Duchess Kate says George ‘loves the water & he grabs things to splash with’

For the second day in a row, Duchess Kate, Prince William and Prince Harry are attending the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. You can see some new photos here. Kate wore a blue dress and a navy blazer. I’m just including photos from yesterday in this post. While I bitched about Kate’s stupid jeggings, I have to say… Kate and William did seem like they were enjoying their “together time.” I know everyone questions their closeness, but Kate and Will did hold hands and they seemed close and connected. I mean, I have no doubt that they spend a great deal of time apart, but when they want to put on a public show of togetherness, they do it well. I do believe that they’re trying to make another baby, especially now that Prince George is getting so big and he’s in charge of everything in their house. Kate even told some of the Commonwealth swimmers that George is taking swimming lessons:

Prince George is having a splashing time at swimming lessons, the Duchess of Cambridge has revealed. Kate told former world and Commonwealth champion swimmer James Hickman that her young son was already a fan of the water. Mr Hickman, 38, asked her if she had taken the Prince, who celebrated his first birthday recently, swimming yet.

The sportsman, from Manchester, said: “She was at the swimming last night, so I was just interested to know if she had taken George swimming. Hopefully if they can get him swimming he could be a future international swimmer. She’s been swimming with him. She said he loves the water and he grabs things to splash with. So, maybe he could be the next royal to take part in the Olympics, and if he was in swimming that would be incredible.”

Mr Hickman chatted to Kate at a reception hosted by the charity SportsAid, which gives financial support to the talented young athletes to help them reach the top and compete internationally. The Duchess is the charity’s patron.

[From The Daily Mail]

There’s more at that link, just ass-kissy stuff about how great Kate is and how she’s the best patron of SportsAid ever, which… I don’t really believe. I mean, she raises money for them by association, but she’s only interested in her charity work unless it involves some kind of gala. As for Prince George’s swimming lessons… I bet that kid is ALL SPLASH. I bet water is everywhere. He probably punched his swimming instructor in the eye and kicked the instructor’s balls. Sources said last week, I believe, that Kate has been taking George to the pool at Buckingham Palace. Is that where he gets his swim lessons?

As for Harry – he might have given us the greatest royal photobomb of all time – go here to see.

PS… BUTTONS. Also: Kate keeps track of William’s texts, I bet.

Kate needs to update her look with a Dorothy Hamill ‘do.

  2. may234 says:

She looks very healthy and well rested!

  3. don't kill me i'm french says:

Fascinating! George is a baby like the others

    • Abbott says:

But even more so? George babys like no other babies before him?

    • Enough Already says:

I know, right? So sick of hearing about the Royal Crotchfruit. And boring and plain Kate. Give us an effing break? Aren’t there other royals from other countries?

    • Xantha says:

Let’s have an Honest Moment here: George wouldn’t get this much attention and gushing and cooing over if he wasn’t Royal. He sounds like a lot of the other babies I’ve encountered/cared for in my life.

      • Belle says:

Yep. He’s a cutie… just like many other babies. He also seems active and a handful… just like many other babies. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy seeing new photos of him, but his specialness is wearing a bit thin. 😉

  4. Jac says:

    I’m picturing him with trident…

  5. Francis says:

    So overrated.

  6. Xantha says:

Cute stories though I personally think Queen Elizabeth had the best photobomb. And I really do think she did it on purpose.

    • LadyMTL says:

Yes! The Queen’s photobomb was the bomb (pun intended), I laughed so hard when I saw it. I love the fact that she can still apparently have fun with us regular folks / peasants. 😉

  7. Snazzy says:

I love Harry’s photobomb – almost as funny as the Queen’s!
(I figure Lizzie’s is funnier because it was so unexpected 🙂 )

    • ArtHistorian says:

Love Harry’s photobomb! And now I’m exceedingly curious about the Queen’s – that would be fun to see.

      • notasugarhere says:

AH, you can see it on Jayde Taylor’s twitter, twitter(dot)com/_JaydeTaylor. It is currently her profile picture.

      • Snazzy says:

It was super cute! A giant smile in a selfie of two aussie hockey players 🙂 i’m on my phone so can’t add the link – sorry!!

      • ArtHistorian says:

Tried the address – didn’t work

      • notasugarhere says:

@AH. I tried but I cannot get the live link to post here. Replace the “(dot)” with an actual “.” That should allow you to see her twitter.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Thanks, but nope – didn’t work.

      • notasugarhere says:

Shoot. Well, I just tried doing a search for “twitter” and “JaydeTaylor” (with her name as one word not two separate words) and it comes up first in the results. Hopefully that will work for you too. I would try sending another link but the live links aren’t making it through the filter for me.

  8. Audrey says:

    That Harry photobomb is excellent

  9. Chris says:

God, Harry is such a risk to my blood pressure!
Really don’t know why there’s fretting re the Cambridges…this was no arranged marriage born of dynastic desperation such as that imposed on Chazza. Speaking of whom…. I adore the almost weekly photos of himself and Camilla knocking back some local brew as they meander around the south west of England. They’d make a cat smile, those two!

  10. Christine says:

Breaking news! A baby who liked to splash? Unreal! Why isn’t this on CNN? WK would do well to be less formal, more Harry-like; even the queen doing a photobomb–that’s what they need.

    • Hahaha my thoughts exactly.

