Brad Pitt Defends Unfortunate Mustache, Says Clooney Is Copying

Whether or not Brad Pitt is ever appealing is constantly up for debate on these threads. My opinion is that Brad is a good-looking guy who seems like he needs a really great nap. Attractive, but the styling is everything with Brad. My favorite Brad is some version of his classic red-carpet look – good suit, decent haircut and a shaved face.

Brad’s had to go through the last couple of months of press junkets with what can only be described as an unfortunate mustache. He grew the dreaded ‘stache for the movie he’s filming with Quentin Tarantino, Inglorious Bastards. Tired of criticism, Brad defended the look in a recent comment to People Magazine, and managed to throw an elbow at his frenemy/best bud/soulmate George Clooney.

[Brad Pitt] proudly brushes off any criticism, telling PEOPLE “It’s fashion. Who am I without creative facial hair?”

After hearing about the naysayers, he adds, “I consider it very brave.”

In truth, the ‘stache is for his role in the Quentin Tarantino movie he’s filming, Inglorious Bastards.

After learning that his pal George Clooney is also sporting facial hair, Pitt quips, “I cannot get this guy out of my slipstream. He calls me up and wants to know what I’m wearing – and then he shows up in the same thing. Next thing you know he’s going to have six kids. Just got to tell you it’s getting really old.”

[From People]

Haha, Brad. I can totally imagine Brad and George gossiping on the phone about what they’re going to wear, but George with six kids? Or should I say, George with six kids from how many different women?

But Brad has a point. Sometimes I do think Clooney’s a little jealous of Brad. Or maybe I’m reading too much into their sometimes homoerotic media tangles.

    Jealousy shmelousy.

    (1) Clooney’s tache is for ‘Goats’ and he’s been rocking it for much longer than Pitt. If anyone’s copying anyone, it’s Pitt following in Clooney’s tache…er…footsteps.
    (2) Tache aside, Clooney is MUCH more attractive than Pitt, always has been, and has far more going for himself as an actor than Pitt.

I like Pitt fine in a lot of roles but just can’t summon up much interest in him outside of acting or AJ. I just don’t see him as the prize so many other people seem to see him as. Decent bloke, good dad, well-meaning but that’s it.

I don’t know why you’re in mod, G… but couldn’t agree with you more. Clooney is far superior to Pitt in all ways – with the exception of the most kids in Hollywood award. Pitt wins that one hands down.

  3. SeVen says:

I think its adorable. Me and my BFF do that, pick play fights with each other in public / facebook, it keeps us interesting.

  4. Kim says:

No one, least of all Clooney can be bamboozled into having six kids by a manipulative woman. Only p*ssy whipped Pitt can end up like that. If he had not been manipulated, he probably would have ended up with 3 or 4. But six in two years or so is ridiculous even by his standards.

Clooney does not look as repulsive with the tashe as Brad. Then again, it could be because Brad had become repulsive in many ways in the last few years. If I had not been turned off already, his latest admission of adultery/infidelity would have done it.

I have a friend who always defends him. But after that RS interview, she has had to rethink her admiration for him and Angelina. I couldn’t help but rub my hands with glee. I always told her he is a pathetic loser not worth her admiration. Now she agrees. 4 years late.

Kaiser, I didn’t know that you are now a writer for the site. Congs. Just don’t make Brangelina writeups syrapy. 😉

I think he’s hot, always have. There is something about him now as a father and a damn devoted one at that, that makes him smolder… But he can ditch that catapilla on his lip anytime, that one is best left to George!

  6. vdantev says:

He looks like John Wilkes Booth.

  7. BLA says:

This reminds me of poor Javier Barden and his romance-killing bowl cut for No Country for Old Men. Brad Pitt is way better off in this situation, though time will tell if he can trade bad hair for an Oscar as well.

  8. nycmom100.. says:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I still find him sexy, tickler & all.

  9. bros says:

i dont think clooney wins the stach-off. while brads actually matches his tux, in that he looks a little old-school hollywood glamour carey grant-esque, george looks like he ought to be wearing a plaid shirt and chopping wood. that is not a well-managed follicular situation he has there.

Get a load of this version of Brad Pitt I re-stumbled on the other day, LOL:

  11. Frenchie says:

The stache makes Clooney look older while Pitt just looks retro

  12. Heidi says:

Kim give it a rest! Oh & I dont find either attractive especially Clooney.

  13. NotBlonde says:

Both mustaches are hideous. But I like their goofy relationship with one another; constantly messing around and play-fighting. They are like little boys.

