Singer Bryan Adams has a mother-son team of stalkers

Okay, so he hasn’t really been relevant since the early 90s, but that doesn’t mean Canadian singer Bryan Adams doesn’t have fans. I’m talking crazy nutjob fans who follow him everywhere he goes. A mother and son who first met Bryan in a restaurant have been showing up at his home and other places - to the point that Adams is seeking police protection. Turns out these devoted fans have a long history of mental illness. Lucky him!

Rock star Bryan Adams has called in police after being stalked by a mother and her son, it emerged today.

The 49-year-old, who lives in Chelsea, has been hounded by the obsessed fans for a number of weeks, and has now involved Scotland Yard.

The pair, understood to be from Romania, first saw the Canadian singer in a restaurant and approached him for an autograph.

They later turned up at his west London home and have been shadowing him ever since. It is thought they are suffering from psychiatric problems.

Adams, who is famous for the hit song Everything I Do (I Do It For You), which spent 16 weeks at number one from July 1991, is said to be “very concerned” by the harassment.

A source said: “They have become obsessed with Bryan, turning up at his house and following him everywhere.

“It started when they saw him in a restaurant. Bryan likes to keep a low profile and is hardly the most recognisable rock star.

‘He was happy to sign an autograph, but this woman and her son have become obsessed with him.

‘He doesn’t want them to get in any serious trouble, but he really wants to be left alone by them.’

Romania- maybe they’re vampires! With really bad taste in music! Maybe I’m just being cruel today, but when I picture someone stalking Bryan Adams, I imagine them stepping straight out of 1987 - pegged jeans, Reebok high tops and teased up mall hair. If I were Bryan, I’d call the cops too. Who needs to be reminded of those hideous fashions ever again?

Bryan has actually been doing quite well lately as a photographer. He had a major exhibit of his work earlier this year in Germany, featuring photos of musicians such as Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse and Rod Stweart.

By the way, Bryan’s hit, “Straight From the Heart,” was my high school prom song. Yeah. Time to take my Geritol now.

  2. I’m curious about the ages of the stalkers. Is the mother closer to Bryan’s age, or is the son?

  4. When I glanced at the first pic I totally thought it was Maury Povich, or at least someone related to him. Maybe these nutjobs think he is Maury.

  5. He’s famous for that Robin Hood song? I knew who he was when I was like, 4 years old, five years before his alleged claim to fame. And wow, stalking Bryan Adams. What an odd thing for a mother and son to bond over.

  7. I saw him live in concert here in South Africa in the early nineties… He rocked, I must say. I was in the front row and did the whole “I touched his sweaty hand” thing… We weren’t allowed to take pics. I took about 60.

He did seem like a bit of a lecherous dude, but I was about 18, so it was all good!

I want to LOL at this story. And I know stalkers are really unfunny. But it still makes me laugh.
