Kristen Stewart: “If you don’t have the heart to back up your looks, you are ugly”

These are some new photos of Kristen Stewart at LAX yesterday. We had a nice story about Kristen yesterday too – I really liked the way she talked about her cat “roommate” and her co-parenting relationship with her “child” – a mutt named Bear that she and Robert Pattinson (mostly him) adopted in Louisiana. K-Stew is cute when she talks about animals, and I had the realization that she’s probably more of an animal person than a people-person, which makes me like her a little bit more. But I’ve also come to this conclusion: Kristen is so much more likeable in small doses. When she does a major magazine or newspaper interview, her personality starts to grate – at least on me. Kristen has a new interview with The Guardian, which… is not very good. It’s not bad, it’s just a whole lot of Kristen. The Guardian’s intensive interviews are notoriously difficult, so I wonder what idiot publicist let Kristen speak to this outlet. The full piece is here, and here are some highlights:

How Kristen decided to become an actor: Her parents were crew members, and she had spent time on film sets where there was a feeling that: “we were all in this together, and we were making something worthwhile”. She takes one of many deep, meaningful breaths. “And then I would see a kid walk around and people would be like: ‘Shhh, that’s the actor, don’t talk to him.’ And I was like, I want a job, I want you guys to talk to me like I matter!”

Feeling trapped in hotel rooms: “I mean, if I walked out of this hotel” – Claridge’s – “obviously I’d be screwed. But in London, I am perfectly fine, unless I have a trail of parasites behind me.” The paparazzi are at the hotel entrance when I leave. “But I’m good at evading those little twits. Once I lose them, once no one’s trying to make a buck off you, you know, I’m fine – I know at this point that there’s a buck to be made, which is weird considering I’m just walking down the street with dirty hair.”

The original Disney Snow White: “In the original she totally represents what a woman wanted to be back then: the ultimate maternal figure. She cleans house really well. It’s just that [women] do more than that now.” Instead they created a “bad-ass, girl power movie”, she says, in which the character’s strength is represented in a realistic way. “We’re not built to take out big guys in armour. So it was really more about being faster and smarter.”

On beauty: She starts talking about how beauty is ruined “if you’re not cool as well. If you don’t have the heart to back up your looks, you are ugly. I’ve met so many people that I thought were so gorgeous and talented and amazing. And then you meet them for one second and you’re like,” she heaves another breath, and spits out emphatically, “‘you are wearing a costume, you are a fake, you are so unattractive’. And it doesn’t always come across in a picture, but you can be really beautiful in a still frame, and then, in life, moving around, you’re ugly. And that’s kind of what the movie’s about.”

Comparing Twilight and SWATH: There’s a big similarity between Snow White and Twilight, she says, in that, “there’s a stage of life represented in both movies that is so impassioned, and it doesn’t know why yet. Do you know what I mean? That was what I really liked about Bella. The fact that she trusted that at some point these feelings are going to make sense, and that she’s not going to let everyone tell her she’s f–king crazy. Also, it was just so,” she takes a big breath, “it was so intense,” she laughs.

She’s intense too: “Yeah, I’m still a very intense person.” She’s 22 now. “I’m chilled out about some things. I’m cool. But definitely, I take things far too seriously … I am just a serious person. I love joking around, and it’s obviously about mood, because sometimes I can definitely be a silly idiot. But most of the time I am like this.” She makes a sound as if her mouth has been suctioned shut. Quite private? “Yeah,” she says. “And I’m overtly aware of f–king everything. I’m always like,” she mimes picking things out of the air, “details, little things. Just obsessive, analytical.”

On Twilight and whether Bella is weak: “I always just very honestly said that that’s not why I did the movie, and it’s not why the book was written,” she says, adding that she finds it frustrating when people read the characters differently to her. “Mostly in this idea that Bella is a weak girl who is just obsessed with these two boys, and doesn’t really think beyond her own needs, and is selfish. And she is, completely, but that’s like the way to live, man! You’ve got to follow your heart. That is actually a really bold way to live, not making concessions, or giving things up … I don’t know why people ignore the sacrifices that Edward makes. I don’t know why the power thing has been viewed the way it’s been viewed, because I just view it so differently.”

