Aww Dita! I get it. Sometimes it is boring to be heterosexual. Maybe you and I can pray it away. Seriously though I love her and actually understand where she is coming from. I have always felt sexuality is more fluid than a straight line. I love men and I have posted several times that I love the Fassman but if Noomi Rapace or AJ wanted some of me I would be down. TMI i know but I am bored at work. Sue me!

    • Genevieve says:

      Ahhh, Dita.

I usually reserve my crushes for hot guys, but…I think I crushed on Dita the Amazing from the minute I saw the Vogue layout of her wedding to (icky-poo) Marilyn Manson. Will NEVER get that one .?

She’s impossibly perfect, elegant and almost too ethereal to be of this sphere. When you make your living by people paying you to take your picture, you generally feel like you’re not such a slouch, right? Well, I lose that warm little buzz of self-appreciation whenever I see the latest shot of Dita. She is so drop-dead gorgeous, she makes me feel like a man. Or at the very least, like my nanny. Wahh. Poor me. Lol 😉

      • Aiobhan says:

I will never understand her marriage to Marilyn Manson either but to each her own. May be he was funny and charming without all the fake goth crap. He also dated another beautiful woman- Rose McGowan for years. WTF.

Anyway she is stunning and gives amazing interviews. I saw her on Fashion Police and she and Joan were a riot when she and Joan were going through her (Dita’s) closet. She should be a guest host on FP.

      • TXCinderella says:

And add Evan Rachel Wood to that list. When made up, she is stunningly beautiful also.

  2. Jessica says:

    AMEN!!

  3. lucy2 says:

Yay for Mindy Kaling! I will be checking out her new show.

  4. RocketMerry says:

“I have come to realize that I am hetero, which I personally think is unfortunate”

Yeah, me too. Very hetero and very unfortunate.
I don’t know why, I always have a feeling that men and women have the worst relationships ever.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

You sound like my mom! Even after 40 years of a very successful marriage, she still swears that men and women are not meant to be together. Whenever she bitches about my dad she always ends with “In my next life I’m coming back a lesbian!”.
But my best friend is a lesbian and she complains about much of the same things as my hetero friends. Seems like relationship issues are human issues and in the end it seems gender is irrelevant when it comes to issues with two humans trying to make it work. Grass is always greener though right? 🙂

    • Kimbob says:

This is about the most candid and “truest” statement I’ve heard in a long time….possibly years….@ least for me!

  5. Kim says:

She feels its unfortunate to be hetero?? Ignortant comment because we dont care and if a gay person said this about being gay, that it was unfortunate, people would be going ballistic.

We knew she was hetero years ago when she married Marilyn Manson. She is looking for attention with this comment.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

If a gay person declared that they are gay and it’s unfortunate I don’t think anyone would be going ballistic. It’s not easy to be gay in our society…ask Travolta!

    • MST says:

      I agree.

    • searching4grace says:

I don’t think she’s saying it that way at all. I think she’s saying it’s unfortunate because women are beautiful, interesting beings and she wishes she were attracted to them in a sexual way, as well as being attracted to men. Just as there are many gay people out there who say they don’t get to pick their sexuality, there’s many hetero’s out there who also don’t get to pick their sexuality even though they might LIKE to be attracted to the same sex. I think that’s all she’s saying.

    • Mel says:

I agree, what a dumb comment. If she had said “I’ve come to realise I’m gay, which is unfortunate”, she WOULD have quite rightly been jumped on for saying something so dumb.

      • Frayed_Edges says:

+1 – lets not make sexual orientation go the same way as race, where there is now a double standard against white people – if we want equality, we have to have true equality.

  6. M79 says:

LOL. Someone is trying to attract attention by saying they are heterosexual and have lesbian fantasies? It’s called being honest. More people should try that sometime.

  7. Tiffany27 says:

All jokes aside I totally agree with her. I love Dita.

  8. MST says:

I wonder if she also has fantasies about actually having a “talent” besides taking off her clothes.

    • normades says:

Sorry, Dita just doesn’t take of her clothes and wiggle around. I’ve seen a show of her’s live and every minute of it was art in motion. She is amazing. Period.