  14. Kristen says:

I love it when they joke around like that. They are both GORGEOUS!

  15. Kink says:

LOL, sorry Clooney isn’t even in the same ball park as Pitt in hotness.

  16. Kaiser says:

Bros, Brad’s ‘stache does have a hint of old-school actors like whats-his face… Errol Flynn. But I still like him better clean-cut.

Geronimo – Can’t we just agree that they’re both hot in different ways? I think Brad’s very attractive when he’s with his kids… that’s a hotness Clooney will probably never know.

  17. geronimo says:

Kaiser – I’ve just never ever found him attractive. That’s all. I can’t pretend otherwise. But ‘hot’ in the sense of being a decent guy and a great dad, no problemo! Happy to go with that.

I like flawed men, Clooney’s flawed. He also makes me laugh. I’m anybody’s if they make me laugh. I think that’s the difference. Pitt doesn’t make me laugh.

@disappointed – I’m sure CB is weeping into her keyboard at your departure. (Kaiser: they’re just ZOMG JELLUS.)

  18. Kaiser says:

Oh, “disappointed”, I wonder what else you go by?

G, different strokes! For me, Clooney’s the one night stand and Brad’s the husband/father type.

    Edit: Totally ZOMG JELLUS! 😆

  19. MJ says:

No, Brad, only you’re stupid enough to have six kids.

  20. dr.grrl says:

to me, clooney will always be that feathered hair dude on the facts of life!! not sexy… and he’s a lovely person i am sure, but a bit of a cad.

pitt on the other hand, was a hot piece of meat in thelma & louise! he has grown up into a handsome man, and will one day be a silver fox (like sean connery). i think he’s awesome for all of his charitable work in N.O. and globally.

that is one area that clooney needs to step up and emulate!

  21. Venus says:

    They look like idiots!!

  22. geronimo says:

@dr.grrl – can’t let that pass!! Clooney has been stepping up to the mark on the advocate front for years, and before Pitt ever got involved in social causes!

Clooney’s involvement with Darfur (and now the Congo), Not on our Watch and continued fundraising efforts (recently in London, £10M in one evening) are hugely admirable. He’s dodgy and on the caddish side, I’ll be the first to acknowledge that, but he’s a very decent, generous, stand up, committed guy when it comes to social causes. He’s also recieved prestigious international awards for his work. (Personally, I think George and AJ had a lot to do with Pitt getting involved in charitable work.)

  23. dr.grrl says:

thanks geronimo!! much obliged for keeping me up to date with clooney’s charity… i had forgotten about that!

(you take the good, you take the bad, that’s the facts of life! the facts of life….when the world never seems, to living up to your dreams…)

here in the states all they seem to focus on with clooney is who he dates!

  24. jennifurrr says:

i dig both of ’em! and i really enjoyed brad’s rs interview – especially the part where he said he was in character as chad from burn after reading and aj told him it’s the first time she’s never been attracted to him… hilarious!!!

i could and have watched them in movies forever and would/ have enjoyed them all!!

  25. Codzilla says:

Clooney by a country mile. Brad has always been a little too “pretty” for my tastes, especially with all the hair dye/highlights. Remember when he and Gwyneth had identical ‘dos? Barf.

  26. debra77 says:

I love Brad and George. I think they are both very attractive men. With that said. I am so tired of people commenting on how many children they have. It is their business. They are not asking you to help take care of them Angie had two kids when she and Brad go together. She has been pregnant 2 times. and 1 other adoption together. The Hansen brothers have just as many. and Angie has been pregnant now more then Julia, Jenn G, Gwen S, Gweeny P, Catherin Z/J. Brad said he wanted a big family, and wanted then early enough to enjoy watching them grow. Love Brad more now that he is a DAD and a hands on Dad. So sexy, So hot. I’m sure when he filming is over he will change hair and cut the stash. But I still find him very sexy.. Georgie too.

  27. Sarah says:

Now they both look totally stupid!! LOL!!

ETA: Venus… sorry, great minds think alike! Didn’t mean to copy you!

As for the overall discussion Brad vs George… GEORGE!!! By Far!! 😀

  28. lori says:

oh, they’re both cuties; difference is Brad will be in bed with one woman and six kids at home, while George is in bed with seven ‘make us stars!’ girls; to each his own.

  29. Give me a break! says:

George Clooney will never have children. In a statement George did Sponge Bob voice for Maddox but also add how children is not for him. Unless something major happens in his life. Fatherhood don’t have to complete him.
