Kristen Stewart on the ‘insane media’: ‘No one knows about that more than me’

Here are some assorted photos of Kristen Stewart leaving LA over the weekend, plus some pics of K-Stew and her girlfriend Alicia Cargile from two weekends ago (I just never got around to publishing those). Can I just say? I’m really enjoying Kristen’s hair these days. She chopped it off last year and she’s been growing out some shaggy transition styles for the past few months and it looks SO cute. Anyway, Kristen is still giving interviews about her Cesar-Award-winning performance in Clouds of Sils Maria. She spoke to the Associated Press a few days ago about some of her dialogue about how her character reads celebrity gossip online.

Kristen Stewart has moved on from Twilight, and the actress’ role in Clouds of Sils Maria gives her an opportunity to mock gently the tabloid chaos that surrounded her at the height of the blockbuster franchise’s popularity. Telling the Associated Press about a scene in which her Hollywood assistant character casually reads gossipy stories about a starlet, Stewart says, “I had to seriously harness the glee that was exploding across my face when I was saying some of those lines. I don’t think that’s what the movie is fully about. It’s not a commentary about the insane nature of the media in the States, especially. But no one knows about that more than me.”

Stewart is currently in the midst of a long series of smaller, independent roles, including her award-winning performance in Clouds of Sils Maria. “I’m having more fun now than I ever have,” she says. “These movies go by (she snaps her fingers). We made Camp X-Ray in 20 days. It’s just better when it’s faster.”

And it’s a lot different than the experience of making the Twilight films, which came with built-in fans and their expectations. “Because of the lack of expectation of any of these [more recent] movies, there were no moments that people had read in a book that were the most important thing in their lives,” explains Stewart. “I really let go.”

The interviewer notes that Stewart nods when it’s suggested Twilight is now far from her thoughts. She says, “Completely. I only have to think about that when someone asks me.”

[From Gossip Cop]

She always just takes it a touch too far. “No one knows about that more than me”?? Jennifer Aniston would beg to differ. As would Angelina Jolie. And John Travolta, Julia Roberts and Oprah Winfrey. And Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and the Kardashians. Granted, Kristen was a tabloid-cover fixture for several years and if she had said “It was really bad for me and so many other celebrities,” there would be no problem.

Oh yes…poor you, Kristen Stewart. How you suffer for your art…

    Just shut up already.

    • It is what it is says:

      LOL Jules !!

    • Snazzy says:

No kidding ! She just needs to be thankful for what she has instead of being such a self centered twit

    • CTgirl says:

The poor little special snowflake is stamping her foot in an effort to get the great unwashed masses to feel her pain. It’s not working.

  2. Kara says:

hm how about non celebs that are pulled into it because someone close to them died in an accident? or how relatives of a shooter are harrassed etc etc.
they cant afford lawyers and big mansions and dont get paid incredible amounts of money for one facial expression.
    how about you ask them?

Kristen should neither have entered a PR Relationship nor publicly cheated on a man thats adored by lots of women around the world. both things were her own choices and are the main causes for her to be a tabloid fixture.

also it comes with the job, does she think she gets paid so much for saying a couple of lines? if you do a romantic movie people will get interested in your love life, someone should tell her that.

  3. ANNE says:

Ugh, she’s awful. Her PR team is clearly trying to play the victim card. “Poor me, I suffered so much!” She reminds me of Aniston.

    • Josephine says:

I get the sense that she never listens to her PR team, or doesn’t have one. I think she is so completely self-absorbed and immature that she says whatever she wants to say, and doesn’t have the foresight, maturity or common sense to think through the consequences. Every time she opens her mouth, she reaffirms the fact that she is mentally and emotionally stuck at thirteen or fourteen years old.

  4. Helo says:

Shitty actress with a shitty attitude.

    NEXT!…

  5. NewWester says:

She would be lots of fun at a dinner party “eye roll”

  6. MANDY says:

She complains about celebrity culture but then runs to People mag to comment on her ex-boyfriend’s engagement. Her ex never said anything about her affair or her current lover. She’s trashy and anyone who believes what she says is an idiot.

  7. MANDY says:

There was an article yersterday on their website about how she didn’t care about his engagement. Basically, it was a PR piece promoting her. She has a movie coming out soon.

    • Anname says:

I really try not to comment on Kristen articles since I am a Rob fan and don’t wish to feed the fan war, but that People piece yesterday really crossed a line for me. She (her PR team) is totally using Rob’s potential engagement to cast herself as victim and promote herself. Especially after she dragged him into her tabloid mess in 2012, and he was such a gentlemen to her, and never tried to shade her or promote himself through that when he so easily could have. Rob hasn’t even commented on his own engagement, but Kristen thinks it appropriate to put an article in People about how it affects her (and list every movie she has ever been in)?

      • ALEX says:

Seriously? What a shitty thing to do! He dumped her years ago. She’s probably still bitter.

      • Anname says:

I don’t think she is bitter, I think she is willing to use him to get what she wants. It’s so ironic too, because she claims how much she hates the whole Hollywood game and is above it all and some sort of rebel, but she is playing the game as hard as anyone now, she wants the glory and the attention and all the awards. And if she has to throw Rob under the bus, so be it. It bugs me because he was so careful not to do that to her these past 3 years.

      • maybeiamcrazy says:

Hating the “Hollywood game” is her Hollywood game. So it isn’t that suprising.

