Doesn’t the GOP already only focus on white people? I’m confused.

    • aims says:

      lol!! white and rich.

    • doofus says:

lmao…yeah, that was my take, too.

it cracks me up…all the talk from the GOP and the conservative commentators immediately after the election about how the GOP needs to “re-brand” and change their stance on things…

…and then the news is all about their recent (continued) forays into women’s reproductive health and choices, and a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

I guess they still haven’t realized that people want politics OUT of their bedroom and OUT of their health decisions.

      • lucy2 says:

Exactly – every time they lose a major election, there’s all this talk about reaching out and trying to be more inclusive, but then it goes right back to the same thing.

And for someone who didn’t want to be POTUS, Romney sure kept trying. When I don’t want to do something, I don’t do it.

      • L.S. says:

I agree. Except, I’d like to add that I’d also like Obamacare out of my health decisions, too. I don’t like either side.

      • Isabelle says:

The only thing that may teach them a lesson is to vote them out of state offices in 2014. They’re too thick headed to see why we didn’t vote for them in 2012. They believe its due to Obama ‘bots’ versus a message against them. Voting them out in 2014 will be a clear message to them. Our state elections are just as important as the Presidential election.

    • Ag says:

seriously. it’s a given. it’d be news if they didn’t focus on the white rich (or those whites who aren’t rich, yet feel like “their” country is slipping away due to us women, immigrants, non-white, you name “the other”).

      • TG says:

Yes as Bill O’Reilly and those other idiots said after they lost the election (Ha-ha) “it is no longer a traditional America” or something along those lines. Sounds like thinly veiled racism and misogyny to me.

    • epiphany says:

Sure, unlike all those selfless, altruistic Democrats like the Obamas, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, who never travel in private jets, don’t live in opulent mansions, hang out with poor people while handing out fistfuls of their own money #GETAFREAKINGCLUE

  2. Raquel says:

I’ll take the headline a step further: no one really cares that much when a celeb reproduces.

    • neelyo says:

      Amen to that!

    • Aria says:

It has become the norm now. This isn’t “Old Hollywood” when actresses were frowned upon because of pregnancy and childbirth. Now, people only wish celebs would do their job and just go away.

  3. Aria says:

Personally, I’ve been getting tired of the celebrity baby magazine covers for a long time. I love looking at the pictures of cute babies, but will never go out of my way to buy a magazine just for the fact.

I think others feel the same way because it’s always the same thing in every single baby magazine cover. Celeb talks about how hard/easy/emotionally empowering pregnancy was, how blessed/connected they felt when they gave birth, how hands-on/loving the dad is, and how wonderful/sleepohsowell/precious the baby is. There’s nothing new under the sun.

The whole pregnancy/baby cover thing is getting old and fast.

    • Barhey says:

Haha, you nailed the language completely. I like babies too but there is nothing more boring than a celebrity mom talking about their special newborn.

    • Cece says:

Agree! The worst is when the mags/gossip sites have to say that the perfectly average (or even slightly homely) baby/child is sooo beautiful and perfect and intelligent. (I still am embarrassed for Katie Holmes’ declaration that her obviously immature kid is such a “strong woman.”)

      • Denise says:

Ha ha! I’d forgotten about that. Sounds she was still being scripted by the you-know-whos. I have a daughter a bit older than Suri and I would choke on my own laughter trying to get those words out.

    • Becky1 says:

Yes. I think it’s great that they have a healthy baby and I’m sure they and their family are overjoyed but I doubt that the vast majority of people are that interested. As Aria states, with celeb newborns it’s the same story again and again. Jessica and her boyfriend should enjoy their new baby privately instead of trying to pimp out pics.

  4. Moneypenny says:

I noticed yesterday that by 4pm, Jess’ baby was already bumped from the first page on people.com. Congrats to them, but no, it isn’t really that interesting.

  5. Scarlett says:

JS has been pregnant for what seems like two years. People are over it.

  6. IWantToLiveInNew York says:

Mums out there can North Kardashian really be giggling already?

And that is one pro Kardashian article, really playing up how wonderful and brilliant Kim is!

    • NorthernGirl_20 says:

Umm.. no the baby cannot be giggling already. She isn’t even a month old by now. All the baby does at this point is eat, sleep and poo – oh and cry.. The baby can’t even focus yet.

      • Relli says:

TRUTH. They might coo but thats about it. The first six weeks are so intense you barely have the bandwidth to measure time let alone shower, so ROL story about how she is going stir crazy makes me think NW spends a lot of time with the nannies.

