You could live in Taylor Swift’s apartment building if you have $27,500 a month

Here are some photos of Taylor Swift in NYC ahead of her big concert in Washington DC last night. It looks like Swifty needs to get in touch with Jennifer Lawrence’s Hot Bodyguard Agency because Swifty’s bodyguard isn’t up to the task of being pap’d on the reg. I’m not even sure if he’s really bodyguarding, you know? He’s just holding her purse and her coffee and standing back while Swifty poses for the paparazzi. Such is the life when you’re guardian Taylor Swift! These photos were taken outside of Swifty’s Tribeca apartment building, and guess what? You too could live in Swifty’s building… if you have $27,500 a month.

It’s the ultimate pad for the Taylor Swift fan-girl — or boy. A prospective deep pocketed renter could now live below Taylor Swift and her revolving door of big-name celebrity visitors such as Calvin Harris, Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss.

An apartment on the fourth floor of Swift’s boutique Tribeca condo building at 155 Franklin St. has hit the market for the monthly price of $27,500 a month, said listing broker Katherine Salyi of Nest Seekers International.

“It’s a boutique, intimate building,” Salyi said. “It’s very nondescript from the outside but once you’re inside, the apartments are huge and stunning.”

Swift, who paid $20 million last year to buy the building’s sixth-floor penthouse from “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson, transformed the building into a hot spot for she and her A-list pals. The four-bedroom apartment, which is next door to a unit recently sold by Orlando Bloom, has exposed brick, cast iron columns, wood-beamed ceilings and an open floor plan. Its owner, a fashion executive, saw it as an investment and lives elsewhere in the city, Salyi said.

That’s the kind of life Swifty has – gorgeous $20 million lofts in boutique Tribeca buildings. Friendships with hot models. Pretty cats. And a successful Scottish boyfriend. I’ll admit it, I’m jealous. Swifty should buy this apartment just to have a place for her shoes.

As for her DC concert… Lorde made a guest appearance. Swifty has been doing a lot of “guests” at her concerts recently and some of the appearances are sort of cool. Last week, Swifty had the US Women’s Soccer team make a guest appearance. I think Nick Jonas came out too. And now Lorde. At the DC concert, Swifty actually had a big technical problem – go here to see. She’s also been posting concert photos on her Instagram – you can see those here.

The thing I don’t understand about Swifty are her friendships. She is A list, yet isn’t it funny that all of her friends are way below her, status wise? Like a bunch of models and a few actresses that aren’t that popular. The people at her 4th of July party:models and the Jonas brothers? Does she do this because she always wants to be top dog or is it because really famous people don’t actually want to be friends with her outside of work obligations?

    • Franca says:

i thnk she has to be top dog.

    • Nessa says:

Yes, 1,000,000% she has to be the one on top. I don’t doubt she is wonderful to her friends. And she really is sweet and appreciative of her fans. However, everything this girl does is calculated. It’s helped her to the top, obviously, but she is very methodical in every single thing she does… Even choosing her best friends. She needs to be adored, always… By everyone.

    • Lena says:

I don’t think Lorde or Lena Dunham are really below her status wise. Sure, they are not as financially successful but who is more financially successful as Taylor Swift? Not really sure who you think would qualify as equal- Beyoncé? Jennifer Lawrence? There are just not really many youngish women as famous as her.

      • Liv says:

This. Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield and Jennifer Lawrence are also friends with her. It’s not like she’s just friends with people who are below her status. And seriously, name one celebrity who is able to pull her name-collecting off? Madonna tried and failed.

    • Tulip Garden says:

Maybe she just likes who she likes? Idk, I am just saying it is possible that she doesn’t base her friendships on a -d list status. Really, I just hope that is the case. It’s so sad to see celebs only be friends with others on their fame/popularity level….really high school stuff, IMO.
Having said that, you could be right. So who would Swift hang around that could supplant her as “top dog”? I wouldn’t think very many.

