Beyonce “is enjoying this time off” so much that she’s going back to work soon

Ah, more Beyonce news. First, I’d like to thank everyone for posting like crazy on Monday’s Beyonce story, all about why she and Jay-Z skipped the Grammys. I would still like the know what really happened there, and if they were actually scheduled to come, but I considered that story kind of a throw-away. Little did I know you guys were hungry for more Beyonce! So here you go. Us Weekly has been running these stories every few days, to the point where I think something fishy is going on – the stories are always about how Beyonce is such a great and devoted mother and all that. Which she very well may be, and probably is. But does Bey have to keep calling her publicist to remind him to remind people that she’s a mom now?

Beyonce’s fans worldwide might have to wait a while for her album — because this superstar loves being a full-time mom to Blue Ivy Carter!

Since giving birth to her first child with hubby Jay-Z Jan. 7, the “Love on Top” singer, 30, has been holed up in the couple’s Scarsdale, New York mansion and $6.85 million Tribeca loft nursing her daughter.

“She has been totally doting on Blue,” a source close to the diva tells Us. “She’s up whenever the baby’s up!”

And the self-described workaholic — who typically toured, recorded albums and promoted her perfumes and clothing line at a nonstop clip — welcomes the lifestyle change.

“She’s enjoying this time off,” the source says.

[From Us Weekly]

Would you like to know how much Beyonce is enjoying this time off? She’s enjoying it so much, she’s preparing to work throughout the year on two new albums, one with original songs and the other a soundtrack for A Star Is Born, which Bey is scheduled to remake with Clint Eastwood (which is probably filming this year too):

Maternity leave may not be for everyone — especially not for one of music’s hardest working pop divas, Beyoncé. Singer-songwriter Ryan Tedder, who landed a Grammy for his work on Adele’s mega-seller, “21,” told the BoomBox during Sunday’s Grammy ceremony that the singer was readying two projects for 2012.

“The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening,” the OneRepublic frontman said. “All I can say is you kind of feed her the best that you have and she’s this phenomenal filter and she takes it all in.”

Tedder says he is submitting songs about motherhood. And although he didn’t reveal any details about the singer’s second project, it may be a safe guess to say that it will be some sort of soundtrack to her upcoming Clint Eastwood-directed update of “A Star Is Born,” which was postponed after the star announced she was pregnant at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyoncé’s last album, “4,” didn’t yield the blockbuster single people expected from the singer, but it still managed to sell more than 1.1 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was also heralded by critics for its genre-blending sounds that pushed the singer outside the boundaries of radio-friendly pop. Tedder said listeners should expect the singer to continue staying away from pop trends on the next project.

“She’s not interested in 2012, [she’s interested in] what’s [going to sound good for] 2013,” he revealed. “Without question, she steers the ship. [With] Beyoncé, you just let her go, she’s ridiculous, she’s the best.”

[From LA Times]

Portrait of a Workaholic Diva Trying to Pretend She Enjoys Time Off. I bet she feels itchy, she just can’t wait to work again. I’m not judging – I’ve always admired her work ethic. But don’t try to convince me that you love being at home with the baby! I wonder when Bey is due to begin filming with Clint Eastwood? I’m disappointed that the remake is going through – I figured the project would crash and burn at some point. Here’s hoping it still does, because Clint + Beyonce + a remake of A Star Is Born = TOTAL DISASTER.

Oh, and I missed this – Beyonce did post something about Whitney Houston on her website – you can read it here.

Is it me, or is she looking whiter and whiter . . .

    • kim says:

      it’s not just you.

      • sam says:

Mainly in photoshoots where she is airbrushed or brightly lit – not so much in candids. if you look at old photos she has been varying shades just like a normal person (tan v no tan). I think sometimes she goes a bit too heavy on some orangey bronzer too.

    • yes, I'm that Leah says:

She wants to be white. She’s doing everything she can to run away from black. She so self hating, really.

