Prince William says Charlotte is ‘keeping him up’ & George ‘never stops moving’

wenn22511028

Here are some additional photos from Prince William’s appearance yesterday to meet the England’s women’s football team on their way to the World Cup. I covered some of these photos yesterday, where we discussed the new rumor that Duchess Kate is a “prickly princess” and William’s courtiers are trying to convince her to do more work.

Anyway, the football team gave William a gift for Princess Charlotte – a little football jersey with her name! Which is adorable. The captain of the team, Steph Houghton, told People Mag that the ladies asked William about his children and whether Charlotte was keeping them up all night: “He was saying he’s obviously really enjoying being a father and Princess Charlotte is actually keeping him up – and probably why his eyes are looking a little bit tired.” William also told the ladies that George will probably be playing football soon enough because George “never stops moving.” What do you want to bet that George is having some issues with no longer being the most important person in the house?

As for Kate and her “prickly princess” ways, Us Weekly says that Pippa Middleton has arranged for Kate to get something special in the country: “Pippa arranged to have fresh juices delivered to Kate every three days. It was a surprise treat. Kate used to blend her own juices and this is much easier.” Juices as in smoothies, which Kate is said to love. A source tells Us Weekly that Kate is not dieting (BS) but “She just enjoys green juice in the morning. It’s Kate’s go-to for an extra boost.” Kate is also a devotee of local organic produce, which she shops for herself at a small farm stand called Back to the Garden. And if you believe that Kate is shopping for her own organic produce right now, bless your heart.

Now we see why William is working! Trying to get out of the house.

Green juice is the jam, especially after baby. I practically lived off it for months. An easy little boost when you can’t have coffee.

    • Sayrah says:

Haha, my husband and I drew straws on who got to do the grocery shopping to get out of the house when our kids were really little.

  2. Deedee says:

I guess those night nurses and nannies are making a lot of noise stumbling around the mansion while they are taking care of Charlotte and George under Carole’s orders.

  3. Shambles says:

“He was saying he’s obviously really enjoying being a father and Princess Charlotte is actually keeping him up – and probably why his eyes are looking a little bit tired.”

Or maybe… His eyes are looking tired because he’s been toking up with Brad and the Rent Boys?!?!?!?

    I’m sorry. I’ll stop now.

    *twitches*

  4. Brittney B says:

“Kate used to blend her own juices and this is much easier.”

Much easier than using the kitchen that she HAD to have? If I ripped out an insanely gorgeous kitchen because I was so particular about my food prep, the only way I could possibly justify it would be to use it as often as possible. Not rely on deliveries that “saved time”. THESE PEOPLE

    • FLORC says:

Or much easier than having one of the chefs on staff there to make them? And before anyone says they don’t have a staff they do. The staff just isn’t paid for by them so it’s not called their staff.

And I wonder if the juices were gifted to Pippa to gift to Kate for publicity? It wouldn’t be the 1st or 2nd or 5th times this has happened.

      • Brittney B says:

I didn’t even think about that… if it’s true and we’re finding out about it, then it must be an endorsement of some kind.

And yes, I’d be shocked if she’s cleaned or cooked anything since getting married. Not that women should *have* to do these things… my partner and I split the burden equally. It’s just stupid to pretend otherwise when you’re living in a state of perpetual indulgence.

    • Hazel says:

      Excellent point!

  5. ickythump says:

What, now she cant even be bothered making a feckin smoothie? FFS.

  6. Megan says:

The worst part of making juice is the clean up of the juicer… I’m assuming kate doesn’t do that… How is getting juice delivered any different than the housekeeper who isn’t a chef making it for her and handing it to her?!

    • lisa says:

i put hot soapy water in the blender and turn it on. BAM

      • Angel says:

juicer is way harder, like with a little brush and tiny corners full of gunk. So quick to make fresh juice, so long to clean the juicer:)

      • lisa says:

i dont have that problem with my vitamix. i make green juice every day for breakfast.

  7. ShazBot says:

Congratulations! You have a baby and a toddler. You are totally unique and nobody has ever done this before you ever.

