets combined with yoga, meditation and exercies when in reality they are polluting their bodies with all kinds of crap (smoking cigs like chimneys, adderal, drinking lcohol in leiu of eating food,’fasting’…) It’s f-ing laughable that they portray themselves as these superhumans when theyre really incredibly insecure, dysfunctional idiots.

    • Ally says:

Actually, many anorexics love to talk about food and cook for others, because it compensates for their sensual deprivation in the matter. Possibly the case with Gwyneth.

  3. Cherry says:

Wow. What an example to set for your teenage daughters. This is so sad.

  4. jc126 says:

It sounds like she was partying with Rumer there. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.

  5. pwal says:

I will never understand Demi Moore. A woman who had an eating disorder centers her career around her appearance? Mind you, Kirstie Alley and Carrie Fisher are now building career momentum around their weight losses.

Demi needs to get it together and stop dancing to some faceless puppetmaster. ‘Looking great’ at 40-something hasn’t translated to a reignited film career, so maybe she should try something else. Concentrating on producing has served her well- no shame in committing to it more than ever.

  6. Happymom says:

I wonder who is going to step in and insist she go to rehab? What a burden on her daughters-ugh. Isn’t Bruce Willis’ new wife about to deliver-I’m sure this isn’t the best time for their family either. How would you like to be having your first baby while your step daughters are having a major crisis and your husband’s ex (who he’s still close to) is on death’s door with multiple addictions? You can have all the money in the world-and be beautiful-and if you don’t have inner happiness-it’s all for naught. I feel for all of them in this situation. I just read Demi’s interview in Harpers-it’s just so sad that despite having 3 daughters, she still feels unloveable.

    • Justaposter says:

ABC news reported that the youngest is living with Bruce and the New Wife (I forgot her name).

I really think that is telling in its self.

I hope that Rumer isn’t caught up in all of this. How horrible would that be. 🙁

      • ccoop says:

I’m sure Rumer feels very responsible for Demi, and has been parenting HER. That’s a position NO child should ever be put in, particularly when the parent’s substance abuse, emotional instability and irresponsible behavior is involved.

      • the original bellaluna says:

So Talula Belle (who is all of 17) is living with her dad & step-mom? That is very telling, and Lordy, what a mess!

I too think Rumer is trying to help Demi as much as possible, but that’s not her responsibility.

They’re ALL caught up in it, those poor girls.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I wonder if Zac Effron was there? Isn’t he supposedly dating Rumor?

  7. lisa says:

    It sad.

The thing is I know women that have been cheated on, lied too, left for other women. Women who were left with small children to take care of and the made it. Made it because they had to. Money does not buy you strength of self or self respect. Having money does not make you make smarter choices. Demi has always talked about how strong she was. How self sufficient. I just don’t thing losing Ashton did this to her. She had substance issues long before meeting him. And maybe she just masked them by making him her new addiction. I don’t know.

But looking at Demi it is easy to see this is what happens to someone with a substance problem. She was not hiding it well. most of them never do.

    • Asli says:

Spot on! This is just sad, sad, sad. She needs help and I’m not going to hate on her because of that. Hope the near-death accident will help her realize she IS loved and needed. It’s crazy that she’s willing to do this to herself when her children are with her most of the time and they witness what she’s doing. Even if they are mostly gorwn-up, seeing that must be traumatizing.

  8. Umlaut says:

That K2 stuff is terrifying. I know a fellow in his 20s who had a full-on psychotic breakdown after using it once. Had to move back in with his parents, couldn’t be left alone for a minute — his mom had to take him everywhere she went. I wouldn’t touch that stuff, ever.

    • Bubbling says:

Agreed! Here in Eu, at least in my country similar stuff appeared. What pisses me off the most is stupidity of people, who think that just because something is for time being legal, made of “herbs, grass and natural” and safe to use…

    • MM says:

It can also cause heart attack (myocardial infarction). Why do we insist on doing this to ourselves?

Oh, and even “grown” weed can be adulterated. I’ve seen adulterated weed lead to psychotic “first breaks” in people probably genetically predisposed to schizophrenia.

      • salamanca says:

Agree. I’m myself “probably genetically predisposed to schizophrenia” and weed done me very wrong few times I smoked that (even if everyone told me-wait, it get’s better the second/third… time, it never did).
I would never try synthetic weed or stuff like that for my sanity sake.

