Rihanna covers Esquire UK: “The attention is something I’ve learned to ignore”

Rihanna

Another day, another set of semi-topless photos posed for by Rihanna while she claims she doesn’t like all the attention her “controversial” image garners. Never mind that the chick is endlessly tweeting photos of herself rolling blunts and posing in bikinis and making racist jokes about Chris Brown’s Asian girlfriend. But sure, Rihanna doesn’t need or want the attention at all.

With that said, Rihanna covers the July issue of Esquire UK, and the photo shoot features the singer in various topless and cheesecake type shots with a crochet bra. There’s also this photo of Rihanna showing off her half-crack in a cutout bikini bottom. A lot of you thought Rihanna’s butt was airbrushed in candid shots of her Hawaiian vacation, but I didn’t think so at the time. This photo, however, definitely contains an airbrushed butt:

Rihanna

On fame: “The attention is something I’ve learned to ignore. This is what I do. I live my life and they document it. A lot of things I don’t care for people to know, but it just is. That’s what it’s become.”

On recording with Chris Brown: “I thought people were gonna be surprised that we finally did a record together, but I didn’t see how people could think it was a bad thing, you know? In my mind, it was just music.”

Five years from now: “Hopefully I’ll have a man by then. I’ve gotta start there, right? But how far I go [with my career] is God’s plan. I’m just following through my destiny. I don’t think it ever ends. It just evolves.”

[From Esquire UK]

C’mon, Rihanna totally knew that people would take issue with her recording music with her abuser. She loves playing with fire in more ways than one, you know? What irritates me more is Rihanna’s seeming lack of awareness about fame and how all this undesired attention just comes her way without any action on her part. She’s really seems to think she’s just all about the music. Sorta like Katy Perry.

As for this Esquire spread, it’s just the same old, pseudo-risque stuff we’ve come to espect from Rihanna.

Girl, put yer clothes back on.

This chick has ZERO mystery left.

  2. HappyJoyJoy says:

::: Eye Roll ::: “I didn’t think making music with the man who used my face as a piñata would upset anyone” PUHLEASE!!! She even got into arguments on twitter with people who called her out. If you’ve learned to “ignore the attention” that’s a really funny way of showing it.

  3. Courtney says:

Isn’t the attention the exact thing that she LOVES?!

  4. maryoomba says:

its sad that i’m so desensitized to her nakedness and the only thing that bugs me is that blody black hole on the top of her head. she wears wigs, WHY CANT SHE WEAR A GOOD ONE

  5. Monie says:

Yawn. Maybe seeing her wearing a turtleneck and relaxed fit jeans would be more shocking.

  6. Relli says:

After hearing such spectacular words about her from her creeptastic father my irrational dislike of Rhianna has softened. Not having full acceptance from one of the people who is supposed to care the most about you would make me have issues too. It pretty obvious she is just looking for acceptance and love.

  7. sitting quietly says:

She is just really, really immature. Time to grow up a little.

  8. Jules says:

I am waiting her induction into the Famewhore Hall of Fame.

    • Hakura says:

Oh, didn’t you hear? Everything was set up for the (Famewhore) hall of fame, celeb-gold diggers (such as Kim & Kris Kardashian, Courtney Stodden, & the entire cast of ‘The Girls Next Door‘,) flocked to the event to support one of their own, & were already inside waiting for the tribute to start….

But the security guards simply could not allow Rihanna to enter the building, UNdressed as she was. She pitched a fit, the cops were called, Rihanna was fined for indecent exposure (again), then forced to put on the police-woman’s shirt before before being allowed in to accept her award.

Totally fiction, never happened!!!! , but damn it, can’t you see it going down like that?)

  9. Katie Too says:

Maybe it’s the blonde hair or lighting, but did they lighten her skin tone?

I think she’s just at that stage where she can’t figure out what the heck she wants sexually, and it’s harder because when she wants attention drawn to some ‘new’ or ‘wild’ aspect of her personality/sexuality, it’s very very public. Maybe it’s because I went through that in my 20s, too, and I’m projecting.

  10. Jillian says:

I follow her in Instagram and she is just so “ghetto” (for lack of a better word). Every other word is b***h or n*****. She even described her mother as “my b****.”

  11. littlestar says:

Oh, whatever Rhianna. You live for the attention. Don’t be such a liar. Why else would you do such stupid things like continually chase after Chris Brown after he physically assaulted you and called you one of the biggest wh*res in the entertainment industry?

  12. Monkey Jim says:

    Delusional girl is delusional.

  13. lucy2 says:

    Classy as always!
I’m kind of back to feeling sorry for her though. She obviously has no self worth and seems pretty stupid, a sad combo.
All she sees for herself in the next 5 years is hopefully she has a man? Ugh. Start with some self respect instead.

  14. nunya beeswax says:

The second pic… is that a bathing suit? The one with the arse out..? Hot!

P.S. I love Rihanna. Love her “Idgaf” attitude even more.