    • lower-case deb says:

but on the flip side, rejoice humankind who gave birth before George and Charlotte came to this world… because thy children art blessed, they sprung fully formed out of thy foreheads, in full battlegear, high school diploma and fabulous makeup.

      but now no more.

  8. Citresse says:

When is Mike Middleton firing up the camera?

    • ickythump says:

He prob cant get near them cos Granny Chav is blocking the way…

    • Citresse says:

Or Kate is in real despair re- her hair, because George has repeatedly led Lupo to her stash of wiglets and Lupo keeps burying them (thinking they’re dead rodents) in various locations on the grounds of Amner.

      • Chrissy says:

OMG LOL! I can actually picture this happening. That little scoundrel.

      • Citresse says:

Wait, did they install a sandbox for little George? The wiglets are buried in there too! 😉

    • nancy says:

When Kate loses any remaining baby weight.

      • Citresse says:

        nancy
well, that probably shouldn’t take too long if Kate has resumed her pre-wedding diet of bottled water and two saltine crackers per day.

      • candice says:

Citresse, at first glance I wanted to laugh but the sad thing about her situation is that your comment is probably not too far from the truth.

Kate may rejoice in the “achievement” of losing weight and all the praise she will receive from the masses/press, but the extreme measures she takes will cause longterm damage to her body & overall health. You can already see it in her skin and hair and eventually she can look forward to osteoporosis God knows whatever else. Tell me, what was so wrong about how she looked before the wedding? I guess that’s how it works with eating disorders — denial, denial, denial.

      • Citresse says:

        candice
I don’t really believe Kate is on a diet of bottled water and crackers right now.
She is fortunate in that she has lots of support and guidance.
I would bet she is taking in much fewer calories post pregnancy and exercising a lot but I think she is mindful of consuming a healthy diet especially if she is breastfeeding.
I do believe, however, she took the dieting too far before her wedding.

      • Citresse says:

When Kate was photographed in that clingy dress shopping in High St days before her wedding, I thought she looked anorexic.
So thin she was angular and bony.

      • candice says:

Citresse – A friend of mine saw her fairly up close when Kate & Bill came to Canada. She was wearing a yellow dress that despite being loose and flowy, seemed to emphasize her frail, bony condition. The short sleeves revealed veiny arms and lanugo – telltale signs of anorexia.

      • Natalie says:

I was wondering if that’s part of the reason she’s staying away from public duties for a longer period of time (the other part being she’s lazy). Her vanity or unfortunately body dysmorphia won’t let her be seen and photographed before she’s again pin thin, but losing weight too quickly is very aging.

      • Citresse says:

        Natalie
Good point, which is why I think Kate took a different fashion direction this time post birth Lindo Wing steps. You’ll note after George’s birth she wore that polka dot blue dress which emphasized her post birth belly. I bet Kate was horrified when she saw the photos and videos of herself a bit later because this time around we saw her in a loose fitting dress and she draped the white shawl around Charlotte so the excess material further camouflaged her belly. Vanity? Yeah, I guess. But perhaps she’s also a perfectionist to some degree?

      • Betti says:

I’ve also seen her in person and yes she is very thin and boney. I’ve seen Hollywood starlets looking healthier.

  9. nancy says:

What a load of BS!! He’s tired from the stress of coming up with ways to seem busy and productive when he’s loafing around living the life of Riley.

As for Kate NOT dieting – please. Stringent dieting and constant exercise probably commenced the moment they arrived at their new digs. Even if getting back down to skeletal proportions was not a priority – which we all know it is – what else is she going to do? US Weekly is right up there with People in terms of credibility.

    • FLORC says:

She’s back to it by a few accounts. The regimen never varies it seems. About 2 hours of cardio a day in a gym, Plus swimming, and smoothies that are low in sugars like green smoothies that tend to be higher in veggies and lower in fruits that bring the sugars.
Her weight will be prepregnancy soon enough.

We always get reports from solid sources speaking from direct knowledge of what the Cambridges do in fragments of their days. Never a full picture like the other working royals.
So, we know what Kate does. Shop online, workout, spend time with her children when they’re not with their nanny, beauty treatments. Now, what does William do? He’s the 1 who should have a spotlight on him. He’s the one who appears to fill his days with next to nothing in preparation for all he will come into.

