You’re looking at Kendall Jenner’s new ads for Calvin Klein’s #mycalvin denim line. They slicked down Kendall’s hair, which makes her look waify. CK must want to channel some Kate Moss nostalgia with these ads. Is it working? Kendall sat down with Vogue to talk about this shoot. She has always looked up to Kate and thinks she resembles her idol much more than, say, Brooke Shields. Physically, she is more like Kate, but Kendall has even more of an overbearing stage mom than Brooke had. Kendall talks about others stuff too, including paparazzi and tips for taking belfies:
Is she a Kate or a Brooke? “Kate Moss I guess. She’s someone I’ve always looked up to.”
On the Calvin denim shoot: “I mean the whole day was rainy. When it rains, I have good energy, I’m in a good mood.”
Have the paps helped her career? “Paparazzi pictures? No, those definitely did not help. Do the paparazzi help anything? But being in front of the camera, yes; building your own self-confidence.”
She’s critical of her pap photos: “Yeah, don’t we all do that? See pictures of ourselves and be like, I did not look like that in person. I swear I didn’t look like that.”
Her ideal denim: “For me personally, I think high-waisted or midi-rise always works. Something that’s tight around my butt and lifts it.”
How to take a good belfie: “I’ve never heard of belfie, but I’ve definitely taken a couple of butt selfies. You gotta know your own angles. And maybe [shoot it from] the side, so you can make your butt look all cute.”

I find it hard to believe that any sister of Kim Kardashian hasn’t heard the word “belfie.” Didn’t Kim invent the belfie as we know it? Perhaps Kendall’s been insulated from that talk. She keeps a runway model physique, so Kendall has no need for tush augmentation. She may be the last non-Pinocchio butt standing.
Back to these ads. Kendall looks bummed out, but that’s probably the look CK was going for. The clothes are pretty awful.

Looked up to what exactly with Kate? No doubt she was/is an amazing model, but she was a huge coke head and drunk back in the day. Not to mention her messy relationships.
Kendall, to me, is a Brooke all the way.
She probably means someone that will have longevity in the fashion world and influence not only many fashion designers, but also other artists in other art forms and become a pop icon, which is what Kate has done.
But, I also think she more Brooke than Kate. There is nothing edgy about this girl and she’s really not the perfect blank canvas that easily translate what the designer is trying to convey while also bring her own air of mystery like Kate.

and she certainly didn’t go running to the press to do interviews left and right like this child, either.
Kate may be this and that but she is a self made millionaire, she is professional and she never used paparazzi or media in general to get sympathy. Kate is a legend.
This poor KKK girl should just realize that her fame came from a sex tape. So if she wants to be a real person, she should try getting some education.
Without make up, she must be the plainest person ever. Unless she smiles, her smile is beautiful. And I don’t get Kate Moss’s hype.

She was hired because she is well recognized. As a model, I certainly don’t get it. She’s very 17 magazine, and is indistinguishable from the next girl.
Give me a break. She’s a very good looking girl with an instantly recognizable face. No doubt her family name and connections got her hooked up to the fashion world, but she’s not at all out of place *cough cough Ivanka Trump cough*
With you on this one. She’s still very young and it shows when she open’s her mouth, but I think she may be the one Kardashian who grows up with some class. I hope she can distance herself from them. As for her looks, she is a beautiful girl and very photogenic with or without makeup. Actually, all the Kardashian women are lovely, just so so tacky.

I think Kendall is gorgeous and I totally get her being a model and I feel that with her being from a wealthy family in LA, she would’ve been discovered even if her sisters weren’t super famous because she has that long body that they look for. I will say this though – sometimes I feel like Kendall is too pretty for couture. We see models like Adriana Lima doing couture, but her face and her look is so versatile, and I don’t think Kendall has that versatility. As you said, her face is very recognizable, but that might hinder her career a bit. I think Kendall is a Brooke over a Kate; Kate was “ugly-pretty,” she could look like a strung out junkie or an average girl; Brooke was a “prettier” kind of model and I think Kendall is much more like that because even when they try to make Kendall look more “gritty” or even “ugly,” she still looks like a pretty girl and remains recognizable.
Are you kidding, Michelle? Adriana is a good commercial model, but she is not a high fashion model. She doesn’t look like a high fashion model (face and especially the body). Adriana looked so bad on the catwalk (Balmain) but Kendall didn’t look so bad…
I agree Josephine – I don’t see anything special here unless we’re comparing her to her sisters but really, is that where the bar is being set? She’s pretty but not prettier than the average pretty girl and just doesn’t have that special super model something for the longevity she’s wanting.
Maybe as she gets older… I mean, even though she’s removed from the family with her career now, when it inevitably slows down you know they’ll probably have an influence and that’s when the surgeries will start.

Wow SOMEONE sounds totes jealous! Kendall is a real beauty, inside and out. She’s also incredibly well traveled and sophisticated for a girl of her age. Most young women I know either want to be her or just like her. She’s more of a role model than that drug skank Kate Mass could ever be LOL! Lol! You sound like a child, so I’ll be kind. I’m only jealous of Ms. Moss. As I stated above, she isn’t for everyone, but you cannot deny that her work is extremely diverse. Yes, she partied hard, but she was also extremely professional, and is still relevant after 25 years. Kate got her sh*t together, married an amazing musician, and is still an in demand model. If this bland girl is around 20 years from now, I’ll happily eat my words.
To understand that she has millions of followers, but that equate to automatic sales. I find it hard to believe that teens will go and buy Calvin klein now that Kendall is their model.

I would say that in being a model, she is more Kate, because she knows how to model in many forums. She has been translating to a lot of different things. Looks wise though, she is more Brooke. Does that make sense?
IMHO her looks are very ordinary but her figure is a models body. Her sisters Kim and Kylie are beautiful but they are not built like models. Kate Moss and Brooke Sheilds were much prettier.

Kendall is pretty for Sure but she always looks like shes wearing makeup. That’s the difference with her to me. I don’t mind her campaign at all, but it seems a different direction because the look of Calvin Klein is usually more natural looking in my opinion.
