Perhaps very few people know who Dan Abrams is. He’s a legal analyst and fixture of MSNBC, for several years hosting his own prime-time show that was like the classier version of Fox News’s Greta van Susteren. Dan and Greta often chased after the latest crime story that fixated cable news in the down-times in between, you know, war coverage and financial meltdowns. Anyway, Dan’s show got cancelled, then replaced with Rachel Maddow’s show this past September. And Maddow’s not leaving any time soon – she’s a huge ratings hit, much bigger than Dan Abrams.
After his show got cancelled, Abrams sulked about MSNBC with a scruffy beard, chiming in on crime stories whenever possible. It seemed like his career took a big hit, but now it looks like his personal life is picking up some steam! The NY Post and other gossip outlets are reporting that Abrams has been seen out and about with Renee Zellweger. OK! has some juicy details.
It’s been more than three years since Renee Zellweger and country superstar Kenny Chesney annulled their 4-month marriage, so maybe it’s about time for the Oscar-winner to find a new fella.
And according to Wednesday’s NY Post, the actress might have found herself a man in hunky MSNBC legal correspondent Dan Abrams.
The pair were spotted out together on a date last Saturday night, dining at a “cozy table for two” at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, NY.
If the twosome are indeed dating, this wouldn’t be the first time Abrams has made goo-goo eyes at an actress, having previously dated Law & Order’s Elisabeth Rohm, Dexter’s Jaime Murray and supermodel/actress Elle Macpherson.

Good Lord, Dan Abrams dated those women? That man has hidden depths. Renee seems like a very private person, despite the occasional headline-grabbing fashion gaffe. She can’t be too happy that this information is coming out. Or perhaps this is a small part of her movie promotion for that horrible-looking film New In Town, also starring Harry Connick Jr. Renee has a very savvy publicity team – I think she has the same team as Jennifer Aniston, actually. They know that no movie promotion is complete without some great behind-the-scenes gossip. And we fall for it every time.

Although he looks a bit… undead, I kinda think he’s cute (somehow, I’m always attracted to men with interesting noses). What I don’t get is how someone could be wanting to date her. She’s the one and only actress that will actually make me not see a movie if she’s in it. I even found her obnoxious as a fish in Shark’s Tale! She looks and behaves and acts like an alien who’s pulled on an ill-fitting human mask.

Anna, I am so with you on that. I think he’s kinda cute in a scryffy, nose off to the side sort of way (that nose could have its advantages!) but I find her hideous. And even more hideous is the fact that obviously she has no idea she’s hideous, thinks she’s HOTT, and is always posing like she’s some sort of femme fatale. Can’t stand to look at the squinty-eyed broad.

Dan is actually the head of MSNBC. he stepped in with a show to fill in a schedule change, and was never supposed to stay on the docket…so I’m sure he wasn’t “sulking around” the studio! he used to be the lead talking head for court tv, and he is brilliant. He beat cancer a few years back, and is really an amazing man.

*shudders* Renee needs to go away and please, please, please not take any of the truly hot people, like Dan, with her. But you gotta agree, in that header pic he looks like a sea-sick vampire, eerily pale with just a hint of green.

I thought Dan was the head of MSNBC or at least he was a year or two ago. Dan and his little old lady fingers are very distracting but I find him surprisingly interesting.

He’s attractive although I went off him as soon as I saw he dated Elle Eurotrash Macpherson but maybe that was just a momentary abberation. I don’t understand the hate for Renee though. She seems very sweet, down to earth, private and vulnerable. She’s also a good actress and she’s she’s not a walking hollywood barbie doll. What’s to dislike?

I liked his show..one of the ‘fairest’ on MSNBC, and I think this is a great match..she always says she wants a smart guy instead of the air-head actors she works with.