  9. SCREEEE says:

Eek! I’ve been stupid enough to do that at 18, but wised up quickly. How old is this woman?

    http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-terrifying-reasons-you-shouldnt-smoke-synthetic-weed/

  10. Girl says:

Seriously. Prayers for her and her family. And for all addicts.

    • Nanz says:

This is the nicest post. I’m with you.

    • I agree with you. At first I felt no sympathy for her, like she brought this all on herself. Then when I was watching “Entertainment Tonight” last night, I broke down in tears listening to that 911 call while they played a montage of Demis prettiest pictures in the back round. They were almost talking about her like she was dead already and it was heartbreaking. I want this woman to have a come back like John Travolta did with “Pulp Fiction.” So many people are rooting for her. I think she can do it!

    • Sloane Wyatt says:

Thank you for your generous spirit. Everyone of us has in the past, knows someone, or has right now abused something for all kinds of reasons. A divorce and an already in place addiction are a horrible 1 – 2 punch, and I pray too that her children are not scarred by Demi’s choices.

It stinks having to grow up raising yourself, and I really feel for those girls. I truly hope the girls’ father is stepping up to love them and protect them from Mom’s demons.

In my own life, I finally realized that I have Reactive Attachment Disorder after watching the first part of PBS’ ‘This Emotional Life’. I was so very lucky by having ‘church ladies’ in every town seeing that I got food and attention, so I was able to learn about love and how to love from books and have a happy life:).

    • Mauibound says:

My first instinct was to say ” really?? !!! At your age? Come on!!! ” but after I saw your post I thought to myself, no one really knows anothers pain except their own. So I hope for the best for Demi. But I still think she needs to stop partying with the teens, woman you are above that.

      • DrM says:

People don’t make these kinds of ‘choices’ because they are bored, stupid or can find nothing else to do with their lives. They perpetuate these kinds of self destructive behaviours because they are in pain. Looking at Demi Moore over the last few months it was obvious she was really struggling. It isn’t up to us to judge or validate someone elses difficulties. She’s still suffering regardless of what we think. And that’s sad. Its hard to see another human being go through this and I believe that compassion is the order of the day, both for Demi and her girls. I hope she gets the help she needs to get better.

    • Julie says:

@ Girl, don’t know if you will read this late in the game, but thank you. And it’s neat to see someone on here with a heart.

      • EAB says:

I agree. Life is harsh. Demi may have more that most but she still feels as much as anyone else. You cannot buy true peace.

        Empathy is next to godliness.

  11. squaw says:

Just SAD, sad sad sad. Wishing her light at the end of the tunnel.

  12. SolitaryAngel says:

This just keeps getting worse and worse…

  13. Lis says:

She’s pathetic, no doubt about it.

What bothers me about this is that so many commenters are defending Ashton – and how they’re doing so.

I keep seeing people say something along the lines of “hey, at least he’s acting his age, right?”

No. He’s in his mid thirties. He’s a grown up. They are both immature d-bags.

Yah, not strictly relevent, but I think those two completely matched each other. And brought out each others’ worst instincts.

    • ataylor says:

I think the people defending Ashton do so because we can see and realize that he is not responsible for her addictions/actions, unlike what most people AND the media are doing.

And yes, at 33 he is unfortunately acting more mature than 49/50 year old mother of three Demi Moore — who can’t even manage to OD on proper adult drugs but needs to mess around with stupid teenager sh*t with her 23 year old daughter by her side.

NO ONE is defending Ashton for his douchebaggery. That is just inbred.

      • Justaposter says:

And to add to this, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. Perhaps he realized that he couldn’t save her, and could only save himself.
This does not in any way excuse cheating at all.

Sometimes you just cannot help someone who doesn’t want it.

      • salamanca says:

It seems, she should get help years ago. In time some issues don’t disappear just like that. It’s getting worse.
I hope she’ll get mental support, and from specialists.

  14. Dimebox says:

As @pwal noted above, Carrie Fisher and Kirstie Alley have re-energized their careers by going public with their weight loss struggles. They have also owned up to drug abuse problems. Demi is rich, could be beautiful again if healthy, and is a mother. If she would admit her problems, and get help with drug abuse and anorexia, she could be a catalyst for attention to these issues. Getting healthy and being a good mother would make her a star in every way. Go Demi!

  15. luls says:

I know i should be feeling bad for her and her family, but all i feel is disdain at her PATHETIC, immature, STUPID behavior at the so called wise age of 49.