  9. Me says:

I think that sounds tacky. That’s something you say to your friends for a laugh even if you do kind of feel that way. When you say it in public, as a public figure you just look like a try hard. And if people want “fluid sexuality” to be a mainstream concept then stop sensationalizing the ‘gay’ aspect of sexuality. Ugh. Something is “accepted” when people dont give a shiznaz and Dita, I dont give a shiznaz.

  10. Veruca says:

Don’t get me wrong — from what I’ve read of her and seen, I find her stunning and refreshing.

Yet, every time I see her I get the feeling she’s the saddest person in the world. I get the impression she’s created this character of perfection to alleviate her feelings of self-hatred.

Sorry to get all analytical, and I truly hope I’m wrong, but that’s just my read.

    • Erm says:

I agree. She looks sad underneath all the glamour. Or maybe it’s just boredom.. whatever it is, she exudes no joy.

    • tmbg says:

I love Dita, but you’re right. She does have a bit of sadness in her eyes. Maybe it’s nothing because we don’t know her, but that’s the impression I get too.

I understand wanting to make yourself over into something perfect too. I don’t like looking in the mirror. When I have to, I’m always seeing what isn’t exactly right. Pimples, lines on my forehead, hair with highlights that aren’t good enough, hair that isn’t thick enough, the hairline is too wide, the chin is too long, etc., etc. I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember and it’s not going to end anytime soon. My mom is the same way. I’m in my 30s and thought it would have gotten better by now, but it hasn’t.

      • CreamSoda says:

@TMBG – I hope it gets better for you. I used to think like that too and it can be painful. I started to come out of it after having cancer and then even more so upon becoming a mom. But I wish I had been able to stop those thoughts when I was younger; I just didn’t know how. Just know that those little things that bother you don’t define you.

  11. Rin says:

I think that I might say that, as well, if I had ever let Marilyn Manson have teh sex with me.

I hear women say this and I think its stupid. I would imagine that lesbians find this patronizing–I would if I were gay.

Heterosexuality is not “out” or “old school”. It just “is”, just as being gay “is”. I hate this sexuality as a fad thing. It absolutely discredits the very earnest and visceral relationships that everyone outside of Hollyweird has.

    • muppet_barbershop says:

      Seriously. Thank you.

    • Jayna says:

I know so many girls who did the bi thing briefly just because it was the cool, in thing to do and because we had a hot friend who was bi and all the guys loved her. it was so transparent it wasn’t experimenting but just trying to be hip.

  12. e.non says:

i can’t believe anna wintour’s appearance on colbert isn’t getting any attention. she actually came off quite well; and was a good opponent for colbert. at the end he jokingly said they should go out for french fries sometime; and she seriously took him up on it.

  13. elvynn says:

Women you do know that she has made some lesbian’s porn?
I mean you can find the videos in Internet. It isn’t a secret.
So i don’t think she is trying to appeal the lesbian or gay people.

  14. Sean says:

Rather useful if she has to do more lesbian porn.

  15. LittleDeadGirl says:

I so agree with her, sadly we can’t chose our orientation, or at the least I can’t.

  16. Isabel says:

I find this very odd, since in a previous interview she said she has been in a relationship with a woman.

  17. muppet_barbershop says:

@Isabel that just means she was figuring it out at the time… Folks, it is not unusual for straight women to say they wish they were gay. Sometimes it is because they genuinely find women more attractive in theory. Other times they have a hilarious delusion that women will be kinder and more sensitive. It can also be both of course.

    • Isabel says:

Thanks, didn’t read the whole post at first *shame* It is more clear now, thanks! You are right:)

  18. thank you very much,it’s a very good Article!

  19. Adrien says:

Dita’s face is growing by the year. It’s starting to morph into Rumer Willis’ face shape.

  20. Dee Cee says:

BS she private wild parties doing whatever-all..

  21. Eleonor says:

Well the full quote is: “after much experimentation over the years — I have come to realize that I am hetero, which I personally think is unfortunate, because in my dreams, my sexual attraction isn’t limited to just men! But it is what it is, isn’t it? We don’t really get to decide, do we?”
It’s much more articulated, than that single phrase.
