Kate Bosworth & Michael Polish marry in a ranch wedding in Montana

As we previewed on Friday, Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish got married this weekend. They had been engaged for about a year, and Kate had been talking about the wedding in every interview, so there was nothing really scandalous or anything about the wedding plans or the wedding. They got hitched on a ranch in Montana. Sure.

The long-awaited moment has arrived! Kate Bosworth and fiance Michael Polish officially exchanged vows and became husband and wife in an intimate ceremony in Philipsburg, Montana on Saturday, Aug. 31, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.

Bosworth, 30, and film director Polish, 42, said “I do” in front of about 50-75 of their closest family and friends at The Ranch at Rock Creek, sources tell Us. The ceremony took place on a mountain top, with the new bride arriving in a stage coach being pulled by two horses. The Win a Date With Tad Hamilton! actress wore a traditional strapless dress with a full train and had her hair up and pulled away from her face.

Guests of the newlweds were given Polaroid cameras, and were asked to post photos on a board in the main lodge that said, “Love is…”

The couple, who met on the set of 2011 film Big Sur, knew from the get-go that their relationship would be a lasting one, Bosworth told the September issue of InStyle UK.

“I never even dated my husband-to-be,” she told the magazine. “He said to me after just a few weeks, before we were even together, ‘I’m going to marry you.’ He just knew.”

Polish proposed to Bosworth in August 2012 during a trip to South Korea after the pair first made their public debut as an item at a Coldplay concert just one year earlier. Before meeting her now-husband, Bosworth dated Alexander Skarsgard and Orlando Bloom.

[From Us Weekly]

People Magazine confirmed the wedding too, and People’s site ran the story with a really awful photo of Kate and Michael and I thought for a moment that the pic was, like, Kate and Michael’s wedding portrait. I guess not, though. In that photo, she’s wearing a high-necked dress which looks like a costume. But Us Weekly says her gown was strapless! So… okay. The Bos told The Edit that her gown was going to be Oscar de la Renta, I think, and Page Six claimed a few weeks ago that Kate was giving/selling her wedding photos to Martha Stewart Weddings. Anyway, congrats to Michael and Kate.

Oh, I just saw that Martha Stewart Weddings has released some photos from the wedding – go here to see. Kate’s dress looks pretty and simple. Maybe a little too basic.

Congrats to them, sounds like it was a lovely wedding. Her dress was pretty.

  2. Anna says:

I like her little tiara, whatever I can see of it. Very Downton.

  3. Yellowshaba says:

    Snoozeville

  4. Jade says:

He looks like such a creep!

    • Boodiba says:

I was thinking that too but I don’t know why!!!

    • QQ says:

      Ultra Creepy!

Also “long awaited” by who?…. Her and Her publicist?

      • Zooyork says:

        Yes, exactly! Long-awaited by who?!
Also…. Every article mentions that he is a director, but they never give an example of any work he’s ever done. I could just be totally ignorant, but has he ever directed a film or show?

    • It'sJustBlanche says:

Thinking the same thing. He has an oozy aging hipster thing going on.

      • Frida_K says:

He looks like the kind of guy who should be besties with Jennifer Anniston’s *cough* fiancé.

    • Cazzee says:

Thanks for saying that. He looks incredibly manipulative, and smart enough to usually be getting his way!

However, it must also be said that she looks very happy. For now.

  5. Kim1 says:

So the Star magazine story about her gaining weight for her wedding was BS.Star Magazine used that same BS story for Angelina Jolie last year.Congrats to the couple

  6. Birdie says:

    Congrats.

  7. MisJes says:

The ranch is gorgeous! I really love country theme, it looks adorable.

And I disagree about the dress – from what we can see, it looks classic and understated. I believe less is more, and she looks so pretty.

I can’t wait to see more pictures!

  8. Lex says:

Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson are the biggest scam artists in Hollywood… They’ve done nothing of note in like ten years but still are always photographed and manage to score magazine covers… WHY?!??!

I guess Rachel at least had(/has?) that doctor show… don’t think it’s too popular or well known though! But Kate? Seriously, what does she do?

    • MissMoody says:

Because they played the “fashion girl” card. It’s what Jessica Biel is desperately hoping will work for her.

    • ctkat1 says:

They’re “mocktresses.” The Hollywood Reporter did a big article on the rise of the mocktress, a young woman who had one or two big films early in her career who now hasn’t worked as an actress in years/doesn’t do films that have a theatrical release, but who is inexplicably famous. Basically, they become “fashion girls”, the ones who will attend ANY event for a fee.

    • baby says:

“…the ‘win a date with tad hamilton actress’…” lol

    • Bodhi says:

      I agree 100% about Kate.

But Rachel Bilson has been working steadily for years & her Show, Hart of Dixie, is actually really good & was renewed for a 3rd season.

      • erin says:

I was not a fan, but Rachel Bilson is great in Hart of Dixie.

      • Lex says:

It’s hardly a big hit though – where I live it is aired on pay tv on a channel that gets all the American reject shows.

