Jennifer Lawrence & Amy Schumer danced on a piano at a Billy Joel concert

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are together in Chicago right now. We know this because JLaw couldn’t stop gushing over their friendship, and they have buckled down in the windy city to finish their comedy screenplay. The studios will be all over that one, I imagine, as will Judd Apatow be to direct. The two will star in a buddy film to put both the Wedding Crashers and Lethal Weapon movies to shame. Eh, actually, I’m not sure if JLaw’s comedy skills will translate on the big screen. She’s so goofy in real life, but she’s an actress with a dramatic flair.

Anyway. People are sometimes annoyed by both JLaw and Amy, so I appreciate that they enjoy antagonizing folks by being fabulous together. Their jet-skiing vacation was the best, and they reportedly are always glued together by text now. So of course they decided to have fun during their Chicago screenwriting stint. Amy and JLaw went to the Billy Joel concert and participated in a synchronized dance during “Uptown Girl.” Amy comes in at about the 2:00 minute mark in the video. Then JLaw comes in a few seconds later with other dancers. It’s really cute.

Soon enough, the two women were barefoot and dancing on top of the piano. Man, Billy Joel gets all the ladies. This is the sort of song that could make anyone happy, and everyone is having so much fun together. I’d much rather be on top of a piano than be glued to a computer, wouldn’t you?

I’m already sick of these two. Maybe it’s just me.

    • Mark says:

Jennifer is just a normal down to earth girls who hates attention and fame!!!!!!!!!!!

She’s acts like she hates the attention but she does stuff like this because she knows it will go viral and will eclipse the story of Chris Martins new girlfriend and she can also show us that she doesn’t care about it. She did it last month with the catwalk poses when Chris was pictured with Kylie.

And if we’re bashing Taylor Swift for showing off her famous friends publicly, can we not do the same for Amy and Jennifer?

      • Saks says:

I was thinking this exactly. I’m not annoyed by any of them (Amy, Jen or Taylor, I quite enjoy the 3 of them in small doses), but she got a lot of heat for enjoying and dancing at awards shows, and people always say she is so immature and everything, yet when it comes to Jen the comments are usually defending her immaturity and goofy/ weird antics. As I said I don’t dislike any of them but I find this curious too

      • Angela says:

        @Mark
you post in every Lawrence article. What kind of obsession!

      • Mark says:

        @Angela

I post in other articles just because you don’t like i’m doesn’t mean i’m obsessed there are people here who post in Ben Affleck posts and they don’t like him. The writers don’t like him why don’t you message for being obsessed with him.

You seem like a superfan arguing with everyone who criticizes her, you’re probably from tumblr.

    • Emma - the JP Lover says:

      @Cleo …

      Nope, it’s not just you.

    • Abbott says:

Not just you. I’m so sick, Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding are running around the world in HAZMAT suits looking for cure.

    • Franca says:

      Nope, not just you.

    • korra says:

Yeah me too. This is utterly harmless, but the way everyone will talk about it is what will be so goddamn eye rolling. it can’t just be a cute moment. It’ll somehow turn into a Tay Swift versus Amy/Jen , I’d rather be friends with the fun ones bs, and some kinda win for feminism.

    • Alex says:

I’m sick of them together. Probably because the PR push behind them is already too much for me.
And this is a lot more attention seeking than Jen has ever courted. Normally you never see her and stories of her hanging out with famous people emerge months later. So for me this is strategy to plug their movie. Do I think they have fun together? Yep. But us knowing about every detail of this new relationship screams publicity

    • Jib says:

Really. JLaw is a huge phony, “Oh, I’m just a regular girl who eats Cheetos and falls a lot.”

Her day in the sun will fade soon, as it does with anyone not named Meryl Streep. (And Meryl never made a fool of herself.) It can’t come soon enough for me.

      • Angela says:

You sounds like a pressed troll. She will be fine, the industry love her (Tarantino said that she’s a little Bette Davis for example). I’m sorry for you

    • Nerdista says:

      It’s just you 😉
I live them both and want to go drinking with them while watching their moviez.

  2. aims says:

I’d much rather be hanging out with those two then being in Swifty’s mean girl posse.

  3. Elisa the I. says:

    Poor piano.

  4. speshul says:

If Amys gonna dress up, she needs to wear items that are flattering to her figure. She isnt a bad looking woman, but that awful white dress is designed for someone *much* smaller than her.

    • Aussie girl says:

…? The bust is far to tight and low ( as a lot of stars wear) for my own liking, however Im failing to see how the rest doesn’t fit or flatter.

  5. Tiffany says:

What is going on with JLaw. She always knew how to go away in the press. She knows that people can get sick of her if she is too in your face and know she is just everywhere. This cannot be because of the Martin Lawrence breakup, can it.

    • Abbott says:

You and Mark make a good point. She steps up her antics whenever Martin Lawrence hits the skids.

    • Talie says:

Maybe she realized that she wasn’t having as much fun as she could be having. I mean, she has pretty much worked, worked, worked the past 5 years.

  6. Franca says:

I’d much rather be infront of the computer than in front of so many people.

I sorta like Amy, so fine, they’re cute.

  7. Marty says:

Sounds like a match made in oatmeal Heaven.

  8. Bee says:

If I was at Billy Joel’s concert I don’t think I would really be that excited about Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Shumer dancing on his piano. Is this supposed to be special for the audience?

