Michaele Salahi & Journey guitarist’s pay-per-view wedding: height of delusion?

First of all, we wouldn’t be talking about these clowns if they weren’t pulling a stunt on this level, and they absolutely know that. So it’s possible they’re trolling the press, but it’s just as possible that they believe that their love is so momentous that people will pay to see their wedding on pay-per-view. How did they convince a cable network to get on board with this? I guess because Neal is the lead guitarist of Journey, and they still have a lot of fans who grew up with them in the 80s.

Michaele Salahi, the “White House Party Crasher” turned Housewife of DC turned runaway wife, and Journey’s Neal Schon have announced that their wedding will be on pay per view for the low cost of $14.99. Journey will perform. TMZ’s report doesn’t clarify which network has picked it up or how it will be distributed, which probably means they’re still shopping it.

Michaele Salahi and Journey guitarist Neal Schon have announced plans for a quiet wedding with their closest family and friends … and a LIVE Pay-Per-View audience — available in 90 MILLION homes.

The PPV event/wedding is going down Dec. 15th at the Palace of the Fine Arts in San Fran… and if you didn’t get the invite … you can watch the three-hour TV special dubbed the “Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event” for just $14.95!!!

The event will be hosted by a veteran TV crew including Debbie Matenopoulos, Cameron Mathison, and Karyn Bryant … and will feature live performances by (of course) Journey.

The couple will be the first to get married on Pay-Per-View … and they’ll be (slightly) redeeming themselves by donating a portion of the proceeds to a charity that benefits typhoon relief in the Philippines.

[From TMZ]

Yeah, a “portion” of the profits will go to typhoon relief. An undisclosed portion. Michaele and her former husband, Tareq, were accused of embezzling money from a charity they started, so I wouldn’t count on much to be donated here.

As I mentioned, I thought the verdict was out about whether these two were just doing this for attention or whether they thought their love is so marketable and interesting that “fans” will pay to see the wedding. I just saw this video of their wedding prep, posted on Yahoo! OMG and below, and quickly made up my mind. They’re delusional.

The couple’s “celebrity wedding planner” told Yahoo! that the venue, San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, will have protected airspace, a protected perimeter and that “they will not have a thing to worry about.” What? I’m sure that the wedding would have been besieged by Journey fans and paparazzi if they didn’t get security and protected airspace.

This video is hilarious. Michaele gets choked up talking about her wedding with Neal and he has just one expression, the only expression he can make, surprised. Michaele models three different designer gowns, by Lanvin, Carolina Herrera and Christian Dior, and exclaims “I’m looking for Hollywood glamour.” The voice over confirms that Michaele plans to wear all three gowns at the event. Got to give the audience a good show.

It just occurred to me that if they have a pay per view wedding, they can turn it into a tax write off. It could be an elaborate business scheme, and we know that Michaele loves schemes.

This has got to be the lowest of the low.

I prefer to give directly to charity without a side of delusion.
But don’t stop believing, Neal and Michaele, there must be some sucker out there.

True. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it comes complete with plenty of sides (edible yummy ones too).

      I’ll pass.

    • Christin says:

A side of delusion -LOL! Now, if Steve Perry would show up and sing. they might get a bigger audience.

      • Ellie66 says:

If Steve Perry was singing I would pay to see him! (oh yes please)! what’s wrong with Neal’s face? It seems strange. Yikes!

Pay per View…. they’ve just given Kimye an idea.

  9. epiphany says:

Neal is an amazing musician – Journey was a bit too middle of the road for me, but he did some great things with other bands, like HSAS, with Sammy Hagar. You would think a guitar player in a successful band would know when he’s being played – and that Pay-per-View wedding may be the tackiest thing I’ve ever seen. Yes, including Kimye.

  10. Inconceivable! says:

Michale was more focused on the camera than the love of her life. Then any long, uncomfortable silence was filled with an awkward kiss. How weird.
And a THREE hour pay per view special? Is that 2 hours and 56 minutes of a Journey concert, with 4 minutes of vows at the end?

  11. EscapedConvent says:

Hahahaha! These two are circus clowns of the highest order. Wonder how many people will pay to watch this?!

Although I’m a little intrigued by the location. The Palace of Fine Arts is a gorgeous, gorgeous place & I love it. it would be beautiful to have a wedding there. It’s too nice for these idiots.

  12. Adrien says:

Journey already donated a huge amount (lead singer is a Filipino).

    • Ok says:

Adrien — Steve Perry is not Philippino.

      He is Puerto Rican

      • Lormar says:

Steve Perry doesn’t sing for Journey anymore. The current lead singer of Journey is Arnel Pineda. (Since 2007 or 2008, i think) Arnel is from the Philippines. Neal Schon saw his performances on YouTube and tracked him down for an audition.

  13. Red32 says:

They’re garden-variety famewhores. The only thing that caught my attention is how do you pronounce her name? Is it Michelle? Michaela? Michael?

  14. Kiddo says:

I’m one of the rare people who doesn’t enjoy weddings to begin with, I can’t imagine paying to see one. Isn’t it already a huge joke that most people are annoyed when other people force them to watch their wedding video? I’d rather entertain myself by watching the paint dry on walls.

  15. An says:

Celebitchy, their “celeb wedding planner”, Sharon Sacks does all the parties/wedding for the Kardashians. She’s been on their show loads of times. She’s done all their events for a long, long time.

  16. Maureen says:

    His plastic surgery though!

  17. Camille (TheOriginal) says:

    Redic.

  18. Julianthe says:

I wrote a paper on the Narcissism of the Salahis when they crashed the white house party. This new list of behaviors would only seek to substantiate my claim of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This lady is a nutbag.

  19. cindy sandiego says:

These two are hilarious. But I would pay to see Steve Perry.

  20. Angee says:

Lucky couple. He gets a wife that cheats on her spouse. She gets a husband who sleeps with other men’s wives. They deserve each other.