She has so much to be grateful for, but seems to be pissing it away.

    • TG says:

Agree. Demi is a loser and I have no sympathy for her. Do not be a parent if you are not prepared to be a parent for life. Didn’t she leave Hollywood for 10 years or so? Guess she missed the fame and fast life.

    • DreamyK says:

Agreed. She set herself up for failure. She agreed to an open marriage, married a much younger man she then began competing with, didn’t use the tools available to her from her previous rehab stint and just flat out neglected her health. She has children, she has access to vast amounts of money, therapists, adult babysitters..you name it, she could have had it. She’s selfish and pathetic.

The worst? The Very Special Edition of How Demi Beat Her Demons in People Magazine that’s sure to come. Ugh. Just NO.

    • Bodhi says:

Ditto. I’ve never been a fan of Demi, but these last few years have made me really start to loathe her. She was famous as hell in the 80s & sort of in the 90s, she married a famous man, had 3 kids, got publicly divorced & then publicly co-parented her children. And THEN… UGH. Everyone knows that she has had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of plastic surgery trying to regain/reclaim her youth. Grow the hell up already!

  16. Dana M says:

I feel sorry for Demi, I hope she can pull out of this. But most importantly, I feel even worse for her daughters who look up to her as a role model. Her downward spiral must be terrifying for them to witness. I hope that they don’t grow up thinking that abusing drugs is a normal way of coping with difficult life situations. God only knows how long she’s been on all this stuff. Perhaps longer that it may appear.

  17. Tazina says:

Whipits? K2 spice? I must be really out of the loop. I never heard of this stuff. I find it odd a 50 year old woman would bother with this garbage. It seems immature to be sucking on whipped cream cans or smoking some obscure spice. She needs to get a hobby or maybe a boy toy like Jennifer Lopez has. JLo has never looked happier (check Radar Online).

    • Umlaut says:

My suspicion is that she’s worked out a system in her mind where she justifies using certain drugs because to her, nitrous oxide, K2, energy drinks, and Adderall are all legal (doctors use nitrous and Adderall, after all) and don’t violate her sobriety (if the rumors about her being in AA are accurate). That’s the only explanation I can come up with for why she wouldn’t just drink or use typical recreational drugs. It’s bizarre.

      • Kimbob says:

@Umlaut, I find your comment interesting. It’s my understanding that Demi had drinking problems (alcoholic?) at the beginning of her career, & that she went to rehab (I think), & after that, allegedly…no more problems. I didn’t know she aligned herself w/AA.

However, if she did let that “fact” be known, then what you’ve stated seems to me, to ring true. She could’ve been doing drugs & whatever (anything to alter her mind/mood, perceptions) that wasn’t alcohol, per se, but she still clung to the notion she was “in recovery.” If that’s true, that’s some sick-ass thinking. Sad but true, many people “claim” to be in AA (for instance) & abstain from alcohol, but since AA doesn’t directly address “drugs,” these types of individuals feel free to partake of anything they want…just as long as it’s not alcohol.

The only people they’re “fooling” is themselves, though. I go to AA, & in my case, I’m not on any drugs, as well. The programs are spiritually-based, and anyone who is really working the 12 steps and a good program knows that taking any substance (alcohol, or WHATEVER), is trying to alter their mood/mind, perceptions/reality….they are NOT spiritually-based…and NOT in recovery.

If this is the case w/Demi (claims she’s “recovering” still just because she’s not drinking alcohol), it’s just plain sad. She’s not fooling anyone, & the results are always the same….ending up in jails, institutions (this includes hospitals)…..or death.

      • bluhare says:

No one in AA, or at least the AA I went to, would say someone were still in recovery if they were doing other drugs, but no alcohol.

      • Umlaut says:

I agree with you that this is NOT recovery and no decent AA group would publicly support someone abusing legal drugs. But I’ve known plenty of people on “marijuana maintenance”. It does seem like a small minority of people think, “Hey, my problem is with booze (or booze and illegal drugs), so pot / LSD / etc are okay.”

  18. lucy2 says:

I feel badly for her daughters, this has to be scary, and embarrassing that it’s all so public.
Hope she’s OK and gets the help she needs.

  19. layla says:

    Wow.
After watching the Dr OZ link on “Bath Salts'” I goggled MDPV… and have spent the past hour reading the horrifying experiences by users.

Its honestly worth the read for everyone.