  8. klein says:

God there’s so much fuss about people who basically play dressing up and pretending for a living.

Good TV and film is a great thing so acting isn’t completely without value for society. And it’s difficult to find work for many people so I appreciate there are hardships attached, but this girl has already had more success than her skills deserve so I she should quit whining and stop doing it if it’s such a struggle for her. There’s plenty of competent actresses waiting for their chance.

  9. Ameoba says:

I’m sooo over her. Never thought much of her in Twilight. I think even Twilight fans knew the movie was crap and the acting mediocre. It was just the reel to real romance between the attractive leads that sold it to the die-hards who look for romance everywhere – teens, etc. If it wasn’t for your romance Kristen, you wouldn’t have all this media attention. You get your endorsements and all because of this. Don’t trash. Just chill, girl.

  10. PunkyMomma says:

How this mediocre actress continues to land roles in movies is beyond me. And that Cesar was bought and paid for her by Chanel.

  11. shannon says:

cute hair. but I really wish she would wash it.

  12. ALEX says:

No one feels more than Kstew .
No one hurts more than Kstew.
    She’s, like, so special guyzz!

  13. Lilacflowers says:

Kristen, Monica Lewinsky would like to speak with you.

  14. Ana says:

“Girlfriend”? I don’t think it’s right to call Alicia that unless, if and when Kristen decides to do so herself. I mean if she publicly does so.

    • ALEX says:

Why not? Speculation over straight celebs should be allowed but gay celebs get a pass? If people want equality, then gay and straight celebs should be treated the same way. Also, believe me that point of view is shared by a lot of gay people.

      • Ana says:

She hasn’t even come out as gay. That’s exactly my point. No one should be outed or labeled as gay, no matter how obvious it is, until they decide to do so. Is their right.

Btw I am 100% prom LGTBI rights, if it sounds like the opposite.

    • Kitten says:

I was absolutely about to comment about how she and her girlfriend are really cute together.

I’m pretty sure that if Kristen was somehow terrified about the speculation, then she wouldn’t look so comfortable being papped with her friend/girlfriend.

      • Ana says:

Well if they are I agree. They look cute and they seem happy. I agree with everything you’ve said. Although I still by what I said initially.

  15. Brittney B says:

Eh… I think it was just a figure of speech. I’d cut her some slack on the whole “she thinks she has it worse than [insert A-list tabloid fixture here]” thing.

Like… when a friend’s apologizing profusely for her anxiety issues at a party, and I say, “trust me, no one understands more than me; it’s not your fault.” Of COURSE there are other people with worse anxiety than me. It’s just an expression to convey the fact that I can really, really relate.

And when it comes to this subject, Kristen’s among a handful of human beings on the planet who DO truly understand how bad it can get. She might not have the same level of notoriety as the names you listed, but we don’t know what it was like to become a young woman with hordes of strange, invasive men following our every move.

  16. Tig says:

I wonder how she feels cashing the checks that all those fans who bought tix to the movies based on those books? Bet she doesn’t feel constrained then. Can’t wait till her press tour for the Woody Allen movie- assuming it happens.

  17. Goats on the Roof says:

Kristen has a major case of Special Snowflake Syndrome. No one feels as much as she does, no one goes through as much as she does, no one is as real as she is…She’s exhausting, and I can’t imagine she’s fun to be around.

    • Algernon says:

No one’s slick as Gaston, no one’s quick as Gaston, no one’s neck’s as incredibly thick as Gaston’s…

Sorry, I couldn’t help but read your comment to the tune of that song!

  18. CL says:

I think Princess Diana knows a bit more than you do, KStew.

  19. Astrid says:

She’s a greasy mess with odd clothing choices. Not a fan of her style or acting

  20. meme says:

    get over yourself honey.

  21. FishBeard says:

I don’t really understand what the fuss is about. All she stated was that she knows quite a bit about the American media, which she definitely does. Whatever people think of her she was the focus of media scrutiny for years as a young woman, intensely more so than her peers. I don’t think she came off as self-pitying whatsoever, just self aware.

    • FingerBinger says:

Kristen is one of those celebrities that rubs people the wrong. She doesn’t bother me but she seems to get under people’s skin.

    • Elly says:

“No one knows about that more than me” is just your everyday phrase. Everyone says it.

and yeah, i mean this girl/woman had to deal with the insane twihards and the media hunting her. She has every right to speak so.

Here on Celebitchy people like to hate her with a passion so every word this girl says means she is full of it blahblah.

    • I Choose Me says:

Yep. I really didn’t think she’d get crapped on for that statement because given the insane levels of scrutiny during the height of Twilight, she absolutely knows what she’s talking about. But I guess I underestimated just how much people dislike her.

  22. Cindy says:

Kristen makes me feel like I’ve taken crazy pills because….she can’t act. At all. Not even a little. But other actors and critics rave about her. What are they seeing that I’m not?

    • Bob Loblaw says:

I’ve only seen one of her movies, Snow White & the Huntsman, she’s very photogenic, the camera loves her but I agree her acting was not good.

  23. Helo says:

Yeah, no, Stewart’s “acting” both sucks and blows. I read recently where Nick Hoult (aka Hoult the Dolt) called Stewart a “true artist”…I laughed out loud and thought, no wonder Jennifer Lawrence dumped you.

  24. Lydia says:

Now she should be happy that she isn’t relevant like before. Now there are many young actresses more famous and respected than her
