Lamar Odom seems like he might be out of the woods… somewhat. After a grim prognosis for much of Wednesday, Thursday and early Friday, by Friday afternoon, Lamar was out of his coma and apparently able to say a few words to Khloe. He has been off the ventilator and while doctors don’t know the full extent of whatever neurological damage he might have, his responses have been good so far. Sources tell E! News that Lamar’s improving condition has been nothing short of a miracle, but doctors are still concerned because his kidneys are still failing and he’s still undergoing dialysis. Here are some additional details about Lamar’s condition and everything else:
His health issues from here. E!’s sources say he’s speaking but very groggy, but “he is following and comprehending commands and giving the thumbs up and thumbs down when answering, which are good signs.” He did suffer an “ischemic stroke” which is something that happens to cocaine users. He’s breathing on his own and his EKG came back normal. His heart rate and blood pressure are fine.
Khloe has been there the whole time. E!’s sources say Khloe arrived with Kim and Kris Jenner. Kanye West stayed behind in LA and it’s being said that Kanye has been looking after North on his own, plus when Kourtney went to Las Vegas to see Lamar and her sisters, Kanye babysat Mason, Penelope and Reign. Khloe has not left Lamar’s bedside since her arrival in Vegas, and she’s even slept in his room every night. She’s making all of Lamar’s medical decisions and she’s making the call on who gets to visit him. Lamar’s ex-partner/mother of his children Liza Morales is there as well, plus Lamar’s kids Destiny and Lamar Jr. E!’s sources say that everyone is getting along fine and there has been no disagreement.
Lamar’s money. I have no idea why we really needed to know about this now, but TMZ finally got the details on Lamar’s estate. When Lamar and Khloe got married, they had a prenup, but even after they separated and were very close to finalizing their divorce, Khloe still would have gotten one-third of his estate had he died. His kids would have gotten two-thirds. Lamar also had “several life insurance trusts, making both Khloe and his kids beneficiaries.” At this point, it doesn’t really matter, although I’ll say this… nothing in their marriage was about money, just my opinion. Khloe makes plenty of money and Lamar used to be a successful NBA player. Money was the least of their problems.

Me too and I hope this scare brings him to change his life path towards a more positive direction. Can’t help liking him and hoping he and Khloe reunite but keep that part of their lives outside the limelight.

Not me. I am so glad Lamar is improving. I hope he goes into full recovery, deals with his demons and finds a mate who knows what love is. Because ladies, being in love and knowing how to love unselfishly are two different things. Khloe may be in love but she doesn’t know how to love. Case in point, the constant self serving “leaks” out of this mess. Its not enough to say “Lamar showed signs of improvement” as is the standard release in these situations. She allows her publicity machinery to put out that his first words were “hey baby”, because I mean how else could she frame herself as the “near widow”. And her sisters with that “so happy we made you smile Lamar” ….someone send these Florence Nightingales to a war front please. Gahd! And of course the hourly updates on what every Kardashian affiliate is doing, because who knows why. Lamars aunt has also been at the hospital from the beginning and I gather she is considered the family spokesperson but see how scanty her info is. She doesn’t see this tragedy as an opportunity to push a Kompassionate family brand, unlike some.
I’ll just say this. If these narcissists don’t Kancel their show after both this and the fact that two other family members are in similar distress (Rob and Scott), then there’s more than just greed at play. They could afford to assume any contract penalties from E! and frankly no network would Sue a family that issued a statement to the effect of “our family can no longer withstand this process and we have things to addsress privately”. It would be PR suicide for E! To file suit. But never mind, they’ll have a drug use special in a few weeks and then it will be back to the old storylines with the usual victims and villains. Heal Lamar. Heal and run far away from that Succubus and her cameras.

I would walk through hell and back for my boyfriend. And no way, no matter how much money you offered me, would I ever agree to exploit his pain for money. Because that’s what it all boils down to. Ratings = money.
My man’s private life is frikking private, EVEN MORE SO when he is incapacitated, and cannot decide for himself how much private information he wants out there. It’s called respect. And that, in my understanding, is part of love.

