Jennifer Aniston on Justin: ‘He is a beautiful equalizer, he’s quite special’

FFN_Cake_Prem_GGFF_090814_51524985

I keep forgetting that Jennifer Aniston reprised her role as a sex-addicted dentist in Horrible Bosses 2. It comes out November 26th and I guess the LA press junket was this past weekend. So Jennifer did some sit-down interviews for the film, in between being “extremely affectionate” with Justin Theroux’s eyebrows at the Governors Awards. So, Jennifer sat down with Access Hollywood for her first interview for HB2. What does Jennifer have to say? Rainbows and happiness and coming into her body and joy and wonder and Justin Theroux, of course.

At 45, Jennifer Aniston is feeling better than ever. In a new interview with Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez, the stunning star said she is more comfortable in her own skin at this point her life than she’s been in the past.

“Everything I’ve learned, everything… life’s wonderful gifts, roadblocks, joys, ups, downs, everything is just – it’s true, youth is wasted on the young. There’s no doubt about it,” Jennifer told Liz at the “Horrible Bosses 2” junket in Los Angeles on Sunday. “I look at all of my girlfriends and friends, and I think we’re all growing and becoming more and more in our bodies.”

“Do you feel more confident now than ever?” Liz asked. “Yeah, for sure,” Jennifer replied, adding, “100 percent.”

Part of her confidence comes from the balance she’s been able to achieve in her personal and professional life, something Jen said her fiancé, Justin Theroux, helps provide.

“He is a beautiful equalizer. He’s a really beautiful, wonderful partner, yes,” she said of Justin, whom she got engaged to in August 2012. “He’s quite special.”

With tabloids constantly reporting the couple has secretly married (or broken up – depends on the day!), is the actress annoyed by all of the media attention on her relationship?

“I think we’re just so uninteresting, we don’t do anything, that there’s no real narrative other than that to sort of slap onto us,” she said. “Then, once we do [marry], then it’s gonna be –well, it [already] is the babies. I mean, it’s comical!”

Between her relationship with Justin and the fun she’s having in her career with “Horrible Bosses 2” and her role in “Cake” (which is already earning award buzz), Jennifer said she’s having a great time. “It’s absolutely one of the happiest times in my life,” she said.

[From Access Hollywood]

Sigh… she’s not horrible in this interview, she hits all of her talking points without sounding like a robot and I’m happy that she didn’t try to pull some “I’m not going to talk about my personal life” crap. But what I always say about Aniston is still true – it’s like she never wants to own up to how much she’s participated in creating her Miss Lonelyhearts, Thinking About Babies tabloid persona.

    *that is all*

  2. Abbott says:

    She makes me sad.

  3. Artemis says:

It’s amazing how she can look great with the right lighting and then…you have the pap shots. She’s not ugly but damn she can look harsh sometimes yikes. I think her blonde hair is not doing her any favours, show us dem Greek genes sis!
She’s aging well with subtle work though. Unlike her BFF Ms. Cox.

    • minx says:

She needs to ditch that center-parted straight highlighted hair. It’s the same look she’s had for 20 years. And dial back on the tanning.

      • Artemis says:

Mm, I liked the long bob and the wavy beach curls. She can rock that. It helps soften some of her harsh features. But what really does it is the colour. Much like Madonna they seem to think that blonde suits them better but their natural hair colour makes them look younger and it looks 10x better. Basically, they’re idiots.

    • DenG says:

In broad daylight she looks rough. It’s not just her Aveeno ads that are ridiculous with the “naturally beautiful” tag and the airbrushing beyond belief, but plenty of other celebrities as well.

      • Artemis says:

I think it’s the smoking and drinking with those people. And drugs. Sure they ‘eat clean’ and work their asses of at the gym but you gotta suppress the hunger somehow amirite? And then leave the food calories for the booze calories when they go out.

Most people don’t have the resources these rich people have and still with all their money, their doesn’t look any better than a ‘normal’ person’s. It’s sad really.

      • siri says:

@Artemis: You are so right about this. Basically, they overdo the exercise/smoothie thing in exchange for the ‘recreational’ pot&drink. To that, sunbathing. If we would see these people in person at a supermarket, we might be surprised at how worn they look. Although THEY do have the means to take care of their health, skin etc. with all the hightech solutions out there. The only thing we ever see is photoshop, and the results of hours in a stylist’s chair. I actually believe a lot of ‘normal’ folks their age look fresher.

