Amy Winehouse was looking healthier and somewhat happier when she was photographed bathing topless in St Lucia in the Caribbean. News of the World has the photos, and some people are wondering if she’s pregnant as her stomach looks curiously distended for such a skinny woman. It is most likely due to alcohol, drug use or malnutrition, but it’s also remotely possible she’s pregnant. If that’s the case she of course needs to clean up and it might explain why she was in the hospital for a while. Liver problems can also cause a bloated-looking stomach like that and Amy has had that tiny tummy for a while. E! Online has a front view of Amy that day, and her stomach looks a lot more natural in that picture.
She has great boobs and I’m kind of surprised her breasts aren’t kind of flat or saggy like you would expect. Winehouse was rumored to have had a boob job earlier this year, but it’s hard to tell if that’s true.
Do you think she’s pregnant? It’s probably just some bloating because you just don’t want to think about Winehouse with child. Can you imagine? It also seems kind of cruel to call her pregnant when she’s just gained some essential weight and still looks underweight.

I would chalk the “suspicious belly” up to cirrhosis, malnutrition and kidney failure WAY before pregnancy.

I doubt that she’s pregnant, might be coke bloat or she’s malnourished. I hear she has bulimia or something, or has had it since she got on all those drugs. Anyway, if she’s off the stuff it might be just natural weight gain coupled with drinking…

It’s certainly malnutrition and drinking. Or it certainly seems that way if you have been following Amy’s tabloid persona for the past two years. I do not think she got a boob job though. Many people don’t understand the power of a good push-up bra. You can push some B babies up real high, pad the bottom, and voila.

I second the push up bra statement. Usually women who have had boob jobs have a lot of cleavage on TOP without a bra. As for the bloated tummy, I don’t really know what it looks like. She looks really beautiful though and seems like she has rather a glow. Just sayin’.

OT: I agree with the person who said it’s most likely malnutrition, cirrhosis, etc etc. Although stranger things have happened – no one thought Nicole Ritchie could get pregnant. Then again her issue was the weight, not the drugs (or not nearly as much, anyway) but still, you see what I’m saying. But yeah, it’s no doubt just health issues. One more issue in the massive pile of health issues this only 25 years old woman has. Sad, sad sad.

I think she is just apple-shaped. Every time I see my sister in law I want to congratulate her on pregnancy, and she is a fitness instructor and a size 0-2 model. Then I remember that she is apple-shaped and retains it all in midsection. This may be the case with Amy as well. She has this distinct boxiness to her torso.

Actually, the distended stomach you see on Ethiopian children is a condition called kwashiorkor, which is caused by insufficient protein and vitamin B complex absorbtion.
It’s not specifically linked to anorexia or lack of muscle tone. However, it has similar symptoms to fatty liver, which is what you would expect an alcoholic/junkie to have. Also, alcoholics tend to have badly damaged intestines which causes inflammation.