These people are scary and sad. I think the mother knows exactly what she is doing, and the girls are just going along with it because it’s all they’ve ever known. Maybe this event will be a wake-up call for them and they’ll change their ways? Maybe?
The past four days have reminded me of people I know who will ignore people (family members included) until there is a crisis involving hospitalization. Then, they have to be the newscaster, often misinforming if not downright exaggerating to others.
They like to show up at the hospital or call frequently because the ailing person is being cared for and there is little chance of actually being asked to DO anything to help. And somehow, they will make themselves equal if not a bigger part of the story. — How they dropped everything to go to the hospital. How long they stayed, etc., etc.

The pictures of Khloe & Lamar make me sad because this was back when she hadn’t tried to jack herself into another Kartrashian Barbie. So sad to see thee pictures and then see a current picture. I just read the NYPost article. Agreed…it says it all. Lamar got in bed with the devil, and the devil used him and spit him out. And now they are exploiting his addiction. This family has got to be stopped. They are pure evil.

I think Khloe did love him but she’s also using him for publicity and to make herself look good. Liza Morales, the mother of his children, said Khloe did not pay for them to go to Vegas and won’t let his kids see Lamar alone.
Exactly. it is truly a shame that we are getting all of these details about his condition and it is only happening because a Kardashian is releasing them to TMZ. I know Lamar is an addict, but these people have been using him since day 1 and he needs to get them out of his life. As a nurse, I am sure the hospital staff is so thankful that Khloe hasn’t left his side. Good grief.

The Kardashian’s have been leaking info about Lamar’s problems on KUWTK’s and now from his hospital bed. The Washington Post published an article quoting Lamar as saying he could not get a job at Home Depot if he wanted because of how they have made him look to the public.
Making medical decisions for her ex who she loves is, I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess, a lot for her. Let’s take off our judging pants and just hope for the best for everybody involved.

THIS. All day. Everyone involved here is a human being. There was probably a point where Khloe was having to face the idea of deciding whether doctors should try and revive Lamar had the worst started to happen. For better or worse, the man was her husband, and I can’t imagine how scary and painful that must have been. Sending all my love to everyone involved and hoping they all find healing, twice for Lamar.

So agree. She has slept in his hospital room for days. I slept in my husband’s hospital room for 6 nights when he was in ICU and you don’t do that for someone you don’t love. You get no sleep, it’s excruciatingly uncomfortable and you can’t take a shower. I think she’s there because she loves him, and this had to have been horrible for her.
I am sure it’s a nightmare for her. She’s a human like everyone else.

Let’s not. Her love comes with a price. And that price is ratings. Before this happened, she was airing his phonecalls. She knew how vulnerable he was but it didn’t deter her from using that to enhance the show. He was a plot point. If she loved him and didn’t want to be with him, fine but they made him a plot point because he was still reaching out to her. What human being does that to somebody they love? Just don’t air your personal business and talk it out in private.
They sell everything and they still do. All the updates that every media outlet received has to come from their camp yet Lamar’s family is able to keep quiet. That’s real love, letting somebody recover in peace. Not making it all about yourself. This man was on death’s door but the Ks audience just HAD to have daily updates and pap shots of them prancing around in black designer clothing, looking ‘sad’ and ‘distressed’ and letting the world know how they ‘dropped everything’ to be at his side? Btw, the latter is a normal human reaction, a decent thing to do when you care, nothing extraordinary which just goes to show how little most people think of the Ks.
I’m sure they care at some level but to then use him, AGAIN, by spilling all the details is just deplorable. How about not mocking him and using him for ratings? How about leaving this man alone when he is even lower than rock bottom?

Tia, for me, love is a little more complicated than that. There’s dating other guys to distract yourself and attempt to get on with you life, and then there’s the truth of where your heart really is, and who you really love at the end of the day.

