Ellen Pompeo steps out with 3-year-old Stella Ivery in LA: super-cute?

Just take this as evidence that Prince Crumpets has blown every other gossip story out of the water and we’re struggling to find stuff to talk about. Ordinarily, I would have ignored these photos of Ellen Pompeo, who I have no strong feelings about either way, but I decided to write about them because her daughter is adorable and why not.

Her daughter, Stella Ivery, will turn 4 years old this September. She looks like such a happy little girl, doesn’t she? Just… joyful and adorable. Stella is mixed-race, obviously. Ellen’s husband is Chris Ivery, and they’ve been together since 2003, married since 2007. There are some rumors floating around that he has a wandering eye, but I’ve never seen anything verified and their marriage seems low-key and solid, I guess. Who knows? Stella really takes after her dad – she looks so much like him!

As for Ellen’s weird dress… I guess she’s comfortable. It looks like she just wandered out of her house in a giant t-shirt, possible the t-shirt nightgown that she slept in, except she accessorized it like it’s a real dress.

PS… I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy and never have, so I’m shocked to learn that it’s still on the air! How? Are people still watching it? Is it going to end after this season?

Adorable kid, mom just redefined frumpy.

Cute little girl! And Ellen’s dress looks super comfy.

She’s a cutie. I can’t believe how much she’s grown. I’m a big Grey’s Anatomy fan and remember when Ellen was pregnant with her. It’s nice to see what a beautiful, happy and fun loving child she is becoming.

Two words: Jesse Williams. Google Image him 😉

  5. Jayna says:

Ellen really lives a lowkey life. Pretty little girl.

Grey’s Anatomy jumped the shark several seasons back. I stopped watching it when the most recent group of interns came in the show. They’re all obnoxious. And the endless couples’ bickering got old.

    Pompeo’s little girl is adorable.

I stopped watching about 3 seasons in when Ellen’s character jumped in the harbor to commit impromptu suicide and her boyfriend decided he could not be with her after that.

It was the characters 10,000 breakup. And I hit BS angst maximum.

      • Rachel says:

She didn’t jump, she was knocked in. It was the fact that she can swim and chose not to.

I stopped watching the same season as you though. That show was nauseatingly asinine. Plus, I couldn’t stand looking at Ellen Pompeo or listening to her speak. I also found her character to be incredibly dislikable. She was just so emo and pathetic. And I know a good story has flawed characters, but it’s usually a combination of good qualities and flaws. Ellen Pompeo’s character was a gigantic flaw. Had she stayed dead that episode, I may still be watching the show. But probably not. Too lame.

I agree completely. It jumped the shark at that point. Far longer than a couple seasons ago. It just got to be the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. Too bad because the first couple seasons were pretty strong.

Ha! That’s the same time I stopped watching. I remember seeing that and thinking, “you CAN’T be serious that this is happening again.” I also could no longer suspend that much medical reality–I love how anything that concerned a sick kid (be it brain surgery, cancer treatment, etc.) was done by Addison. Um, that’s not how medicine works.

  7. Lukie says:

She looks like Jessica Alba’s daughter, Honor…

  8. Hannah says:

Yeah, i only found out recently that GA and Supernatural still air new episodes. I know ER was a drama that lasted years but that was a lot less arc-y and depressing than GA so I am surprised people still watch.

Cute daughter. I always think I don’t like Ellen but I don’t really know anything about her so I think I just identify her as Meredith..

  9. blue marie says:

the little girl is adorable.. but why does Ellen always wear clothes that are too big for her? That is an overgrown t-shirt..

    • Ok says:

A lot a anoxia sufferers wear extremely loose clothing. I do believe she does battle with an eating disorder.

      • BooBooLaRue says:

Spot on. Or she just escaped from the loony bin.

      • blue marie says:

oh ok, I honestly didn’t know that, thank you for informing me.

      • Jayna says:

Her arms are solid, as are her legs, not skinny scrawny. I don’t buy anorexic with arms like that. Maybe pregnant again or just bad taste in clothes. LOL

      • akua says:

It’s possible still, I had an eating disorder and exercised 3-4 hours a day, people do of all different shapes and sizes, even not a ‘typical’ look.

    That baby is adorable!
I am not a die-hard Grey’s anatomy fan. But I have to admit I watch it: you know it’s the kind of show you don’t need to be focused all the time, like Mad Men; you can watch it, while doing something else, if you skip a lot of episodes you can still watch it. Basically it’s like a soap opera, with a bunch of medical stuff on the background.
    I find it relaxing.
And I am a huge Bailey’s fan. I love the nazi.

  11. RHONYC says:

super tall like the daddy…could’ve sworn that kid was 4 or 5! 😯

  12. Jennifer12 says:

Awww, she looks like one of my nieces. <3 Are you sure Ellen isn't pregnant?

  13. tinyfencer says:

Stella is absolutely adorable, but Ellen’s dress looks like a hospital gown, making her look like an escaped mental patient.

  14. cloud&feather says:

Her little girl is so cute, but I can’t make heads or tails of that giant shirt/dress. It does look like a hospital gown.

  15. Jacqueline says:

I want those TOMS! Lol she’s cute

  16. RobN says:

Beautiful little girl, but Ellen always looks so unwell. Lots of people are thin, but they don’t have the look of people who couldn’t pick up a bag of groceries without being overly taxed by it, but Ellen always has that look. Skinny without muscle tone, vaguely greyish skin. I hope she’s fine, but if she were a friend, I’d be concerned.

  17. Amy says:

    “Stella is mixed-race, obviously.”

Hi there Kaiser, I don’t mean to be a prude or anything(I know you didn’t mean anything bad by it. I figured it would be a good opportunity to educate).

I am black female-I have very light pale olive skin(you can literally see my veins), blue eyes and loose long wavy hair. Both my parents are black professionals, not like Huxtables:) (nerds extraordinaire). All my siblings look like little Miss Stella (adorbz)

    • cs says:

      @Amy

I don’t think she meant anything by it. Ellen is obviously white and her little girl is light-skin black girl w/ curly hair. She’s cutie pie who looks just like her dad.
But you’re right.. Blacks folks come in many different complexions, hair texture and eye color.

I can’t tell you how many people thought Vanessa Williams was mixed only to find out both of her parents are Black. Because she was light skinned, with Blue eyes..

Some people still don’t know Mariah Carey is mixed. They think she’s white.
