During this most recent press tour, Justin Bieber has been telling anyone who will listen that Selena Gomez is his first love, that he still loves her and that he wants her back. He said, on Ellen, that “maybe once we figure ourselves out we can come together and make an awesome duo” but he also claimed he just wanted her to be happy no matter who she ended up with. Selena, who was promoting her own album last month, has shut down questions about Bieber a few times and sounds like she’s over him. Or is she? Justin and Selena were seen out at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday night, they slow danced together and Justin even serenaded Selena with “My Girl” and “Sorry,” which he’s half admitted is about her. It’s been almost a year since Justin Bieber, 21, and Selena Gomez, 23, called it quits, crushing the hearts of Jelena fans. But on Friday night, the two were spotted together again.
And it gets even better; They were seen at the bar of the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, where Bieber proceeded to serenade his ex with a sweet rendition of “My Girl.” Photographer Lindsey Cavanaugh of Eat Pray Photo posted videos on her Instagram page.
She told E! News exclusively Bieber first performed his hit “Sorry” and another song at the piano and later chatted with her and her friends. The singer is known for his impromptu performances at restaurants and clubs.
“We asked what he was doing at this bar and he said, meeting up with his ex,” Cavanaugh told E! News.
Gomez arrived alone shortly afterwards and she and Bieber chatted together on their own couch. They then went to the bar and later danced together in front of the piano as a hotel performer sang Lionel Richie’s “Easy.”
“They were honestly mesmerizing to watch slow dance,” Cavanaugh said. “My business partner gave him the thumbs up and he gave it back to her and laughed, then dipped Selena all the way to the floor.”
“Shortly after that, she sat on the table and he somehow started singing ‘My Girl.’ She was smiling and in that moment, didn’t look like Selena Gomez, rather a girl at a bar being doted on by her first love,” the photographer said.
After the performance, Bieber posed for a photo with her and her friends. Gomez snapped it.
“She was bubbly and sweet, shouted ‘one more!’ and then we were on our way,” Cavanaugh said.
Bieber and Gomez, who dated on and off between early 2011 and late 2014, have not commented about their encounter.
After their sweet moment at the hotel, Bieber and Gomez went their separate ways, E! News has learned.
After that Justin and Selena walked around Beverly Hills together for a bit, TMZ has video of that. They’re seen looking at something on Justin’s phone and at one point Justin grabs Selena’s hand. Later in the night Justin headed to Hyde nightclub without Selena, where he again performed for the crowd. Of course TMZ has video of that too.
Part of me thinks this is a clever press ploy using a “witness” (who just happens to be a photographer with thousands of Instagram followers) to tell the story. There are just too many pro-Justin details. Adele’s 25 came out on Friday and while there are predictions that Purpose could be at the top of the Billboard charts next week you know Adele is going to blow Bieber out of the water. Bieber has to do whatever it takes to get press, including serenading Selena Gomez at a hotel and making sure someone is there to capture it and send it to E! and TMZ. I hope Selena is just doing a favor for Bieber and isn’t taking this seriously at all. She was seen out holding hands with a non-celebrity guy a couple of weeks ago, and while she admits she’s dating she says she’s “definitely single.” I hope she’s not dumb enough to get back with Bieber! It doesn’t sound like it, as a source was careful to tell E! that they “went their separate ways” that night. They have a long history together, one that Selena should put firmly behind her. Still, this is smart marketing from Justin and his people.
Oh and there were rumors that Justin and Selena had requested to sit together ahead of last night’s AMAs but that didn’t happen. Selena performed her hit song “Same Old Love” and it sounded like she was singing about how she was over Bieber, I swear. Bieber did a medley of “What Do You Mean?,” “Where are U Now?” and “Sorry.”
They say you stay at the age you became famous at, so Bieber is 14 and poor Selena about the same right? They make a great argument for forbidding pushy stage parents from promoting their kids.
I can see Justin and Selena getting married, having a few children then breaking up( it will be a nasty breakup)They move on to other relationships. Those relationships end and they start hanging out again (because of the children) and remarry when they are much older.
They both seem to love the drama and attention that being together brings.
In the group photo he looks twelve, especially next to the everyone else there. Who could fantasize about this guy without feeling like a pedophile?
Those Instagram posts scream, publicity stunt. Those cheesy captions– please, we all know his team wrote those.

Yeah I agree it’s totally a PR stunt.
I…don’t know. I hate to admit it, but Bieber’s album is getting good reviews and his new album has been selling well. He has a couple of songs on the top ten of Itunes and his album is number 2 under Adele’s 25. His album sold 500+ thousand in a week, more so than Drake’s last album which sold around 450+ thousand in a week and Katy Perry’s Prism which was just under 300+ thousand in its opening week. Basically, he’s outselling 95% of the popular artists right now. He doesn’t need this publicity for his album, unless he just wants to try and fix his PR image but even then Selena makes people think of the old Bieber….he could get a squeaky clean new gf to go with his new image if that was his game. With these kind of album sales, he’ll be around for a while. If anything, Selena could benefit from the PR a bit.
I don’t think it’s PR though. I think they are just two dumb kids, well two dumb young adults at this point.
It’s a good, well-produced pop album. Let legitimate contempt for his antics not tarnish the accomplishments of his creative team!

Of course Selena would go back to him. She’s done it many times before. You would think that if you break up with someone that many times clearly it’s a bad relationship and not met to be.

When you hear his voice singing a real song, its just so weak and unremarkable.
This is hysterical to me, I know the Insta “photographer” and am shocked she has so many followers. She is a photographer in real life however I think most of her work has been still life for restaurants and the like. While this may be a PR move I highly doubt Lindsey was in on it. I am betting she was just in the right place and the right time. Too funny to come to my favorite gossip website and see a girl my friend used to date being featured as a photographer!
