Michael Fassbender & Mark Wahlberg got drunk & only Fassy could maintain

Unfortunately for the Fassloonies, the headlines yesterday were not about our love, Michael Fassbender. Fassy appeared on Friday night’s Graham Norton Show, only no one was talking about his appearance. Everybody was too busy talking about Mark Wahlberg and to a lesser degree, Sarah Silverman. All three (plus singer Laura Mvula) were featured on Norton’s Friday show, and Twitter exploded in the UK during and after the show. It was all about how Mark seemed extra-friendly with Sarah Silverman, and how he also seemed like he was drunk or high (or both). I’m including the whole episode (it’s split into three parts):

I agree that Mark acted like he was drunk or high or something. I think he pretty much admits that when he comes out too, that Norton’s green room is basically an open bar in which guests are encouraged to drink heavily. It wouldn’t be the first talk show where guests are kept toasty. I’ll also admit that Mark was kind of funny and he made me laugh several times. Yes, he was rude at a few points (especially when poor Fassy was trying to tell a James McAvoy story), but he was also so rude that it was kind of hilarious. And this is honest the God the most I’ve ever liked Sarah Silverman. She was really cracking me up here, and she rarely makes me laugh.

I don’t even think Fassy had anything to promote, right? He wasn’t there pushing any particular project or film or anything. I think he just came to hang out. And yes, he was totally making eyes at Laura Mvula. I wanted to yell at her and tell her to keep her hands off my man, but it’s not her fault. Bless his Irish heart, Fassbender just has such a thing for beautiful black women. He looked like he could eat her up. *sigh*

Sarah was adorable when she laughed. Fassy is hot and charming as his usual self

  2. Elceibeno says:

Have there been any sighting of Fassie Ness monster? I ‘d love to see it.

  3. Ms Kay says:

Yeah watched the show. Marky Mark was totally drunk and rude at times interrupting Fassbender it was a tad annoying. And the flirt with Sarah (who got me thinking WTH was she wearing?), his wife must be fuming somewhere eh…

Miss Mvula is beautiful, she rocks the bald look damn!

    • MarkySkitmarks says:

Rude? He mumbled under his breath that Fassy probably landed on James McAvoy’s dick after Michael tried to tell his golf cart story.

  4. Po says:

    Fassy was too cute.

  5. i'm french don't kill me says:

Wahlberg was drunk (i believe he admittted it) and he never was known to be cool in interview
    Fassbender was drunk and fun

    Sarah S ‘s outfits were ….short (i’m nice today)

  6. Jamie says:

Absolutely agree with you Kaiser on Sarah Silverman. She was actually coming off funny, and nice…

  7. cmc says:

Kaiser, you should totally update us next time Fassy hits NYC. He loves black women? I’m ALL OVER that!!

  8. MrsBPitt says:

I think I actually like drunk Mark Wahlberg better than sober Mark Wahlberg…

    • vv says:

Ditto and I actually thought he was pretty funny here…even when he tossed that poor nurse like three times hahahaha

  9. Hannah says:

It turns out Mark is an obnoxious drunk…

  10. Tish says:

Why does Fassy look old? I mean, are we sure he is 35?

    • Migdalia says:

I love Fassbender more than Kaiser ever could ;-p

But yes that’s what drinking and especially smoking for years will do to you….age your face beyond your years.

    • FassDaActor says:

He’s had wrinkles since his 20s. The cigs didn’t help. I still think he’s beautiful from the inside out. He has a boyish disposition. I really wish he would stop smoking.

  11. Toot says:

Mark was annoying, but funny at times.

  12. maria says:

I thought Mark was a dick.

How many penis jokes can one man get? Shame was such a well done movie and that his performance is reduced to a walking dick joke, it irks me.

Fassy (as always) was charming as ever. He actually spoke about his movie Frank but it was cut out.

    • Migdalia says:

I still have yet to see the interview but interrupting a James McAvoy story?! Come on Wahlberg don’t do that to me now…and why would the only project Michael has to promote be cut out. Booo!

    • ANGELIC 20 says:

plus 1, nothing more to add.

    • FassDaActor says:

Not only was Marky Mark jealous of Fass but he’s still upset that MF turned down a role in his new movie. The challenge to a big d*ck contest was cringe worthy. It wasn’t just the alcohol. People can joke about the nudity all they want but it doesn’t take away from his talent. They try to bring Fassy down but it says more about them.

The only part of the show where Mark was right on was when he let the girl have it in the red chair because she wore makeup to the gym.

  13. Stacie says:

Fassbender was Fabulous on the show . He looked so good . Love him ! Wahlberg was a complete Ass . It was embarrassing, to watch him . I was so Happy to see Fassy and Sarah being the ones with some self control.

  14. Talie says:

Mark leads a pretty buttoned-up life now with his wife, and it involves church and all that. So, when he lets loose these days, it must really affect him.

