Alright…here we go again. Brandi is NOT a single mother of two. She is a divorced mother of two who gets child support. Her children also see their father on a regular basis. Again, not a single mother doing it all on her own but rather a divorce mother who with the help of her ex husband is raising two boys. End of story.

A divorced mother is a single mother. She would file as a single individual on her taxes, not married. Since when did “single mother” come to mean that they father completely disappeared?
Not all divorced fathers participate at the same level. Not all single mothers have the same challenges in their arrangements. I think you are trying take the word “single” and make it mean far more than it does.
Single parent used to mean doing it alone.
That definition is shifting for some reason coparents are now all claiming to be single parents.
A relationship status and a parenting status are two different things. IMO, if you are parenting alone you are a single parent. If your child has another participating parent than you are a divoreced parent or a co parent.
Your sexual relationship status has not to do with your parenting title.
I completely disagree. One “single” mom gets financial support and the opportunity to drop the kids off on the holidays or weekends and say “Here. These little monsters are your responsibility too”. The other type of single mom has to make ends meet because no one else will help. And even the married moms will sometimes be saddled with a do-nothing spouse. But don’t think all single moms are equal. It’s HUGELY insulting to the ones who are truly getting jack sh-t nothing.

Aw finally a forum to discuss Brandi’s book.
Initially I had decided to not to read it because I generally don’t enjoy memoirs unless its someone I truly desire to be when I grow up, like a Supreme Court Justice. But on Friday night my husband had just come off a 12 hour shift (read:passed out) and I had an Itunes gift card burning a whole in my pocket. So I went for it on ibooks AND… it was fantastic!
I agree wholeheartedly with the review there were points where i was laughing along and others where I was wiping my tears from feeling her sadness of the life she thought she was living ending. Understanding the story of her life really brought forth her outgoing persona and inability to keep her mouth shut when needed, she just wasn’t raised like that! Surprisingly I didn’t think she was all the harsh on SueAnn, her focus seemed to be primarily on Cruddie and the demise of their relationship. Sue seemed like an afterthought and most of all it made their joint statement about the book look ridiculous, there was nothing in there that nobody who had been following this saga didn’t already know.
I do wish that it had been in chronological order, it jumped around a lot but it gave credence to how divorce really goes, its a long trail to the end and even longer til your healed. it was so good that I am thinking of buying a copy for a friend who is goign through a divorce, she flies a lot and could use an airplane book.
I haven’t been this invested in a RHW since the original cast of the OC but I really hope that she is able to foray this into bigger and better things for herself! Sounds like she has some strong woman to lean on who are helping her see that and pushing her in the right direction.
I finished Brandi’s book in one sitting. I laughed out loud. I felt her pain. I can’t wait for the movie. Who do you gals think can play the three leads? SJP for Falcor is a start. Lol!

Seriously devoured Brandi’s book, probably read it in 4 hours. It’s nice to read the whole story rather than the blurbs she was lettin out. It was really good despite the fact it’s not my typical genre of literature. She has been really quiet though lately…
I’ve always thought Madonna and Cameron looked better as brunettes. What surprises me is that Jessica Simpson does, too, in my opinion. Brooklyn, as well. Sarah Jessica has looked awful since she went darker, again, in my opinion.
Brandi’s friend said, “I made Brandi promise me this week that once her book tour is over she will never say her name again. At some point you need to move on. There’s children involved, so hopefully she can keep her word.” I personally am sad that it took a friend’s involvement to help her come to that realization. For the sake of the kids, even if Lee Ann is a real psycho, then it seems that tweaking her publicly only makes it worse for the kids in my opinion. Maybe if Brandi just settles back and waits a bit that marriage will crumble. And, yes, I know I’m about to be ball-busted by stating this opinion.
Swifty really doesn’t understand that a concert that didn’t happen at all isn’t refundable? Maybe it’s how the contract is worded, but I can’t see taking money for not performing unless the money she took was based on straight fee rather than sales. The more she shows her pettiness in matters other than romance-related crises, maybe the public will stop kissing her virginal-acting skinny butt.
RE: Swifty, I don’t get it either. Why should she get paid at all for not showing? I don’t know how the contract was worded either, but I know I don’t get paid for nothing. I think she should refund everything. She didn’t show. Period.
Many times there is a non-appearance contract that is signed for concerts. They have certain fees they are owed for just scheduling the show, because many times they still have to make deposits on their equipment, etc.
I am pretty certain that Taylor would have this contract in place, because if she is going to clear her schedule and put resources towards this show, she is going to want compensation if it doesn’t happen.

Okay, I’m glad I’m not the only one! She looks fresher as a blonde. It may just be a dye job. The ombre hair can turn into I-haven’t-dyed-my-hair-in-5-years look. This is the case of that. Maybe a more vibrant brunette and a hot oil treatment. It looks awful to me.
Oh, I hate hate hate to have to defend Swifty, but it looks like there’s more to the story than just this–that the ticket-master was kind of shady and the concert was called off because he didn’t want to pay governmental fees to have it, that the promoter is the one that should be sued instead (not sure why) and some claims that Swifty already gave back the money.
I don’t like her, but it’s kind of looking like the facts aren’t all in about this yet, so I’ll just have to go back to hating her for the Grammy idiocy for now. And her music. And her skinny white arms flying in the air at the Grammy concert like she’s a fangirl out of control.
You are correct, she probably had Event Cancellation and Non-Appearance insurance and other contracts for the event. There is a lot more to the story.

I have to agree. There’s absolutely nothing striking about her for my taste, very ordinary, too ordinary for the amount of attention she gets. Her face is ugly, she has awful angles – just look at any photoset of her sitting at courtside when her husband used to play. This is literally a woman who’s made a name for herself because of her giant boobs.