      • exc says:

oh come on, white people tan, asian people tan or buy whitening products. everyone wants variety and its not self hating to want to switch it up a bit 😛

  2. Lis says:

I notice no one’s talking about how Jay Z is going back to work.

    • anjessa says:

My thoughts exactly. Just like no celebrity father ever gets asked how he juggles kids and career.

    • Enny says:

As far as I can tell, Jay-Z has never claimed to be enjoying an opportunity to sit at home “nursing” an infant. When Jay-Z shows up to the studio with a breast pump, then we’ll wonder about his dedication, but he’s never claimed he was taking any sort of leave, unlike Beyonce.

  3. Asli says:

LOL! She’s probably scouting for more up and coming artists to rip off. And Ryan Tedder writing about motherhood. Good deal, dude. OF COURSE you know everything about motherhood. *Snort*.

And holed up in their Scarsdale-home? She’s been out three nights since the baby was born. Twice in a row while the baby was sick. Okay, not trying to generalize, but how many mothers (or fathers) would leave their sick not-even-month old baby to go to a concert? Not once but twice? Mindboggling.

    • sassenach says:

I’m curious, how do you know her baby was sick?

I only saw pics of her out twice and they were for Jay Z’d MSG performances. Going to support her husband for two nights for a few hours isn’t really a big deal.

      • Asli says:

It was reported on NY Daily News. I can’t find the article but here’s what they’re saying:

”An insider tells us the booty-licious mama skipped Hova’s historic show because their infant daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, wasn’t feeling well.

The baby must have made a quick recovery because Beyoncé kicked back at the after-party until about 4 a.m.

Shortly after the booty-licious mama arrived at her husband’s 40/40 Club for post-concert festivities Monday night, we asked her if she’d gone to the show.

“Yes,” she told us, calling her spouse’s concert “amazing.”

On Tuesday, however, the 40/40 club sent out an email stating, “Despite various reports, Beyoncé did not attend Jay-Z’s concert”

The couple’s reps did not respond to our questions seeking an explanation for Beyoncé’s absence from the show.”

And she went out those two nights plus the Valentines Day pizza-outing. Which, I understand parents need time alone, but her baby was born barely over a month ago. First time moms, mostly, don’t want to leave their babies for anything. Trust me, I know. My cousin refused to go out for her 5th anniversary with her husband because my niece was born only five and a half weeks prior. Beyonce and Jay could have had a romantic dinner at home. They certainly have the means to make that happen.

      • MJ says:

I think they made that up to cover up for the fact they boycotted the Grammys due to it being a Chris Brown lovefest. They both hate him, particularly Jay-Z.

    • Euphorima says:

Asli, generally I like reading your posts because they normally sound well reasoned and intelligent.

I am not even remotely a Beyonce fan, but your comments here sound a little judgemental and generalized.

Everybody is different and most people have different approaches to parenting. Besides, Beyonce and Jay Z’s lifestyle is a little different from ‘regular folks” anyways. Just saying.

      Anyway, as you were….

      • Asli says:

I get what you’re saying and maybe my judgement is a little clouded. Basically, I think hateonit (comment 18), says it better than me 🙂

    • skipper says:

I love how they say she’s enjoying the time off. It was a relief to go back to work after my son was born. I didn’t consider maternity leave a vacation.

      • Liz says:

Exactly what I was thinking! Staying at home with a baby is NOT taking time off by any means! It’s insulting that people would insinuate that it is! I have never worked so hard or so many hours (24/7 versus a 40-60 hour work week) as I have with my 8 month old daughter and people consider me a workaholic. Sure, she probably has nannys and caretakers but she strikes me as the controlling type that would be very involved in her daughter’s upbringing.

  4. Courtney says:

I agree about A Star is Born!

No no no no no no…

    • T.C. says:

A remake of A Star Is Born with Beyonce is the WORST idea I have ever thought of. I was hoping having the baby would put her off from it. Clint Eastwood keeps coming up with some stinkers in the last few years. Loved his earlier work. Beyonce is NOT an actress Clint. Walk away, please.