It’s complicated for sure, she loves him I am sure but is she a healthy partner for him? Are the kardashians a healthy family for a person with his problems?
Sometimes a relationship is toxic and you have to walk away. The way I see it this is true for both of them. Much has been made of how one can understand that she needed to walk away. But to use a man’s failing health as nothing but an opportunity to jump all over Khloe in the name of Kardashian hate… It’s distasteful to say the least, and it’s really disheartening to read. I saw some posts on one of the earlier Lamar threads essentially insinuating that Kris Jenner orchestrated Lamar’s entire drug addiction to “destroy” him for the sake of ratings. Some above are saying Khloe “doesn’t know how to love,” as if they see her personally for a therapy session once a week. It’s just plain nastiness, and it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
As for extending well-wishes to the mother of his kids and their children, I believe many of us have said “much love to everyone involved” many times. Everyone. But the reality is that Khloe, as a reality star, is the one who’s being reported on heavily, so her name is going to come up more in the comments. Supporting Khloe doesn’t automatically mean you wish ill to the mother of Lamar’s kids.
I know this post isn’t going to make me many friends, but I really don’t care. It’s depressing and slightly scary to read some of these comments. It’s getting to Twi-hard levels of conspiracy theories. I love celebitchy and will continue to read and post, but I’m done with the Kardashian environment and will be steering clear of these posts from now on. I’ll see myself out.

I agree with you that people can be incredibly insensitive to the fact that we are dealing with human beings in a tragic situation. I’m not a Kardashian fan I truly don’t understand how people can be so unkind to someone who is at their lowest, even if they don’t like her.

I think she loves him. She wants to support him and make sure he’s okay. She also knows that not making these decisions would leave his father as his next of kin. His dad doesn’t seem to be the best guy to make medical decisions.
The Kardashians exploit things for media, I’m sure info khloe gives to Kris is passed along to the media. But i think they do love Lamar. They reportedly flew specialists in to consult with his doctors and give advice.

I think Khloe loves Lamar, despite the hurtful things she’s done. I think she is still understandably angry about the cheating. Love doesn’t stop you from doing hurtful things to the person you love.
I doubt that Khloe is deliberately leaking info herself. But any tidbit she understandably shares with her doofus family is speedily sold to tabloids for profit and publicity. Her Demon Mother did the same thing before once Khloe admitted their problems, putting her own twist on it to make Khloe look like a saint and Lamar as the Devil.
I still don’t know for sure that he has actually been physically addicted to anything. The ones who had been hammering that line were the Kardashians, who were in overdrive trying to distract from his cheating. He might be simply someone who turns to such drugs readily under stress, as my parents’ generation did routinely with alcohol, because it makes him feel good. That makes a difference in how he will need to proceed to learn to deal with his stress in safer ways, so it’s an important distinction. You do not need to be an addict to get a bad reaction to cocaine, so it’s wrong to make casual users (who know they can take it or leave it) feel safe. They can potentially die from their first use.
That’s not good. His children and their mother have the right to be alone with him, their relationship with him is a lot longer than hers. I wonder what her motivation is for that? Maybe she’s just afraid to miss an important sign of recovery – she’s been there day and night and might have developed some tunnel vision. She also might be exhausted and not thinking straight about it. Someone needs to convince her this isn’t good from so many different angles. She is not the only person he needs to have around him. She should appreciate the respite instead.
If Demon Mother told her to always stay in the room when other visitors were there – I would suspect a money issue. Demon Mother doesn’t want anybody to ask him to change any insurance policies or his will, which currently give a lot to Khloe as well as the kids even when the divorce is finalized. I would hope that Khloe herself would not be as greedy, but who knows. She doesn’t have skills that will take her into the next few decades, maybe her financial situation is precarious. Pre-nups can be discarded by a judge when deemed unreasonable, they are never ironclad. It is curious that the mother of his children is left out entirely but his divorced wife still benefits. I don’t think Lamar is on bad terms with the kids’ mother, his sudden proposals of marriage to two different women in about a month’s time (Khloe was the second attempt) seemed to baffle her.
Prayers and blessing for LO and his loved ones. I hope he pulls through this and changes his ways.
Totally agree, I am saying a silent prayer for this sad man, that he can heal and move on to have a a happy and healthy life, and that he can conquer his demons accordingly, by all accounts he has many.

I can believe that if he’s in town, he might make some effort to be present (with the nanny patrol) while Kourtney isn’t available, though. He is probably able to do things with Mason, who is about five years old. But Scott might actually be quietly there also for his kids.

