Anna Nicole’s diaries to serve as boring reading for curious fans

Two of Anna Nicole’s handwritten diaries, dating back to 1992 and to her brief period as Mrs. J Howard Marshall in 1994, have sold for over half a million dollars in two separate live auctions on eBay to the same high bidder from Germany.

The diaries were not part of the material seized by the son of the owner of Anna’s squatter mansion in the Bahamas after her death. A memorabilia store in LA had some of her personal items, which included a pair of Anna’s sunglasses and some signed books and photos. They were said to have been purchased two years ago for a few hundred dollars. Now that shop owner and the fim he hired to hawk the goods are cashing in big time. The total amount of the high bids exceeded $500,000, and there is a 20% add on for the auction house, which brings the amount to $700,000.

Entries include such riveting passages as:

“It was a okay day,” she wrote of June 11, 1992. “I had lunch with Howard. Someone ran over my cat yesterday. I was real sad. Clay came over last nite and gave me some sleeping pills.”

And for those who think she cared nothing for “Howard” — billionaire oilman J. Howard Marshall II, whom she married in June 1994 — there is this entry from the second diary: “My husbands very weak. Theres nothing I can do. I want each hour to comfort him with medicines and prayers.”

It is thought that the winner of the auction, who is said to be a huge Anna fan, plans to publish them, although he is not known to be connected to a media company.

There was a story last month that Howard K Stern was blocked from selling Anna’s items on eBay as he does not have the right to her things because the will is not yet settled.

Howard K Stern is being evicted from the Bahamian mansion that he employed various legal tricks to live in these past few months. Anna Nicole was allowed to move into the mansion by the ex-boyfriend who owned it with the understanding that she would purchase it from him. When it became clear that Anna had no intention of buying it or paying rent, the legal battle to evit the squatters began, with Howard and Anna usually winning. Now the owner, G. Ben Thompson, says that Howard’s eviction is imminent, and that he’s kicking him out because there’s no way he’s the father of Dannielynn. The attorney for rightful owner Thompson says that if Larry Birkhead or Anna’s mom wins custody of baby Dannielynn, he might let them move into the mansion instead!

An official announcemed of death for Anna Nicole is expected Monday at 10:30 EST.

Thanks to Viv for the Houston Chronicle story about Anna’s diaries.
