Nicky Hilton makes a citizen’s arrest outside an IHOP

Nicky Hilton looking very fashionable as she leaves a lunch part

Nicky Hilton is quite the badass. Not something I ever thought I’d say about a Hilton – male or female – but it appears to be true. Last night, for reasons completely unknown, Hilton was outside an IHOP. I’m guessing she probably just walks by there to mock the regular people who can’t afford to pour platinum syrup on their diamond-encrusted pancakes or something.

While outside the IHOP, a homeless man accosted her, and Nicky took him down. Actually, he pushed her over, and Nicky got right back up. And then placed him under a citizen’s arrest. See, totally badass.

Don’t mess with Nicky Hilton! After being pushed to the ground by a homeless person at a West Hollywood IHOP at 5 a.m. Saturday morning, the heiress made a citizen’s arrest, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirms to Usmagazine.com.

“One of our deputies was at the IHOP, having a coffee break, and noticed a waitress run outside because there was a commotion,” Whitmore tells Us.

Another deputy was then called “because there was a misdemeanor battery that involved Nicky Hilton and a man named Michael Broadhurst,” adds the spokesman.

The 50-year-old homeless person “came up behind Ms. Hilton and pushed her. She’s OK, but she was desirous of prosecution. She said, ‘I am placing you under citizen’s arrest!’”

Whitmore says it was a dual effort by both Hilton and the two deputies to arrest Broadhurst, who will appear in court April 21. TMZ.com first broke the story. “It is my understanding that she is OK,” Whitmore tells Us. “A battery is just an unwanted touching.

Is it weird that I now have the hots for Nicky Hilton a little bit?

TMZ’s original story was a little scant on the details, and didn’t mention that there was a police officer inside the IHOP. I thought Nikki actually somehow detained the guy until cops showed up, which would have been impressive. I’m not sure that declaring, ‘I am placing you under citizen’s arrest!’” actually means much when cops are twenty yards away. But, I give her credit for having balls, nonetheless. She probably didn’t know a cop was inside the IHOP, or she would have just called for them. That was a gutsy move.

According to TMZ, the guy told cops he was Nicky’s boyfriend. That probably didn’t do much to dissuade Hilton from pressing charges.

    Wow,

    She’s absolutely stunning.
I wish we were seeing more of her rather than that other one.

I don’t think it’s cool at all. Anybody else think it funny that it happened to be a homeless man this snobby rich bitch arrested? Not funny haha but the not so funny, funny.

I’m with Alecto. A homeless man, possibly a mentally ill one, came up behind her and gave her a little shove and she’s dragging the poor penniless man into court for it? For what? What’s she going to sue him for? He has no money to give her. He doesn’t even have the money to keep himself sheltered and fed, and she’s taking him to *court?*

That isn’t heroic. That’s just assholish. I know everyone has the right to not be physically accosted, and she does have the *legal* right to sue him, but jesus, is this really necessary?

  7. Cari says:

Musey: Nowhere in the story does it mention she is going to sue the guy. It’s a simple misdemeanor battery. He gets arrested, goes to jail, and has to bail himself out. I seriously doubt she’ll sue him.

Oh Wow… I think she’s just like Paris… it’ll probably come out later that she paid the homeless dude to let her “citizens arrest” him….LOL. Hahahahaha… but I kinda hope not b/c imagining Nicky getting pushed down outside a PANCAKE HOUSE by a HOMELESS person cracks me up….omg this made my day. Awesome.

Don’t be surprised if within 7-14 days we learn he is suing her for millions.

If she actually said “citizen’s arrest”, then she was totally hammered, because no one ever seriously says that. Remember the final few scenes in the Burbs???

Also, are those shoes she is wearing nice looking? I just think they’re hideous.

And to the people calling her a bitch, I have a negative personal worth (student loans) and I can tell you that if a homeless man knocked me down, you can be damn sure I would get the cops involved. That’s scary and if he is mentally ill, he could seriously injure someone else.

  11. I only hang around outside of IHOPs when I’m looking to score more than just pancakes.

I wonder how often Nicky hangs out around iconic restaurants . . . as opposed to how long she hangs out inside of them. You know, eating.

I don’t care if he was homeless and mentally ill or a genius related to the Saudi royal family!

He assaulted her and she had every right to defend herself and press charges.

If the man IS unstable, then he needs to be removed from the streets. If he’s not, then he’s a criminal who put his hands on a woman and shoved her to the ground.

God, what is wrong with people?

  14. Aspen says:

I tell you what…next time a crazy homeless man shoves YOU to the ground, you can be “heroic” and just take the violence and tell anyone who tries to help that you don’t mind being physically assaulted because the “poor man” was homeless. In fact, you can give your attacker access to all your bank accounts and set him up in your house.

That way, balance will be restored.

The rest of us will applaud Miss Hilton for having the gumption to react with reason and excellent self-defense when a man assaulted her on the street.

Did he really push her or just stumble into her?

I’m sorry for having to retain a shred of doubt but remember any of the videos of her sister going on and on, being rude and racist and such? Yeah. Same womb spit this woman out and I highly doubt Nicki is much different, even if she is the quieter one.

You can’t make a citizen arrest expcept in the case of a felony. She’s lucky she didn’t get a @$$ whooped by the crazy homeless dude. What i was saying was that with the hole economy in the pooper this self entilted wench who’s never known a day of uncertianty in her life better get used to the down and outta their luck hating on her. I wouldn’t put it past her to have brought it upon herself.

For the very first time, I am saying something positive about a Hilton…Good for her!

I don’t care how rich or famous you are, no one has a right to put their hands on you. If she felt threatened (and who wouldn’t?) she had every right to defend herself. And yes, she has not only a right but an obligation to prosecute him. Who’s to say the next person he victimizes will be able to defend herself?

  22. gg says:

Other than the fact that the pantsless sheriff shirt makes her look more like Barney Fife, if some stranger on the street pushes you and you fall down, you should have the cops check that person out to make sure he’s not more dangerous than just pushing women off their high heels.

It’s still assault, any color you want to paint it.

  24. okline says:

I do not condone the ‘pushing to the ground’ piece at all, but i’ve seen and heard horror stories of celebrities ‘bending the truth’ to implicate less fortunate people.

I’m interested in the whole story. Did the man tap her on the shoulder and ask for money, and she provoked him with some rude comment (i still do not condone the violence if it took place though)?

I read this story and cant help but wonder the reason a homeless guy would push over a celebrity. How does a homeless guy know she is a ‘celebrity’? Was he accosting other IHOP patrons? A policeman just happened to be there at the same time?

This whole story smells kinda fishy.

  25. Sunny says:

Okline, the same reason a homeless man in New York would bash an innocent pedestrian in the head with a brick, killing her.
    Probably mentally ill.
I don’t get all the “She’s rich, she deserved it” comments, while casting this likely schizophrenic as some kind of poverty-endowed saint. It’s weird.
But I guess that’s jealousy and hate for you, they don’t have to make sense, just make the hater feel better.

    Well said, Dovesgate!

She may be the quieter one but this story sounds a little fishy so I’m not gonna jump on the bandwagon with the “good for her” wishes and “hoorahs” just yet!

No one deserves to be accosted in any way but something just seems a little off about this story…

Hopefully we’ll hear more news soon to find out who the real victim was…