“I think we’re just so uninteresting”.
    Yep, nailed it!

  5. AG-UK says:

I never follow her/him but I have to admit I kind of like that show that he is in, only just started on this side of the pond.

  6. minx says:

    Meh.
If Brad Pitt hadn’t married her she’d be playing the mother on some CBS comedy.

    • Dany says:

agree. She would still be on television. She has great talent for comedy and TV suits her.

But Brad Pitt married her and he wanted to marry Goop till she dumped him. So what does that say about Pitt? Funny that all like to hate his “horrible” exes but no one questions his character. He chose these women, he loved them, he wanted a family with them…

      • minx says:

I meant it more from the angle that she was a TV actor who married an A list movie star, gaining valuable exposure.

      • moot says:

True about Pitt. But look where he ended up. It’s not like he didn’t wake up at some point and realise it was all going nowhere fast. He even said that numerous times in interviews. He was a lost boy in Hollywood for a long time. Can you say that about him in the last 10 years? Not so much.

Some people have the ability to change, to wake up and realise there’s a deadline looming and there’s only one chance to make something happen in the lifetime they’ve got. I think he’s completely turned his life around since Aniston.

But Aniston? Not so much. Still on the same treadmill after 10 years.

    • maddelina says:

I disagree. I still think Aniston would be where she is now. She works her butt off. Pitt’s career was beginning to go south despite being in some good movies. Angelina’s was going nowhere fast. If the triangle hadn’t happened Pitt still may have got it together eventually but I don’t think Angie would be where she is today. In my opinion she’s a crap actress andd I’ve yet to see her in anything where I was lost in the character she was portraying. Maybe her strength is behind the camera.

  7. Chris2 says:

She seems to have trouble saying anything really meaningful about JT….about kindness, or humour, for example.
I guess by ‘equaliser’ she intends to convey a complementary aspect, that they balance each other…..but it made me immediately think ‘handgun’….just like his sweet little necklace!

  8. Kim1 says:

WTH is a beautiful equalizer? Is it related to his beautiful eyeballs?

I wish one reporter would ask her about her relationship with her future in laws.”Will you see them for Thanksgiving or Christmas? “His parents are divorced and have remarried so that is two sets of in-laws they could spend time with.

    • kendra says:

Am I the only one that thinks it is strange that a couple that has been engaged two years never spends holidays , vacations , birthdays with family or just visit family. When is Justin’s family going to meet Jennifer.

  9. Bee says:

    Someone found this video.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmYUW_qRBAI&feature=youtu.be

Not only is she annoying, she also says Brad at 1:10 when talking about stories about her! Married, not married, BRAD, baby ……A decade later………

  10. Emma - the JP Lover says:

Yep, Jen, I buy it … for sure. That reminds me, I haven’t watched “Valley Girl” in ages. 🙂

My question is this: Isn’t she the least bit embarrassed about the Industry knowing how “Cake” managed to get distributed ‘for a week’ during Awards Review Season? A more interesting question for her would have been how she managed to get “Cake” distributed after everyone passed on the film at TIFF.

But you have to admire her shameless campaign for Oscar as many have done before her.

    • Tilly says:

i would love for someone to ask her about that! Ask her about how no one wanted to buy it at TIFF that she had the film’s own producers create a distribution arm just to get it distributed for a qualify run. How it feels to be so desperate to distribute a film obviously not good enough for not even the smallest studios to buy.

Maybe next time she feels the need to be empowered without makeup she should make a film distributors actually want to buy!

  11. DenG says:

Actresses and other celebrities of a “certain age” trot out the I’m-comfortable-in-my-skin declaration. Yes, I’d be comfortable in my skin with numerous and costly cosmetic enhancements. Otherwise, it’s a big old cliche.

  12. Jayna says:

I am so freakin’ tired of her overtanning. Look back at her earlier Friends days. She didn’t have an orange face. She had either no tan or that California sunkissed golden tan, not this overtanning, orange/dark face. Maybe it’s just she’s getting older and it’s just not flattering. But her face is always very dark orangy, not a sunnier golden tan color like years before.

