Amy Winehouse looked to be sort-of recovering recently. She seemed to be a lot more sober and healthy-looking after a stint in hospital in late October, and emerged looking remarkably refreshed. Then Amy’s husband Blake was released from prison to rehab in mid November, and she went on a rampage before his release, freaking out in the street and banging on the door of her old apartment as if she expected him to be there.
Amy just admitted that her marriage with Blake is over and that he’s with the German model who was seen crying. It was thought that things might be looking up for her, like she could be ready to pick up her life and move on. Blake’s sentence was upheld by the court and he has to remain in rehab for 15 more months to serve out the remainder of his term. He won’t be able to see Amy other than on visits and if they’re through it could be easier for her to move on since he’s stuck in one place for a while.
Amy was rushed to the hospital yesterday after suffering a seizure that is thought to have been drug-induced. It wasn’t her first seizure from drugs. Her rep says it was due to prescription medication. The Sun claims she got in a fight with Blake over the phone and went on a bender:
The junkie diva, 25, was rushed to a London clinic after collapsing with a “seizure” during the bender.
Doctors performed a battery of tests – and were yesterday continuing to monitor her.
A source close to the troubled singer said of the phone bust-up with her hubby following his release from jail: “They had a screaming row. She was beside herself after the call – and she just totally lost it.”
As Amy recovered in hospital yesterday, her druggie husband, 26 – out on early release – failed to get a cut in his 27-month sentence for attacking a pub landlord and perverting justice by trying to cover it up.
A condition of being let out is that he completes the remainder of his term at a rehab clinic.
As he left London’s Court of Appeal, he said of his wife: “I’m in love with her.”
Amy is paying his £32,000 treatment fee but has not visited him. Pals claim she wants to sever ties.
One said: “While Blake was inside Amy looked like she was finally getting her life back together.”
Amy’s row over the phone on Saturday was followed by a bender that lasted until the next day.
The source said: “It didn’t stop until she was on the floor on Sunday. She has ended up in hospital a few times after similar drink and drugs related seizures. If she carries on, one of these incidents will be her last.”
Amy’s spokesman confirmed she was taken to hospital on Sunday but claimed she had “a bad reaction to the combination of medication she has currently been prescribed.”

Maybe Blake heard that Amy said it was over and called her up proclaiming his love and trying to get her back. He may have messed with her head, and she turned to drugs again trying to cope. It’s a vicious cycle for that woman and I hope she can get out of it somehow for her sake. She’s already wasted years of her life that she’ll never get back. Hopefully she won’t be cutting her life short by decades.

I think it’s ridiculous to blame Blake Paroled for Amy’s descent into craziness and addiction. She’s had ample opportunities to get clean, and she refused. Past time for tough love, Winehouse.

Patrick Swayze is fighting for life…and this little twit has been binging on drugs for how long now and treating her body like a sewer.
I’m sick of her. She clearly has no interest in saving her own life.

It really could have been a result of prescribed drugs… people have been known to OD if they mix methadone with oxycontin or morphine.
It’s not a stretch to think that she binged with drugs that the doctors gave her.

You are right. You cannot blame someone else for your own substance abuse issues. Everyone is resonsible for their own behavior.
While I feel bad for anyone with these stuggles – ultimately only Amy can save herself.

Four months ago I might’ve still cared. Addicts wring you out – I don’t even know her (met her once though)so imagine what her family’s going through. I imagine though they’re heaving sighs of resignation. It’s definitely like a death watch.

Poor button. Addicts aren’t known for their legendary coping skills. The sooner Blake is out of her system, the sooner she can focus on herself.
Are we sure this was an “accidental” overdose? A very significant person in her life publicly rejected her for another woman – and even though her crackie brain knows it’s for the best, she could still be very heartsick. I know she’s been out of control before, but the timing seems very suspicious. . .

Heath Ledgers death was tragic. Is it horrible for me to wish it was Amy instead of heath? yes, it is. But I still feel that way. One had a family and a child and was obviously inlove with his work and an involved parent. The other could careless abotu her career, life, and reputation.

I think that Amy has a wonderful, down-to-earth personality and she has some talent, yes. I agree with people when they say, ‘Maybe Frank and Back to Black were all Amy has to offer.’ Not everyone is prolific in their work.
She just loves to embody the fucked up, strung out punk kid from Camden. We’re all not surprised at this point. It’d be cool if she would get the fuck over everything and produce something art-worthy, so we’d actually have something to talk about instead of another drug OD. But she made her bed, what with baiting the paparazzi and acting foolish.
@Jackie – And yeah, that’s her bra strap, not a cover-up of Blake The Fake’s name tattoo.

Ah, no. The ballet slippers of death are back. She briefly wore some normal sneakers, but it was too much to hope that she had gotten away from these things. It gets bad when the ballet slippers are back.
In all seriousness, she has such an amazing talent and it’s being flushed down the toilet. Get clean, Amy. Love yourself. Live.

I think you have to have walked a mile or two or three in those ballet shoes to remain hopeful. I’ve seen it happen. Not likely, I’ll admit, but still possible. I’ll never give up on her totally – she’s given me too many hours of pleasure with her music and her wonderful voice. I kitchen dance to her music on a regular basis.

For every ‘seizure’ and ‘medicinal mixup’ Winehouse has, the trauma to brain increases. It must be pretty bad, if she’s still in hospital. I find it cruel and mercenary for her record company to be sending out emails, promoting her ‘deluxe CD’ whilst using her name on MySpace. The record company has been recycling the damned thing for a year now, and that album’s almost 3 friggin’ years old!
Damn, those drugs and booze are expensive!
