Kim Cattrall, 52, has gone topless for Sex and The City she’s gone panty-less to promote a book, and now she baring her natural boobs for a good cause.
The owner of two 16th century paintings by the Italian Renaissance master Titian has said that he’ll have to remove the paintings from public display at the National Galleries of Scotland and London unless he’s paid £ 50 million, or $76 million USD. The Duke of Sutherland needs the money in this difficult economic times and will be forced to sell the paintings if the museums can’t pony up.
In order to help raise money to save the masterpieces, Cattrall has posed along with cast members of the cabaret show La Clique in a recreation of the painting, shot by renowned photographer Tom Hunter. The project was done in collaboration with BBC Two program “The Culture Show.”
Tom Hunter is well known for his recreation of old masters and is the only photographer to have had an exhibition at the National Gallery, London.
The Culture Show challenged Hunter to create a 21st century version of the painting after he came out in support of the campaign to raise £50million to keep it on public display in Britain.
For the recreation, Cattrall posed alongside the cast of cult cabaret production La Clique.
And Miss Cattrall features as Diana in the picture alongside art students from the Courtauld Institute and performers from the hit West End burlesque show La Clique.
Tom said: ‘Kim is the perfect Diana. Just like the Greek goddess, she combines beauty with a sense of threat.
‘She was a great sport and at 52 made an amazing Diana. She more than held her own among a room full of twenty-somethings.
‘The picture can’t of course hold a candle to the original which deserves to remain on public view. This painting is sublime and to lose it to a private collection would be a tragedy.’
Cattrall, whose parents are British, is a regular visitor to the National Gallery and a huge admirer of Titian’s work.
She said: ‘Viewing this painting is like being in the presence of genius, it would be a tragedy if it were not on public view’.
The Duke of Sutherland, who owns the painting, has given the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Gallery, London until December 31 to raise £50million to buy it from him. After that point, he may sell it on the open market.
[From The Daily Mail]
I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a fan of Kim Cattrall. She seems full of herself but she’s not apologetic about it and has a kind of healthy haughtiness. Plus anyone who talks crap as much as she does without crossing the line into shrew territory is interesting to me. I like Rosie too because she just tells it like is.
Last week a story came out that Cattrall’s co-star Sarah Jessica Parker was super pissed that Cattrall had confirmed a SATC movie sequel before all the details had been ironed out. Cattrall probably doesn’t care. They can’t make the movie without her and she knows it.

Gosh, I hope when I am 52, I will look as good as she does!!! She is still totally hot. And I hardly think there is much work done.
About the painting… interesting way to raise awareness…
-
Seems like she disrobes every chance she gets.
She looks good still. -
Why? Gross
-
Cant blame her for taking up on all the chances, Lore, if I look like that at 52 you’ll have to catch me to put clothes on.
-
wow she looks good for 52

GROSS!!!! -
I know what you mean, Celebitchy, I’ve always just had a weird fondness for Kim Cattrall just because.
And holy hell, man. She looks amazing. Have to agree with everyone saying that if I looked like her, I’d just be walking around naked all the time.
-
Why does she have that thing covering half of her and the other women don’t? I think it makes the photo look weird.
-
How is a nude Photo of Kim Cattrall going to raise $76 million USD?
-
I have always been a fan of KC, Samantha was my favorite character on SATC.
She is a couple years older than I am and she looks great. To those hens who said ‘gross’, you can only hope to look that good in your 50’s. Lighten up.

Fried eggs hanging off a doornail.
-
While it is slightly disturbing that she is so quick to disrobe, I think her body is rockin’, and far from “gross”. Her boobs look amazing, and I don’t think she’s had implants, a lift, or anything from the looks of it. I also like how she stands up for herself and was so cool about discussing sexual satisfaction (and lack thereof) in that book she wrote.
And she is only partially covered in the photo because that is how the painting is.
-
The reason she’s partially covered is because they’re reproducing the poses in one of the Titians they’re trying to save.
And anyone who doesn’t think she’s smoking hot for 52 is just nucking futs.
-
geez give me a break it was a d**n joke
You know who also looks good for her age? Madonna. Does that mean I want to see her pose nude? HELL NO! Okay okay bad analogy but you get my drift.
Oh & I’ll lighten up as soon as you learn not to take things personally.
GROSS!GROSS!GROSS!GROSS! I kid KC! I kid! I kid!
-
She needs to age gracefully. She wasn’t pretty at 30 and she looks even worse 20 long hard years later. She’s horrible.
-
Heidi, maybe you should have written I’m a kid, instead of I kid.
Just a joke, don’t take it so personally
btw, you spelled damn wrong

I did a bit of a google hunt. The painting that is apparently being recreated here is called Diana and Actaeon. To me, it looks like a very loose representation. See the original for yourself.

Meh. Let the paintings be sold on the open market. It’s not the worst thing, seriously.
Besides, the art markets have collapsed. Whichever Chinese private collector buys these paintings will get a bargain. Capitalism!