  15. mia girl says:

I love watching Norton bc the format always makes the whole celebrity interview thing more interesting.

I’ve seen Wahlberg on the program before and he was similar, but less drunk. He likes to be the center of attention that’s for sure…
Either way they all played well off each other (sometimes the three on the couch have no chemistry / are uptight) The whole episode was really entertaining.

As soon as Fassy mentioned James McAvoy I swooned at the thought of the two of them. Sigh…

PS McAvoy is always great on Norton’s show.

    • Jayna says:

Fun interview. It is hard to have three on there gel and be fun and so worked. Mark is usually so tightly-wound or no huor, so at least looser.

I am a huge James McAvoy fan, too. Nice to see the love for him by someone else on here.

  16. Ms Kay says:

Update : Ladies, I’m attending the BAFTAs tonight and it seems like Fassbender is attending the ceremony as well, at least according to my boss email right here, she also adds Hiddleston and Tom Cruise are attending!?.. *flailing*

Gotta go grab my borrowed dress for the event in an hour woohoo!!! *love my job*

    • flor says:

Good luck, Ms Kay!! Hope you can take lots of pictures and talk to them!

    • j.eyre says:

Just so we are straight – you have to lay an intentional hand on him in order to gag me. Not a fake trip “oh, excuse me Tom. I tripped over my incredibly well sculpted legs and needed to use your chest as support so as not to mar my beautiful face on a chair” hand.

Have a blast tonight. Good luck. Can’t wait to hear everything.

    • Miss M says:

Thanks for the update, Ms KayDoo. Have fun there! As a birthday gift (my birthday was 2 days ago), can you please give us a super detailed description of what happens there with Michael or Tom, thanks!

I may read only tomorrow as I am leaving to the airport in a few minutes.

      • j.eyre says:

Happy Birthday Agent MOL! Are you off to somewhere fun?

If Tom were my husband, I would have sent him over as a gift for your birthday but Kay-Doo is stingy that way.

    • lady mary. says:

good luck ,Ms Kay ,have a blast ,and do share some of ur juicy celeb tidbits ,

    • mia girl says:

Good luck Ms Kay, you already lucky beech 😉

Please accost Hugh Jackman on my behalf. Do not be afraid to touch or slip him the tounge. That is all.

    • FassDaActor says:

I’m so jealous. Get some pictures.

    • EscapedConvent says:

Ms Kay-Doo! The BAFTAs! You lucky duck! Fassy & Hiddles in one room! Does anyone else think that Hiddles, in some pictures, looks like he could be Fassy’s little brother? There’s a resemblance somehow.

This should be a great night & I hope you have a fabulous time. This time, plant a big kiss on Hiddles’ sweet face so he will follow you around the rest of the night & you can tell us everything. 😉

    • Ms Kay says:

      UPDATE Y’ALL :

AnnE won! Her dress is meh but I leave it to Kaiser tomorrow.

      Christoph Waltz won!

      Skyfall won!

Bumped into a lovely Thandie Newton and we had a good laugh!

Sally Field is my new mama, because she heard me say mama a bazillion times and turned around and said “yes mama!” I didn’t realize it was her in front of me 😀

Gotta go back to the press room now! *wave*

P.S: no sight of Fassbender :-/ but Hiddleston is here wearing the same blimmin’ outfit!

    • Izzy says:

Kay, give Hiddles a big smacking kiss from all his CB fans!

Also, don’t let the Unhinged-Lift-Wearing-Tiny-Tom suck you into $cientology. Just a warning. Because we care about our CB friends…

    • mia girl says:

      Ms Kay
You are truly are the best “mama” for giving us updates from the event. Keep em coming!

    • j.eyre says:

Same outfit as who – you? That must be embarrassing.

    • Ms Kay says:

      UPDATE 2 :

Argo for best film, Riva for best actress and DDL for best actor.

@ j.eyre haha no dear I meant to say same outfit Hiddleston wore at the BIFA methinks, same old same old… His publicist was around too I saw his head popping behind him! Later he posed with Saoirse Ronan, whom I got totally mixed up with Evan Ravhel Wood at first glance! Then he went on chatting up with some of the chaps in the press room, because well he knows some of them from his Avengers promo tour.

Ceremony over a little while ago. Still a bit of a chaos in the press room but all good. And finally I got to see Dame Helen Mirren, everyone was saying “did you see her? She is amazing!” I was uh where how? The woman has pink hair and looks STUNNING!!!!! Kelly Osbourne can now ditch the everlasting lavender look and shave her head out of frustration!

I talked to Juno Temple, she is very nice, and she was like “eeehhhh! I got it you know? *showing her award* Now I can get drunk!” cracked me up to the core the way she was flailing.

Ben Affleck was like 2 people away from me in the press room. Ladies… The man looks good, real good!

