Busy Phillips finally gave birth to her second daughter on July 2: yay!

Oh, I’m so happy Busy Phillips finally gave birth! She’s looked uncomfortable and “ready to pop” for more than a month. Busy and her husband Marc Silverstein welcomed their second child on Tuesday (July 2). They had another daughter! We don’t know this little girl’s name yet, but Busy’s first daughter is named Birdie Leigh, so I’m guessing it will be something along those lines, don’t you? They won’t drop an “Elizabeth” or “Jennifer” on us.

Busy Philipps is now officially one busy mama.

The Cougar Town star, 34, and her screenwriter husband Marc Silverstein welcomed their second daughter on Tuesday, July 2, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

“Everyone is healthy and happy,” the rep tells PEOPLE, adding that baby girl weighed in at 8.5 lbs. The couple has not yet chosen a name.

“So this happened…” Philipps Tweeted Wednesday, sharing a black and white photo of herself cuddling her newborn.

The new addition joins big sister Birdie Leigh, 4½.

Philipps announced her pregnancy in December when she posted a photo of her positive pregnancy test on Twitter. In April, she told The Huffington Post she was having another girl and shared that Birdie was ready — sort of — for her little sister.

“My daughter is super excited,” the actress said. “She’s actually incredibly helpful and … she’s really understanding things, when I say like, ‘Mom can’t carry you right now because the baby in her tummy is pressing down on her bladder!’ She understands what that means and she’s cool with it.”

But she’s not exactly expecting to make her the full-time nanny anytime soon.

“We’ll see what happens when the actual baby comes,” Philipps added. “I’m planning for that moment like, ‘And when does she go back?’ I know that will happen.”

That’s cute. Well, congrats to Busy and Marc and big sister Birdie. I can’t wait to hear what they name this little girl. Busy also posted this photo on Twitter:

Beautiful!

See? No drama on birth. No drama on releasing a pic. No drama on how much weight she’s gained. No drama about the baby daddy. Just big smiles. You have to love Busy Phillips.

aw, congrats to busy! I love the name birdie, looking forward to hearing the name they choose. and busy’s real name is elizabeth, so I doubt she’ll go there … 🙂

    Congrats to my very favorite!

  4. Thora says:

Congrats. My family just finished watching Freaks and Geeks on DVD and Kim Kelly was a favourite in our household. I wish her and her little girl all the best.

  5. serena says:

Congrats to the family, I just hope it won’t be another ridiculous name.

  6. Dawn says:

Awww…congrats! Now this is how you do it, you don’t hold out for money to share your joy, you just share it! I can’t wait to see what name they come up with I am sure whatever it is it will be cute and original.

Well to be fair, as much as I love Busy, I doubt anyone was beating down her door offering her tons of money for the first pics. She’s been getting papped lately because the tabloids and blogs will buy photo’s of anyone who’s knocked up, but she’s far from a household name. Twitter’s her best chance for max publicity.

  7. ella says:

Congrats, Busy! Loved her since Freaks and I think Cougar Town doesn’t get the love it deserves.

  8. Emily says:

    Ahh I love her!
She was amazing on Dawson’s Creek!
I wish her daughter and Suri Cruise were friends.. would be amazing!

  9. The Original Mia says:

Finally! Poor thing seemed pregnant forever. Congrats & I can’t wait for the name.

  10. Lucy2 says:

Congrats to their family! I’ve never really watched her shows but I’ve always liked her. Curious what the name will be. Birdie, while not a name I’d ever choose, is kind of cute- for a kid. As an adult I don’t know.

    • Trek Girl says:

The name Birdie sounds just fine for an adult. It’s just like any other name.

Well, it’s actually a bit better than most other names to me because it’s not generic, but that’s just me.

Very nice. But in another note Busy did try for her own attention saying she didn’t have to worry because Simpson and kardashin were getting it. Busy has done her fair share to get some of her own.. It’s a beautiful pic absolutely and Busy plays the game like everyone else lol

    • mwow says:

True. She’s a pretty 2nd or 3rd tier TV actress, but she knows by tweeting and putting her family pics out there that it’s good for her career. That’s what you gotta do these days.

It must kinda suck to be a normal pregnant woman these days…
At 6 months everyone is exclaiming that you’re ‘OMG so HUGE and ready to BURSSSTTT!!!’ and you’re all ‘……………….3 months to go’

Noone seems to know what a pregnancy looks like anymore.. as soon as you start to look pregnant, everyone talks about how uncomfortable you look and how the baby is bursting out any second…

    • EG says:

I second that! I am just seven months and a woman I work with said I look like I’m “ready to explode”. I’m a big girl, but I in no way look nine months pregnant yet. I told her I was certainly going to get bigger, so she better get ready for that (meaning she better get ready to stop making such rude comments for the next two months!). Anyway, what possesses people to say these things? Busy looked beautiful and real, and I’m happy for her family that they had a healthy little girl! Healthy baby is the most important thing, no matter what the woman looks like while pregnant.

    • Trek Girl says:

Meh — they say that about some pregnant celebrities because the pregnancy was announced early on. Because we aren’t with them on a daily basis it makes the normal length of the pregnancy seem much longer.

Also, when the headlines or captions on the pictures of a pregnant celebrity suggest she’s been pregnant for a long time or that she’s huge, people tend to adopt that thinking because they don’t pay attention to the dates and usually don’t know much about pregnancy themselves.

Comments like, “You’re ready pop” and “You’re so big” aren’t new, though — not at all.

  13. Suze says:

yay! Love Busy love her family – congrats!

  14. Sandy says:

Congratulations. Birdie is a not a name. What is up with celebrities giving their children horrible names

    • Trek Girl says:

Birdie is a name. Many of the names celebrities have chosen that seem weird are in fact names that have been used many times before over decades and decades.

Apple, Birdie, Bear Blu, Lion, Seven, Poppy, Ace– all of these names are real names that have been used for quite a while or are alternates of names that are used all the time.