    • Jib says:

Right? Like, what’s the point? I would be Billy Joel’s audience, and I’d be beyond annoyed at this.

    • WinnieCoopersMom says:

PR to excite the younger peeps (early twenties crowd) about Billy Joel. “Oh wait..Amy and Jen are into him? maybe I should look into his music.”

  9. Dani says:

This annoys me in ways that I cannot put in to words. Jennifer is such a fake. I hate fame I hate Hollywood don’t look at me! Yet she dates fameho extraordinaire, Christ Martin, dances on Billy Joel’s piano, and acts like a clown 99.9% of the time. Pick a side, and stick to it. No one will hate you for enjoying your fame and fortune, but don’t pretend like you can’t stand it and then go and bask in its glory.

  10. Sharra55 says:

I think it is cute and fun. I totally would do that with my girlfriends if given the chance!

  11. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I expected to be grossed out and annoyed by this, but I have to say, it was sort of cute. Neither of them can dance worth beans, and since I just sort of hop around like that, it sort of endeared them to me. Bill Joel pretending he’s still the “downtown man” your mama warned you about…not so much.

  12. Lala says:

She will never win an Oscar again…

    • Lindy79 says:

Don’t be surprised, Harvey and David O’Russell love her

      • lurker says:

True, but people in Hollywood seem to really loathe the Kardashians. I bet, to many academy voters, that pic of her with Kris was kind of damning. It’s a pretentious industry and the people in it, fairly, want it to be taken seriously and respected. “The next Meryl Streep” in bed with mother Kardashian seems like…a step away from that goal.

      • sonia says:

        @lurker
Lawrence is respected in the industry. Tarantino said she’s a little Bette Davis, Cotillard that she’s a prodigy. They love her

  13. Corrie says:

I’ve never outright hear her say she hates fame. I think people assert that onto Jen, nope. I’m sorry, not even a JLaw fan like that but these two are fun with a capital F. No drama club here, no ego, eye rolling or shit talking. I saw Amy perform before she was AMY, and i swear i laughed my ass off. Then before i blinked, she was AMY.

    • Mark says:

She’s said she doesn’t like fame is all about indepedent cinema, even though she hasn’t made one since winters bone

  14. really says:

I like them both, so maybe I’m less predisposed to be annoyed. You can have BJ, though (yes, he’s a great musician, but his music isn’t for me) . I will give them big kudos for actually DOING something (writing, directing, producing) to get material they like rather than just whining about how unfair Hollywood (or the world) is- it’s a big reason why I like Angelina Jolie, too. Yes, they are all talented, but they also create, too. AND, in doing so, create great opportunities for others.

  15. danielle says:

    That was pretty adorable.

  16. stellainnh says:

I love these two women together. They are having fun. no harm in that. They aren’t trashing or mean girling anyone. Laughing, smiling, dancing. No harm in that.

  17. Vic says:

I don’t get Amy at all. I want to Bc of all the hype but I just don’t.

  18. Lindy79 says:

Amy’s dancing bit is in Trainwreck, she dances to this song.
I thought it was cute and the bit in the movie is hilarious

    • Ctkat1 says:

Yes, thank you!! This wasn’t some random attention seeking thing, Amy did a big synchronized dance to Uptown Girl in Trainwreck, which they were sort-of trying to recreate on stage. It’s a lot cuter if you remember/know that scene from Trainwreck.

  19. ashley says:

Good for both of them. People complain when females throw shade at each other, and complain when they’re being themselves and having fun. Damn if you do,damn if you don’t.

  20. Chloeee says:

I love them Both; ladies come be my friend. I have good beer and pot.

  21. Sea Dragon says:

Awww, Billy’s gained so much weight! I hate it ’cause I love him and want him to be around a few more decades.
I loved watching this because if allowed, I could see myself doing just what they did. I don’t care about fame and attention. I don’t even care that JLaw and Amy were the ones up there. It would be the coolest, most exciting thing I’ve done in forever. I’d beam sheer happiness for days and days and days.

  22. QQ says:

I hate That song and Billy Joel’s Voice in it so so so so so Much, Is Virulent

  23. Jordan says:

I was there! It was so fun. They really seemed to be having a blast.

  24. WinnieCoopersMom says:

Side thought..I kind of wonder how these two are together/their conversations.

JL: OMG did you just fart?
AS: Yeah it was those two hot dogs at lunch. My b, guh!
JL: No it’s cool. I want a hot dog now too.
AS: I’m still hungry. I want a burger now…wait did I tell you about the bj I gave him last night? Epic.
    JL: what do you mean?
AS: Let’s just say he is endowed enough, I might have a UTI in two days.
JL: OMG let’s put that in the script! Ahhhhh!! OK where’s my hot dog..I mean weiner?
    ..and they both laugh hysterically.

..I think that sums up their (mutual) sense of humor.

  25. WallFlower says:

That was so lame. These two are a bit much. Their shtick has gotten old real quick. I’m so over them.

  26. SK says:

I freaking love both of these chicks! Love it!

I feel like some of the backlash against them is the typical backlash against strong successful women, and also loud, funny women. Deep down many people are still culturally indoctrinated to think that women shouldn’t ever seek attention or be loud and brash and so this bothers them.

Anywho, more Schumer and Lawrence please!! Jen-schu?