At this point if for some reason my brother started dating a Kardashian, I would immediately stage an intervention. Seriously – I would do anything to get him away from those people before they destroyed him for a minor plot line on their show.
Unless he gets a kidney transplant, this is only a reprieve (If he really had kidney failure). Dialysis can buy you time, but eventually your body gives out. Having seen this firsthand, this is better than coma obviously, but he will never fully recover.
My aunt had kidney failure and did dialysis for 5 years. At the end of those 5 years everyone from her dialysis group had passed away. A year later she had to be in a nursing home (she was only 45), and lasted less than 6 months.
You can also have Acute Kidney injury which can resolve. Your Aunt’s sounds to have been Chronic Kidney failure. This situation with Lamar is a classic example of the Acute form which, while it could progress to Chronic, is actually more likely to resolve than to become chronic.
I agree I have two relatives who experienced kidney failure.My aunt had acute renal failure she was only on dialysis a few weeks.She made a full recovery after her overdose.She is still on drugs so it was not a wake-up call for her.My aunt who had diabetes related chronic renal failure was on dialysis for ten years.She died in 2013.
The reason Lamar recovered so quickly was because he experienced a drug overdose and not a brain injury.One the drugs are out the system ,it is very likely he won’t have any brain damage .
Bobafelty, you’re right and it isn’t a great scenario. But dialysis isn’t a death sentence. People can live on it for 20 – 30 years. Not saying everyone does, but it happens. My neighbor was one of those people–he was on dialysis for over 30 years, making him the exception, not the rule.
My niece had three kidney transplants over the course of her 36 year life and was on dialysis between transplants, and then for about 6 years at the end. You’re right, dialysis is not a death sentence. It’s possible that Lamar could have a kidney transplant and live a relatively normal life for quite awhile.
I used to be a renal social worker. How long someone makes it is often (not always, but quite often) extremely dependent on how well someone cares for themselves. Treatment compliance, both on and off dialysis days, is essential.
Sorry to hear about your aunt. Dialysis is a tough thing to deal with.
EVERY transplant center will not give transplants to drug users, self-medicaters or addicts. can’t wait to see how fast he gets one.
I am happy that Lamar may have an opportunity to turn his life around now, and I hope he does. The kidney situation sounds ominous, though I don’t know that much about it. I wish him the best, and hope his body, mind and heart can fully heal.

Reality, not the fantasyland reality she’s used to living in, but true reality has hit her in the face. She may emerge seeing the over the top narcissistic way they live for what it is which is a shallow existence.
Kinda cringed when I read yesterday that PMK has been advising her as to the medical decision making she’s been faced with as Lamar’s wife. Don’t trust that one at all. And why were they all wearing head to toe black? Who does that going to visit someone critically ill in a hospital? They all looked as if they were there to attend his funeral. And then the moment he showed any sign of life, they hightailed it back to LA except for Khloe who remained to stay by Lamar.
They are always in head to toe black. If they even wore colors once in a while I would say that this was in poor taste. None of them seem to own anything with any kind of color other than blacks, greys, beiges and whites.

Regarding “insider” information, soooo many people have been posting information about his prognosis, I wish the K krushing bandwagon would just slow the halt right now.
He had Khloe included in his living estate will(?). That, to me, speaks, no…SHOUTS that she (and by default her family) was always and will always be very important to him.
Sounds like a long battle for him should this truly be a second chance at life. Wishing him Godspeed recovery and a realistic view in the mirror to make the changes he needs to reach his full potential. He’s literally got a world of support.

I’m really happy to hear the news about Lamar! Hoping he makes a full recovery and gets his life back on track. Hopefully this was rock bottom.
I was thinking Khloe was showing some class here, but the fact that “a source” (AKA her or her mother) told the media how she paid for Lamar’s kids to fly to Vegas to be with their dad turned my stomach!!!! Even if she DID pay for them, why the hell would it be necessary to share that information? Really gross, and honestly a slap in the face to their mother Liza. What if Liza couldn’t afford it or something? This was never information that needed to be shared.
I read an article in the NY Post today with the headline “How the Kardashians Ruin People’s Lives for Ratings” and they’re right. This is what these women do. They’re addicted to fame at any cost and they don’t care who gets hurt. Lamar had his issues long before these people came along, but they continue to exploit them. Did he need to become a storyline for Khloe? Did she have to have her phone calls with him broadcasted on their show? Did she need to openly talk about HIS struggles? I don’t think so, but she made a conscious choice to use him for ratings. There is no good person in this family. They didn’t cause his addictions, but exploiting him certainly didn’t help, and when you consider how Lamar has been recorded talking about being slandered and exploited, it’s hard not to be disgusted by this family.