Seriously, she always goes off script: “I think in order to do [On the Road] right, in order to make everyone happy – because there’s a lot of people sitting around going: ‘OK, let’s have it’ – it had to be spontaneous, it had to have that feeling of never quite knowing where someone’s going to jump or scream,” she says. “So sometimes it was a truer reading of the line to just forget it, and say it your own way.”

On being a commodity: “When you make moving pictures, it’s so easy to become disingenuous,” she says. “It’s so easy to just become a commodity, and I think that’s so embarrassing.” And with that, she finishes her milk.

[From The Guardian]

The Guardian also notes how twitchy Kristen is, and how she’s not the most eloquent young woman, but they also say that it seems like Kristen tries very, very hard to come across as genuine and honest, and that quality is endearing. Still, I have to think The Guardian would have been better off interviewing Charlize Theron or Chris Hemsworth. Poor Kristen – some of this stuff isn’t her fault. She gets bad advice from publicists.

what’s bad about the interview?? I agree with her, you can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you’re ugly on the inside then none of that matters

    • Orly says:

You do realise the beauty analogy is just one tiny bit of the interview, right?

      • Chantay says:

Yes, beauty is only one tiny part of this interview, but…the thing that freaks me out is that Robert Pattinson was the good looking one when this twilight saga came out and she was the awkward looking girl (the nose was a little too bulbous at the tip…was it tweaked?). Now she is solidly better looking than he is & he is the goofy, awkward looking one: he’s gone from a matinee idol to a semi-spaz. The beauty equation shifted in their relationship.

      • Orly says:

I don’t get what you’re trying to say here, Chantay. How does it relate to my comment?

    • Jordan says:

She didn’t specifically say that people who are horrible on the inside are ugly, she said if you’re not COOL you’re ugly. What a twit!

      • twisted says:

I think this is Kristen’s problem. She adds words and phrases that makes her sentences lose their meaning. Obviously , she means HAVING A GOOD HEART but she adds being cool as the first sentence. I believe she is not a TWIT but she sure has a bit of a communication problem.
Over all this interview is ok.

    • gloaming says:

Agreed shailee. I have an acquaintance who I initially thought was stunning, a bit like Beatrice Dalle in Betty Blue, but she has an awful personality and now I know her better, I can’t see any beauty whatsoever.

As for Kirsten, I saw her being interviewed on Graham Norton and I liked her, but the girl’s so uncomfortable in her own skin.

      • Genevieve says:

This is one of the new crop of starlets that I’ve always rooted for. Despite her obvious unease and discomfort during interviews (she comes across as so desperately twitchy and uncomfortable on the telly, that when I first saw her interviewed, I thought she might have overdone the blow in the Green Room). But I love the fact that she doesn’t milk the tabloids and the papps for all they’re worth. She values her privacy and behaves well publicly. It’s like looking at what The Cracken might have been, if she didn’t have Dina and Michael Lohan as parents and “momager). I think she has some solid inner resources, she makes good choices and these will hold her in good stead down the road when the “pretty” starts to go away. Quirky, yes…she will have to come to terms with the fact that the press will always be a part of her life and career, and learn to deal with them more graciously. But I REALLY like this girl. I don’t think we’ll ever see her on the cover of Playboy, or showing up late to work, earning the ire of directors and cast members everywhere. Plus, I LOVE how her fashion is evolving….most important of all for me, lol, SO shallow!! . If Balenciaga andPrada want to dress her, she’s got to be doing SOMETHING right, yes?

    • Tapioca says:

      Halle Berry.
      Nicole Kidman.
      Julia Roberts.
      Naomi Campbell.
      Linda Evangelista.

All given endless passes on their behaviour and sailing through life on beauty, despite being well known bitches. Sadly what’s on the inside is often totally irrelevant!

    • CTgirl says:

So, what we’re supposed to take away from this interview is that if you’re not cool you’re ugly, she’s an intense little thing who takes herself too seriously, going off script to be “real” is what making movies (that aren’t real) is all about, and that taking lots of money to represent Balanciaga’s new fragrance did not make her a commodity. She’s friggin’ brilliant as always.

      • CTgirl says:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that being selfish to follow your heart is what it’s all about. I’m tearing up now . . .