  5. Tazina says:

She has to work. Her husband barely makes enough money to pay the mortgage on their home. And she will have to spend a good portion of her paycheck on a babysitter. She hates to leave the baby to be cared for by others but sometimes you just don’t have a choice in these matters. Bills have to be paid.

  6. demian bichir says:

I think the movie is going to be Bodyguard 2.0.

  7. Gorry says:

It’s strange with Beyonce/Rihanna, they seem to have a need to churn out album year after year as the quality bombs.
I used to dismiss it as trash talk but now I wonder if its true and they are in competition with each other.

    • demian bichir says:

In the biz it’s a cold war with everyone(men, women, teenagers,…).It’s not just women vs women.Everyone wants to be the best and be n°1.

  8. TruthTella says:

The only reason Beyonce is working so hard if because her last album was such a flop and she can’t stand not being on top…
I really hate when she drops an album because she drags it out for SO DAMN LONG and releases almost every song as a single with a bargain bin $2.00 video to go with it SMH, and JOY I cannot wait for her to ruin “A star is born” on her quest for that elusive Oscar, Let’s hope JHud can snatch it again with “Winnie” lol

    • demian bichir says:

JHUD doesn’t have enough charisma to play Winnie.I want VIOLA to play Winnie.

      • TruthTella says:

YES! Viola would slay! I’ll give Jen a chance though, she hasn’t been in many films yet.

      • LAK says:

too late. Winnie starring JHUDD has been shot and is already doing the festival rounds. It co0stars Terence HOward and it’s proper title is MRS MANDELA.

ps:- no comment on the actors’ performance, but it’s a terrible film that doesn’t really get to the heart of who Winnie Mandela is. It’s been rose tinted to the max.

  9. Beatrix says:

She’s one of the only women in the world privileged enough to consider the time immediately after birth “time off.” Please.

  10. Sasha says:

Clint Eastwood? He’s about 100 years old!

Or is he directing? And yes, tooootal bomb, looking forward to it in a mean way.

I’m surprised she’s not remaking The Bodyguard.

  11. Bad Gal Addiction says:

How much “work” could a new Beyonce album be? Copy, paste! Copy, copy & paste! DONE!

  12. lisa says:

The more I look at Beyonce the more I am convinced she is at least over 35. No way she is 30.
It’s the Catherine Zeta Jones effect

  13. Mimi says:

BeYAWNce is new Christina. People criticize her no matter what she does. Luv it.

    • the original bellaluna says:

Interesting point. I actually thought about that. You know, how Xtina stayed out of the limelight for awhile after her son’s birth and ended up “ga-ga’d” and has never really recovered, career-wise.

  14. Jayna says:

Beyonce is a hard-working successful artist that has managed to stay on top and not be embroiled in scandals or become a druggie and has managed to have a great relationship to boot. She waited until she was ready to have a child with her relationship rock solid instead of being selfish when she was younger. I don’t get the haters. So what if she goes back to work sooner than later? Men don’t get bashed for it. The baby will be with her and see her more than working moms who are gone for 10 hours a day when you include commuting time for work in. That’s the luxury of her job and money, being able to do that and juggle both more easily than a nine to five job.

I love her new album. I don’t really usually buy much of her music. But this album I loved and bought, so it doesn’t matter to me whether it sold more than her others or less. At this stage to still sell over a million isn’t a flop. A flop is Christina’s Bionic which tanked.

  15. TheOriginalVictoria says:

Beyonce can’t sit down. Because she is less talented than she proclaims to be and because she is afraid of being irrelevant, she will push herself on us at every chance she gets, hence the reason she is leaking all these stories while she licks her wounds for the fuck ups she and Jay made with this pillow baby business.

I’ll leave you with a link that pretty much gives you the dets on why Beyonce and A Star is Born is a tragedy.