I’d also just like to add that kidney failure is a terrible thing. If they don’t start working again, will he get a transplant? Will they find a matching donor?
A friend of mine, her husband just died from kidney failure. One can’t stay on dialysis forever.
Your friend’s husband probably had chronic kidney disease.Many people who have acute renal failure because of an illness or overdose only require dialysis for a short time.
Given that kidneys (and all organs) are in limited supply, they are only offered to those with the best chance of taking care of them. Age, medical history and lifestyle choices are taken into account when physicians make this decision. Not sure he’d qualify given the circumstances. But I could be wrong. This comes from an OR nurse who’s seen it all.
Thank you Colette. Perhaps you are correct. I cannot recall his initial diagnosis, as he was sick for years. But once he went on dialysis, it wasn’t long before he passed away. Maybe 6-8 months. So I suspect there are all sorts of factors at play, including perhaps other health issues. I am really not sure.

The wait in my state for a kidney is seven years 🙁 I have had quite a few patients pass while on the list. The way to go is live donor, if possible, but even with a group donation (like on Grey’s Anatomy, they actually got the concept right in the domino surgery episode) it is difficult to make that happen.

That article was a good read. Finally the media reports something TRUE about the Kardashians. They are such a gross family. Last week they couldn’t give a damn about Lamar and didn’t want Khloe talking to him, but now that the spotlight is on him, they are by his side? So damn fake.
I think Khloe has been focusing on Lamar, not media. The likely culprits for the leaks are Kim and Demon Mother. Khloe shares any hopeful signs or die predictions with them, and they get busy spreading it with their own twist. Can’t fault her for wanting to tell somebody in her own family, but they can’t really be trusted. It’s a difficult situation for Khloe. She hasn’t yet figured out how toxic Kim and Kris are for her. She can’t really just keep them in the dark about this.
I always liked Khloe and Lamar together. It seems when their marriage ended it was a downward spiral for him, Rob and Khloe. she has had relationships; but always talked about her love for him.
I’m romantic I guess. I hope if they do still love each other they can make it work. But he has to get a lot of help; and the first thing for him is to get himself well physically and mentally; then focus on being a good parent to his children. Finally he could be in a position to have a relationship.

God has given Lamar a chance at recovery. He could contribute so much to helping suffering addicts with his testimony if he can win the battle against addiction. Lamar needs long term rehab in a sheltered environment to have a chance at sobriety. God bless Lamar with good health once again and the will to fight the biggest battle of his life. I watched E News the other day and they credited the Kardashians for Lamar’s recovery. They said the Kardashians are a very spiritual and religious family and it was their 24 hour prayers that saved him ! My God the E channel needs to be cancelled ASAP.

Lamar Odom seems to have a real fighting spirit for him to come out of the coma and be responsive, good for him, the bigger fight of his life is ahead of him and I hope he’s able to win this battle.
Like others I hope he’s able to take this tragedy and use it as the stepping stone to remove negative influences, drugs, and destructive habits from his life.
As for the Kardashians, so long as private information that only serves to make them look good keeps being released I’m not going to gush. We’ve literally heard nothing about other people who’ve visited him or been close to him unless they delivered a message directly via the media or social media. But with this family we know who bought who’s plane tickets, who’s smiling at whom, it’s just so typical of them.

I’m glad Lamar is getting better, too, but I think he needs to return to his friends and family in Queens, New York,the ones who loved him before he left for L.A. and the fast life. His ex has been through a lot with Lamar. They were together for 10 years and had 3 children (1 dying as a baby). Unbelievable that Lamar called Chloe his soulmate and the only woman he ever loved (what an insult to his long-time girlfriend). Also, he’s still having custody/financial issues with his ex. Really? His daughter is 17 and his son is 13. It’s time to pay this woman what you owe her. I’m sure she’s still in love with Lamar and that he left her for the bright lights. Ms. Morales looks so similar to Chloe, too. He never married his ex despite children, but did marry Chloe. In re-setting his priorities, he should learn who his true family is and treat them as such. I hope for his full recovery.