    • annaloo. says:

Taylor Swift is a doll line collection waiting to happen

    • itzblissy says:

I think she is friends with alot of A-listers, but as A listers they have odd schedules. hard to be close to someone who is as busy as you but work a whole different schedule. Her current friends are yes not as famous as her, but they probably have more free time. So when taylor has down time, these are the people that are available to hang out with her, so these are the people that she gets close to.

Kind of like at work, my supervisor is friends mostly people she supervises, not because she has to be top dog but because the other supervisors work different shifts and so she rarely get to socialize with them.

    • Kelly says:

I don’t understand who defines Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid as “A-List”. The only reason I know who those people are are because they’re friends with Taylor Swift.

  2. Cats says:

    Stand up straight!

    • Mei says:

Thank god someone else thought this. For somebody whose career is largely image based and not to mention she has lots of models as friends, you’d think she’d realise that posture is so important. I think it all the time when I see photos of her!

    • Samtha says:

Yes! That poor posture kills me! (And her.)

  3. Franca says:

I like my concerts to be about the music, I hate when there’s 500 dancers, and lights and model catwalks. Not my cup of tea.

I’m still amazed that Swifty’s fanbase is my age, and not just 13 year olds, her songs are so very juvenile.

    • Tiffany says:

She is more flash than substance because her vocals are not the strongest. Imagine her doing nothing but an accustic set, it will not be very good.

  4. Halah says:

Can you imagine how annoyed you would be not being Taylor Swift in Taylor Swift’s building? Having to deal with fans and paps hanging around your front door – her fleet of SUVs taking up all the curbside spots? Unless…do you think she invites her neighbors over for cookie baking and hair braiding parties 😉

    • Elyse says:

The papparzzi are only there when she calls them, it’s not like they hang out there hoping for a shot. They know the times she leave. But yeah, being her neighbor for those reasons would drive me nuts.

    • Alex says:

She invites the paps there. Just like JLaw when she was “caught” shopping for an apartment. Paps don’t just hang out in hordes in NYC. In tribeca I’ve seen maybe 1 or 2 paps hanging around waiting but when you see 100+ photos of a celeb being found in NYC…they called. ESPECIALLY in new york because celebs move here to get away from the hounding pap culture of LA

    • Jen says:

I remember reading in a Rolling Stone article about her she also has a full security team living in the building because of all of the fans that wait outside the building every day-the writer even mentioned how chaotic it was as soon as she walked out. Absolutely because she calls the paps out, but you know some of them just hang out with the fans because they know the spot and how much she loves calling all her recruits over. Ugh, I can’t even imagine shelling out all of that money and having to deal with that circus every day-I really wonder what the building’s board must feel about her.

  5. Me too says:

Like the dress. Hate her. Loathe. So fake. So much better than you.

    • mytbean says:

She looks like someone broke a tambourine over her head…

      • Blackcat says:

        Good job mytbean!
I couldn’t put my finger on it, but a broken tambourine perfectly sums it up.
She looks awful to me. She and her retinue are tap dancing on my last nerve.

  6. serena says:

awwww… her with her sensible heels.

  7. lisa2 says:

She said she never knows what she is going to wear until about 5 minutes before she leave the house. It is very obvious that there is a lot of planning in her outfits. I don’t think she wears the same thing more than once or a couple of times. Even with all the fashion walking and posing.. nothing is memorable.

    • Alex says:

hmmmm she might be like me I can never decide what to wear in the mornings but I have outfits coordinated together in my closet that I pull out and go.
But again I rarely believe what she says because she tries to come off so effortless 24/7

  8. G says:

Doesn’t she get sick of the pap parade? She could make a dash for the car in low key clothes that look the same day after day, instead she chooses to make the paparazzi more money by doing a fashion show and smiling and waving. It’s weird.

Jlaw said at comic con that she and Taylor text, so i have no doubt that will be an eventual selfie on IG or concert appearance. i do think it’s good that she doesn’t make her friends not be friends with her enemies. Ed Sheeran is tight with John Mayer and Selena Gomez said she talked to Katy Perry after the Bad Blood video to make sure she knew it wasn’t personal on her behalf. And Ellie Goulding had to assure everybody that she deleted her pic with Katy because she was drunk in it or whatever.. And she obviously doesn’t hold it against Gigi for dating Joe, even hanging out with him and having him at her parties.