    • Apsutter says:

The giggling story reminds me of when my little nephew was born. That same weekend a family friend had her baby as well and she claimed that a week later that the baby was crawling on its own! A week old baby crawling…right

      • F5 says:

You’re just jealous cause E-Trade later hired that baby and your friends got rich 😉

      • JenD says:

We just had our baby a week ago, and the hubby’s grandmother asked two days after delivery if the baby had said “daddy” yet. She seemed disappointed the baby wasn’t blessed with super speech at birth. Of course, as a new mom, I think my baby is the most beautiful, smartest, and most advanced baby ever, but her super powers haven’t kicked in yet.

    • lucy2 says:

I suspect she’s actually gurgling in fear at her mother’s tarantula eyelashes.

    • Cece says:

No, although babies can look like they’re grinning when they are gassy. But this baby is a bit premature, so I would expect things to be a little delayed for her. But of course, celebs are not allowed to have anything but perfect kids. Mostly it just seems like their kids end up miserable and on drugs — not too many examples of normal, happy celeb kids.

    • Anonny says:

No way. And being a preemie, she needs to reach full term before the milestone clock starts ticking. It’s like having a negative age.

Babies are generally not able to socially engage (which giggling would be a sign of) for a couple of months.

    • MaryO says:

the kardashian infant was a tiny preemie a couple of weeks ago and is already playing the piano??

  7. wonderwoman21 says:

Jessica Simpson isn’t interesting, this isn’t her first baby, and it feels as if she has been pregnant forever. Thus no one cares.

  8. dorothy says:

I think people are just tired of the the whole celebrity baby thing anyway. I really don’t see the big deal over Kardashians spawn.

    • Dawn says:

This +1000. In fact whatever magazine put the Kardashian/West baby on their cover I promise here and now never ever to buy another and I will turn each and every magazine to the back cover while I’m at it. I am so sick of already too rich celebs thinking that their kid is SO SPECIAL media need to pay them huge amounts of money so all us little people can gaze upon them! Enough.

  9. Kim1 says:

People only care about celebs firstborns.Kingston was on OK cover no cover for Zuma.Sean Preston got a People magazine cover no cover for Jayden.Same for Brook Sheilds daughters ,Nicole Richie, etc

  10. Ag says:

those pics of jessica’s baby are super cute. but i’d never buy a magazine to look at them.

  11. Tricia says:

Honestly, I’d much rather see pictures of Jessica’s baby than Kim’s. I don’t get her appeal. At all. Ugh.

But my main reason for commenting is to say OMG! to that picture of Maxwell in sunglasses!!! So cute I want to squeeze her!

    • Tiffany :) says:

I don’t get why celeb baby issues ever sold so well, but I agree. If I was forced to buy one, I would much prefer Jessica to KK.

    • Bbb1975 says:

I was going to comment the same thing. If I get a choice Jessica over Kim everday

      • Itsa Reallyme says:

Same here. I LOVE babies but I honestly wouldn’t lose any sleep if I never saw a picture of North by Northwest. It’s laughable that anyone is offering millions for a picture of a baby. I don’t believe anyone cares to see it that much.

  12. Qwerty says:

Srsly- little maxwell is insanely adorable.

  13. Sunnyjyl says:

Her little girl is gorgeous!!! I’m guessing baby Ace is also. I’d pay, but I am a sucker for babies.

    • Itsa Reallyme says:

But, when they put the pics right on the cover, you don’t have to pay. You can just look while you’re waiting to pay for your groceries. lol

  14. The Original G says:

    Babies are out of style.

  15. Bridget says:

I forgot how unflattering that picture of Jessica was.

I’m not into celebrity baby covers, especially since newborns are inherently boring. They eat, sleep and poop, and the parents talk about how overjoyed they are. Blah. Same as the whole Body After Baby covers… now, if one of them actually had to do all of this with no nannies, nurses, cooks, trainers, or the like, then I would be interested in reading that story.

    • Marigold says:

You left out “cry”. And honestly, the eating and the crying are the only two that will eat your soul when you have only slept 2 hours in a 24 hour period.

  16. anon says:

Now to be honest with facts is hard but the truth is. Jess photos sold with in the limits of everyone else. Check it out. Baby pics don’t and have not sold well in years but its easier to just say no one is interested .. Think how many babies are to be born next and know full well they will receive the same limited interest. The tabloid and blogs saturate everything kardashin wether you want it or not.. Someone’s getting a cut somewhere. Just a little tidbit. If anyone is paying attention is infact that Jessica herself with buying her new house and stepping bak has had every intention if staying a lot more down low. With her family. Her home owns a gym recording studio home theatre etc and extremely private.. That says more then the baby pics and no interest

    • t says:

Jessica’s baby cover didn’t sell within the range of other celebrity baby covers. It didn’t even sell within the range of an average week. People Magazine lost money on it, a whole lot of money if you believe the rumor that they paid for the pictures. http://tinyurl.com/cl9tl6c