It’s a bit lengthy but you can scroll down to the last few paragraphs for the Bey parts and full disclosure: I wrote it.

    http://destinysrehab.com/2011/07/from-4lop-to-epic-4ailure/

    • Asli says:

Thanks, Victoria. That was a great article. Man, I didn’t know any of the things you wrote about. But I agree.

      • TheOriginalVictoria says:

        Thanks Asli.

And for those who don’t understand why Beyonce is disliked, then you only have to Youtube or check out sites like the one in the link that lay out Knowless-Carter clan’s atrocities. This is not for me to plug Destiny’s Rehab because up until now, I have never even acknowledged that I write for this blog and I very rarely mention it even in the majority of posts I have made about Bey.

But we call out anyone who is as shameful as Beyonce. We base our articles on facts, our inside sources, common sense and the desire to be search for truth in our entertainment and arts. We want to know what we’re being sold and why. That’s all. We don’t even have advertisements so for us it’s not just about trying to tear down celebrities.

People like Beyonce have the power to influence millions and especially her target audience-the black community-and we feel it necessary to expose her and others shady ways.

    • It is ME!! says:

So you are THAT Victoria, from Destiny’s Rehab!

LOVE THAT BLOG! Keep up the good work!

    • NM684 says:

Say what!? That is going right in “My Favorites”. I’m so going to follow your work now, woot woot!

  16. Maria says:

I’ve heard that leaving a baby who is very young, too often and too soon can create stressful brain changes. Not so much when they’re a bit older, but small infants. Let’s hope she stays home as much as possible, regardless of if it fufills her or not. it’s not about her any longer but a developing, small child. if you don’t have to work right away, why would you and let your baby have substandard care?…good nannies or not, there is nothing like the love and attention of a mother.

  17. G says:

Yeah, a non-story in every way. Mom’s at home but still keeping her hand in at work. Non-story.

  18. hateonit. says:

when you’re worth as much money as those two I have no idea why you wouldn’t want to relax and enjoy the bundle of joy. that’s what gets me. the stories of her being out and the baby being sick and her wanting to make more albums and shit make no sense. she has no attachment to that child. especially since its her first one. it’s absurd. EVERY star took time off for their child. especially their first. shes so eager to get back to work it fuels more into the surrogate story which I firmly believe. her time is done. she’s older now and should be concerned with her baby and husband. not being on top more fame beating different artists and being the best.

    • Happy21 says:

I know. I don’t get it either. They could easily never work another day of their lives and live extremely comfortable existences forever and still leave their child(ren) with a fortune.

I get that people are workaholics but I think some people are also greedy and are so arrogant they can’t stand to not see their names in lights constantly.

  19. reg says:

Yes, I agree that fiasco with fake pregnancy and Mexican baby is going to hurt her career even more, A Star is Born will be a terrible for sure, very limited voice and no acting talent…

  20. Swanso Jacko says:

Wow, so she was the very first woman to ever give birth, eh? She sure carries on like that’s the case.

  21. sm255 says:

Okay. I don’t know her, what she’s like, or what her demeanor pertains to other people – other than her superstar image.

But I have the strangest notion that her rise to fame, her tendency to keep things private (hell, I found out she was married last YEAR), the privacy issue shedding away at the announcement of her pregnancy AND how I just now seen the music videos she’s taken ‘inspiration from’ – all of that smells really, really phony.

    Is it just me here?

    • Asli says:

No. It’s not just you. In my opinion the facade started to crumple when she fired her dad. He is an asshole but he knows how to manage someones career. If she hadn’t fired him I strongly doubt she would be getting this much repercussions. She has done alot of nasty stuff but they really didn’t stay in the media for more than two weeks.

Here’s a prime example. A couple of years ago Bey sold a lucky fan a private dinner with her. Turns out the fans who bought the dinner (it was on Ebay) were actually PETA. After placing their orders they started asking her about why she wears fur and showing her tapes of animals being brutally murdered for their fur. In the media they made PETA seem like the ”evil” ones because ”they made precious Beyonce cry” (she was 25 or something). What monsters! :O People were saying stuff like ”poor, poor Beyonce” etc. God forbide she sees the consequenses of her actions. And then she pouts while her mom (seriously how old is she) told them to leave. They were escorted out and Beyonce & Co. stayed for dinner. Basically Beyonce was restored to her angel-ness and PETA got shit for it. Shows the power of Matthew Knowles.

