I’m going to be gender biased today and break up last night’s Avengers premiere photos into two posts, one for the girls and one for the boys. This is the girls’ post. Obviously. Let’s start off with The Avengers’ Jiggle, Scarlett Johansson. ScarJo wore this polka-dotted Prada for the big London premiere… well, I say “polka dots” but they’re not really. I think they’re roses? It’s some kind of flower print, but from a distance it looks like “dotty”. Something nice… er… I don’t hate the color combination of black, blue and red. Those colors could have been garish, but they’re not. As for the actual design… meh. I would like to see it without the vagina dust ruffle. And with different shoes – something in black or blue (or both). I’m also not a fan of ScarJo’s hair for this carpet.
Cobie Smulders has a small part in the film. She’s a pretty girl, but I’m not crazy about this red Alexandra Vidal Fall 2012 gown. One, it feels like overkill considering she’s not even close to one of the top 10 billed actors, so why is she wearing an Oscar gown? Two, the quilted detail on the shoulders makes her look bulky, and she’s not. Bad design.
Elsa Pataky is Chris Hemsworth’s pregnant wife. I feel like she’s been pregnant forever, right? Incidentally, Elsa is totally the girl who dated Adrien Brody, and he bought her a CASTLE, and then she dumped him for Olivier Martinez, and then somebody dumped somebody, and instantly Elsa was with Chris and she was knocked up. It happened really quickly from what I remember. I don’t know who did her dress, but it’s very pretty.

I agree. Not everyone can pull off the milkmaid braids, not even her sometimes, but she’s doing it here. And her makeup is flawless. Brighter than usual and it works.

Elsa looks great! I remember she was in the last Fast & Furious movie…she has a unique look. As for ScarJo, I feel like she doesn’t know how to “bring it” anymore, all her red carpets are just alright at best, she should be more like Megan Fox during the Transformer days…now that was a girl who knew how to get all the headlines with her looks

Elsa looks gorgeous. It’s great to see maternity dress-up wear that is flattering, and this is spectacular.
(Note to Beyonce: THIS is what pregnant looks like. So next time around, if you’re going to have the foam belly and the skintight shirt or dress, stick a cotton ball in there to simulate a belly button. And before anybody says maybe Bey has an innie instead of an outie, and that’s why it didn’t show … the belly button will STILL show, one way or another. Trust me.)

LOl! Seriously, take a look at the way she stares at the camera (the picture with Hemsworth). She did the very same in almost every single picture I saw when she was with Brody.
P.S.: another for why I can’t stand her is a blind item I read on Crazy Days and Nights a couple of years ago. Let me see if I can find it.

This was one of the blind items the guy who runs the site didn’t reveal (at least, I couldn’t find it). But I’m positively sure that’s about Thomas Jane (the C list actor), Patricia Arquette (the wife), Courteney Cox (the friend), Elsa Pataky (the F lister). Back then Pataky was in a movie with him called Give’em Hell, Malone, and all of a sudden Arquette kicks him out of their house, but not long after that they got back together (I know that, because I used to read everything about Thomas Jane).

I do, Carrie. But that one was incredibly accurate (and posted by CDAN’s main blogger, not that “Himmm” dude). Jane was indeed kicked out, then not so long after that they (Arquette and Jane) made up.
I must say that I don’t believe most of these blind items (they’re just fun to read), but this one? I believe it.

I love Scarlet’s hair best and the makeup is good but that dress is horrible! Oh, I see Chris’s wife is about to pop. I keep hearing that she is an actress but I never even heard of her before I discovered Chris. They look happy and all loved up. Their child is going to gorgeous.

I disagree : I LOVE Scarlett’s hair, make up and dress! The dress would have been better without the weird black thing around the waist but appart from that I think she looks lovely.

Maybe ScarJo is trying to hide a little tummy with that flap thing? To us normal ones, she is tiny. But to her, with this extra 5ish pounds on, she could just be insecure about certain parts.

I agree. She looks self-conscious with her elbows pinned back and her chin pointed at the horizon. Too bad because I like the dress and her in it. Not the braids, though. Not for this dress. She needed something like loose curls.

The dress would have been better without the peplum, and strapless is not her best look, but overall I like it. What I really don’t like: her tattoos. They don’t work with anything, and they don’t even go together.

I don’t know who the pregnant woman is. But she poses like a Kardashian — she’s supposedly there to support the husband, but tries to make it all about her. That doesn’t bode well for the marriage. Just my take on the body language.
And I hate the word “lovely.” It’s like a fake compliment — I can’t think of anything SPECIFIC that is great about this person or outfit, so I’ll cop out and use the generic “lovely.” “It’s lovely.” “She’s lovely.” Meaningless.
(Also, it’s sounds too forced, like I’m a “woman of a certain age” exaggerating my pinky sticking out as I sip my tea. “The tea is lovely.”)
