Taylor Swift in red lace at the iHeartMusic festival: too sweet or just right?

These are new photos of Taylor Swift over the weekend, closing out the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas. Swifty heard the word “heart” and she said, “I’M THERE!” She even wore a red lace dress for the occasion, like it was Valentine’s Day or something. I just don’t even know with this woman. I guess I should be thankful that Swifty was in Nevada over the weekend instead of in Massachusetts, signing out her high school lover to bang him in a quaint New England bed and breakfast. Speaking of, there was another Kennedy wedding over the weekend, and everyone is billing this as “Wow, Swifty did NOT wedding-crash this one, how shocking!”

Taylor Swift can’t be blamed for ruining this Kennedy wedding. The singer and her 18-year-old beau, Conor Kennedy, were nowhere to be found as Michael Kennedy Jr., the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, married Mary Campbell on Saturday in an understated but elegant ceremony before 155 guests on Nantucket.

The bride, bearing a bouquet of calla lilies, wore a backless white gown and no veil. She was flanked by bridesmaids in eggplant-colored dresses carrying hydrangeas, according to an attendee who wished to remain anonymous.

The nondenominational ceremony at a closely guarded $7 million compound began with a bagpipe performance of a traditional Scottish song. It lasted about 10 minutes, the witness said.

Joseph, Max and Rory Kennedy were there, along with Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford. A frail-looking Ethel Kennedy was also in attendance.

But the 4:30 p.m. celebration was as much about who wasn’t there as who was, the source said.
Swift and Conor Kennedy were missing, which came as little surprise. Last month, the duo reportedly ignored a request from the mother of the groom, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, that the country singer not attend her daughter’s Camelot wedding, fearing Swift would show up the bride.

[From the NYDN]

I kind of wonder if Swifty felt like she got burned on that whole wedding debacle last month. Yes, she behaved like an a—hole (as did Conor Kennedy), but it seemed like the outpouring of Miss Manners-esque RAGE towards Swifty was something she had never really experienced before. Maybe she’s trying to play it quieter now?

And here’s something nice: in October, Swifty is going to take part in a live webcast which will be shown in classrooms around the country. Swifty will be promoting the importance of reading, and she’ll be doing a Q&A from students.

I feel like I’ve seen too much versions of this dress.

  2. marie says:

I guarantee this chick has written Mrs. Conor Kennedy 1000 times on a note pad somewhere..

Red is a pretty color on her, but the dress makes her boobs look weird..

  3. Andrew says:

Even though she gets on my nerves sometimes, I think she does a lot of great things. As an elementary teacher, I think it is awesome she is promoting reading. Be thankful she’s not a crackhead and seen partying half naked. And I think the dress looks nice.

  4. Eleonor says:

She puts a lot of efforts in reading promotion, that’s very beatiful, I give her credit.

  5. Bellabumbum says:

We get it Taylor, you heart music.
I feel like I’m watching the making of LeeAnn 3.0 or a bad Lifetime movie.

  6. H says:

Her new Album is called Red, ever since then she wears red to every promotional event.

    • lw says:

It feels so gimmicky. She heard that red was going to be one of the colors of the season, titled her album red, and now wears red at every appearance. Plus the bangs and red lipstick. Where is the originality? She’s more of a trend follower than my 17 year old niece.

    • I Choose Me says:

For real? Smh. I just can’t with this chic.

  7. Imelda says:

Not again with the overtly red bow-lips of destruction – now we got the 70’s eyeshadow to go with ’em.
Her hair colour is looking ashier by the day.
Not even going there with the lace dress.

  8. samira25 says:

Lace has never been my thing but I hate the black underlay. It looks off.

Unfortunately, I don’t think she’ll ever take part in a live webcast about the importance of NOT stalking.

    • KellyinSeattle says:

Eve, that’s just what I thought! 🙂 Does Conor even know how to read yet? I scream everytime I see her with her garish lipstick; I comment on it every time. The dress isn’t the worst but like someone said, it does make her boobs look weird. Anyone see her in the Macy’s commercial; dude thinks he’s dreaming because she and other celebs are there…..but is really awake…more like a nightmare.

  10. neelyo says:

That girl always wears a ton of make-up. I wonder what she really looks like. It can’t be pretty.

    • Brown says:

I actually think she looks a milliongazillion times better with less makeup. Definitely one of those “less is more” kind of faces where heavy makeup draws attention to her unique features, but not in a good way. I really wish she would lay off the candy apple red lipstick and stop trying to go for the Adele eyeliner look. It makes her look like a blow up doll.

  11. Shitler says:

I know everyone always jokes about the Kennedy clan, but just how many of these folks are there?

  12. Mary says:

Her face looks…off? Maybe it’s the strange eye make-up.

But it’s really awesome that she’s talking about the importance of reading, so, go Swifty!

  13. Dawning Red says:

I know this is the site where we bitch about celebrities, but Taylor gets a pass from me.

Let’s face it, she’s not a coked-out international call girl Z-list actress (Lindsay) someone playing bumper cars on the road (Amanda) a collection of useless fame-whores (Kardashians) a pretentious elitist (Paltrow)a woman-beating tool (Brown) an f-bomb dropping, finger-using home-wrecker (K-Screw) or a , uh, whatever the Toddlers and Tiaras things are.

I’m just saying that among the usual freaks we discuss here, she seems the most normal to me. And she’s at least advocating something important. I haven’t seen Amanda Bynes go on TV and discuss the importance of auto insurance yet!