The video is on Youtube. It’s called – Beyonce on the spot. Something’s wrong with my computer so I can’t link it.

  22. trollontheloose says:

it used be that artists were releasing album every other 3-5 years and you couldn’t wait to see where the artist was taking you.you will read heartfelt interviews about the process of making the album, each song having a story.. Nowadays, it’s every other 6 months for the like of Bey, Rihanna, Nicky Minaj, Katy Perry.. pop candy and if it wasn’t for the voice, I wouldn’t be able to tell you who sing what. Only that redone, Guetta, Pitbull are behind the productions..urgh..

  23. skuddles says:

Well sure, I can see her wanting to get back to work. Time to start exploiting that adorable little trademark.

  24. lulu says:

“She’s up whenever the baby’s up!”
Ok, so she’s up every three or four hours, for a total of ten hours, WAY TO GO BEYONCE!
When you have a baby, all the books tell you to try and sleep when your baby does…and I never met a single mother who managed it.
Because, when they’re awake you’re feeding or changing or just staring at them.
And when they’re asleep you do all the other grown up stuff…the washing, the cleaning, the Celebitchy
website etc. And just when you think “I should probably get some sleep before that baby wakes up again”….it wakes up again….and the whole cycle starts over.
So, frankly, that comment had me really laughing.

    • kc says:

That was the one line that stuck with me. How noble of a mother to be awake when her newborn babe is awake. I guess some kind of medal needs to be designed for such devotion. No other mother would be so devoted.

  25. Meghan says:

so by saying she’s spending her time “nursing” the baby….they do mean just being mommy to baby right? she’s not trying to pass off that she is breast feeding, right?!

because I don’t see beyonce hauling her breast pump to all these outings, or having one of her people haul it around for her. or stopping what she is doing to pump every 2 to 3 hours and just doing the whole breastfeeding thing.

I mean, I don’t care if she isn’t breastfeeding, that’s her decision but she and her people don’t need to try to spin that she is if she really isnt.

  26. Jover says:

So disappointed in Clint eastwood for catering to this egomaniac. Why does this movie need done a fourth time.
Keep up the good work Asli; this narcissist needs deflated – Work, what work would that be – lift, sample, steal, and promote, then rinse repeat and do it again ad nauseum. She’s such an artist and my cat’s Mozart.

  27. Newmrs says:

Beyonce should slow down before she has a break down or becomes addicted to something. Slow down, take a break stop working sooooo much!

  28. the original bellaluna says:

You didn’t honestly think she was going to let a little thing like a baby get in the way of her career, did you?

  29. BELLA says:

I know this whole thing is insane.
I wish I could have stayed home with my kids ….going back to work?Huh…
wow Blue-Jay-z looks just like her dad
    lol…..

  30. osarieme says:

Why do some of you feel the need to tell Beyonce how to parent her newborn? I do not get it. Where is all this hate coming from? The woman wants to work, let her be.

    • hateonit. says:

first of all. there’s hate for so many reasons it’s not even funny. and there’s a difference between being hated on and bring just plain hated. she is not hated on. no one wants to be fake. be in the public. or be a known liar around the world. she supposedly just had her first child. and she just wants to pop back into work? uhm no. you don’t just do that. if you’re human, a female and you actually had the child you never want to leave the baby. first of all you’re exhausted. secondly the baby has needs that nannies can not provide. if she was nursing the baby her breasts would be sore. if she was waking up every hour like most babies do she would be literally burnt out. she has enough money. she has a clothing/shoe line, albums, and anything else I forgot. why the hell would yu need to leave your baby to go work? she can sit on her ass and make money. like I said the only reason is she has a surrogate. it’s a mother child bond. from the first moment theyre born they are all you think about. she might be getting older but her mentality obviously hasn’t changed. she’s all me me me. I’m queen bee. Id rather work then take care of my baby. give me a break.