    • CuriousCole says:

George actually was on CNN the other week, they did a special half hour program on him for his birthday week. I enjoy HRH Grumpy Face, but I still can’t wrap my head around legitimate programs devoting so much time to a one year old. The baby cured of AIDS, yes, Prince George, not so much. This poor kid never had a shot at normalcy.

  11. HoustonGrl says:

All I can take away from these pictures is how rail thin she has become. Not healthy.

  12. notasugarhere says:

Flash #15 on the job? She flashed high thigh climbing out of the car in her too-short skirt today. She jumped around in the short dress and wedges doing “sport” with the kids. A simple pair of tailored capris, ballet flats, and ponytail and she’d be dressed appropriately and professionally. So simple and she still gets it wrong.

    • Belle says:

Agree… The look she had for the boat race a while back would have been perfect. Jumping around in a dress and those clod hoppers… Ugh.

  13. Reece says:

The picture, in the link, of Harry and Will going at it is adorable.

  14. Lucky Charm says:

Ok, I just saw the Daily Mail pictures – THIS is where wearing her skinny jeans would have been appropriate!!! She could have worn this dress yesterday, and worn the jeans today. Firstly this dress has a high hemline which is inappropriate for participating in sports; and secondly, the ridiculously high wedges make it awkward to squat down while talking to children without the risk of a rising skirt in the back. Unless, of course, she was going through panty-flashing withdrawals and couldn’t resist.

    • Vava says:

OMG, so true. Kate is a complete idiot. Dressed inappropriately once again. Those shoes are not for sporting events, sorry Kate. Although the dress looks OK when she’s standing up, when she bends over, sits down or starts leaping around, it is just vulgar for a so-called senior royal. Will she EVER learn? Honestly, I don’t get her. We do not need to see her thighs anymore. Save it for the privacy of your home, or on your own time please. I’m beginning to think there is something wrong with her mentally.

Physically, she is very thin. I guess that’s the way she wants it, but that dress just hangs on her. Don’t understand her desire to be so skeletal. Thank god the paps haven’t published any photos of her in a bathing suit recently. That’s all I have to say, I’ll wait for the Kate Fan Club to attack me now.

      • jenna says:

The dress DOES just hang on her – even with a padded bra she looks quite frail. When she was leaping over the 3 tins, there was no bounce or jiggle as there is with most women — and I’m referring to her breasts, not her backside!! If you are quite flat you can create the illusion of having big(ger) breasts with a heavily padded bra, but the giveaway is the complete lack of movement.

      • Vava says:

@Jenna…………..I agree – and have personal experience with the lack of bounce.

    • AM says:

I don’t believe she’s an exhibitionist, but clearly she was aware of her schedule for these two days and knew that the jeans would be more appropriate for today. Seeing the pictures today was too much.

      • Vava says:

I dunno, AM, I am beginning to think she is an exhibitionist. She loves showing off her body and it doesn’t have to be a flashing incident. Today’s inappropriate attire for playing games, leaning over just seem sort of ‘tarty’. Kate needs to grow up.

      • FLORC says:

        AM
At the very least she’s so comfortable with her body she doesn’t care is people see it or not.
There is loads of instances where she has knowingly exposed herself from her pre university days.
And personally I think she enjoys flashing and possibly the attenion it brings.

Whatever you think of it her conduct is unprofessional. She can dress however she likes in her private time and within her homes, but not when cameras are present. It’s not outrageous to expect her to dress respectfully.

    • Olenna says:

I just say the DM pics. The word simpleton comes to mind.

      • Olenna says:

Oops..Looks who’s calling someone a simpleton…me. Correction: I just saw the DM pics (not say!)

    • d gardin says:

Lucky; Waity. WORKLESS was deliberate, she trash dress in that spray on so someone could tell her to dress properly, as a RF member and representing HM with her Commonwealth countriesN GB and UK.
Today she comes out in this dress so she can bend, stoop and what not, flashing exhibition of her buitt flash. What an inappropriate trash rep for HM RF!

The Princes seems tio get enough of her, I’m not feeling her ans Willnot, I get distance growing.

I hope Prince George sink those hooves, and or throw it at her like he threw the stuffed bilby.

    • pippa middle says:

Waity workless doolittle CANNOT and P WillNot seem distant; P Harry too staying away from her.

Sophia is working to get her RF HM ready, but ill wager ma corella middlekardashion is kEeping waity straight on strategy for P Willnot.

I hope we see Princesses B*E York, they can teach Workless Waity a bit of RF proper code of wear..

P George could teach waity doolittle a note oor two from Nanny Maria dressing PG appropriately.

    • Megan says:

I don’t think she expected to take part in the activities at the UNICEF event. I think she could not resist competing with William and Harry, who were also at the event. Somehow the DM failed to notice their presence,

    • CuriousCole says:

For a while I’ve suspected Kate wears those godawful wedges to participate in sporting events for a different purpose – if she takes a public tumble she’s guaranteed about six months of “bed-rest” or some other nonsense. And since it will be during an “official” appearance she’ll get loads of sycophants praising how hard she works for her charities. Fire up the private jet to Mustique!

  15. Megan says:

Sportsaid appears to be the charity she cares about most. She did an event with them as part of the Tour de France launch. Two events in one month, recordbreaking.

  16. Elisabeth says:

I would really love to hear about other royals in Europe….instead of Kate.
