Kendall is a real model being hired for big jobs, like closing out the Chanel show and the print ad campaign for Calvin Klein. Kendall also recently surpassed Kim’s Instagram record to have the most “liked” photo ever – more people “liked” Kendall’s hair-heart IG instead of Kim’s wedding photo. Kendall and Kylie have also been catching up to Kim with the number of followers they have on Instagram and Twitter.
So… several days ago, Kim tweeted: “Woke up to over 40 million instagram followers! Thank you so much everyone! I will post a bunch today to celebrate! Xo.” As Radar points out, Kim gained a remarkable 3 million followers in one week. How did that happen? Or should we ask, how much did it cost?

Once queen of the internet, Kim Kardashian has seen her status as most-liked threatened by sister Kendall Jenner, and insiders tell RadarOnline.com she’ll do anything to get back on top, including buy followers!
Friday morning, the 34-year-old took to her Twitter to share news that she “woke up to over 40 million Instagram followers,” which was a jump of roughly 3 million in just over one week. But were they bought or earned? Kim came under fire in December when Instagram’s purge of fake accounts showed that she had more than 1.3 million fake followers. Buying followers is a common practice for people looking to pump up their tally.
Why would she do it? A source very close to the KUWTK family tells Radar, “Kim has been really bothered by the fact that some of her family members, specifically Kendall, are catching up to her in terms of social media followers. She’s jealous and she is not having it at all.”
On July 1, for example, Kendall showed Kim who the new Instagram queen is by getting more likes on a photo in a single day than Kim and hubby Kanye West’s wedding photo. Jenner even posted on her Twitter account, “Take That KimYe!”
Kim’s follower bump was swift retribution, but Jenner clearly is not stepping down to her sister so easily: She added an additional 3 million followers on Instagram herself — going from 29 million followers at the beginning of the month to almost 32 million the day of Kim’s record.
And although this may seem like a normal increase, Radar has been keeping track of the entire family’s social media following and since the show first aired in 2007, and no one in the entire family has added more than 1 million followers to either Instagram or Twitter in a one-month span.
According to the family insider, “Kim has made it very clear to all of her family that she will never allow any of them to have more followers than she does. Her jealousy is just pathetic. But Kim buys anything she wants and her social status is not something that she is ever going to be willing to compromise.”

It must be so exhausting preening, primping, constantly checking every minuscule detail of your appearance in every available mirror, making adjustments, checking that everyone is looking at you, being photographed and/or taking endless selfies and then checking and photoshopping before you post them to multiple social network sites, checking that some other celebrity or, worse, one of your own sisters, hasn’t surpassed you in the number of followers or likes on those sites…. God, I’m exhausted just thinking about it. And how fecking sad that. as an almost-35-year-old wife, mother and expectant mother, who’s not short of a quid, has a nice place to live, is in good health, has a close family etc etc, she (and the rest of them) feels the need to fill her life with such shallow and utterly pointless pastimes. Imagine if she used her celebrity to promote education (I know, I know…), women’s issues, childhood illnesses, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence or myriad other important social issues. How much respect and validation could she achieve if she put her considerable fame and wasted time to better use? What about self-worth, a sense of achievement etc? Gaaahh. I think Instagram had a problem with a bug last week that increased the amount of followers of each user. But it’s fixed now, so it would be interesting to see if she still has the same amount of followers as last week.

Kendall is the most boring of all the Kardashians and it shows in her modeling photos, she gives no face whatsoever because her mind is just completely blank. For “insta-famous” people, having a large number of followers increases the likelihood of being tapped to shill those stupid detox teas, waist trainers, and protein drinks (that look like watered down almond milk). You can always tell that the followers are dummy accounts though just based on the name. I would assume it works the same for Kim but with high end brands thrown in the mix.
Kendall has gotten a lot of opportunity in a short amount of time, not just from Kim, but from her social media presence.
People make money by basically setting up millions of fake accounts under lots of different names, and will sell the chance to be followed by x amount of their fake accounts. Good ones will take pains to make the fake accounts look vaguely real, by stealing photos of real people and filling in profile info. Bad ones will literally just create a million accounts JohnDoe001 JohnDoe002 and leave them blank. But they’re cheap. It’s usually pretty obvious to identify a fake account since they have few or no activity.