  13. Georganna says:

She needs to STOP with the ‘expressions’. She can’t move her face.

  14. Jayna says:

Jennifer Anison , 1997 before her dark orangy look.

  15. moot says:

“I think we’re just so uninteresting, we don’t do anything, that there’s no real narrative…”

This. Even Aniston thinks there’s nothing going on here. I think this says everything about why Brad Pitt left that situation and moved where the forward action was.

  16. Maya says:

It seems to me that Jennifer is one of those people who needs someone in their lives to look after them.

She thanked Brad for holding her up, she says she needs her goddess circle to function and now she says Justin is the one who is her equaliser.

She seems to be one of those people who is surrounded by yes people and people to take care of her. Basically an adult version of Justin Bieber.

PS: if Jennifer wants to be taken serious then she has to stop stripping of clothes in her movies. As a famous and respected critic once said about her – taking clothes off in your 20s is tradition but in your 40s it’s desperation.

    • Artemis says:

Are Julianne Moore (crying and nudity are a common theme), Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet also desperate? Or what about Jolie?
Did he also discuss men like Ewan McGregor? Seems to me like that quote was sexist. And misinformed since Aniston doesn’t even show that much skin in comparison to my other examples. There were bushes, breasts and package. When did Aniston show off her breasts film after film?

Also, that ‘famous and respected critic’ didn’t criticise the roles that were available for those women and why the nudity was part of the script (which wasn’t written by them) in the first place. Why are they called out but the writers and directors are left alone?

      • FingerBinger says:

Kathy Bates has gotten naked. She was in her 50’s when she did About Schmidt. I don’t see her as a desperate actress.

      • Artemis says:

        @Fingerbinger
Kathy Bates remains queen. That critic remains shit 🙂

I’m all for older nudity tbh, I don’t know why an older body isn’t allowed to be shown. Besides, there’s always criticism, even when the bodies are ‘hot and young’ so women can’t win anyway.

I’m sure there are other actresses, I know French films have no issue with nudity for 40+ actresses. A lot of European films actually. It’s nice to see diversity. And men also get naked more. This is why American film is inferior to European cinema (imo). Or maybe I’m just a pervert lol.

        @Maya
And also, if you’re going to go after female nudity as a Jolie fan you better get ready to be read like a tealeaf because that woman is naked in half of her movies. Ain’t nobody calling her desperate so don’t come on a JA thread and throw some sexism around. Ain’t gonna fly.

  17. Claudia says:

So let me get this straight. There is a whole subsection of society out there that has divided itself into Jolie vs. Anistan fans and haters? HAHAHAHA. The world is a strange place.

Ps. Maya your comment was definitely anti-woman. I hope you’ll think about reforming your views.

    • Maya says:

Actually I don’t think my comment is anti – woman – it’s anti nudity.

Plus I have done and doing enough for women at workplace and private life to know that I am a feminist. I don’t need to justify anything for anyone.

  18. Longhorn says:

I think she looks great for 45. It always amuses me when people compare her recent looks to when she was in her twenties. People age. Even celebrities.

  19. Void says:

The smoking is really starting to show in her voice. She looks all right in photos but you can see the puffiness coming out. @Jayna thanks for the link. I’d forgotten how petite and cute she was, once upon a time. This bronzed Miami grandmother look does not suit her and she needs to quit the ciggies asap. She seems bored and unhappy with JT.

And she’ll never get over Brad. For her – she had a mother who modelled for a living and who told her to put her face on in the mornings (apply make up) – hooking Brad Pitt was, for her, like the nerdy plain girl landing the homecoming king/popular jock in high school.

And her limited range in terms of acting is probably due to the fact she’s so self-conscious about her so-called mannish face that she comes across as being very stiff even while doing comedy.

    • shixappeal says:

should I ever be Jennifer Aniston I would just use Justin as a leaping off point for the much hotter (and taller) Louis of the same name. I really think I saw him at the airport in Hoh Chi Min City but could have been wrong. I had been watching his documentaries pretty much non stop all of my stay in Thailand (via Viet Nam)

  20. neer says:

Why does she talk like this?

It seems using the right words, expressions and formulating good sentences or replies is NOT her thing.
