There have been rumors for some time that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are having marriage problems. Allegations of infidelity, the push and pull of careers and even the requisite “gay” rumors for both have all been mentioned. Now that beacon of truth, Star magazine, is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker is moving out of their shared home, and is actively searching for an apartment.
The beloved Sex and the City superstar has begun house hunting in New York City — solo! In the Jan. 19 issue of Star, we report that while Sarah thought she could make it work with her straying mate, she recently visited a midtown real estate broker to help her find her own place.
“The time has come when she realizes it just isn’t worth it,” a friend of the couple tells Star. “Sarah Jessica is determined to get her own place and bring down the curtain on her marriage.”
Adds another insider: “Sarah’s not stupid. She knows exactly what’s going on. For a while it was easier for her to stay than go through a harsh divorce. They’re essentially living separate lives.”
Now that the holidays are over, the actress is revisiting her exit strategy, which takes into careful consideration the couple’s 6-year-old son, James Wilkie — just about the only thing holding the pair together.
“They spent the holidays with him, pretending to be happy,” says another source. “SJP is a great actress when she has to be!”
I absolutely love that line - “SJP is a great actress when she has to be!” - so, so tabloid. Because it’s Star, I tend not to believe it just as a general principal. But the steady stream of negativity about the Parker-Broderick marriage has been flowing for a while. Could it be that two working actors with a young son are simply going through a rough patch? Or is it something worse? To make matters even more confusing, after the holidays SJP was photographed with a bit of a “holiday belly”, so there’s been a lot of gossip that she’s knocked up again. It’s anyone’s guess at this point.

That black and silver dress looks like something that would have been worn to a prom by the Girl Who Desperately Wanted to Fit In But Just Didn’t Get It in some 80s movie. 20-25 years later, still not a good look.

I’m sorry to be ugly, because I have enjoyed a lot of her work - especially Sex and the City - but I do not think she is attractive at all, and if I were her mate I’d stray too. That’s my run-on sentence and I’m sticking to it!

She should get her kid a hair cut and then pack and slam and leave him to his own devices ,like how is he going to support himself? SJP will be paying alimony sigh.

The hubby has his own assets and should NOT be asking for alimony! He probably made millions a few years ago when he was on Broadway in The Producers for several years. And he continues to get film roles. Just recently he was in And Then She Found Me. So the man is NOT destitute by any stretch of the imagination!

Sarah is not classically beautiful (whatever the hell that means in this plastic world), but she is tremendously gifted & funny. She has worked her ass off since she was a child, and came from a welfare family. I admire her work ethic, and her humility.

Even though I love SATC, I think her marriage is a fake and I think her hubby was good in Ferris Buellers’ Day Off…and since then…he was lucky to nab her. Beauty is bullshit. Eye of the beholder and we all have imperfections. Oops, except goopy Gwyneth, dumb snob. Who isn’t aging well at all and really looks the bitch part.

Everyone knows that this has been a marriage of convenience for YEARS.
SJP would never leave her gay hubbie during her heady days as an “It Girl.”Well, those days are OVER. SATC is sooooooo over. The movie was wretched, and if those greedy old hags even dare to subject us to SATC The Movie Part Deux, I will vomit.

I really feel for SJP she herself was from a devorced family , and i truly believe she wanted to have a , as much as possible normal life for her son ! she has worked very hard , and has come a long way as a self made proffesional actress . I admire her acting talent and would be honered to be and extra in any movie she does , I’am an expiring actor with a long list of small credits and I’am also from a small town in Ohio, I was an extra in Jody Fosters movie Little Man Tate : So if any talent agents or producers see this friendly message , E-Mail me so I might be able to forfill my dream .