“Bath Salts” sold over the counter and K2 Spice just as easily obtained online… I am so glad I do not have kids! (And I am no drug prude but this stuff is scary not only in its effects, but in its ease of access!)

I hope Demi gets the help she needs.

  20. KittyCal says:

K2 is legal and I have tried it before. It’s not something that would give you a seizure really. It’s a very mild and brief high, meant to be a legal alternative to marijuana. I doubt K2 is what sent her into that fit… and I really hope this is a big wake up call for her.

    • Mimi says:

I agree. Maybe she smoked some MDMA or something…I said it yesterday but obviously she’s hit the bottom and even more glaringly obvious is that it’s been coming for a while. Hopefully she gets the help she needs & sticks with it; she’s got issues galore.

      • layla says:

K2 by itself may not lead to convulsions. Like MDMA, it by itself will also not lead to convulsions. (pure, vs junk cut with goodness know what)

However, when you start ingestion cocktails of both recreational and pharma drugs… who knows how each persons physiology and mental capacity will react.

Like you said, I hope she gets the help she needs.

      • KittyCal says:

Yeah, I’m really pulling for her. It seems to me that she’s been in a tail spin for a while and just doesn’t know how to get out. Here’s hoping her daughters stop taking her out and supporting her self-destructive behaviors. If she were my mom I’d be doing everything I could to not support her behavior and offer all my love as well as assistance in her recovery.

  21. Ravensdaughter says:

Honestly, I don’t think she gives a crap whether she lives or dies right now. A broken heart-and humiliation on a gigantic scale-can do that to someone with a fragile sense of self esteem. She has great daughters and great friends and a great ex-husband (a rarity indeed)-time to rally round this woman and remind her of all the blessings she has in her life.
I hope karma bites Kutcher on the ass-hard….

    • ataylor says:

I don’t think this is about a broken heart since she was also getting her jollies on the side, and I doubt there’s much humiliation involved since she was as sexually open as he was. I think this has to do with control and her lack of it regarding Ashton.

But Karma is going to bite her in her ass for not being a good mother and giving her daughters such a bad example. I predict Rumer going the way Demi currently is.

      • ZenB!tch says:

I don’t think it was Kutcher either. I think Kutcher had enough and left and she didn’t see it coming because she was all drugged out. I think she never got over Bruce and Ashton was like a f*ck you to Bruce “Honey look at what I can get, I’m still hot” I never got what she saw in Kutcher.

    • ViloDeMenus says:

This kind of brings to mind Sandra Bullock and the absolutely horrible and very public scandal she was in the middle of through no fault of her own doing and how she handled it all with grace and dignity and some of her best work as an actor. I think it shows how some people can rise above a horrible situation with maturity and class, and how others simply crumble and whatever problems they have are made much worse. It’s too bad Demi couldn’t have pulled a Sandra.

  22. Ravensdaughter says:

Thought-could K2 actually have been ketamine a.k.a. “Special K? I am a pharmacist super-nerd, so I have no idea how it used illegally; all I know is legally it is mostly used as veterinary anesthesia. Since it acts on the central nervous system, seizures could be a possible side effect.

    • layla says:

      Ketamine – Legally it’s a horse tranquilizer isn’t it?

    • Pia says:

I snorted Ketamine in high school once and it gave me an anxiety attack so I never did it again. It is indeed a horse tranq…

    • Floridaseaturtle says:

If that stuff can be sprayed on as a synthetic, possibly. K2 looks like weed, but has stuff sprayed on. It is legal (at least right now) and can be bought in small containers at the privately owned convenient stores down here, at the counters. I know this because I have a 17 year old. He and some buddies got ahold of some. But my son was the one that ended up in the ER.

    • Shannon says:

No, K2 is a synthetic substance that is a molecule away from being THC. It is sprayed onto herbs because it’s not actually a plant, just a liquid designed in a lab.

I’ve tried it, and it is definitely not ketamine. It was sold over the counter here in MN until the courts ordered a 1 year ban on sales until it could be studied for safety. If it were ketamine, it never would have been legal to sell in the first place.

Usually people who have adverse reactions to K2 are mixing it with other drugs (illegal or prescription), energy drinks or alcohol, or haven’t tried marijuana, and it doesn’t seem to react very well with them. Like I said, I’ve tried it. The effect was the same as smoking weed, although the aftertaste wasn’t very pleasant and I prefer good old natural pot.

