Ashlee Simpson is still pregnant, despite weekend rumors

She was due in October, but Ashlee Simpson still hasn’t delivered her first baby, rumored to be a boy. This weekend, when Ashlee’s husband, Pete Wentz, didn’t appear on the MTV special to mark the end of Total Request Live, speculation ran wild that the couple was in the hospital waiting for their baby to be born. But Wentz called into the taping of the special and said that there was still no baby yet.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz aren’t parents … yet.

Though the Internet was buzzing this weekend that Simpson went into labor, her rocker husband phoned into TRL’s finale on Sunday and assured fans that the baby’s “not here yet!”

Wentz joked that his Fall Out Boy bandmates, as well as the rest of the world, will probably know that the baby’s arrived when the news hits the Internet.

But he assured fans, “Nothing’s happened yet!” He also told fans that they are still undecided on a baby name.

Wentz skipped the TRL finale, leaving his band to perform without him. Sighed singer Patrick Stump, “It was cool [to perform]. I wish Pete was here.”

So how did Wentz and Simpson — who is due any day — spend their weekend?

“I went to Chinatown, picked up a bootleg version of Twilight and watched it like, 72, times,” Wentz joked.

It’s quite common for your first baby to be late- sometimes between two and three weeks past your due date. But it’s also incredibly uncomfortable and a test of the out limits of your patience. You can’t really go anywhere, because labor could literally start any minute. Poor Ashlee must be considering labor induction by now.

Does anyone know when her due date was???

  2. Kay says:

I thought she had been pregnant for too long.

  3. devilgirl says:

Hasn’t she been pregnant for about a year now?

  4. Syko says:

Poor thing. My second was three weeks late (after being told that I must have miscalculated and she would arrive a month before the original due date – so it was like being seven weeks late) and it is just the most miserable thing in the world. Everyone’s idea of a funny greeting is “Haven’t you had that baby yet?” and you feel like warmed over death and all you want to do is get it over with, but you wake up every morning still pregnant. She has my sympathy – both for that and for being married to Pete Wentz.

As any mother will know, a baby coming late (or early) is normal as dr’s can only estimate a mother’s due date. I’m more surprised that Pete Wentz admitted to buying a bootleg copy of Twilight. 😯

  6. Celebitchy says:

My son was 2 weeks late! I took castor oil at the suggestion of the midwife and that was not comfortable! It worked though. Ashlee’s due date was supposedly Halloween.

  7. Ter says:

Being overdue sucks for sure, but she doesn’t look that big in the picture, I thought she looked bigger early on.

Castor oil is the age-old lubricant for stuck babies. I wish more people tried that than the more invasive methods. Thank God I never had to resort to it since my mother said it was vile tasting.

  8. Kay says:

I saw some woman take that oil on one of those TLC shows and her doctor yelled at her because she took some random amount just because she just wanted her baby born that day.

  9. MoJo says:

She looks like she’s doing all right. I’m kind of amazed that she has so boldly continued to keep her hair dyed throughout this pregnancy, though.

  10. Celebitchy says:

Mojo I remember reading that Ashlee uses Henna hair dye which is natural so it’s safe for the baby. Normal hair dye is actually the most dangerous in the first trimester though and is generally considered ok.

  11. Bodhi says:

I was 2 weeks late & my said she just laid on the couch & cried & cried. Evryone I know who has been pregnant has been SO over it by the end.

  12. Kaiser says:

Poor girl. She must be murderous at this point.

  13. Mom to 3 says:

I read somewhere she was due after Thanksgiving? Isn’t the American Thanksgiving at the end of November? and if that be the case then she still has about a week or so to go in her pregnancy!!

  14. Diva says:

Yeah, her hair color is very obviously henna. It’s a pretty enough red, but it’s an unmistakable hue that comes from henna.

I would give anything in the world to be that miserable for 40 weeks to get that gift at the end!

  15. Kristin says:

My mom was 2 weeks late with me (first born) and my sister lol.

  16. mel says:

havent seen her in public since last month.i betcha she’s miserable.

  17. Syko says:

Diva, you’re right. The gift in the end is well worth the misery. But she doesn’t know that yet. 🙂

  18. vdantev says:

Do they know who the father is yet ? 😈

  19. Buttercup says:

    vdantev: 😆 😆

Lol, I think it’s funny he watched Twilight “72” times,, it’s a 2 hour movie 😯 …I’m being dragged to the movie on Saturday…(I did enjoy the book, but I have a feeling this is going to be God-Awful!)