    • morganowski says:

      Agree. Thank you!

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

      +1 Yes yes yes

    • grace says:

YES! She’s getting a bad rap here lately. I love that she’s so involved in literacy promotion, arts education etc.

    • L says:

Except you forgot she’s robbing the cradle. Sorry but a nearly 23 year old woman stalking and dating a high school junior gives me the creeps.

I don’t deny she does a lot of great and fantastic charity work and even though she overdoes the makeup is still a pretty classy dresser. The reading project sounds great, and her performance at the Stand up to cancer event was touching.

      • hannah says:

I don’t feel stalking is the right term. Is she clingy? Yes,but we don’t hear reports of him not wanting to be involved. If my boyfriend and I hang out constantly, I’m not stalking him, unless of course he doesn’t want me there. Also, with the craddle robbing, she is immature, and only 4 years older than him. He may be more mature based on his life experiences too. People say she should be dating the mid to late-twenties kennedys if she must date one, but that would be a bigger age gap. I just think its funny that she gets so much shit for this, he is 18, she is 22, it happens in college everyday. I get he is in highschool, but he is still 18.

    • Xantha says:

Actually from what I heard in Nashville Taylor does like to get her party on and has friends who are major partiers themselves. She just doesn’t do it where the tabloids can see her.

I like that she does charity work as well, but I just don’t get why she needs to be so aggressive with the ultrawholsome image. She’s an adult, she can legally drink everywhere in the world now. A lot of her fans are young but there are older ones out there as well. Her being photographed drinking will not be the career ender her camp seem to think it is.

As for Conor the problem with him being in high school will come up when she can freely go anywhere she wants and he can’t. She’s gearing to promote her album next month and she can’t just pull him out of school so he can be with her. If he were in college this wouldn’t be as big of a problem because college students have a lot more freedom than high schoolers.

      • aquarius64 says:

If she is the party girl that you say she is, it would be the biggest scoop for a gossip mag since Kristen Stewart’s Mini-Cooper Makeout. Busting Swifty would be huge.

      • Xantha says:

        aquarius64:

That’s true, that’s why I say she doesn’t do it where the tabloids can see her. She’s not going to nightclubs from what I’ve heard, she pretty much does it at her homes. If you do some digging online you can find pictures of her 22nd birthday party. Her friends are wearing “Happy F*king Birthday” hats and this picture was proven to be from said birthday party and those two girls are her friends.

To be honest, there aren’t pictures of her doing shots. But I think that’s because she has told her friends not to take pictures of her. She knows how to control her image very well.

  14. Charlotte says:

She looks like a ‘Real Girl’

  15. Ranunculus says:

Her styling and her heavy make up make her look like a psycho Hick, which she probably is.

  16. Barrett says:

I LOVE RED. But. She wears it constantly. She needs to do a color less expected for her NEXT event. Geez…..

  17. Lee says:

    just right …

  18. erin says:

I’d love to see the pics of the wedding- it sounds just like my daughter’s with the eggplant-wearing attendants and the callas and hydrangeas!

  19. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

So she’s now in a Macy’s ad in addition to doing covergirl the corporate packaging and cash grabbing of this woman/child and her team are stunning; as for her now efforts to promote literacy, how do you know her team didn’t come up with this, few stars rarely do anything on their own volition; Her image and “music” are as fake and contrived as they come, I’m from the old school and prefer zeppellin, hendrix, joplin, the doors, sabbath, etc. to this contrived crap, sure they were druggies who cares their music is played everywhere if you avoid the networks and pop radio, and will be played 50 years from now long after this contrived trick is forgotten – I’ll take Jimmy Page struck out on smack cranking out Sick Again over this; I think because so much of our entertainment is packaged and manufactured many have forgotten what real and authentic even is; It would be interesting to be the fly on the wall and listen to how this squinty eyed screechers’ team calculates out each day for max publicity effect.

  20. I Choose Me says:

Something nice. Great colour and her make-up looks fantastic here, she really has beautiful skin. BUT I think her blonde hair would look better in a warmer shade. That frosted blonde look just makes me ugh! Much like everything else about Shifty Swifty.

  21. Gaby says:

What is up with her hair? Is that a wig? It has to be, it looks like Barbie’s hair, faker every time I see it.

  22. Hm says:

Agree on the hair. ’70s mannequin wig. I like the comments pointing out the good things she promotes, tho. I don’t mind young girls having a more wholesome role model (regardless of what TS does in her private life).

  23. Abby says:

I’m over the parade of red dresses. We get it. Your album is called Red. Shake it up a little bit. And throw away that lipstick.

  24. kosmos says:

I like Taylor, but I’m getting slightly tired of the red, red lips for some reason. Looks like she had to wear red for this occasion being the I-Heart thing, but it’s not her best color…as far as the Kennedy thing, I think she’s fine with it by now, and anyway, she knows that wherever she goes that there will be publicity that goes with her. Once a celebrity, there IS no more privacy. She seems to handle it well and doesn’t appear to have too much angst or rebelliousness, nothing like Kristen Stewart handles her life.

  25. Jes says:

I just don’t know with Taylor – I am definitely suspicious of her cutesy, good girl act. I wish she would quit the red lipstick and the bangs – they age her so much, and they don’t flatter her at all. I’m 23 years old and she looks twice the age of myself and others my age.

Haha, I wonder if this video will be shown in Connor’s classroom?