      • Lila says:

Jesus. I’m very meh on KS, but I often defend her on this site because of dumb shit like this. Anyone with half a brain can tell she’s saying if you are ugly on the inside, it negates your beauty on the outside. That’s a very normal, if cliche comment. The cool is an addition, not the entire statement, and cool (besides it’s literal meaning) is often synonymous with good. She’s uneducated, so she used cool instead of good.

      • coral says:

oh jee-sus, mary and joseph. Please tell me you’re joking with that line of thinking. It’s funny cause Kristen’s really shitty at speaking and getting her point across(she needs to work on it for sure, she comes off lame a lot), and then you mix that with people with really bad inference skills and it’s like a free-for-all all around!

      • shaboo says:

why are people so into trashing everything she says? It’s clear what she meant by that ‘cool’ comment.

She’s on about people being decent and nice, as in ‘yeh don’t worry about him, he’s cool’ (if you were at work) It’s obviously not intended in a ‘hipster cool’ kind of way.

      • CTgirl says:

It’s obvious what she meant but the whole “cool” thing just shows, once again, how incredibly inarticulate KS is. It’s just kind of tragic at this point.

      • coral says:

actually, it wasn’t obvious, since your post was about how stupid she was. Being dumb and being inartculate are two different things though. She’s got shitty, shitty speaking and processing skills, but I don’t think she’s stupid. She needs like a xanax before interviews to relax and actually think before letting crap come out of her mouth. That may be a whole different problem too – my bestie has social anxiety disorder and says dumb shit all the time and all the xanax in the world wouldn’t help that. And she’s getting her doctorate at Yale, so go figure.

      • CTgirl says:

Obvious because the inability of an average adult to effectively communicate, especially in regards to their chosen career and personal opinions, tends to make one look less than brilliant.

  2. Hubbahun says:

She’s right though – your personality writes itself on your face eventually – look at the Cracken (but use a sick bag :D). I like Kristen.

  3. Johanna says:

I don’t think writers appreciate it when you go off scrip. I thought there were regulations with that. Am I wrong?

  4. cprincess says:

actually I can’t help but like this girl with her permanent stoner look and what she says about beauty is absolutely right-someone like Jennifer Lopez is a good example-physically a beautiful woman but theres something about her that makes her ugly and it comes from the inside.

  5. Jill says:

Yes Kristen I’m sure screenwriters totally appreciate your twitchy lip biting “truer” version of the script.

    • Orly says:

Silly Jill, clearly Kristen knows better that the writers.

    • Lila says:

Yeah, that was pretty dumb. I’m
not getting the hate over her other answers though…she does not express herself well, but she didn’t say anything particularly offensive or idiotic besides the script thing… At least she did not pull a Jessica Alba…She may be talking about Walter Salles anyway (director of On The Road)…He’s rather notorious for having his actors/actresses go off script.

  6. Lindy says:

Hmmm, actually I think I am starting to like her more. (Though I will disagree with her 100% on her interpretation of Bella as in any way bold. That’s horsesh!t, sorry).

I did live her animal comments the other day–I’m a cat person, and my cat is TOTALLY my cantankerous roommate! (It’s okay, I have a husband and a kid and a normal life, too, I promise)!

But I think in this interview she probably is telling us some things about herself–that she is introspective and analytical. That’s probably why she comes off as so uncomfortable in public.

    • cmc says:

In her defense on the Bella comments, the last movie hasn’t premiered yet, right? Twilight is not only her launching pad to super stardom, it is still currently her job. She would be an ungrateful jerk if she just sat there and trashed the character that has paid her bills for the last few years.

Remember how we all used to jump down her throat when she was kind of ungrateful for/not a fan of the series? I’d rather hear her defend her work.

  7. shailee says:

but there’s nothing bad about the whole interview, if directors don’t have a problem with her changing some of the lines why does it bother you? if they tell her to stop I’m sure she would

  8. Jackie says:

being young, uneducated, immature, and overwhelmed by the spotlight is not a good combination.

someone needs to pull her back from these interviews and remind her this will probably all go away in a few years. it may not, but the odds are not in her favour.

  9. jojo says:

IDK Kristen’s interviews don’t really grate me like they do others.

She might not be eloquent but it seems that she believes in what she’s saying. A lot of times in these profiles you get a since that the celebrities are trolling fans and the media.

  10. Scarlett says:

She’s vacant, dumb and uneducated but thinks she’s very deep, smart and intellectual. It’s an amusing combination.