I can understand the confusion, it’s quite new and it’s only really popular among college-aged young adults. I’m baffled at Demi using it. She’s obviously hanging out with a crowd that is much younger than she is.

All I have to say is, if weed were legal people wouldn’t be fiddling with chemicals in labs like this to mimic it. At least THC is safe. We can’t know that chemically similar synthetic substances are.

  23. kimberly says:

LMAO wasn’t it salvia she was smoking?

omg people who smoke that “legal” stuff are total losers and I’m REALLY embarrassed for them!

Call me a snob, but where I live (pacific nw)no one uses the stuff, it’s just a huge joke to us, but it’s even a bigger joke that people actually try to show off by smoking it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL HAHAHAHAHAHA

I’m shocked that celebs actually smoke that corporate joke!

  24. Asli says:

    @Layla – I think it is.

  25. Quinn says:

This would go a long way towards explaining the “five pounds of crap in a fifty pound bag” look she’s sporting. Lord.

  26. grey says:

Her and Bruce obviously have a great relationship as far as exes are concerned. Why did they break up exactly?

    • aprayerforthewildatheart says:

This is what I heard. BW cheated throughout their marriage, he wasn’t happy with himself. He loved their family, there was shame and regret, but he didn’t stop. He had some substance abuse issues. After DM found out, there was cheating on both sides. They really loved each other, but decided to end it. I heard they’re both very kind, and generous people, really down to earth.

      • ataylor says:

I heard Bruce was but a few people on the Haily, Idaho city boards don’t have very kind things to say about Demi.

      • aprayerforthewildatheart says:

Well, the person I heard this from worked with and knew them both, and the kids. Maybe Demi is not so friendly to strangers. They said DM was very welcoming to a friend they brought around, but that the friend was intimidated because DMs personality is strong. This person has a strong personality as well and isn’t easily intimidated so that may be it, or maybe DM has changed.

  27. aprayerforthewildatheart says:

Demi has serious substance abuse issues, she should be in rehab. If she’s an addict she needs help, her family should plan an intervention. This is not a case of partying to much, this is pure self-destruction, and addiction. She needs help before she ends up dead. I can’t believe she’s at home, she needs intense, in-patient rehab ASAP. Her family needs to take a stand if they love her so much.

    • ataylor says:

I agree. SHE SHOULD NOT be at home.

    • Em says:

No matter how many interventions and loving family members she has around her you can’t help those who won’t help themselves. Recovery is up to Demi and it seems like she is too deep into her own pity party and self-absorption to care. I’m beginning to see why Ashton wanted out.

      • aprayerforthewildatheart says:

You are right, but I think she would do it for her kids if they asked. I know that’s not the ideal, but it could be a start.

  28. the original bellaluna says:

I clicked on that “bath salts” link – YIKES! Those poor parents. Absolutely unacceptable that something like this is for sale at all, let alone OTC.

    • layla says:

Horrifying right! I can not even begin to fathom…

After watchign that link, I then curiously googled MDPV (the active ingredient in Bath Salts) and found a site where people have accounted thier experiences with the drug.

UNBELIEVABLE and horrifying at the same time.

  29. Pia says:

I live near Bangor, ME which is currently dealing with the biggest bath salts problem in the country. After what I have heard about this stuff, you would have to be completely insane to still want to try it. It makes people literally go crazy. One woman tried to kill her grandmother with a machete because she was “out to get her”. Another man who was still high on it after he got arrested, squeezed his balls so hard they popped and he bled to death in his cell. Heard this right from a correctional officer, and there are new articles in the paper with arrests almost every day. It is already illegal here in Maine, but I guess you can still order it online. Needless to say the type of people involved in this drug are very sketchy, this is not a “party drug” and is very much looked down upon, like meth and other hard drugs.

  30. catt says:

As far as Demi always saying how strong how empowered she is…yeah right. Easy to say hard to actually BE. Obviously when her life was going well its easy to get cocky and say that but when real strength of character is called for she drops the ball. I don’t think she ever had any of those great character traits in the first place she just wanted to think she did.
I never liked her. I always got a narcissistic all about me vibe from her like most celebs but in her case she has nothing IMO to back it up…no real talent nothing to offer of substance. And whats going on now with her validates my opinion.

  31. Meanchick says:

I feel sorry for her. She is crying out for help and because she’s a celeb, it’ll probably ignored until it’s too late.