People always ask Ed Sheeran why they never date when they get on so well and i saw him give a pretty honest answer one time besides the ‘we’re not each others type/we’re just friends and don’t want to ruin it’ motto. – that her life is so different to his with 24/7 paparazzi and bodyguards etc, and he doesn’t think he could do it. It’s a fair comment and it’s one i think Calvin Harris will soon share once the thrill of dating America’s Sweetheart wears off. She will always be putting on a show and i don’t know if a lot of guys can deal with their partners monopolizing all the attention.

    • Nicole says:

JLaw actually had the opportunity to go to her concert in Montreal (the X-Men cast attended) and didn’t attend. She’s not one for the public selfie thing. She’s visited Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper at their shows and there isn’t any photos of her with them. Jen has also visited Taylor in NYC multiple times and you never see her in Taylor’s IGs. It just isn’t Jen’s style I think

    • Ronda says:

“i don’t know if a lot of guys can deal with their partners monopolizing all the attention. ”

How would any guy even know if she wants to be with him or if its just for her image and next album?
I would feel very stupid if someone told me how to act in public for pictures and when its over that i will be painted as the bad person on the next album.
She pretty much wrote all the decent guys out of her life forever.

Ed does not fit her criteria of Handsome, tall teenage heartthrob.

      • G says:

i honestly don’t think Taylor is Ed’s type anyway. I think they have a genuine friendship but besides music i don’t think they have a lot in common. He is very grounded and still has all his friends from before he was famous. He knows there is a difference in celeb friends you see at award shows and genuine friends. I don’t know if Taylor does. it will be interesting to see who she is still friends with in 10 years.

  9. Ronda says:

Why isnt Taylor called out way more often? Her showmances were ridiculous and now she is actually PARADING her “friends” on stage to show them off to the world? she gets papped more than Kim Kardashian. How does she get away with those levels of thirst?

  10. PrincessMe says:

Are you saying that her bodyguard isn’t doing his job or that he’s not sexy enough to have the job?

  11. TX says:

    A thought on bodyguards:
Why do they always hold stuff for the celebs? Wouldn’t you want your bodyguard to have his/her hands free in case something goes down??? I’ve always wondered what the point is of hiring a bodyguard then distracting them with your crap.

  12. Tacos and TV says:

Oh, to be the 1%… aint it grand

  13. Chic says:

But her cheeks are still puffy so no one can really have it all.

  14. Halvin Carris says:

After I finally watched gone Girl on HBO I realized the Taylor could very well be the “Gone Girl” and it scares me. Very much…..

    • korra says:

hahaha! Calvin Harris’s cry for help.

    • Midnight Tides says:

      Heh, funny you mention that.

I find it unfortunate that she’s becoming something of a role model for young women and girls. She seems so…attention seeking and manipulative to me. The constant singing about how awfully she’s been betrayed or deceived, with seemingly no personal growth ever stemming from these wounds, and her continuing to have a sixteen-year-old’s perspective on life and relationships. I’ve met people like that and they have zero sense of personal responsibility and maturity. With Swift, I get the sense she relishes the media attention she gets, her world is an endless parade of paparazzi shots and interviews. Which you’d think would be exhausting, but it’s like she’s a bottomless pit, gobbling up all this attention, never being exhausted by it, but instead enlivened in a strange way.

My cut off point was the “Black Space” music video. She seemed to portray/describe the beginning euphoria and eventual devaluation of an abusive relationship very accurately, and considering she cast herself in the abusive role, it raises questions. Certainly her scathing break up songs indicate a very resentful individual, one who constantly feels “victimized” “misunderstood” and “betrayed” which could easily be how she justifies humiliating exes in such a public manner. It just put a lot of eerie thoughts into my head and I found it hard to find her sympathetic after that.

Of course that’s all just a projection/theory and I don’t know her personally, but, at least in my mind, the shoe does kinda fit.

  15. Norman Bates' Mother says:

The only thing I took from this story is that Peter Jackson and Orlando Bloom used to be door-to-door neighbors – a very LOTR image.