    • IzzyB says:

I agree…and she gets her from her parents. The whole family is like that! But I don’t know why since her Dad worked for Ryan Seacrest!

      • twisted says:

So what is her parents like? Have you met them? I ‘m sure you have since you seem to know that she gets “HER FROM HER PARENTS?. I think it would be best if we leave her family out of this.

      • Orly says:

I agree about leaving family out of this.
Her dad did make a very snobby (and offensive to some) comment about why Kristen was not attending the Oscars one year. I don’t remember the quote but I’m sure google can help you out there. That’s one of the reasons people always bring her parents into it.

    • geekychick says:

      @ Orly:
He was asked why Kristen wasn’t at the Oscars and he said something like, “She’ll be here when she makes something worth it.” Then Twihards attacked her bc her father said that Twilight ain’t Oscar material. I don’t find anything offensive or hurtful in that comment, just a realistic dad.
      @IzzyB
I really don’t know what do we know of her family to make such offensive comments.

      • Orly says:

I didn’t know Twihards attacked her, but I remember other people being outraged.
It wasn’t about Twilight, it was about snubbing an Oscar invitation. I think it was the year that only Robert attended.
Her dad may have been honest, but it was an unnecessary and odd response.

      • Emma says:

Twilight is not oscar worthy but that was a very obnoxious comment to make just because his daughter was not invited to the oscars.

  11. IzzyB says:

She may be right but her insights don’t seem to apply to herself and she has an unpleasant way of expressing what would otherwise be insightful and intelligent things.

  12. Lorian says:

Finally, she confirms she walks around with dirty hair.

  13. Emma says:

I think she’s just the type of person who needs to sit down on her own and think about her opinion on something before actually voicing it. Interviews seem to make her quite nervous and when you’re nervous and people ask you questions you need time to think about but you have to answer immediately, words get mixed up and when you’re so desperate to say anything you may say something you don’t actually mean. This video kind of sums up what I’m trying to describe here: http://youtu.be/SCgj2Gor25g

  14. nina says:

She comes off very young for her age. I wonder how twilight has sorta stunted her in some respects, she’s been in that little twilight bubble and it’s like she’s been preserved at 18 for four years now.

At the same time, I don’t find her half as offensive as other stars, she just seems like a girl who would do well to take a break and go to college for a couple of years.

    • Scarlett says:

She seems very stunted and immature but at the same time lacks the self-awareness to realize that she has some growing to do. I get the feeling from her interviews that she thinks she’s very mature and worldly. The dichotomy is amusing from an outsider’s perspective but in reality it just makes her look more like a vacant moron. At 22 she should at least be able to conduct an interview like an adult and be able to have something of an intelligent thought-coherently put together.

But I think she just seems lazy and not particularly bright or intellectually curious. She thinks she’s all of these things-but it’s all window dressing, all surface teenage posturing. Teens usually outgrow that stuff by their early 20s.

Essentially she’s a bore and an idiot.

      • nina says:

Most people who are immature don;t know they are, that’s why teenagers are so frustrating.

And I don’t think she’s dumb so much as inarticulate and oversheltered in her celebrity bubble. She needs to go to college and live like a normal person and mature a bit. It’s usually not what she says that’s the problem, but how she says it. And that goes back to her needing express herself more accurately and in a focused manner.

  15. marie says:

either she needs to figure out what she wants to say before opening her mouth or she needs to quit doing interviews. reading and then trying to decipher what this girl means is painful. I don’t know if she thinks it makes her sound smarter or if she doesnt know how to properly convey a thought, it always sounds like random words strewn together..

  16. Aiobhan says:

This is not the worst interview that she has given but there are still some Kristen-isms that still annoy the crap out of me- namely the Bella non-sense. Even if one wanted to look at Bella through Kristen’s delusional glasses Bella is still an ahole who is leading two men on and being a selfish bitch on top of it. There is nothing bold or take charge about emotionally manipulating your “best friend” and the man you “love”. Why would you want to live your life like that?

  17. aquarius64 says:

Sorry I can’t accept her defense of Bella. This is a clumsy, unambitious, low self-esteem female who is obsessed with a vampire and strings along a werewolf as her back up plan. What right-minded female accepts one guy’s marriage proposal and makes out with his rival 48 hrs. later (see Eclipse)? In real life BOTH guys would have been done with her for the games she plays.

