Angelina Jolie, Pax Thien, Zahara and Maddox left Vietnam today to return to the states. Zahara was flown in recently to join her older brothers in a photoshoot to appear in People Magazine and Hello!.
It seems that a lot of people are souring on Angelina after she contradicted herself twice in recent statements. First she sort-of pledged to be a stay-at-home mom, but people note she has several projects coming up. She also apologized to Pax for bringing him into such a media storm, but then quickly turned around and staged a photoshoot to sell the first pictures of her growing family to People and Hello for a reported $2 million.
Angelina is not due to start working until May, and as an actress she can bring her children with her on the set and spend all her free time with them. I’m still giving her the benefit of the doubt and it seems her heart is in the right place.
Sure she’s adopting a child, but she’s also balancing that with work like a lot of women do. She said she would stay home with Pax at first, not for the rest of the year. Heidi Klum has three children and no one bashes her for working too.
Angelina does come off as haughty on occasion, but maybe that’s inevitable as an actress that’s hounded everywhere she goes. It seems the public can turn on a celebrity figure quickly, especially when they embrace the press instead of shunning it. I can’t forget how much she really seems to care about people and all the charity work she does.
I am sure Angelina wants only the best for Pax. Looking at his face in these high resolution pictures, he seems scared and it must be so much for the little kid to take in. Both Zahara and Maddox are sleeping soundly and are being carried. Maybe Pax is just tired and grumpy. I’m sure Pax will manage and that Angelina and Brad will arrange for a translator and cultural advisor for the tyke.
Pax is said to enjoy spending time with his new brother, Maddox. They were seen playing and communicating through signs in the hotel lobby. Angelina told People, “It will take him a while to realize he has a family. and that his new life is permanent and that it won’t keep changing…” “We are slowly beginning to build his trust and bond,” Jolie says, “but it will feel complete only when we are all together.”
That little kid sure has a journey in front of him.