Samuel L. Jackson simply waved back as he was on his way to the main room, I was happy like a child!

…and the last tit bit for : GEORGE CLOONEY LIKED MY FRO! I laughed and I told him we met 3 years ago at the BFI and he said the same damn thing, he smiled with a “really? I must keep tracks now!” and we shook hands and he said “bye dear”

… Oh dear my head is spinning too many anecdotes, my luck didnt let me down tonight!

Too funny there are friends texting me they are watching the ceremony only now on TV, talking about a suspense jet lag haha!

Now ladies gotta sneak into the BAFTA party, my boss is a magician for having for got places for some of us.

      Chat tomorrow!

      *wave*

      • lady mary. says:

love celebitchy, thank u for the tidbits Ms Kay,wish i could have met clooney too,i might have ended up doin some embarrasing stuff

      • Miss M says:

@j.eyre: Thank you! I just came back to Boston, I spent my birthday in Brazil with my family, :).
@Ms. KayDoo: thank you for all the details! I used to have a huge crush on Clooney. I am glad he liked your fro! 🙂

  17. j.eyre says:

I enjoy watching a drunk trying to negotiate an interview but Wahlberg was a bit too much. Except for that Red Chair segment – that was a riot.

    I love watching Fassbender.

Graham Norton is my single greatest time suck on the Internet. I get to watching clips from his show after breakfast and next thing I know, my kids are begging for dinner.

  18. dcypher1 says:

He makes me wish I was black *sigh*

    • FassDaActor says:

Be happy to be what ever you are. I’m black but it just means that I can have more vivid dreams of this talented, sensual sex god. I’m in love with Seal too. When he was with Heidi, I never wanted to be anything other than black. I thought they were a loving couple until all that mess happened.

      • dcypher1 says:

I was joking im just saying hes got a thing for dark ladies. I wouldnt be his type it makes me sad oh well I can get a long tan it might help.

  19. Lucretia says:

Why do you say Fassbender was drunk? He seemed fine, and showed considerable restraint in the face of numerous provocations.

  20. TrustMeOnThis says:

I could eat her up! She’s gorgeous!

  21. Layna says:

Sara is annoying and tries too hard to be “hot” by dressing like a teenager, Mark was rude and seemed intimidated by Michael. Graham didn’t seem amused by his antics either. Michael was polite and calm.

  22. Ailine says:

I liked and enjoyed everyone. What a fun line up that was!

  23. ernie says:

The GN show is the ultimate gossip entertainment for me. I love it because he makes his celebrity guests feel comfortable and all the more enjoyable to observe. Plus he pairs them up so randomly we wonder how that’s going to work from the go. They usually all relax, have a drink and we get little things on them we would never with the generic north american entertainment format designed to portray the stars in a very calculated manner. And in turn, Graham makes them look good and fun. He’s an excellent host.

I loved this episode. Graham handled that grope session hilariously. Marky Mark was drunk-coddled by the group throughout the show. Very entertaining.

    • Migdalia says:

I have to say I do enjoy TGNS even though I only watch it when Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Kevin McKidd and Michael Fassbender is on. I think it’s the best celebrity interview show.

    • Flo says:

Completely agree. The Graham Norton Show is such a great, fun show. Graham is actually funny (not often the case with tv hosts) and most of the time, as you say, the random pairings of guests work.
My favourite episode was the one with Adele, Jack Whitehall and Miranda Hart. So much fun but also guests who respect and admire each other.
But this time, it didn’t work at all imo.
I think it was probably my least favourite episode of TGNS. I don’t care about Wahlberg nor Sarah Silvermann. I was only waching for Fassy and everytime he tried to talk and say something intelligent, he got cut out. Ugh.
Also, enought with the penis jokes already. Fassy was actually going to say something interesting about it and then, again, got cut out.

      • ernie says:

I can see why Fassbender fans were annoyed. He didn’t get much attention with Marky’s antics. I guess it didn’t bother me that much ’cause Fassy was not my priority.

      • Zvonk says:

The Will.i.Am, Mirriam Margolyes episode was hilarious.

  24. EscapedConvent says:

Hmmmm…..I wish Fassy had not had to sit so close to Sarah Silverman, `cause she has cooties.

    But Fassy is scrumptious.

  25. Ally8 says:

Mark Wahlberg’s problem is that he imagines he is a much bigger star than he actually is. He’s basically the American Jason Statham, yet he gets into a big sulk when people don’t find his blockhead presence endlessly fascinating.

Graham Norton shouldn’t have been feeding into his delusion by giving him the top seat on the couch. Of the two, Fassbender is clearly the bigger phenomenon in casting (and many ladies’ mental casting couch) right now.

  26. Victoria says:

    meh…

  27. Bijlee says:

So i have a new artist on my radar. Thank you graham norton she was great! Also walhberg is a smug loser. Really hate the douche.