I wish Stephenie Meyer would have written another female in the mix, one close to Jacob’s age and he imprinted on that girl. Watching Bella deal with her jealousy of Jacob’s new love, and putting her marriage to Edward at risk, is a better plot twist than imprinting on an infant (ick).

    • it really doesn't matter but says:

Just a mention – both Rob and Kristen had huge problems with the Eclipse script. I think Kristen had to somehow justify Bella’s actions in her mind in order to acurately portray her in that movie. But I remember several interviews where they both alluded to the fact that it was very difficult to give a genuine performance when you can’t reconcile the character’s behavior.
I guess this is one situation where the actors weren’t allowed to go off script!
And although I think she sometimes comes off horribly in interviews, I do like her and find her interesting. I don’t think she is vacant or dumb, but it seems that she overthinks everything.

  18. Scarlett says:

Every commercial I’ve seen for Snow White only features Hemsworth or Theron. They are hiding Stewart- which tells me all I need to know about her performance.

    • Kkkaren says:

I think you’re probably right there. Already I’m gearing up for a major disappointment. I’d like the huntsman to end up with the Queen and humanize her but I know it aint gonna happen.

    • Emma says:

You really don’t like her, do you? You’ve written three comments on just this post on how awful you think she is. I think that’s so sad, that you use up your own time to write nasty comments about some celebrity.

    • Lila says:

I don’t know where you are, but here in LA they played a trailer before Dark Shadows. Stewart had several lines lines and more screen time than Hemsworth, who only spoke like once or twice….Plus, there are at least three big ass billboards of her on my short drive to work.

      • Scarlett says:

I’m not the only one who has remarked on this. The major glaring hole in all of the marketing for this film is how little you see of Snow White. It’s what I’ve seen come up whenever the film is talked about (other than why Stewart was cast since she’s not as beautiful as Theron). The marketing has definitely had a specific strategy and it’s to show Theron and Hemsworth and very very little of Stewart.

      • coral says:

This isn’t rocket science, scarlett. If they didn’t have any faith in Kristen, they would have never cast her in the first place. Universal isn’t going to waste a 150 budget on some girl they don’t have confidence in, and give her points on top of the 15 million paycheck.

Where she’s a problem is that she’s tied to Twilight, and a lot of people, mainly men, hate Twilight. If you’re trying to sell an action adventure during summer, you DON’T alienate dudes. So you roll out Bella White slowly, and you sex it up with Charlize in milk. Had this come out in december, a different, more family oriented marketing approach would have been used.

This comes down to gender directed marketing though for a summer blockbuster, and it’s a no brainer given the fact Stewart’s still a part of an ongoing and ongoingly annoying franchise.

      • Orly says:

Coral, are you Michele? ‘Cause you’re posting just like Michele. Mmm hmm

    • bns says:

Yeah, it’s just Bella in a suit of armor.

  19. Janet says:

Whenever she opens her mouth she reinforces the impression of herself as a blithering idiot.

  20. Kkkaren says:

She sure loves that leather jacket.

  21. Courtney says:

ok ok so that interview was obnoxious but this was hilarious..
    http://www.mtv.com/videos/movies/770140/erotica-with-the-cast-of-snow-white-and-the-huntsman.jhtml#id=1644133

Charlize, kristen, and chris hemsworth all did a read of 50 shades of grey and it made me like her a little more.. she really is pretty genuine. Charlize was hilarious too.

  22. renata says:

I think people get way, way too hard on this girl.

–She basically stays out of trouble, unlike many other celebrity actresses in her age range; no DUI busts, no sex tape, other than some stories about some weed no major drug issues to speak of.

–She appears to have had 2 major boyfriends, not much for her age, both long-term, and neither of them seems to get into much of any trouble either.

–I’m not big on the Twilight stuff as it seems to be for an age-range that I have trouble even remembering, but have seen her in some of her smaller indie films and thought she showed considerable talent. She’s even made some real fans of a few of the major critics, e.g. Roger Ebert.

–The only downsides with her is that she’s not a particularly articulate 22 year old, she doesn’t wear dress-up clothes really well, and she comes off as being a bit awkward. Newsflash!! Most 22 year olds I’ve met aren’t particularly articulate, and are still in an awkward stage. So what? Besides, out of all the reasons she offers for becoming an actress, giving interviews doesn’t appear to be high on the list.