Anybody thinking this is about Lamar and his health/recovery is fooling themselves. Any news they sent out to the world is for the benefit of the Ks. What good does is do to Lamar? Nobody needs to know about his medical status.
They weren’t there for him after him and Khloe split up, obviously as a family they would be behind Khloe I get that. But to use him on their show and portray him in a very negative light just shows how much they really care. If he was that horrible and down in the dumps, leave him alone then! Djeezes, how hard can it be to not use people and kick them when they’re down?
The fact that they are on social media just proves how deep their narcissism runs. I don’t really follow the Ks that much but this cements it for me: no more K news or even skimming through reports. They are done as entertainment. This is not funny. There are worse people out there but I really dislike this family to the core and I hope they stop being famous really soon but I know that won’t be the case.

I think she hasn’t gotten over him either. She seemed happier back then. Now it seems she has her own demons. Lamar loved her as she was. Since then she’s gone full kardashian with surgery, implants, fillers, etc. And she was holding on–she was in no hurry to sign the papers and was frequently posting cryptic twitter and instagram posts. But as long as he’s an active addict and she’s full into the kardashian machine the relationship has no future regardless of feelings. I do hope this is a wakeup for him and he doesn’t have permanent serious damage.
But he did CHEAT on her numerous times didn’t he? Or were those affairs during the time of their separation but the Kardashians conveniently leave that part out?
Yes, Lamar needs to learn how to live without relying on drugs and alcohol. But Khloe needs to learn how to live away from the cameras and the toxic members of her family (Kim and Kris). They both have to exorcise their demons.

I am surprised at the amount of medical info we are getting giving privacy laws. I begrudgingly give it up to PMK for turning a sex tape into an empire of personal appearances, product endorsements and fashion statements. While there may have been and may yet be some genuine family closeness-indeed Lamar, with his pre Kardashian drug use and tragedies may have been looking for both that and a higher profile/$ when he agreed to marry Khloe in about 5 days on television-its pretty obvious that the level of “fake” is dialed up pretty high these days.
Fake situations, fake relationships, sexualizing minors and pretending thats ok. Its getting ugly. Lamar, Rob and Scott have serious drug addictions that will require months and months of rehab. Lamar will likely not be ready physically for awhile. None of those men can go back into an environment of partying and “personal appearances” in nightclubs and Vegas, etc. They will need to change their lifestyle, the people they hang out with and the way they make their living in some cases. I am NOT convinced that the Kardashians will accept this, hoping to be proven wrong on this. Definitely they need to re-think their future or the collateral damage is going to increase..

2. I am openly online advocating for the Kardashians to be taken off television. It’s NOT just because of this. It’s because of what they promote and value, and poor Kylie…..I just can’t even! It’s all about vapidity and butts and lips and bodies and feeling you are “less than” if you don’t look like women on magazines and TV….and the Kardashians have just made it worse. We ( the collective we) promote feminism while we ( the media and K Klan) glorify changing our faces and bodies!? The Kardashians and their millions of followers just make me sad. I truly just…. I just can’t. This has to end.

It has always been apparent to anybody who watched the silly show that those two truly loved each other and still had a very close connection. No one knows who is leaking comments. Not Kloe. Most likely nurses or other hospital personnel, or more likely, made up by sleazy reporters. Odin once said being with the Kardashian family was the first time he felt like he was a member of a family that loved him and they do. He also paid for everyone in his life. Kloe is the one that got him talking to his dad again. And for whoever made the comment that Kloe should have paid for the ex and her children to come to Vegas, how do you know she did not and its not her responsibility to pay for them. I doubt other ex wives would pay to bring his whole family out and I’m sure Odom is paying genotusly to his children and their Mother. And as far as kris being behind forcing Kloe to stay with him, Kloe had never taken her mother’s orders. Sure they know how to make money and brand themselves. So what? It’s none of our business anyway. This should be about a kind, sweet, troubled man getting well, not people using this forum to bash the Kardashian Family. Shame on all with anything but well wishes for his recovery and the people that love him-even the Kardashians-the rest of you sound like jealous, bitter people who know them well.