  28. Ailine says:

I watched the whole thing. Mark was that annoying drunk guy but he was so entertaining I don’t care. I wish our talk shows were that entertaining!

  29. Dani says:

Fassbender wasn’t drunk, he was a gentleman. Mark was funny at times but it was clear he was jealous of Michael.

Why is no one talking about Michael and Cameron Diaz snogging at the Soho Hotel bar after the show? She was there alone and talked with some fans while waiting for him…

    • nola4life says:

I saw those capped Tweets on another board too about the Fassbender and Diaz making out! Kaiser, you MUST get the 411 on this!

    • Addison says:

Cameron Diaz, I do like her in spite of rumors about her. I don’t think they go well together though. I agree with some who have said Michael was Not drunk. I don’t know where someone would see that. He seemed there most composed of the three. Yes, Mark wants to be the center of attention.

Like others have mentioned Shame was over a year ago so mention of his body parts is innapropiate. Must people be told to grow up. I’m pretty sure Michael was the youngest guest not counting the singer at the end.

Michael was awesome as always. (He looked so cute too). 🙂 Too bad the interview was not better. Nothing new was learned on this show.

  30. Samantha says:

Having been a regular watcher of the GH Show for quite some time,I have to say that this particular episode is simply the funniest of them all.I’ve always liked Mark and thought he was flippin’ hilarious with his intoxicated antics ‘n all however I’m also a fan of Fassy and there were moments when I thought that the former should STFU for a little while so that just may be we could hear a bit more from the guest that was seated on the right without interruption which obviously, proved not to be the case. All in all, great show and I hope that Graham invites Fassy back sometime in the future so that he can get the airtime that he rightfully deserves!

  31. Bookworm mommy says:

I enjoyed drunk Mark! He’s hot!!! Sarah was funny, I like her! & :::swoon::: to the fassdong, that was a great way to start the day!!! Also, loved the singer, forgot her first name, mvula, I’m going to have to DL that album

  32. Mr.Smurf says:

Oh yeah, the Fassdong was definitely making eyes at her. Notice that the minute she sat down next to him, he was turned and leaning toward her for the majority of the time.

She’s hot. I had my head shaved for about a year, and I have a relative who keeps her head bald (and actually looks like an older version of Laura), but I don’t think I pulled it off as well as she can.

  33. LadyBird83 says:

Usually don’t find the Fass attractive but I’m digging the beard.

  34. Reese says:

Ok honestly? Mark cracked me up pretty much the whole time lol. He was such a dumbass I couldn’t help but laugh (except when he kept interrupting Fassbender and Silverman. Kinda annoying) so I found him pretty entertaining. I agreee that I have no freaking idea why Michael was there, but I was totally happy to see him. Sarah was (surprisingly) funny and handled Mark pretty well. And WOW did that girl Laura have a good voice. Never heard of her but I’m glad I have now. Although I gotta say I have no idea what people saw to say that Michael was making eyes at her. He has dated some beauties, but it’s not like he falls over every single one that walks in the room. He seemed gracious and interested in what she had to say, like he did Silverman and, to a lesser point probably lol, Mark. Although if I were stuck between Sarah and her I would probably scoot a little closer to Laura lol

    • Me says:

I think if anyone was making eyes at Laura it was Sarah. I was like damn why is she looking at her like she’s in love?

  35. Susi says:

Oh my god. I had never seen Fassy interviewed before. I had no idea he had that gorgeous, adorable, cheeky grin and the sparkly eyes!! I always thought he was hot and extremely talented but now I understand why you all love him so much. He is GORGEOUS!!

Oh, and I think that Marky Mark was making Sarah slightly uncomfortable as she edged away from him towards Fassy a few times. I reckon when she played up that “affectionate lover” thing with him, she was just taking a creepy situation and making it humourous so that she could then save face and pull away without it being awkward.

  36. Mrs. Darcy says:

Susi I agree, Sarah was flirting with him as a defense mechanism because she sensed he could turn nasty. It’s funny because I just read her book and she writes about drunkenness and how alcohol is a less is more situation for her. I think maybe Mark doesn’t get much attention at home with all his rugrats running around kicking people in the balls, I almost felt sorry for him as he did come across as such a deperate for attention little man. Fassbender is the coolest cucumber (erm so to speak! ;), loved his whole demeanor.

  37. Christina says:

Marky Mark is more fun when he is drunk, but it was obvious he is jels of Fassy. Let’s face it, Fassy is better in every way than Mark. Better looking, better actor, and he did not need a prosthetic penis for his movie!! I am a die hard Donnie Wahlberg fan, but Mark is way overrated. I like plenty of his movies and I think he is better at comedies , but he is no comparison to Fassy. Fassy and Donnie are buddies, from when they did Band Of Brothers.