I think she’s o.k. If I had a daughter and she turned out like Kristen Stewart I would not be unhappy.

    • Orly says:

“Newsflash!! Most 22 year olds I’ve met aren’t particularly articulate, and are still in an awkward stage.”
Where are you meeting these 22 yr olds? Most 22 yr olds I’ve met have finished college/university, are working on their careers, are very well spoken and socially adept.
Kristen is the way she is. Whatever. I just don’t get the justifications based on age.

  23. shailee says:

she is not dumb, she has trouble speaking, and she tries hard not to offend people, but people always pick a every little detail of what she says, and she even admits it here, she is aware of everything, and she overanalyzes everything she does or says.

Twilight gave her money and fame, but it also screwed her up, look at some of her interviews before tw, she had a much easier time, but now she is a nervous wreck most of the times, she is good when she is with reporters that make her feel comfortable.

I hope she relaxes a little more now that tw is coming to an end, and she can feel normal, but Im sure her haters will continue to pick on her, and leave 10+ commments on her threads, typical..

  24. another nina says:

Guardian interviews are my favorite, but unfortunately (for myself) I don’t have enough time to write about this one.

I understand that Kristen tries to be very genuine and to reveal to us THE REAL Kristen. It’s too bad that there is nothing there to see YET. (I stress this “YET” because I think she might grow into someone interesting eventually…)

But so far, it pains to read all this shit because she has not yet formed strong opinions, she does not have real life experiences (outside of her niche industry), she obviously has not read much and she is not educated. And on top of that she does not bother to prepare for interviews. I don’t like that she believes that she is so smart and unique but then again she is very successful in the industry and she lives in a bubble.

On a personal note, I love that she “you know what I mean-ed” Guardian 18 times – I feel for the reporter 😉 Because most of the times I have no f-n idea what she means.
P.S. I do believe that she is kind (judging by other interviews, not this one.)

    • Adrien says:

I enjoy reading the comments section of The Guardian. Most of the time, the commentaries are more entertaining than the articles themselves and at times more insightful than the journo/author.

  25. original almond says:

I’m beginning to think she’s a fervent adherent to dadaism. She mixes words in an imaginary hat and forms thoughts and sentences by drawing them out at random. She should know how to properly express herself at age 22, FFS. It’s embarrassing to see someone so woefully undereducated and ignorant talk out of their arse all the time. Dear lord, to not know that you do not know.

The Bella bit is pure bullshit and she knows it. But she has to justify her character and, subsequently, her choice of role in some way. Also, she’s not done with the franchise so she still has to play nice. Then again, I’d kiss Bella’s behind as well if it brought me so much money.

  26. Theresa says:

I know this is abit off topic, but is Kristen trying to speak with a Brit accent in the movie? The role requires one for continuity, all the other main characters seem to sport some kind of accent, and now it seems an odd choice to have cast Stewart, with her particularly American way of speaking. The few lines featured in the trailers are distinctly Stewart’s voice but it is hard to tell if she is affecting an accent. Either way, I feel this is a colossal example of miscasting such a pivotal role.

    • aquarius64 says:

If her British accent is not sold all the way through the critics are going to nail her for it.

  27. TeacherNan says:

I like her. she says what she wants and isn’t a fake ninny. if people don’t like it they can bugger off. She has chutzpah!

I never liked her and think she is a terrible actress. Now we now who Charlize Theron was talking about in her recent interview. If she doesn’t like the lifestyle she surely has enough money to retire and never work again. I can’t stand actors who complain when they have one of the easiest jobs in the world. People take her picture – boo hoo.

  29. Ludmila says:

I did not understand the drama, I think when you talk about being cool (or read good heart) it refers to the white snow, but, of course, for more beautiful than a person is, if it is unpleasant, the brightness fades .
How to defend Bella, she gained a lot from Bella is like a child, hence the reason to justify it.
She needs to work on his difficulty in expressing himself, is not you ashamed to be awkward, but the techniques work and which can make it better.

  30. iseepinkelefants says:

Yes she is right but does she include herself in that? Because she has an awful emo/petulant child type personality. And it does make her ugly, but then again she isn’t all that great to begin with, she has white trash face (features one could only get from years of inbreeding).

