That coat is everything. Those pumps are everything. She is everything. That is all.

    • BW says:

      I want that coat.

    • wiffie says:

I feel like i’m the only one that doesn’t think she is the end all, be all, the axis on which the earth spins. I don’t get it. I feel like people say that to make up for the fact that she’s weird. I know I’ll get flamed , but I acknowledge i’m one of 2 people. Sorry.

      • wiffie says:

To add would you say the same of goopy wore that coat and shoes? No. you’d say it was ugly and annoying.

      • BW says:

I don’t think she’s the endall, either, but I still want that coat.

      • shahdhch says:

I think I am the other one of two with you.

      • Carol says:

        Three

      • Josephine says:

I think she’s just incredibly refreshing in a world of barbie dolls, and she wears clothes well. She’s a one of a kind in a world where women are only supposed to look one or two ways.

In a world filled with plastic boobs and fake hair and botoxed faces and tongues sticking out, she’s a nice change!

But hey, she’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

      • Cirque28 says:

        @Josephine: +1

      • Lucy2 says:

I think she’s unique and interesting and talented, and I love that she doesn’t buy into the whole Hollywood thing, but I can see how some might not care for her or find her that fascinating.

      • Macey says:

no, you’re not the only one. I usually dont even read the articles b/c I dont get it, I only did this one b/c of the links. Nothing against her but I dont see the big deal with her either. I think you’re correct that she gets a lot of praise b/c she’s odd or whatever you want to call it. not that she doesnt deserve it but Im not so sure its all based on her talent alone.

      • snark says:

Love her. And Goop could NEVER pull off any of Tilda’s looks.

    • frisbeejada says:

@ Josephine +2 – sick to death of fake celebs, fake PR, fake everything – Swinton is a palate cleanser to all of it. First saw her in Sally Potter’s Orlando years ago and she has been brilliant ever since…

      • Mazunte says:

        @Josephine and @frisbeejada +3

I first saw her in Orlando too and thought, “she is so special!” She is a great actress and a breath of fresh air in a world where most seem to fall into a fake Barbie-like look and fake attitude. She is herself and most of what she wears is beautifully designed, for my taste.
I don’t find her “weird”. She stands out for her unique style.

  2. BooBooLaRue says:

Oh the humanity – Meg Ryan!

  3. bettyrose says:

Swoon. This picture is so cleansing after the Miley thread. Let’s always balance out each thread invoving entitled brats with stunning photos of talented celebs who just keep improving with age.

  4. Arock says:

Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal. If david Bowie and Mother Nature had a goddess daughter it would be this woman.

…and what the hell, meg Ryan….

  5. blue marie says:

I can’t wait to read the piece in VF on Paltrow, hopefully it is full of gossip-y goodness.

  6. tifzlan says:

I watch Homeland with my boyfriend every week and we both hate Dana but it makes me cringe every time he says that he wishes Dana’s suicide attempt had been successful. He has A LOT of vitriol for Dana and sometimes, i get really angry at him for it because he really does take it too far.

On a side note, does anyone else not trust Zac Hamilton? I feel like he’s going to leak her nude pics to the press or spread them around to his friends or something but so far, it hasn’t happened yet and he seems to really care for her. Still, i think he’s got something up his sleeve…..

    • ClaireB says:

Ha ! Was thinking the same about the pictures and everything. I hope not. But we still don’t know what he’s in for , don’t we ? Yeah I hope he ‘s a good guy.

On a side note : WHERE is that coat FROM?

  7. CaribbeanLaura says:

    SWINTON.

    That is all.

  8. O says:

I do hate Dana & I’m not apologising for that.. The most annoying character on tv right now..

  9. ncboudicca says:

I love that coat, and yet I can’t help thinking “but isn’t she hot under those lights”? Was this outside, maybe?

  10. Lucrezia says:

I prefer my belly button to Emily Ratajkowski’s.

