The Judge’s trailer is named “if Batman can have an Oscar,Iron Man also”
Finally RDJ in another movie than Iron Man or Sherlock…

    • starrywonder says:

LOL. I will watch it since it does look good. I love RDJ and Robert Duvall plus finally we got ourselves some Vincent D’Nofrio! I missed him!

      • Lisa says:

Oh wow, this movie looks CHEESY!! But, I will likely rent it, mainly because Vincent D’Onofrio is in it. I love him.

      • don't kill me i'm french says:

        a movie with RDJ,Duvall and D’Onofrio is always a must-see even if it’s a mess

    • Bliss says:

Didn’t he won for ‘Chaplin’ (Best Performance) a few years back and got nominated in 2008, shortly after IM1 for best performance in a supporting role in “Tropic Thunder” ?

The Oscar went to Heath Ledger instead.

      • Mia4S says:

No, he should have won for Chaplin but didn’t. He lost to Al Pacino for Scent of a Woman… which was a make up Oscar for the two or three Pacino should have won before that. Another reason Oscars are silly and don’t mean much.

      • Kiddo says:

They should have given Al Pacino the Lifetime Screaming Award.

  2. Kiddo says:

Gary Cooper was hot, and those aren’t the best photos of him. Aww, the kitty story, it’s lovely.

Also, the garbage bag companies really have made a big move into fashion. First it was the K dress made from Hefty ultimate stretch bags and now Longoria has gone with the HDX extra large black construction bags. It’s fitting though, all the plastic is a metaphor.

    • RobN says:

The one sitting, dressed in a suit, was pretty damn good.

      • Kiddo says:

Yeah, but the lips, the lips, you can’t tell how glorious they were. I found myself watching the crappiest movie he was in because I was transfixed on them.

      • mimif says:

Super dooper! Good lord, he was hot. Who’s got a working time machine? I want to go back to the not future immediately.

Kiddo do you have AMC? I don’t have TV anymore because I’m an off-grid mountain troll these days, but I grew up watching all the classics. Clara Bow was my fave!

      • Kiddo says:

I have TCM and I will fight you for Gary, during time travel. I love the old films, especially the silents, 20’s-30’s, a few 40’s, 50’s & 60’s, a couple of good ones, but not my favorite.

Adding: don’t go so off the grid, that you end up in a tiny cabin writing manifestos, though. It makes you interesting to the feds.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Wow! So I clicked on the link in the Gary Cooper story, and Lupe Velez said that he “has the biggest organ in Hollywood but not the ass to push it in well.”

        LOL!!!!!

    • Alec says:

Did you scroll down? There is a picture of him dressed as a cowboy which is amazing.

  3. RobN says:

I’m sure they missed a cliche in that trailer somewhere, but I’m not sure which one.

  4. sonalaceae (Nighty) says:

    Looks good, the movie..

  5. joan says:

Horrid writing. Every tired cliche from bad TV shows used in this trailer. And a trailer is supposed to be the highlights.

But Downey looks sharp. And Billy Bob looks hungry to tear him up.

    • Tiffany :) says:

To be fair, many times the trailer isn’t put together by the filmmakers. It is usually someone hired by the studio to cobble something together, and it doesn’t always mesh with what the directors intended.

  6. Dani says:

    RDJ will always be bangable.

  7. Hmmm says:

and he could have done that Paul Thomas Anderson movie instead …

  8. Raised Brow says:

Patrick Stewart ANYday, ALLday! Love him!!!

  9. InvaderTak says:

Factoid: Gary Cooper was supposed to play Rhett Butler. He turned it down becasue he didn’t want to be typecast.

    • Kiddo says:

      Such an overrated film IMHO.

    • Luna says:

I think GWTW is a great picture – my all time fave – and, as much as I like Cooper (one of my faves) I can’t picture anyone other than Clark Gable playing Rhett Buttler.

I’ve read the public was unanimous in wanting Gable and all other names that were floated around (including Errol Flynn) didn’t gain any traction. It was no picnic to get Gable himself, as he, like Cooper, didn’t want to be typecast. Same thing with Leslie Howard – who David O. Selznick had to “bribe” with a producting credit in another film (“Intermezzo”, starring newcomer Ingrid Bergman). Come to think of it, of the main actors, only Vivien and Olivia were enthusiastic to play in the movie, lol. Olivia was under contract to Warner Bros. and Jack Warner didn’t want to lend her to Selznick – but Olivia was sneaky and met with Warner’s wife, pleading with her to talk to her husband. She did, and that’s how Olivia got to play Melanie Hamilton.

Unfortunately for Gable and Howard, GWTW is probably the movie they’re best known for generally speaking. I wonder how they’d feel about that if they were still alive.

Sorry for the rant, I do love GWTW a lot, lol.

      • Kiddo says:

That’s okay, @Luna. Most people love the film, as do critics. I have just never felt the same about it, so you are with the majority on that.

  10. Nanea says:

Regarding the Duggar wedding: nothing screams religious extremists louder than having guns on the registry. Jesus would be so proud of them self-identifying as Christians.

I’m obsessing on the calico and the lynx loving it up

  13. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

    This is OT–
I just was watching hulu, and I just saw the trailer for the new transformers movie…and omg, you can see just how much Shia LaBeouf f-cked up. Wahlberg is the lead (how much did they have to pay him for this?)….just looked at his IMDB page–he doesn’t have any of projects lined up. At all. The last thing that shows is Fury..

‘Steven’ finally dropped the ball on his ass….

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

Did Shia not say he stopped to act? Or i confuse ?

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Never heard anything from him like that….you’d think that he’d have other things to worry about.

  14. eliza says:

I think the movie looks kinda good. So happy to see something with Det.Goran in it again. Love Vincent. Love Downey. Love Duvall.

  15. LadyMacbeth ex Hiddles F. says:

I would watch anything RDJ is in….. The trailer is not promising but.. Oh well…