  31. Ginger says:

I can’t stand K stews acting and she is portraying a major character from my all time favorite novel On the Road…I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt but I’m still praying she doesn’t ruin the film

  32. Skinnybetch says:

She’s just being herself, I thinks it’s refreshing. . So many assholes on this thread. I’m done with this shit hole of a website.

    • CTgirl says:

I just dig the whole “she’s just being herself” argument when KS says stupid things. Jack the Ripper was also just being himself. Not a real defense, excuse or justification.

    • Crystal says:

      Bye.

    • Jackie says:

i think you may be taking all this just a little too seriously.

who cares if commentators don’t like your favorite celeb!

      • fluffybunny says:

The problem with Kristen’s fans is that they seem to think if they say anything that could be perceived as negative they’ll have their super duper fan girl card taken away. Plus, I think she’s so bland that girls who feel down on their own blandness latch on to her to make themselves feel better. She seems to be carving a career from being belligerent and sour, and for some reason unknown to a great deal many people critics and audiences seem to lap it up. I find it some what insulting that hardworking, genuine people who are courteous, presentable and intelligent are pushed aside for these types of messes. Or called “fake”.

I get what she was saying and she’s right…but she was trying to make it sound like it was a unique thought that only a genius like herself could come up with. Everyone knows that if you’re ugly on the inside, outward appearances mean nothing. Duh.

    • Orly says:

      Buhbye, now.

  33. Skinnybetch says:

She’s just being herself, I thinks it’s refreshing. . So many assholes on this thread, find something better to do with your time.

  34. Crystal says:

Love her. I don’t think her hair is dirty, but those extensions really f*cked her hair up. Probably all the dyeing too.

I don’t blame her for defending Bella. When she bashed Twilight she got so much hate and it was from the same female fans who thought Rob bashing the series was cute and endearing. Rob gets away with so much more than her but it doesn’t surprise me that fans of this book are misogynistic as hell.

I will be so pissed if this version of Snow White is just Bella Swan in armour. I’m excited for this film so it better slay and K-Stew better bring it. Charlize will steal the show…that goes without saying.

Bella Mary-Sue Swan is a quivering jelly mess of completely useless estrogen, a narcissistic homage to young male wank fantasies and young female self obsession syndrome idolarty. I’m all for people enjoying the series as mindless entertainment, the same way people watch the Kardashians as mindless rubbish but don’t get it twisted Bella is nothing more than a stampeding clitoris on legs and pouing lips. Anyone over the age of 12 that thinks she’s a well written female character can take a stadium full of seats.

I get that it’s Kristen’s job to defend her character so I have no problem with what she said because I’m hoping that in her head she feels that Bella is a whining doormat of a Mary Sue with the personality of a McNugget (no offence to the McNuggets all over the world)
SM probably wanted Bella to be a hollow placeholder for other girls to insert their personalities into.

I do wonder how women would have reacted to Bella Swan if she had been written by a man.

  35. I Choose Me says:

I’ll say again she’s not at all articulate but if you can wade through the awkward, she does have something to say. I get that her personality grates on some people but the excessive nitpicking over every little thing she says is almost as annoying as she sometimes is.

    • KatC says:

      +1

    • CTgirl says:

No one should have to work so hard for so little. Wading through her rambles is excruciating at best and never results in any true insight or intelligent discourse.

  36. Mooshi says:

I like her awkwardness. Its refreshing.

At her age she is in the final stages of growing into her skin. Analytical people have a harder time. However, it shows how intelligent she is.

Her empathetic nature will make her a fine mother one day.

  37. Pat Dorty says:

I can’t stand this woman, she has the personality of a turd. (Sorry Turd) She act’s like she’s doing you a favor if she makes a comment to a reporter. She’s too arrogant for me. I’ll bet any amount of money that she’s incredibly boring to talk to. Also, she’s not that great looking, she looks sharp..i.e. pointy nose, chin, etc…

  38. Exoticarr says:

nicely done interview. She said it perfectly. What’s the big deal?

  39. LittleDeadGirl says:

Not a terrible interview but I agree. She’s much better in small doses.

  40. katie says:

Says the girl who routinely gives the bird while walking down the red carpet. I don’t think that makes her very pretty.
