Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green sued for assaulting a paparazzo

Does Brian Austin Green strike you as a particularly violent sort? I don’t get that vibe from him. I used to think he might be partly and passive-aggressively responsible for Megan Fox’s crazy plastic face, but at this point, I think that’s all Megan and BAG has very little say in it. Anyway, Brian is accused of beating the crap out of a paparazzo last December, and now the pap is suing. There are some photos too – you can see them here, at TMZ. This all went down in Hawaii:

Brian Austin Green is being sued by a celebrity photographer who claims he was brutally beaten by the actor as his wife, Megan Fox, egged him on.

Delbert Shaw claims in a lawsuit that will be filed this morning in L.A. County Superior Court … he was taking pics of the smoking hot couple last December on the beach in front of the Four Seasons Resort in Hualalai, Hawaii … when Brian and Megan allegedly made verbal threats against Shaw.

According to the suit, it escalated when Megan yelled to her hubby, “Are you going to let him get away with that?”

Shaw alleges Brian defended Megan’s honor by hauling off and pummeling him, causing severe injuries. To add insult to injury, Shaw claims Brian threw his iPhone into the deep blue sea.

Shaw says Megan was egging Brian on during the entire incident.

He’s suing for unspecified damages and is represented by attorney Sark Ohanian at law firm of Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, LLP in Beverly Hills.

Calls to reps for Fox and Green were not returned.

[From TMZ]

“Are you going to let him get away with that?” Ugh. I hate when girls pull that. “Defend me, a–hole!” If you have to ask for your man to defend you, it’s not really worth it, is it? And you just seem like a drama queen begging for some attention. Anyway, considering that there are photos to back up this paparazzo’s story, I’m saying that BAG and Megan will probably end up giving the dude a nice settlement if he just walks away.

  1. Yet every day, these paparazzi are allowed to harrass and attack celebrities with their weapons of choice – their cameras and voices – and nothing is ever done about it.

Looked at the pics – they don’t show much of anything other than what appears to be wrestling over a camera (if you look, BAG has his hand on the camera throughout the photos) – and is BAG even near enough to the ocean to throw an iPhone into it?

I don’t understand why it’s legal for the paps to stalk people. I really don’t. If a stranger did this to you or me, we’d be filing a restraining order on day #2.
I know it’s good for celebrity gossip and I realize that I am a consumer BUT if celebs en masse demanded a law to protect them from this, I would support them wholeheartedly. They probably won’t ever do this b/c I think sometimes they need the publicity so, for them, it’s a catch-22.

      • carrie says:

        +1

and totally OT: i thought there was a law who banned paps pics with kids

      • Julie says:

@carrie: not in every country. france for example has laws that protected most of your privacy and in germany and england its not allowed to show the faces of the children if you dont give your agreement.

for me its fair game to photograph celebs in public; their home, their children and verbal abuse are not fair game.

      • RocketMerry says:

I agree Julie, there’s a line that should not be crossed.

OT. How cute is Megan when she dresses casual with little make up?! Adorable.

    • Turtle Dove says:

      I agree with you, paranormalgirl.

“To add insult to injury, Shaw claims Brian threw his iPhone into the deep blue sea.” awwww poor baby…..

  3. Kaboom says:

Beating a pap is illegal? What’s the world coming to?

  4. janie says:

Looks like a tickle fest to me.

  5. gloaming says:

What did Megan not want him to get away with? They must have said something to them to get them so irate.
And where’s the video of the incident?

I flicked through the photos and all I can see is BAG trying to get the camera and a pap making sure his mate gets pictures of the ‘assault’.

Boo hoo poor tmz slimy paparazzi.

  6. Duchess says:

If you object to paparazzi, why are you reading gossip sites like Celebitchy? #hypocritesMuch

    • I wasn’t aware this blog was written by a paparazzo. Oh wait, it’s not. I would read even without the pap pics. There’s a big difference between gossip and someone stalking people day in and day out for pictures.

I actually tend to skip the pics here and go straight for the story unless it’s red carpet pics.

    • gloaming says:

If that’s directed at me CB isn’t TMZ or x17

    • Tapioca says:

Exactly. If people didn’t lap up the pictures the paps would go out of business and the poor ickle celebrities who have CHOSEN to be famous – and in most cases aggressively whored themselves out to the media – would be left alone to their anonymity.

If you want to act, and don’t want the attention, work in the theatre!

    • Duchess says:

My comment was not centered on CB, or TMZ or any other specific source, rather celeb coverage in general.

There wouldn’t be half of the celeb stories we read w/out paps & the journos who work along side them (and often use the same means for info.) Without these people, celeb news would be limited to carefully crafted bits from PR reps. If that’s what you want, stick to Entertainment Tonight!

Not all paps are harassing, not all reporters hack phones and not all cops beat people just for kicks. Watch those broad strokes.

      • gloaming says:

Well my comment was directed at the paps who harass to get a picture, which to me seems to be the case here, but obviously the paparazzi reform law doesn’t extend to Hawaii.
        #Watch your own broad strokes.

  7. Naye in VA says:

IDK about the “you gonna let him do that?” statement. I feel like my husband is partially responsible for my honor barring me behaving like an ass. like if the pap called me a B**** or got up in my face, id expect my man to step up. Or took a pic of my ass. thats a no-no

but if im say all belligerent for no reason his only responsibility is to drag me away lol

Edit: I get what youre saying Kaiser. One shouldnt have to ask it should be auto

  8. Dap says:

I’m disappointed. I can’t see no beating in thoses photos.

  9. KatC says:

Given that there is what appears to be a hotel employee walking towards the pap still taking photos while BAG handles the other one I would say there’s a good chance the paps themselves were not where they should have been. Also, the pap getting the beating (which looks more like some relatively harmless wrestling) keeps looking back at the guy taking the photos, even before the fight started.

I think it’s pretty clear that they planned this and that no actual beating took place. Given that their entire account is completely suspect. (i.e. ‘are you going to let him get away with that’ etc.)

    What a bunch of tools.

    • Faye says:

I agree, it looks like BAG did a take-down and restrain sort of move on the guy. It doesn’t look like a beating.

  10. Jover says:

I agree fully Tapioca; anyway, this is the land of the litigious, and the home of the lawsuit – what else is new – if they were ignored for more than a few weeks their pr people would be calling the paps – it cuts both ways.

  11. Julie says:

i think a man should stand up for his woman to defend her honor but also know when its better to just ignore it.

paps for example, they want you to freak out. you really shouldnt do anything then, just grab your girl, tell her to ignore it and walk away.

i would think better of a guy that stays calm in such a situation.

  12. o_O says:

I don’t really see why paps are so harmful. Those people keep the careers of talentless people like Megan Fox alive. It’s practically in the fine print, you want to be in Hollywood then that’s what you get. The paps just take photos and in this age of over sharing – the paps aren’t actually at fault at all.

I don’t believe for a second Megan Fox doesn’t have people calling on teh tabs and paps just look at her so called ‘private’ wedding pleeeeeeeeeeease. You think those angles, close ups, and 360* shots were random paps? Nope, she keeps her so called ‘career’ alive pulling this kind of crap.

  13. ruddyzookeeper says:

I don’t like how aggressive paps have become, either. But it’s like I tell my kids: when is it OK to put your hands on someone? Never. When do you let your temper control your actions? Never.
Media exposure comes with the territory. Look at the tabloids. LA is ground zero for the celebrity privacy invasion epidemic. If you don’t like it, move away.

  14. Chris says:

People shouldn’t be able to make money from photos of you without your consent.