  32. the original bellaluna says:

I’m not going to hate on her, because she’s in a really bad place right now. And while I haven’t been in HER particular place (no drugs/drinking/money), I’ve been in bad places of my own.

I made it through with the love of my parents & siblings; my church family; working to support my adorable children; and two very dear friends who let me vent and scream and cry like a maniac when my children weren’t home.

    Chick needs help. STAT.

    • ZenB!tch says:

I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder on a good day. This means I can take Xanax legally WOO HOO! You can add Depression on a very bad day. So does my BFF and another of my close friends was just diagnosed BiPolar2. I wonder if Demi has one of these things. Women seem to be more prone to these than men.

Don’t forget Demi is not alone this week. Heather Locklear had a similar issue. I hate Heather Locklear for a nonsensical reason. She married Tommy Lee when we all knew he belonged to my 16 year old BFF Sandi!

When Heather went in, for the first time in my post 16 year old life I felt bad for her. These women are hired for their looks. Fresh faced gorgeous 20 year olds. Then they turn 40 and no matter what they look like no one wants them anymore. It must be horrible to go through. It even happens to the best of actresses and these woman are not the best of them. My generation seems to have bought some time and have until 50 before we disappear. Nicole is still hanging in there as is Cate. Even Heather Graham is still kicking around.

      • bluhare says:

me too, Zen B!tch. I don’t get the big deal over Xanax, though. All it ever does is make me feel normal!

      • the original bellaluna says:

Wow! I’m glad you’re diagnosed and doing well.

I said this about ME!Ann earlier this week, but is it possible Demi is manic/depressive? Her lows seem very low.

I know she’s struggled with addiction in the past (the Devil’s dandruff, I do believe) and now seems to have been struggling with addiction for a little while now.

Excellent points, BTW – it’s deplorable to me that women are “put out to pasture” at 40 while Liam Neeson (sorry Liam, you know I love you!) is becoming an action hero at 60.

What is it they say? When men age they get “dignified;” when women age, they just get old. (I think that’s right.)

  33. Momo says:

I feel bad for her because she’s been publicly living in denial her whole life about preferring women and running away from her own happiness.

  34. Willow says:

She needs to stop chasing her youth and start chasing her mental health. I find her choices disgusting. I mean honestly, in front of her daughter? Wow.

  35. Riana says:

This is crazy. There’s so much wrong with this woman. What’s truly awful to me is she’s getting caught up in this destructive kiddy behavior smoking a bunch of crap thrown into a jar. God. Are you freaking kidding me???

I’m less than half her age and u find nothing more stupid!

If you want to do drugs then be an adult and do drugs, at least if you fuck up and nearly kill yourself they’ll know how to treat you. This bull…you could die and the doctors would be scratching their heads.

God…putting her kids through this, she could do so much better with her life and jnstead she’s choosing to destroy what little legacy she has.

    • ZenB!tch says:

I did all sorts of these things in my late teens and early 20s but a bell went off in my head around 26 or 27. “Zen, that’s not cute anymore you’ve somehow become a grown woman! It’s time to let the teens have their moment.”

  36. e.non says:

i just wonder what all that crap does to her liver/kidneys/heart…

  37. cprincess says:

    @kimbob
“Sad but true, many people “claim” to be in AA (for instance) & abstain from alcohol, but since AA doesn’t directly address “drugs,” these types of individuals feel free to partake of anything they want…just as long as it’s not alcohol”

    ””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””’
I don’t know where you live but here in LA AA/CA/NA all mean the same thing-complete abstinence.
Most addicts go to AA here because its convenient -I cannot think of one person I know who would consider themselves sober while partaking in any
drugs and we all use the big book….

    • ZenB!tch says:

I heard rumors Demi had been drinking but alcohol has calories so unless that is ALL she is ingesting, I don’t think she’s drinking.

  38. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Adderall (an amphetamine) has LOTS of contraindications. My husband was prescribed adderall for ADHD and was told it shouldn’t be mixed with antidepressant SSRI’s and that he needed to cut back on orange juice. Smoking K2 or bath salts while eating/snorting adderall and downing redbull is a Bad combination. I’m guessing the seizures and “fever” we’re the result of a drug interaction.

  39. Hootie Hoo says:

She is messed up. The damage she has done to her body will mean a short life span. If only these celebs with eating addiction could see how superficial and just plan shameful considering many people go to bed with no food or clean water on a daily basis.
I’d suggest they volunteer their time over in Eastern Africa and see what its like to truly be suffering.

