Balthazar Getty and Sienna Miller broke up

Sienna and Balthazar are shown on 8/10/08

The fling that cemented Sienna Miller’s reputation as a homewrecker has officially ended: Balthazar Getty, the oil heir who left his wife and four children, is no longer shamelessly gallivanting the globe with Miller, who enjoyed taking off her bikini top during their brief vacations. A word of advice to wives of rich and famous men: keep your hubby on a short leash, because Sienna’s on the loose again.

Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty have split, the actress tells Usmagazine.com.

“I’m single at the moment, and I’m completely happy with that,” she said Friday at the Hollywood Dominoes: VIP Launch in London. “It’s nice not to have a relationship that the press constantly want to scrutinize and discuss. I’m cool with being on my own.”

Miller and Getty’s romance first made headlines in July when Getty, 33 — who was married at the time — was photographed kissing a topless Miller, 26, on a boat in Italy. (Miller later sued two British newspapers and a photo agency for breach of privacy for publishing the steamy shots.)

On July 21, the Brothers & Sisters star announced that he and wife Rosetta (with whom he has four children) were separated.

“In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further,” he said.

In August, Miller’s home in North London was vandalized with the word “slut.”

Around the time, her mother defended the relationship and called for an end to the “feeding frenzy” surrounding the scandal.

“You can’t understand how a woman seeing a man who has been separated from his wife for months can cause such a scandal,” she told the U.K.’s Daily Express. “It’s awful, I can’t tell you. You wonder when it’s all going to stop.”

[From Us Weekly]

The Daily Mirror reported last week that the whirlwind romance between Getty and Miller was starting to cool - apparently, the couple couldn’t agree on where they would live together. Getty wanted to remain in the U.S., where his children live and his ABC show, “Brothers and Sisters,” is filmed, while Miller insisted that they live in London. Further, Balthazar wasn’t into Miller’s boozing and partying, as he is a recovering alcoholic. I guess they couldn’t come to an agreement. Somewhere, poor Rhys Ifans is having a good laugh right now.

    Scumbags.

For the sake of all other people potentially getting involved in the future and their feelings.

I don’t think anyone should deserve to waste any heart on either one of these monsters.

  5. i dont get the big deal with her - she didnt force him to drop his pants! Brad cheated on Jennifer but that was ok??? Britney cheated on Justin, the beloved JFK cheated, Clinton cheated! Come on hypocrites sort yourself out! pick an angle and be consistant. You either need to sit on the sidelines and cheer for him being a badboy or bitch about the woman and treat them like pariahs, but pick one and stick to it

  6. Jax, for all those people you have mentioned, the public opinion is strongly against them. Even Brangelina, I assure you there will be no tears when Brad finally runs off with Zahara like Mia Farrow’s daughter did. No one likes home wreckers.

  7. What could she of possibly expected from a man who has FOUR little kids!!!! That, no matter how depressing his marriage may of been, is hard to walk away from.

It always seemed like he was taking a p$ssy vacation, and in more ways then one!

“..when Brad finally runs off with Zahara like Mia Farrow’s daughter did..”

@Yourself - Mia Farrow’s daughter ran off with Zahara? I don’t pay a huge amount of attention to these things but I really don’t think that happened. Someone needs a battery change.

Of course the ultimate Fitzgerald heroine was called Daisy, non?

  20. Yep, The Great Gatsby. Did you remember how gorgeous Robert Redford was in that film?
Check out the resemblance to Brad Pitt, eerie.

He IS morphing into Robert Redford! His face is a bit fleshier but as he ages –who knows? They could easily play father and son

The thing about Gravatar is there is NOWHERE to go to get support — the way I had to change to this one was by adding a new email and using that…I got sick to death of the old one….as you do

  22. Hey CB — Comments on the Britney thread are locked down/not available.

Since I’m here, I’ll comment on this one. I don’t like Sienna Miller but the comments along the lines of ‘lock up your husband’s, Sienna’s on the loose’ aren’t remotely fair. She may be a tramp, but she IS single. How ’bout a little sympathy for her - these grown ass men take advantage of a ‘p$ssy holiday’ (another poster’s comments, not mine). The men should be the ones we revile.

  23. RAN at this moment we are talking about Miller and you are right he is a first class bastard, but miller is not braindead I hope, so she had a say in this affair, she is normally all mouth a simple “no” would have been all it needed.

  24. I agree Karin, but we seem to vilify the women in these things, while the men get off without too much being said - negative publicity falls on the women. I’m surprised no one has said the wife was to blame in all of this - it was said with Jude Law’s wife (Sadie Frost?) and Jennifer Aniston. But… instead of picking on them, we all ‘hate’ on Sienna Miller. Doesn’t make sense in my world. Fair’s fair, y’know?

November 9th, 2008 at 11:12 am Phew!! For a minute there I thought this thread wasn’t going to turn into a Brangelina thread.