      • nancy says:

Holy crackers, that’s a lot of exercise FLORC! Speaking from experience, overdoing it in terms of your activity level and not taking in enough food can seriously affect your milk supply. With me it was a matter of being constantly ‘on the go’ , trying to do it all (v.s. undertaking an actual exercise regimen like Kate). But since she has more help than she knows what to do with, a lot of the stresses most moms have are nonexistent.

      • FLORC says:

It’s structured workouts and diets. I’m sure she’s getting her nutrients, but lacking calories.
Kate has been so thin any change(gain/loss) is noticed heavily.

And she does have huge amounts of help. She doesn’t need to run anywhere for baby supplies. She can pass off her children to their nannies should she need a nap. Laundry never gets backed up, etc…
So, she has the time and then some to work on losing her baby weight.

      • candice says:

Seems like the children are mere playthings she takes out for the cameras or when she is bored and then hands off to someone when she’s had enough. Sad.. I wonder how long she will wait until they’re shipped off to boarding school.

      • FLORC says:

        Candice
        I don’t think that’s a fair statement.
Kate has been see being a mother to George. Holding his hand and walking. She just utilizes her staff and help more than others. And really, how much would you expect from someone that still needs her mother to tend to her private and married life?
And I think they get shipped off at 8? Though, this is a long tradition that the Midds might have a say and put a stop to. That will be interesting to see.

  10. Ang says:

Let us see the prizes, Prince George and his new sister is all I’ve got, these people .

  11. Vava says:

I think the press and his charities should completely ignore him.

    • FLORC says:

      Vava
If only the press would kick back more often to him.
And sadly, his charities eat up the scraps he tosses them regarding his time because it’s still great exposure for them.

At a time I worked for 2 rather large charities while living abroad. 1 more corporate and 1 more grassroots. Both appear to despise patrons or celebs that act like they’re doing the charity such a service for an hour of their time. And expect gifts and promotion at the cost of the charty for this.
And the charity will agree to these terms, but not approve and talk loads of terrible things behind the cameras.
It’s horrible and only supported by the press playing their role. Without the press paying attention to William self promotion he will become pointless in these fluff roles. Could he then focus on his future as the head of the monarchy? I wonder..

Still, I agree with you (and do so quite often!), but in a perfect world… 🙂

      • Vava says:

        Hi FLORC,
yes, the alternative would be for the press to push back. I’d love to see that, too! I have a feeling some trash is coming sooner or later, and when it does I’m going to savor it because I detest what William has become, and Kate hasn’t been anything to write home about, either.

      • FLORC says:

William has become something of a joke and more of a fear for the future of their institution. If he was prepared or actively preparing for his future role i’d say let him pilot. He’s put in the time and effort to know what is expected of him. Since that has not only not happened, but rather it’s used as an excuse to avoid more duties he shouldn’t be doing anything else. He’s playing what he wants to. Normal without the financial burdens.

We all know Kate is not a hard worker and much PR is to make her look like she’s a mom doing it all, but that’s a red herring. William slides away during all the attention on his wife.

  12. Anastasia says:

He doesn’t look tired to me. And if he’s actually getting up in the night to care for the baby, I’ll eat every pair of shoes I own.

  13. GracePM says:

They shouldn’t talk about making their lives easier… Seriously, that’s ridiculous.

  14. anne_000 says:

Regarding Pippa and the smoothies…. the Daily Mail had an article up 11 days ago that smoothies and organic baby food is part of her new career as a (pseudo-) nutritionist.

She’s enrolled in one of those “prestigious distance-based learning nutrition schools that are all the rage among ‘funemployed’ young ladies at the moment” aka an online nutrition-related course and is trying to find a magazine who’ll give her a job as a health column writer and then she expects to write and sell books on the subject.

“A source said: ‘Under the tutelage of Pippa, Kate has become a health freak. They both have expensive blenders and make themselves green smoothies every morning. The Middletons are a very healthy family and they hate to outsource help or advice, so Pippa thought: Why not become a nutritionist?’”