    • Kimlee says:

That’s not going to help some people, look at Deim she been to Eastern Africa and seen starving children, sick and it still didn’t help her she the light, that their is more important thing in the world but ones on vanity.

  40. Jen34 says:

She’s in Charlie Sheen territory now. Good luck, Demi.

  41. Nudgie says:

After she could talk, her first word was “Ditto.”

  42. Bej says:

Who does this kind of shit at that age? It just seems so bizarre to me. And embarrassing! But I do think she has probably had a drug problem for some time, well before the divorce, Ashton cheating or any of her recent dramas. Maybe even before she even married Ashton. Marrying him was probably a result of her addictions and issues, not the cause. She’s always seemed a little off to me & had a sense of desperation about her. Definitely not an air of strong independent woman that’s for sure. Let’s hope though, if she was out partying with Rumer when this happened, that it wasn’t Rumer she was doing these low rent drugs with. Pretty sad any parent that is so caught up in their own addictions that they use with their kids. Happens though, a lot more than it should :/

  43. ZenB!tch says:

Dating myself here but that K2 stuff reminded me of that “Locker Room” amyl nitrate stuff we used to sniff in the 80s. Technically, it was legal if you were over 18 but it’s not good for you.

I’m wondering if all those uppers are what keep her so thin?

  44. ZenB!tch says:

Is it just me or are we much more judgmental of other women? There is a comment above about “putting her kids though this.” Her kids are more or less all grown. It’s sad but no one seemed worried about Charlie Sheen’s kids last year and we should be considering their mom is a bigger mess than Demi Moore. Demi’s kids seem to be decent young women which is a huge thing for Hollywood kids. They are not alone, their dad is in the picture and he seems normal for a huge movie star. Having a sick parent is a sad thing (whatever illness it is) but these girls have a a support system. If the youngest is under age she has a place to go. Charlie’s toddlers are SOL.

There have been studies done about this judgment toward other women. It’s not that we are bitchy – really – really. It’s that we know how much we do and how much we can do that we hold ourselves and each other to a much higher standard than we do men. The study was about why Hillary lost the primary and that was basically what they came up with. She couldn’t meet our high standards. I just thought it was the generation gap between Baby Boomer and GenX/Y women.

  45. Cerulean says:

She needs to get it together. All that plastic surgery and she looks terrible anyway. She looks unhealthy and no better than a street junkie.

  46. moopsie says:

She is in heart-broken “I don’t give a fuck anymore” territory. Party on Demi!!! ….kidding

  47. shoeaddict says:

In all due respect, y’all need to open your effin eyes as to what is going on here. This “incident” of Demis’ is not a result of a “recently” broken heart but a end result of a adderall habit getting out control. She is in Lohan territory in the above pictures-LOOK AT HER FACE-now while she doesn’t have Crackie’s fish lips, thankfully, she’s still tweaking none the same. Ashton alluded to this when they split up by saying it was “tough love”. It’s impossible to maintain a healthy intimate relationship with someone who has a speed habit whether the sober partner is a d-bag or not.
In her vain attempt at maintaining her slender youth, she has been cranking on speed to rival now Crackie’s habit. If you take too much it can cause high fevers and seizures just by itself. Add it to K-2 spice or whip its and viola…a trip to the hospital. She is literally killing her heart and brain here, folks. This isn’t some embarassing juvenile stunt gone wrong here. Does anyone get this?
What is troubling is that she was actually doing whip its and smoking K-2 spice while her daughter Ru was there. Since Ru was talking to the 911 dispatch, she had to be present while her mother was doing it and possibly doing it herself. This would explain why Demi was getting high off of juvenile sh*t more suited for her kids than herself. This screams White Oprah like dysfunctional family sh*t.
I can’t be sympathetic because she has been cramming her women empowerment and “look at me I’m so fabulous” bullshit down our throats for years. Ironically, she has now been replaced in her role as the ultra feminist Steinam in the Lovelace biopic. So much for women empowerment,eh? Now losing roles due to her drug problems-sound familar?
Now while she hasn’t been hitting baby strollers and being popped for DUIS like Crackie, they are, in fact, the same. This isn’t a broken heart, its a speed addiction. Not only is she Crackie 2.0 but she almost reached River Phoenix status: convulsing and dying while family and friends frantically looked on.

