I got a lot of tweets and comments about Taylor Swift’s look at the VMAs, but I didn’t really find it that controversial or notable. Swifty wore this Herve Leger gown which made her body look great, frankly. She has a model-y figure and she owns it. The gown was very obvious and very “look at me!” but I actually enjoyed the fact that she wasn’t wearing a super-sweet, frothy princess gown and I’m glad she wore a dark color too. I also enjoyed the way she styled it. This is perhaps the best hair she’s had at a music event ever! If I had to change one thing, I would give her better jewelry. And that’s it.
I’m not really sure who Erin Wasson is (a model, right?), but this is what she wore. It’s Alexandre Vauthier. She has a great body, but… honey no.
Ciara wore Givenchy Couture. I hate when ladies wear gowns that are designed to make you think, “Are we just one breeze away from seeing her biscuit?” Also, too many feathers.
Sarah Hyland in Marchesa. I hate when young women do this – I hate when they go overboard for an event like the VMAs. The VMAs are not the event where you should wear a Marchesa gown. You should never wear Marchesa anyway, but if you really need to, save it for a red-carpet Hollywood event, like a big premiere or something. Not the VMAs. Also: this dress just sucks completely. Poor Sarah.

Taylor looks freak amazing…I used to hate her country girl looks but it seems she is finally growing up.
I like the dress and hair a lot as well. I don’t know much about her, and I know she irritates a lot of people, but I do like how she took her time to grow into a more adult image.

Okay, I have a daughter, so from a mothers point of view…I prefer Taylor Swift over most of what is out there today. I don’t love her music or whatever, but hardly anyone else in the game wears as much fabric as she does. I need more like her and less like Miley and Rihanna. Anna….. I’m late on this reply, so you probably already heard what she said.
When the 1D guys were on stage to present an award, and were thanking their fans for being great (or something like that), Taylor was seen on camera (in the audience with Selena Gomez) saying ‘shut the *uck up’. Then, when she accepted her own award, she couldn’t resist a dig at thanking the person who ‘inspired’ her song (and of course the camera panned to a very awkward looking Harry Styles).
IMO, Taylor looked gorgeous but was a total bitch that needs to get over her serial break up revenge songs and move on.
I also think she is shitting where she sleeps when it comes to the Harry Styles stuff. Those who buy her music are the same (or close) to those who like 1D, and turning off a bunch of 1D fans might not be a great idea… but I guess she isn’t too worried about it.
She needs to think of new topics to write songs about (beyond who she’s dated).
Yes. I was thinking yesterday that she needs to expand her horizons. Go do some charity work in a 3rd world country, gain some perspective, and then start song writing. As in, get off the boyfriend breakup song treadmill, and use your massive fan base to raise some awareness. Or even tour some schools in your own country, and raise some awareness about starving children. Do something besides bitch about the past.

You do realize this is her fourth studio album ?, not all of her songs are about break-ups. She also has written songs about her family, friendships, a child stricken with cancer, Romance, sex, etc.
Even if she did just sing about break-ups, as one music critic said” Taylor Swift sells albums like its 1979″.
It is unheard of today to sell 1.2 million cd’s in a week… and have two albums in a row put up those numbers. Queen Bey, Rihanna or Katy Perry have those numbers first week out the gate.
She was recently honored for the only solo artist to sell-out 4 shows in a row at the Staple Center in LA.
The problem people have with Taylor is that she’s been in short-lived high-profile relationships. We know who the guys are or at least guess who they are. Would we be talking about these songs if it was the guy down the street?
Her few break-up songs out of 100 recorded in 8 years so happened to be her biggest hits.
I personally didn’t think she should’ve dated (2)teenagers. But again, one of them dated a 37 year old before Taylor.
BTW, Joe Jonas did write a brutal song about her. John Mayer recently wrote a song as well.
But I guess no one knew or cared since they can’t sell Cd’s like it’s 1979.

Actually in some interview when she performed that song for the Brit awards she, said that it was “difficult” or some such BS to perform it when the person you wrote it about was right there, and the only one of her exs that was there I believe was Harry. Also in some other article, some Tay Tay approved source indicated that they had dated previously but broke up when pics were snapped of Harry Kissing Emma Ostilly. So I believe that was shade for Harold for sure. And she needs to stop!

They were never obvious to me. As a matter of fact, I only noticed a difference when the rumors first started, and I was trying to see if it was weight-related or bra-related.
Hmmm, I was just thinking that this dress debunked the bolt-on theory. She is a lot skinnier here than during the height of those rumours, and her boobs seem much smaller. Maybe she’s just one of those girls whose weight is reflected in the boobage.

What are you talking about? She didn’t call out Harry Styles at all, she called out the subject of her song, you know, the song that was written, recorded, and released several months before they dated. It’s not about him.
She also didn’t tell them to STFU, it looks like she said it to Selena who was sitting next to her and was nominated for that award. Presumably, she made some comment that she wasn’t going to win, and Taylor told her to shut up, because she was going to win.
Also, I’m pretty sure that unlike you, both Styles and Swift are over their relationship, especially considering that they took pictures together later that night.

They actually dated in early 2012. They broke up when Harry was caught kissing some girl in Australia. Taylor herself has come out and said that song is about Harry. So yes, she did call him out.

I actually love Taylor’s look here. It seems like she is trying to have a more grown up image as of late and this is working for her. And sorry Sarah but that Marchesa dress is horrible, even for Marchesa.

She ruined her otherwise stunning figure with those implants. They’re so obviously fake, like Victoria Beckham circa 2003 fake, and they cheapen her whole look. This dress would have looked a million times better on her pre-surgery.
Her make-up is much too heavy here (and pretty poorly applied). Her face is too young looking to do both dark statement lips and eyes, but at least she’s trying something a bit more adult. The innocent princess thing was getting really old.

I don’t know if it was just me, but this dress reminded me of Jennifer Lawrence’s Calvin Klein at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars Party? I feel Taylor was aiming for that, but failed. Jennifer pulled off the silhouette and overall look FAR more successfully.
Also, it was sickening to watch her play up to the cameras on her in the audience. The way she danced side-on to actually FACE the camera, not the performance and carried on with Selena non-stop – it was so transparent and eye-roll inducing.

Wearing that to the VMA’s is the equivalent of wearing something too tight and short to your ten-year reunion to show the boys what they could have had (oh, don’t front Tay Tay – we know what you were up to). I am not a Swifty fan, I was when she first came out… But not in a long time.
However, if she would stop publicizing & getting bunny crazy over everyone she starts to date that would be more convincing of her personal growth. I would like for her to write songs and perform in a manner that shows the growth & class that her hopefully continued new wardrobe decisions want to convey. If she did that I just could become a Taylor fan again.

Taylor needed a new look but I am not sure if this was it. I like when women with less in the boobage department wear low cut dresses… it can look quite classy and chic. But Taylor is rather thin and it’s borderline scary. Just too many jaunty angles going on with that dress.