Odd that if they hate to outsource help, Pippa is sending her smoothies every three days instead of Kate (or her chef) or Pippa juicing them up for her instead of having them delivered.

The article also says that both Kate and Pippa think that currently-sold organic baby food isn’t healthy enough, so Pippa is going to design special ones for Charlotte.

Obviously, having a Royal Princess in her family as a ‘client’ is good testimonial for her budding practice and new career.

People in the comment section wrote that she can’t become an actual nutritionist or dietitian by just taking a course. That it requires years in an actual college with an actual science degree and then certification with a government agency.

“‘This is a new career move for Pippa,’ the source added.
‘She wants to advise friends and family, building a list of clients she can advise in the long run.
‘Who better to practise on than her own family?’”

If you can’t use family, including your baby niece as a stepping stone for your career path, then who you can you use? Just saying…

    • India Andrews says:

Poor Charlotte. How would you enjoy being Pippa’s unwilling guinea pig?

  15. Aurelia says:

We must remember he is only whinging about the obvious horrors of new parenting – broken sleep because he is just like ! Snort snort. He is down woth the plight of peasants. We know full well he is in another wing of the house. Tragic.

    • anne_000 says:

Jason probably gave him talking points about what ‘normal’ new fathers usually say.

  16. Aurelia says:

    Granny chav Karole. Too funny.

  17. LadyoftheLoch says:

I’m late to the party, but seems as if crafty little Pippa may be spinning a new PR thread for herself as a way to stay relevant, with her bespoke distance learning wheeze as an insta-nutritionist and whatnot. 1) Media leaks of her “simply yummy” smoothie recipes to follow, perhaps a link-up with James for a new biz development (funded under the table by shady Uncle Gazza, natch) known as Really Nice Juices, perhaps? 2) She’ll win sisterly Brownie points and heaps of praise from Mummy for being “sooooooo thoughtful. ” Win-win for the Pipster. Ack.

  18. Caroline says:

I am not too fantastic a fan of William and Kate but, yes, he does look tired and if Kate is breast feeding he could also be wakened through the night. If George is resenting his little sister surely that is just normal behaviour? I apparently tried to suffocate my little sister. It is getting a bit low if people start criticising a toddler.
In some of the articles on this site terrible criticism is levelled against Kate and frankly I cannot see what she is doing that is so terrible. If she is nervous in her new role she will get used to it but give her a chance. Diana on the other hand is held up as some super being. She wasn’t you know. I don’t know how many people here were around when she was actually performing her royal duties, but she would frequently go to early engagements in a mood and refuse to speak to people. She played to the gallery like no-one else, phoning the press when she was taking the boys somewhere so she could be photographed. At Balmoral once she left Castle with one of the boys and the security guard told her the direction the press were in and to go the other way. Guess which way our lady went and then had a performance twirling the child around in full view of the cameras. Then there was the ski-holiday when she would not look at the press and Prince Charles had to plead with her. She was once on an engagement in my home town which include a lunch. Diana would not eat with the rest of the guests but had to have her food in an ante-room with the lady-in-waiting. The royal family probably don’t think Kate is perfect and probably are not keen on her family but compared to Diana…

    • Deedee says:

I tire of people throwing Diana under the bus to try to make Kate look good. Neither woman is/was a saint. However, Kate’s and Diana’s work ethics are miles apart, esp. when you consider the 10 years of “waitying” before marriage and now we’re four years in. And the Midds have done many of the media tricks you are bringing up about Diana, having paps on speed dial and “oh look at these photos of George and Kate at the petting zoo” when the PR is needed. Kate used the press after the 2007 breakup to win back William, welcoming pics of herself out partying with male friends. Also, there is no statement/evidence that Kate is breastfeeding and no need for William to wake up if she is. As for criticizing a toddler, it’s William who talks about what a boisterous kid he is. It would be nice to hear him say something sweet about his kid once in a while.