She wins by a long-shot on every other feature you could think of, but my belly button is definitely cuter.

(Some days you just have to celebrate the little things.)

  11. Thiajoka says:

I LOVE herringbone and the embroidered(?) detail on that coat is gorgeous. Well done again, Goddess!

  12. Anna says:

Emily’s body is crazy? I don’t get the fuss. No curves at all.

  13. nico says:

can’t wait for the Goop article!!!

  14. Josephine says:

I know everyone loves to mock Meg Ryan’s plastic surgery — and let’s face it, it’s awful and she never needed it.

But to suggest that she’s “still trying to be a thing” is stupid. Meg Ryan had a very big career – even she never worked again, she would still be a well regarded actress who was in many, many hits. She was also one of the highest paid female actresses. So how about some respect? So sick of older women getting trashed in their later years.

    • fingerbinger says:

The only thing people seem to be trashing is her plastic surgery. The plastic surgery has rendered almost unrecognizable. Meryl Streep, Sally Field,Emma Thomas,Tilda Swinton, Katey Sagal, etc are all actresses in their 50’s and 60’s who are still workiing and getting great parts in film and television. So no one is trashing her age. They’re trashing her duck lips.

      • lisa2 says:

I think Meg got scared. She stopping being the America’s sweetie pie. The public seemed to only want to see her as the quirky cute girl next door. And no she didn’t need to do anything. She had a beautiful unusual face. I wish she had gone the way of Sally Field.

I think women need to realize that your face has a predetermined way it is going to age. Genetics. When you have facial surgery you don’t really change the way the face is going to age. The surgery just screws with the pathway.

      • fingerbinger says:

@lisa2 I agree about the plastic surgery. It probably wasn’t her age that that cost her jobs it was that no recognized her. I know it isn’t the exact same thing, but when Jennifer Grey had her nose job no knew who the hell she was. So I imagine she lost work because of it. Sometimes plastic surgery doesn’t help. BTW I meant Emma Thompson not Emma Thomas.

      • Josephine says:

I was making a point that the headline — “Meg Ryan still trying to be a thing,” is total bullsh!t. She already IS a thing, and the plastic surgery doesn’t change that. I hate plastic surgery as much as the next sane person, but I resent that people think she is trying to “make it” with her new tv show — she’s “made it” a hundred times over.

Wishing a peaceful Thanksgiving for my fellow Canadian CB posters.

  16. Apsutter says:

F*cking love the Alamo Drafthouse! Love how they’ll ban absolutely everyone and anyone for texting during a movie

  17. Roseanne says:

Tilda and Florence Welch..chicks that I will never be as cool as..Thank goodness for people like them to cancel out the Krapdashians, the Mileys, the Gagas..yuck!

  18. Lucy2 says:

I haven’t read Vanity Fair in ages, but I can’t wait for the Goop piece.

  19. Hautie says:

Please…. I renewed my Vanity Fair subscription. Just to make sure I get a early copy of this Goop article.

The biggest problem Gwyneth has, is she thinks it’s still 1998. And she actually has any kind of power to wield.

So I fully expect there to be some kind of truth telling in this article. That will leave her looking less than perfect. 🙂

  20. Joan V. says:

I really want to like Tilda, because she’s extremely talented, she thinks outside the box, and she’s different in every way. But I just. can’t. get past her signing the Roman Polanski petition. Who DOES that? So many respectable people on that list! Am I missing something? Was it not terrible what he did? I read the case file and all the court room dialogue (official name for that? Tee hee!!!), and it was literally sickening. Why are some of these hollywood people backing him? Dazed and Confused, over here.

  21. Eden75 says:

Oy Meg Ryan looks awful. Someone on DListed made a good comment. Her and Sandra Bullock are almost the same age (Ryan 51, Bullock 49) and look at the difference. That girl should have left her face alone.

  22. sqs says:

Tilda & Jim Jarmusch – early Christmas for me.
