Is Britney going to get $14 million for her biography?

SPL63928_014

According to the Mirror, Britney Spears is going to write an autobiography – and has even received a huge $14 million advance. The tab claims that Britney is finally ready to tell/sell her story, and will put out somewhere between three to five books over the next decade. That’s right, supposedly Brit’s life is so fascinating that it must be told in multiple parts. Which I find really hard to believe.

They also claim that Brit’s been keeping diaries, so there’s nothing she’s forgotten and the only things that will be left out are the ones she chooses not to talk about. However OK! magazine expresses some serious skepticism at the story, and though I generally don’t believe a whole lot of what they say, in this case I’m inclined to agree.

As always with stories Britney Spears, it’s difficult to tell truth from fiction, which make new reports out of the UK about the pop superstar signing a $14 million deal for her autobiography that much harder to figure out if they’re true or not.

According to The Mirror, Brit-Brit has inked the mammoth deal to tell all about her rollercoaster life and career.

However, one U.S. publishing insider tells OK!, it’s unlikely that the pop princess would get anything near the amount being reported.

“That seems ridiculously high for a book deal,” the source tells OK!. “Even though she’s a huge star, that doesn’t mean anyone wants to read an autobiography by her. To make back that much of an advance, the publisher would have to sell Harry Potter-size numbers.”

So while we would love to see Britney finally tell her complete side of the story — from Mickey Mouse Club to divorced mother of two — we’re not holding our breath.

[From OK! Magazine]

I doubt this would be a big seller, and OK! is certainly right – it’s not going to approach Harry Potter numbers, or anything close to it. There have been so many unauthorized books about Brit’s life, and although they’re not necessarily the most reputable things out there, I don’t place a whole lot more faith in her own version. Obviously she’s not going to write about things she doesn’t want to get into, so there’s no reason to believe we’d find out the truth behind any of her big secrets.

And while people are interested in Britney’s day-to-day life, I think they’re more likely to read about it bit-by-bit in news articles, rather than going out and purchasing an entire book that goes over everything. There’s no way her advance could possibly equal out for her sales. It sounds like nothing more than wishful thinking to me.

I never go on posts about Britney because I am not a so-so looking gay man and can blow her away in the looks dept. like Madonna.

Find us a young, educated college kid with some talent. Not this sloppy mess.
