These are photos of the NYC premiere of The Place Beyond the Pines, and Eva Mendes could have made an impressive turn (this is her “big star” moment, right?) in some serious fashion. Instead, she chose this long-sleeved, orange Prada dress that follows the recent orange trend, but the look as a whole is kind of awful. It doesn’t make much sense as a red-carpet ensemble for a leading lady — there’s soo much fussiness with the sheer fabric, frou-frou bodice, and holy crap, the encrusted butterfuly nonsense going on at the waist. Those shoes are really ugly too.

Overall, this is an underwhelming dress although her hair and makeup look fine. There’s no real drama here, and Eva is fully capable of bringing the drama in more ways than one. I’m not anti-Eva like many of you. She seems pretty harmless as a Hollywood player even if I can’t stomach the fact that she uses a shock collar on her dog, and she has no fashion sense of which to speak.

Ryan Gosling wore a black velvet suit that gives me the heebie jeebies. I would never be able to date a dude who wore this suit and was serious about it, but I’m not a Gosling die hard devotee. He seems so overrated and kind of full of himself, and I don’t find him physically appealing either. Maybe that’s why Eva doesn’t bother me that much.

I’m including photos of Bradley Cooper (looking like a Muppet serial killer and trying to rock the Brad Pitt World War Z hairdo) as well as Ray Liotta’s amazing Botox forehead and the revolting Terry Richardson … being revolting as usual.