  19. *North*Star* says:

This is part of an interview from Carolyn Robb, former chef of both the Gloucesters’ and the Wales’ (you can Google it, it’s from the site called Racked.com) promoting her new book called “The Royal Touch”.

I post it because it’s the second former royal chef that has stated the Cambridges do not have a chef and Kate cooks for the family.

Q: Do you know anything about the current royal chef for Kate?

A: As far as I understand, they don’t have a chef at the moment. They have a small household and can fend for themselves. They’ll probably want to do that for as long as they can. Have a normal family life because that will really change when you have butlers and nannies and cooks around, the house is no longer your own. I’m sure they want to just be leading a normal family life.

Q: Wait, so Kate is cooking for her family?

A: Yes, Kate does quite a lot of the cooking at the moment. You have to remember that she’s not royal. She comes from a normal background and a normal home where she’s always cooked for herself. And what I’ve always heard is that William enjoys spending time with her family because they just eat together at the kitchen table like a normal family. I’m sure that that’s what they still do.

    • Deedee says:

Darren McGrady, another chef who cooked for the young princes, thinks otherwise:
While William and Kate are known for their relaxed modern parenting style – it is believed that the couple will defy royal tradition by not seeking the help of a second nanny – the chef doubts that they will personally prepare all the meals for Prince George and his new sibling.

Instead, he expects that they will keep staff to a minimum – perhaps George’s current nanny Maria Borrallo, and a chef.

There are enough phrases like “from what I understand” and “what I’ve always heard” in Robb’s statements that it makes me think she’s just reading the Cambridge’s PR spin and speculating. She hasn’t been cooking for royals for decades and is busy promoting her own projects.

      • *North*Star* says:

Darren McGrady was the other former royal chef that explicitly stated they don’t have a chef.

Both chefs stated that Kate does most of the cooking but not all.

Former employees of the royals seem to keep in touch so I think their statements are more accurate than what various tabloids report.

    • FLORC says:

      Northstar
There’s a lot of spin in your answers.
Yes, Kate had a family kitchen in stalled in KP, but the moment it was finished it was abandon.
And her family did have staff. In Kate’s early 20’s the Midds stepped up their social game. She would go home weekly and have meals prepared by chefs, but in a family setting. This was well noted during the Midds home transition to their current estate. They needed to atleast double their staff including another chef atleast.

By all other reports (both pro, anti, and in between) it’s noted Carole or a chef cooks meals for Kate and Wills. Not Kate.

To add. Small household? You mean staff or space? Their home is quite large and they’ve added additions to it. Their staff is minimal, but they only count staff as those they pay.
A few years ago their was there claim they had no staff only to find they had a 21 head staff at 1 residence they had a christmas party that went awry for. That staff was paid for by Charles I believe to work for the Cambridges.

      • Caroline says:

At Christmas 2012, the month it was announced Kate was pregnant with George they had a lunch for 27 staff in Notting Hill, London. The staff comprised members of their press team and “private staff”. That is online if you google in details.

      • *North*Star* says:

        Florc,

Small household refers to staff not their physical accommodation.

Spin in MY answers? I’m quoting someone else — those are her words not mine.

As I said above, the various former employees will have kept in contact with one another. I believe their insider information rather than what we read in various tabloids. These former employees paint a different picture than what we typically see.

For instance, JK Rowling just sued the DM for twisting a story — and she won. It’s important to keep that in mind.

        Florc & Caroline,

That 21/27 staff Christmas party would also have included any & all royal protection officers specifically assigned to them which is why the number looks so high. Most have a designated team assigned to each of them which drives up those numbers by a lot. The staff would also have included Harry’s staff as the Cambridges & Harry then and now share a combined household.

      • FLORC says:

        North/Caroline
No intentional spin. It was incorrect understanding on my part. Let’s call it lost in translation.

Regarding staff. Facts and details as time goes get altered. Old links go nowhere. It was originally a time where they claimed to have no staff and were doing it all on their own. Kate running errands/cooking/cleaning. No staff at all.
So, to hear there is staff says a lot.
Combine all you like. They claimed none and that wasn’t the case. And none of this would have surfaced had it not been for some unhappy staff venting frustration at a pub.
