Josh Hartnett: renting a house for Penelope or moving on?

Josh Hartnett and Penelope Cruz have been linked together for just a few weeks. The two were seen out on a romantic date and making out at a bar in New York about two weeks ago. They also took a romantic trip to Turks and Caicos together in April.

Star Magazine reports that Josh is renting a mansion in the Hamptons so that he can impress Penelope:

Penelope Cruz, 33, is scheduled to be in Spain this summer to work on Woody Allen’s latest film project, but her boyfriend of over a month, Josh Hartnett, 28, has found a surefire way to keep their romance hot: Rent a love nest in the tony Hamptons! “He’s rolling out a sandy carpet to try and sweep her off her feet!” an insider tells Star exclusively. “If it means breaking the bank to secure on e of the most impressive homes in the snazziest neighborhoods, he’ll do it.”

[Hartnett] is rumored to be looking at an estate near Steven Spielberg’s mansion.

I bet all Star knows is that Hartnett wants to rent a house in the Hamptons, not that he’s doing it specifically for Penelope.

Cruz and Hartnett might be over already, because the NY Daily News said there was a blonde sitting on his lap at a bar last week. Maybe there just weren’t any chairs available.

We’ll have to see what turns out for these two, but I doubt they’ll settle down into rented summer bliss anytime soon.