  31. Orange Cone says:

she didnt write that about Whitney; one of her employees did. and of course, gotta plug ‘blueprint’ *eye roll

    • TheOriginalVictoria says:

When I read that, I almost died. How tacky can you be? The sad thing is that even if she was just using that word coincidentally, the public will never buy it because we just can’t trust that anything she says is sincere.

Lord knows I’m not perfect. I have lied, I have been blasphemous. I have been all kinds of things, but never with the intention to hurt someone or mislead someone for profit and then act like a good little Christian girl on top of it. She is fake.

  32. Asli says:

I just watched a video of an animal being skinned for the first time *shudder*. I have no words. My heart bleeds for those animals. I can’t believe Beyonce or any other celebrities proudly struts around wearing it. Don’t they feel sick?! They have another beings skin on!

*I’m going to go throw up now*.

    • ataylor says:

I probably gonna get a lot of backlash for this post, but I gotta say this: I wear fur and I am not ashamed of it. I also wear leather and own some snake-skin items and accessories. Oh yes, I also have hide covered furniture. I’ve also slaughtered my own chickens, several rabbits and helped skin and butcher a goat. Yes I am a meat eater and I also grow my own vegetables. Mainly, as you can probably tell, I grew up surrounded by farmers. Using every (and I mean every) part of an animal is the norm. As someone who loves animals (yes, just because I’ve slaughtered my own dinner doesn’t mean I hate animals) the best way I know how to honor and respect the job that the animal was literally raised to do, is to ensure none of it is wasted.

Yes it is a bit grotesque, especially your first time at it, but sadder still would be to slaughter an animal for food and toss away more than half of its body parts just to appease PETA and the “anti-fur” groups.

Its one thing to humanely kill a rabbit and use every part of it (including its fur) for food and clothing and a completely different thing to raise mink solely for its fur and skin it alive. This is a distinction that really should be addressed.I doubt PETA ever will since just a few years ago they tried to get people to stop eating fish by starting a campaign to rename all fish by calling them “Sea Kittens”

That and if you’re grossed out by wearing fur I can assume you dont wear leather either and that you are a vegan that doesnt drive? Because that black asphalt you drive over on a daily basis is made from animal by-products (cattle bone marrow) from the meat industry. Same goes for Jello, several pharmaceutical products and cosmetic products (like shimmer in your lipstick or eyeshadow? Its made from fish scales)

      • Asli says:

I agree that there’s is a difference between using all of the animal and just using it for fur. I’m talking about using an animal for fur only.

Here’s what happens to the animal if your stomach can handle it. I must warn you. You will never be able to un-see this, it’s absolutely disgusting what they do to these animals (i.e beating, standing on their heads and necks, skinning alive etc.) This is NOT for the faint-hearted. Please, don’t watch if you are un-easy with extreme violence. This video is very graphic.

        http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=cbc_1179657845

I’m a vegetarian, I don’t drive, I don’t wear leather, I don’t wear make-up and I hate Jello. Not because of the animals product used in those products (driving, Jello and make-up) but because I don’t want to use or don’t like the products. There is a huge difference in using ”left-over’s” of the animal after taking the parts used for food than beating it, skinning it alive and leaving it to die a slow painful death. It usually takes hours for the animals to die, they toss them on a bed of other skinned animals and leave them to die. THAT is what I have a problem with. They anally electricute them, give them lethal injections (that makes them seizure and cramp for hours), their necks are broken and the ”un-lucky” ones are skinned ALIVE! Why the fuck! don’t they at least kill the animal first.

  33. Tiffany says:

Well, this confirms it. Clint Eastwood is suffering from dementia. That has to be the only explaination for agreeing to direct this trainwreck.

  34. marie says:

Was Beyonce on vacation or something? Oh yeah, she had a baby…yawn. Who really cares.