  15. Jess says:

Clearly her version of IGNORE means to suck it all in and shamelessly seek and bask in it. Attention WHORE!

  16. DavidBowie says:

    Looks like a walking STD.

  17. Kim says:

The attention I hate so much hence why i pose naked in Esquire! LOL! Shes such an attention monger.

  18. anniecc says:

She’s an idiot, but I find her absolutely stunning.

  19. rlh says:

This girl needs to do this ish, ’cause while she has a decent voice, her music is crap. She needs to sell something.

  20. mzthirtyeight says:

    Mmm birthday cake haha

  21. Amanda G says:

“The attention is something I crave.”

    There, I fixed her quote.

  22. bns says:

Five years from now will she even be relevant?

  23. Leslie0195 says:

“Attention is something I’ve learned to ignore” . . .HA HA HA HA HA! More like, can’t live without. ‘Cause these pictures are about “art”? A newsworthy Rihanna story would involve her exhibiting any kid of respectful, mature behavior — not her body.

  24. Crystal says:

She has an amazing body. They need to stop making her look so light in these photoshoots.
I don’t agree with many of her choices but I love that she gives zero f*cks about people’s opinion of her. If she wants to get naked then let her. It’s her body, I’m not here for all of this slut-shaming.
She can’t sing but there are a bunch of shitty male singers that are only here for their looks and noone says anything about them. You think Trey Songz would be famous if he looked like Jabba the Hut ??? He can’t sing either. Every year a new indie/folk/alternative rock band comes out full of white guys who couldn’t sing if their life depended on it but noone goes on about how bad they are. I’m sick of all the hate that female popstars get. If they’re not Adele then they get no respect.
So what if she wants a man in five years ??? If Adele said this you guys would applaud her for her honesty but because it’s rihanna she’s got no self worth ????
I can’t believe you guys have me in here defending Rihanna…

    • Shaishai says:

THANK YOU! Omg, I was thinking JUST this! Adele spends entire albums whinging about ex-boyfriends and how they did her wrong and because she CAN sing, we give her a pass and all they did was break up with her.
Yet, we have no patience with Rihanna and her methods of dealing with being brutally beaten up by an ex and has clear issues with male figures in her life. Sure, her “gangsta gurl/sex bitch” persona is misguided but who isn’t stupid at her age? She’ll grow out of it.
Meanwhile, at least she isn’t passive-agressively shitting on any man who disappoints her in musical form.

  25. katie says:

    This, Alanis Morisette, is ironic.

  26. Nicole says:

She actually looks pretty in these photos. She hasn’t looked this good in a while.

  27. skuddles says:

Oh puhleaze!! She’s the biggest attention whore around. She’d probably curl up and die if someone told her she had to stop posting the daily ho-pics on Twitter…

  28. Hannah says:

She needs to stop bleaching her skin and trying to be something she’s not.

  29. Stubbylove says:

Way too much – overload. Proclaiming you will not be censored doesn’t mean you’re a stipper and want everyone to see your bits. All this is doing is boring the hell out of us.

  30. Ams5 says:

Categories: delusional. GENIUS. I love you behead.

  31. Ailine says:

Pics look great. Total bs on the I didn’t know that recording with my abusive ex would be taken badly.

  32. Jover says:

She is a complete and utter moron; not only a famewhore but a corporate tool as well, young people don’t even know what words like cool, hip and edgy mean; this girl is just stupid and predictably boring.

  33. Hunk says:

Please go away. Please. We never liked you.

  34. Hanna says:

Bitch trying to look like a whitegirl or something. Lose the blond wig, stop bleaching your own skin and for the love of god, cover yourslef up. Living by the term “yolo” lmfao, grow up will she?

  35. divine3021 says:

Pppl plz…. who would do a photo shoot and not get air brushed? while we waste our time here shes making the big bucks….its all about the $$$$$$.like her or not she still rich shes still famous……

  36. Lisa says:

Mmmhmm. Typical instigator. Do stupid shit, feign ignorance when people respond. “Ooh, who me? Oh, I don’t know why all of this drama follows little old me around! I just want us all to get along!”

  37. Hakura says:

I’m NO professional, but these are just my opinions on the subject:

I agree with those who mention low (to no) self esteem.

Being in photoshoots, fussed over as the center of attention, I’m sure makes her feel important/beautiful. But when she’s home without those things & no one is around, she probably can’t bear to look at herself in the mirror.

The ‘tough’ act she started so suddenly awhile back is definitely a ‘defense mechanism’. Trying to be all openly sexual & ‘gangsta’ so she comes off ‘strong’, instead of what she considers to be ‘weakness’. Especially after the incident with POS (from now on, I will no longer refer to Chris Brown by his name. He is to henceforth be referred to as ‘Piece Of Shit), she just spiraled out of control.

  38. Jill says:

she looks great. Soft make up and a hot hot hot smoking bathing suit.