Jessica’s cover was dead last. With the exception of Christina Applegate, she wasn’t even a close second place compared to these recent celebrity covers:

      * Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston (baby Tripp) outsold Jessica by 26%

      * John Travolta and Kelly Preston (baby Benjamin) outsold Jessica by 26%

      * Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy (baby Brynn) outsold Jessica by 36.8%

      * Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink (babies Darby and Sullivan) outsold Jessica by 36.8%

*Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman (baby Max) outsold Jessica by 47%

*Jody Sweetin (baby Zoie Herpin) outsold Jessica by 57.8%

*Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney (babies Eden and Savannah) outsold Jessica by 78.9%

*Nicole Richie and Joel Madden (baby Harlow) outsold Jessica by 78.9%
*Even Nicole Richie’s second baby, Sparrow, outsold Jessica by .2%

*Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony (babies Max and Emme) outsold Jessica by 110%

*Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (baby Shiloh) outsold Jessica by 131%

*Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (twins) outsold Jessica by 194%

*Christina Applegate (baby Sadie) outsold Jessica by 2.3%

  17. Jen says:

Not sure why any magazine would pay for photos of celebrity babies, especially since most put their children on social media ad nauseum (including Simpson) and KK puts herself on social media, so who would pay for a magazine when they put stuff out for free.

The Royal baby will have official photos that everyone prints, so that is not an issue

  18. DreamyK says:

Lets hope LiLo doesn’t make the 27 Club this year. She says she’s going to go far away from the spotlight, but I doubt it. She likes having fun, getting comped, calling up the Paps to make a quick $500 or whatever.

    • bettyrose says:

I’m a little scared for her. We’ve joked forever about the 27 club but now it’s staring us in the face. It’s really sad because the late 20s can really be the start of someone’s life. They were for me.

  19. Jayna says:

    Melting at those photos.

  20. CC says:

I was much prettier as a newborn than Jessica’s kid, why would I pay for pictures of her and her kid? She’s irrelevant and the baby isn’t even that attractive, and judging by that, there’s a high possibility her second kid isn’t attractive either.

    • Marigold says:

Pretty as a baby, eh? Real question is-have you always been ugly on the inside?

  21. Psyren says:

I forgot she was even pregnant. She was pregnant for what? Two, three years this time?

  22. anon says:

To say someone is irrelevant means irrelevant in your world and not others. You have to feel bad for many celebrities right now as they pretty much don’t exist in the tabloid world or blogs. It’s all K’s everywhere & true manipulation in the higest form. Good or bad and its kinda sad actually. This will go on for years and years and that is mind boggling.

  23. AuntSassy says:

I think her daughter is adorable

  24. Alexandra says:

That just seems so sad – I wish the media wouldn’t say things like that – if I was Jessica that would make me very depressed!

    • bettyrose says:

If I were Jessica and feeling a tad blue over something in the tabs, I would count my money, admire my shiny hair in the mirror, and then feel good again.

  25. lisa says:

im sure it looks like the first one

and they all kind of look like winston churchill anyway

  26. Anne says:

    Celebrating illegitimate children-

    • Tiffany :) says:

“illegitimate children” is such an old fashioned concept. Kind of shocked that anyone could care about that anymore. As long as a family is loving and supportive, what does it matter what their legal status is?

    • Trillion says:

      People still think/talk like this?

    • bettyrose says:

@ Anne – the term “illegitimate” is a throwback to the time when only fathers could establish “legitimacy” for a child, no matter how loving the mother or how substantial her support system. In this particular case, the mother is filthy stinking rich, a devoted mother by all accounts, and the father is very much in the picture. So, even by the most misogynist of standards, this kid is doing pretty well, but it’s never okay to shame a child (or mother) just because the father isn’t around.

    • Assistantrachel says:

Seriously? You do realize it’s the year 2013, right?

    • wiffie says:

Oh my God hilarious. For a second I thought this post was from the 18th century, but then realized they didn’t have internet.. Illegitimate haha.

Max is pretty cute for a bastard child though, isn’t she, Anne?

  27. Meggin says:

I still find it ridiculous that they make that much money off baby pictures. It’s like yes the kids are cute but come on.. A lot of other non celebrity kids are too! Lol

  28. Sabrine says:

Ace Johnson is not the best name. Already some of the sites are calling him “A-1 Peni*” ….they could have come up with something a lot better than “Ace”

  29. Jessica says:

The only way I would look at new pictures of Jessica’s baby is if she was still with Nick.

Her loser boyfriend is not famous and Jessica is just not that popular and attractive as she was in 2003.

I am looking forward to Will & Kate’s baby and I’m a tad curious about Kim & Kanye’s child as well.