    But it’s alright now

    *dying*

I’ve been coming to celebitchy long enough now to know that EVERY thread turns into a Brangelina thread. Doesn’t matter the topic. For a little while I avoided Brangelina threads, but eventually realized it doesn’t matter, it comes up where you least expect it, so I might as well not bother avoiding ANY thread

AND I might as well join in  It’s funny that some of the, for lack of a better term, “anti-Angelina” people are concerned that people are overlooking Angelina’s history but not Sienna’s. It’s funny that they can sort of defend Sienna, but not Angelina. If your point is that both hooked up with married men, why are you somewhat sympathetic to Sienna, and adamant that the blame lay at Balthazar’s feet, but you won’t say the same for Brad? In the case of JA. AJ & Brad, it’s rarely Brad’s misdeeds that are brought up; no, it’s always entirely Angelina’s fault. I no longer think it’s necessarily outrage at a “homewrecker” - it’s simply outrage at Angelina.

I think some of the people throwing around the word “hypocrite” need to check themselves.

P.S. I’ve said many times, and I’ll say it again - it’s a shame that women always hurl abuse at the “other woman”. It’s a shame that I NEVER read “Balthazar’s a slut! Brad’s a skank!” Nope, it’s always against women. And since the majority of people who leave comments on this site ARE women…well, women really are their own worst enemy. Such a shame.

  28. Agree, Jennifer. Although the situations around this couple and The Brange are different, I’ve always thought Balthy is the ultimate douchebag.

That being said, Sienna is a talentless hack and Rosetta never seemed like a picnic. I’m on nobody’s team on this one.

  30. Just so we’re all clear - I think Getty is a selfish, cowardly prick. He’s just as much to blame if not more than little miss Sienna.

However - this isnt’ the first time Sienna has taken up with a married man. While some of you say a husband can’t be stolen- there are women out there who see a wedding ring on a guy’s hand and look at it as both a challenge and an aphrodisiac. I know - a woman like that pursued my ex husband. By the time they slept together, he was the third married man in a row for her.

These are the girls we knew in high school who took glee in pursuing their friends’ boyfriends, just so they could say they did it. Sienna totally strikes me as that kind of girl.

They’re both pigs and they deserved each other.

  31. Sometimes similarities will be discussed. So if one refers to the goddess Angie in relation to cheating and predatory behavior one should be allowed. That said. I find some woman so silly. Woman who act like they don’t understand the mechanisms that go into seducing a man.
A married man is an easy target. It is a fact that it is the woman that says yes or no go. You all know that right? We control it. So here is an idea. Have some self respect and don’t pray on men who are married. Men given the opportunity will cheat. Sorry folks. Gasp. It’s about survival of the species. Spread the seed around. Kind of an ingrained thing. Can be over come a bit harder when woman flirt outrageously with you . Dangerous times for married men. Right after a child. Reaching 40. 4 to seven year into a marriage. To name a few. Sisters just stop flirting with other men that are married. Sienna should be ashamed of herself. She is a tart. Mom even approves. This usually is this case. Mothers who see beauty as a pass on having any morals or ethics. Sienna’s mother seems to think her daughter is entitled to this kind of behavior, An enabler. Mothers should teach their daughters early beauty does not entitle one to be cruel and entitled.

  32. I think what is really offensive is not that a marriage goes wrong, the couple separates, and one or the other start seeing other people.
Sadly, this happens, with or without children involved, all the time, everywhere.
What is really offensive about these two is that they flaunted it and THREW it in Balthazar’s wife’s face. Those pics of Sienna topless and making out with the jerk? They are experienced celebs–OF COURSE they knew there were photographers there. I have never seen anything so obviously staged.
I think THAT is why people are especially hateful about these two. They went out of their way to show the world they were sleeping together (not even allowing for the ounce of ‘they could be just friends’ doubt–since buds don’t grope the other’s bare breasts in public).
The both of them are utterly selfish and sleazy and deserve how badly this has ruined their reputation.

  33. I think what makes it all worse for me in SM’s case is that she hooks up with married men where there are children involved.
Sure any married man/woman cheating is a horrible thing, but when you add the fact that he/she has kids as well, that just makes it 10 times worse IMO. As you’re not just breaking up a marriage but a family as well.
And that goes for BG who I think is a scumbag as well.

Also I didn’t think that Woody Allen was actually Soon-Yi’s adoptive father? That would have been deemed incest/illegal wouldn’t it? So I highly doubt that Brad would run off with his own adoptive daughter, how gross is that thought, yuck…

  34. @ Jennifer:

Of course it’s always against women. Because we have vaginas and with that comes a responsibility for the damage that gets caused when men go chasing after them. If we didn’t have them there would be no problem :|

Will the bible-humpers online kindly explain to me that whole ’sanctity of marriage’ thing once more and why gay people aren’t entitled to it, again ? ‘Cause I ain’t seeing a lot of sanctity here.

  39. I actually feel for her because she’s clearly in love with him. No woman would expose herself to the immense criticism just for a stupid fling with a married guy. She likely deluded herself into believing that he’d leave his wife, that he loved her and that they’d end up together. It’s unfortunate because that almost never actually happens.

It’s also unfair that her foolish, unethical actions are made out to be worse than his. HE is the home wrecker. Sienna’s the enabler. If it wasn’t her, it’d be someone else.

As a call girl, yeah. At least she always can work a mattress for mortgage payments, for a while anyway.

Gettys wife is a saint for taking that fool back, he doesnt deserve a second chance she should turf him out the door.
his wife will never get those images of sienna half naked out of her head. Those photos will always pop up in the media, people laugh at those photos, proberly end up in sitcom one day.