  48. girlygirl410 says:

I think she fell of the wagon when she decided to divorce and when her AA advisor died. It was to much for her to handle. I honestly do not think she was using when she was with Ashton. She is in a bad place but I am sure she can pull out of it. I wish she could move back to Idaho and date that Karate instructor, she was once with, and find herself. Moving back to Hollywood was her down fall, she got back into movies, found Ashton and her own personal hate. I think, it is time for her to grow up and move away from the lime light!

  49. cr says:

“I just saw her and she’s doing great. I think she’s doing much better than it’s made out to be,” she told American website E! Online. “Demi is awesome and so strong. I also hate when people make it a bigger drama than what is going on. She’s great.” …
Meanwhile, a source has claimed that Demi’s current issues aren’t about her split from estranged-husband Ashton Kutcher. ..
“I’m sure Ashton would like to think it’s all about him. What [Demi’s] going through now is not just things not working out with Ashton. It’s really more about the toll it takes on any ambitious woman in this town,” the friend said. “Meaning constantly having to prove you’re not just a pretty face but a talented actor, as well…
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/celebrities/6333596/Demi-Moore-is-doing-great
I hate saying this but it sounds like they’re enabling her.

  50. LeeLoo says:

I will buy that her current issues have probably been around longer than the problems with Ashton. It doesn’t in any way shape or form excuse Ashton’s behavior but I will say for myself that if Ashton was dealing with Demi’s addiction issues I understand why he did what he did. I cheated on my ex with my current boyfriend because I could no longer handle my ex’s emotional abuse and addiction issues. If Ashton felt the same way, he was probably looking to 1)passive aggressively end the relationship (while Demi resisted) 2)was looking to find someone that he truly desired. I tried to leave but my ex was only becoming more and more manipulative about it so while I stayed my mind had checked out a long time ago. I know it sounds messed up but without my current boyfriend helping me get away, I doubt I would’ve had the strength to get away on my own. It’s not right and I am not trying to justify Ashton’s or my own behavior but I am beginning to have a little more empathy for Ashton’s position and seeing that he may have gone through the same things with Demi that I did with my ex.

My experience with my ex who suffered from similar addictions has left with the attitude of if she really wants to be selfish and kill herself with drugs, she just needs to do so and not leave a mess for anyone to clean up. I think this whole OD thing may have been more an intentional cry for attention than an accidental cry for help. So you know what, I will agree she needs to be in rehab but no one can make her go. But we need to stop with this whole “poor Demi” crap. Demi is perfectly capable of helping herself if she wants to. If she doesn’t want help what can anyone really do? How do most you handle your kids when they have a temper tantrum? You ignore them right? Well we need to do the same with Demi, we need to ignore her pleas for attention until she wants to be an adult and get attention the same an adult gets attention. The media really needs to stop coddling celebrities who do idiotic things like this. I know this sounds heartless but hey it’s her life, if she wants to destroy her life and reputation that’s her call. Not ours.

  51. ViloDeMenus says:

She was partying with girls half her age and does anyone else find it interesting that the police have now redacted any reference to the drugs the 911 caller described to the operator? The tape they are now releasing has the whip its redacted and the description of the spice or incense she supposedly was smoking. The police chief said it was to protect her privacy, which I found sort of funny in a peculiar way. It is a medical call and maybe her attorney’s called the police to claim HIPPA rights being invaded.

I feel sorry for her that any of this was made public. She would have been better off just smoking pot, not having a seizure and all this bad publicity on top of whatever damage she did to her health. That must have been some party she had with her kids and their friends, one no one will ever forget. There’s something to be said about having friends your own age and not trying to be a party monster.

    • cr says:

I’m presuming it’s HIPAA, if she didn’t give permission for the ‘health’ related items to be heard on the recording it’s much much better from a legal standpoint to err on the side of extreme caution than to risk a very large fine.

  52. Kris says:

Demi will continue on the wrong road completely enabled by her minions. Some people can withstand abusing their bodies, but most cannot. Demi, who knows, may last another couple of decades.
Hopefully, the media lets go of her long before that.

  53. katie says:

I saw a show on ‘legal highs’ and they interviewed this Doctor who basically said if you’re going to get high, do the illegal stuff, like weed, because at least we know the affects to a point, unlike stuff like salvia or other stuff that’s been manufactured. I think salvia is grown not manufactured, but apparently its more potent then weed.
