Here are some photos of Emma Stone and the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in Rome yesterday. This is part of their grand European tour to promote the film, of course. It’s funny how – in the past four years or so – the way films are promoted has completely changed. It used to be that the European tour came after the American press blitz. Not so much with all of the big movies nowadays.
Anyway, let’s talk fashion. For the Rome premiere, Emma wore this gauzy, long-sleeved, patterned Valentino which is, in a word, AWFUL. The runway look did not have the oversized bow, which is a really awful touch. But it doesn’t even matter because the dress is so ugly. I mean… this looks like something that was worn once in 1976, stuffed in a trunk and then taken out so five-year-olds could play dress-up. You don’t wear this to a premiere!
At the photocall in Rome, earlier in the day, Emma wore this cream doily by Dolce & Gabbana. Who is this girl’s stylist?!?!? HER GRANDMOTHER?! Although I do prefer this doily to the Valentino, but that’s not saying much.
And here’s a preview of Emma’s fashion for the German stop. This is what she wore in Berlin today. I can’t.

The thinness was my 1st thought too.
I’ve also heard the substance rumors. She dropped weight really quickly and said it was stress related. Stress might be somewhat true, but is the celeb goto excuse to mask drug use and behavior.
isn’t her mom battling cancer? The stress of something like that could make the weight drop dramatically. especially if she wants to be home with family, but has to do the promotions.
First thing I noticed. She is looking REALLY thin.
Also, Andrew Garfield is so very punchable.
Yeah that’s about the only thing he does for me either.

While he’s done some nice things he’s got extreme diva tendencies. I won’t defend him.
I agree, the weight loss is making her look super old, waaay beyond her years, which is sad because she is so pretty.
Aww, I can’t dislike him anymore, not after watching all of his interactions with children. He is really sweet with them.
That was my first thought when I saw the pictures. Her face looks so gaunt and she’s all sharp angles.
Also, FLORC– Garfield has extreme diva tendencies? Ooh I’ve never heard this. What’s the gossip on that?

Ye gads — I just can’t get into the return of the tie-front bow. Between that, the quilt pattern on the skirt, and the see-through blouse, this get-up looks like something out of a 1970s porn flick: “Hot Steno Pool Sluts”.
Has she gotten botox? Her face looks shiny and it isn’t moving. Also, yes the dresses are ugly, but damn so is her makeup. That lipstick is bad.
Hmm, a bit speechless. Although I’d still rather look at this than Coachella T&A and Doilies of Doom.
Actually…I kind of like the Valentino. I think she rocks it.

True. I mean the dress is very pretty and interesting, but the dress is kind of wearing her. Someone as Nicole Kidman or Cate Blanchett would have made this work much better.

I don’t love the 3 but I find them all quite cute. I do love the Valentino one. I want it!!! But I have nowhere to use it…and probably not the money to buy it 🙂 I also find her make-up and hairstyle absolutely flawless in all the 3 moments. She seems to really like all of the outfits and that makes her shine…you look at all those starlets trying to dress something that is high fashion but feeling completely uncomfortable and “not on their skin” and it’s just awkward. She looks great!
I actually don’t hate either of the first two. The first one would be somewhat cute if it wasn’t so long and the fit of the second isn’t that great. I like her so much so I really don’t like that her stylist is doing such an average to awful job on her looks.
She has such a beautiful face that no matter what she wears she is stunning…

Ugly. Each one is just ugly. But she is such a pretty girl she almost pulls of the knit look. Almost.
All of these are awful. I hope she’s saving the better oufits for more high-profile events.
That Valentino with the see-through top to her black bra is awful. They added the bow to distract from looking at her bra but only made the dress worse. The doily outfit is poorly fitted. All the dresses just make her severe weight loss more noticeable. I like the red hair though. The blonde used to wash her out.
Garfield. No honey. Those colored suits to match Emma’s retro style are doing you no favors.
There’s some big Euro-soccer tourney starting soon. That’s a big reason why Spider-Man is hitting Europe so early; they’re opening the movie earlier there to avoid the soccer thingie because once it starts no one goes to the movies. Every couple years the early summer releases end up in this weird soccer vortex.
Do you mean FIFA World Cup? It’s not really an “european” thing…Might be a reason though. Still, I think that most movies don’t make it in Summer not because of soccer but because the nice weather starts and people will be mostly at the beach or enjoying an open space somewhere. It would be very seldom for me or my friends to go to the cinema during Summer. Soccer on the other hand you can watch in a beer garden drinking some beer 😉
I like the Berlin one for some reason. It looks like a fashion take on a folk costume.
I hate that braided messy hair do with the Cream Dolce….It’s too adolescent looking.

Like the long first one but not the others and not on her. She’s cute, but not beautiful these days… Used to like her but she kinda looks cracky now days. Her hair looks really brittle and her face looks tired. She needs to do something because she’s looking older than her years.

Today, it’s a toss up for WTH fashion- this and the Kim K post. These clothes are just heinous. Hopefully, she’ll fill out some once the craziness is over for the press tour.

I like the D&G, I think it looks lovely with the hair. And Valentino hm… I usually really like Valentino, but the dress looks somewhat horrible. I guess it’s the skirt, everything above the waist is beautiful. Tough…
And the Berlin look is just plain awful, imho.
Amusing, Kaiser sounds like my mother when she complains about Emma´s style. My mother hates when I wear lace and long sleeved dresses and wishes that I would try to look more sexy. That being said, even tough these dresses are fashionable they could be better.