She is on a recent cover of Cosmo!
An actress in an average tv show that isn’t that popular shouldn’t warrant such attention.

      • Bodhi says:

@lex – Its on a lower level cable channel here in the States. Yeah, it isn’t a huge big deal, but it is a cute little show.

As I said, she has been working steadily for years, something that Bosworth certainly can’t say

  9. JM says:

The dress is pretty, just not on Kate. If you choose to wear a strapless gown, be sure and have the boobs to hold it up. The picture looks like it’s going to slide off her at any moment.

On a more positive note. Hope they have a nice life together…permanently out of the public eye.

  10. Tiffany27 says:

Congrats to her. I expected something else for her dress, but she looked happy.

  11. Annabelle says:

After seeing a pic of the full gown, I’ve changed my opinion on it. I think it’s quite classic and lovely.

ETA: Is she wearing a tiara?

  12. Sabrine says:

I actually love that black and white photo of them with him holding the dog, quite lovely. I don’t really care for her wedding look but full on she may look a lot different.

He’s been branded here with all sorts of nasty names but I fail to see where he warrants them. He seems like a nice guy and he obviously loves her to pieces. I wish them well.

  13. Frida_K says:

My first thought when looking at picture number two here is:

Wow (should in fact they procreate, assuming she is capable of actually menstruating)….any kid of theirs is going to be skinny and have a really large forehead!!

  14. Sandi says:

All that fuss about that plain-jane dress?

  15. Estella says:

    I love her hair color.

  16. freya says:

For a custom dress I find it rather ill fitting, tbh. Maybe her second dress was better? Are there any pics of that one?
Popsugar has a pic of the whole dress http://www.popsugar.com/Kate-Bosworth-Wedding-Pictures-31511157
I find it very plain for such a “fashion icon”
PS There just “happened” to be a pap in the middle of nowhere???

    • Milo says:

These have to be taken after the ceremony and are the “posed” shots, as there are hardly any guests there. And for a stylist, Cher has got the WORST sense of style.

    • Naw says:

Lol all celeb weddings call the paps espically for people like kb.
It’s taken from a helicopter, she does not look too mad about it.
The top part if the dress is boring but i think I like the train/bottom part of the dress. But too boring for me. It just showes how skinny she is,

I can’t stand Kb but I wish her well in her marriage and hope they won’t divorce in 5 yrs.

  17. Lucy2 says:

The dress is pretty in a simple, classic kind of way. I am assuming they gave the photos in exchange for having Martha Stewart living provide all the decorations and favors. Seems like selling out a private event, but then again she’s never been publicity shy.

  18. Anna says:

“The ‘Win a Date with Todd Hamilton’ actress”

    Hahahahahahajjahahaha

    • baby says:

haha i know right…i wrote that further up not realizing you already commented that… great minds 🙂

  19. Mirella says:

I expected so much more from a “fashion icon”. The dress is pretty & classic, but not what I was expecting from her interviews.

  20. callie says:

“Seemingly down to earth personality” martha got her number too:)

  21. MeowuiRose says:

I hope I don’t get a lot of hate for this question: do you think he knows she potentially has an eating disorder? Does he find her body attractive? I just always wonder about these painfully thin women who are with someone…like what goes on behind closed doors. I don’t think I would be making life plans with someone who was so unhealthy and destructive. Like it’s the same to me as being an alcoholic or drug addict in the sense that I would want that person to get healthy first before getting married, having a child, etc.

    • Tiffany27 says:

Some women are just naturally really thin (I don’t know if Bosworth falls into that category) so it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re living a destructive life. Most women in Hollywood are very, very thin so I think the men just get accustomed to it. I’ve never really understood why she gets so much hate. She’s really thin, calls the paps, and isn’t a very good actress……….but so are a million other actresses.

    • Stef Leppard says:

He looks like he may have an ED as well.

  22. baby says:

ok so i’m getting married in like, not even three weeks, so i’ve obviously got wedding stuff on the brain and i was just thinking..how awkward that must be as a celebrity to have your wedding announcement punctuated by a list of other people you’ve previously dated..WTF? i’m trying to think..does this usually happen with celebs or is this just the bos famewhoring every possible angle of this?

    • cr says:

“how awkward that must be as a celebrity to have your wedding announcement punctuated by a list of other people you’ve previously dated..WTF? i’m trying to think..does this usually happen with celebs..”
I think there is a general celeb aspect to it, but in her case she’s been better known for her boyfriends than for her acting career.

  23. Green Is Good says:

This woman was DESPERATE to catch herself a husband!

  24. Bodhi says:

I hate that Montana has become the land of the hipsters, but it was bound to happen. And they’ll all leave eventually.

Oh right, her wedding… It looks boring, but I bet the gift bags were fantastic & I love that there was cool stuff for the guests to do

  25. Zooyork says:

I think he is way too thin also. I’m not attracted to guys that are That lean- I don’t find it manly enough. He looks like he needs to eat lots of steak.
